We enjoyed our lunch at a shady table. My generously portioned caesar salad with salmon was delicious. I asked for medium rare, and the fish was perfectly cooked: juicy with a crisp crust. It would have been better with less salt, but I ate every bite. The romaine lettuce was super fresh. You might want to skip the optional anchovies, as they were salt bombs. My husband's chopped salad was also delicious, even though the bacon was missing. Our server said it was the new cook's first day, so maybe that explains it. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, service was good, and the patio is perfect for quiet conversation over lunch. Contactless payment is available. Cool spot in Sunbury-was referred some months back and happened upon the opportunity to check it out today... for brunch. Thoughtful menu - and generous servings. Servers are friendly and helpful. I decided on the adult mango lemonade - basic enough but was exactly what I wanted - refreshingly sweet/tart with some vodka. Went with the reapers chicken & waffle. This hot honey us not for the faint of heart. I learned the owner grows the reaper peppers in their garden - don't sleep on them these peppers pack a punch and they creep up on you... Don't recommend pouring / drizzling the full container on your order - you might be sorry. I took heed .. typically I don't like fried chicken breast bc the seasoning tends not to permeate the girth of the breast - this was mo different.. that said generous serving, nothing a little additional salt didn't solve. I'd patronize the establishment again - curious about the dinner / lunch menu. For those interested they are also open for coffee & pastries at 7a. This place! A friend and I met for drinks and dinner- it was great. It was early evening with the sun shining so we sat outside. Our waitress, Mel, was so sweet and helpful. We ordered the Brussel sprouts to split, amazing, and then we both had a whiskey burger which was juicy and the homemade chips were delicious! An interesting and beautiful smoky old fashioned adorned our table too! Three days later, I took my daughter we had, of course, the Brussel sprouts. Then she had a chicken sandwich and I had the mahi-mahi tacos. The coffees were delicious too. The inside is open and so inviting! read more

I really wanted to give a better rating for this. I'll start with the positives...the food was very good and I loved the atmosphere. Those two things alone would definitely make me give this place another shot. But the service was unacceptable. There were only two servers and while I can understand that level of stress, don't sit more tables than you can serve....it's as simple as that. I didn't have a problem with the wait until the waitress became snippy. When I asked for the check she turned her back to me and in a frustrated and somewhat rude tone said "give me a minute please". I mean she said please at least right? So I brushed it off. But when she came with the bill about 20 minutes later I had my card out ready to go for her. She (not so gently) placed the bill down and I said "oh here I have this for you". I was shocked when she blatantly ignored me and walked away. I completely understand the hustle that comes with being a server and I really tried to have empathy for the staff but being rude was not necessary and made me question if I'd be back. I hope in the future they can bring on more staff or figure out a realistic number of tables to seat when they are short on servers. read more

My husband and I are making an effort this year to venture out & support businesses we haven't yet tried. Today we decided on a super early dinner (as we were starving) so ordered "to go" using their online menu. Super easy process & ready in 25 minutes... perfect! I opted for the District Greens as it had gists cheese & walnuts so knew I couldn't go wrong. I added Mahi to it & can I say, the serving was very generous! Now for my husbands order: fish & ships with a side of Buffalo Mac & cheese & a side of slaw PLUS the Buffalo dip & corn chips for an appetizer!! The portions were generous & all the flavors were delicious. He did mention that the Mac & cheese was more "like liquid" than a cheese consistency & we thought it was random that the pasta was "bow ties" but he didn't complain about the taste! Yay! The fish & chips came with a few deep fried pickles which was a nice touch, although a slice of lemon would have been nice. We got our order to go, so I'm sure if we had dined in, the little things (that really during matter or affect our overall opinion, more just as feedback) would have been taken care of for us. Went in with a friend and sat down at the bar. The female bartender greeted us with a "you need to be seated there"......we both were confused and were like at the bar?! Place was empty, so she was just being rude. We walked out. I'll never return. To the owner, find out who this person was, you don't want them interacting with your customers. read more

First visit out with friends who have come often. It was 8pm on a Saturday and we had reservations. Our table was ready on time. Our waitress was great.. Attentive but not hiverin which is perfect. Atmosphere was good and the live entertainment wasn't too loud and very enjoyable. We ordered the Buffalo dip and Brussel sprouts for starters and I had the Betty White Russian. White Russians is one of my favorite drinks and this drink took it to a tasty new level. The starter were warm and delicious. Dinner.. Me and one of the friends both ordered the salmon cooked the same way. Our fish and asperations were warm almost cold, the mashed potatoes were cold and dry. Also they were supposed to be white cheddar but didn't taste much of it. The plate was a bit sloppy and seemed to be pit together in a rush. Both myself and my friend had the same experience. The fish however was still perfectly seasoned and cooked with a crispy skin and the asperations were actually delicious despite the Temps. All to my liking. I would assume it was because it was towards the end of the evening on what was probably a busy night since we couldn't get a reservation for 4 till 8pm. I would love to visit for brunch to see a different side of the menu. While it wasnt a 5 star experience, I am pretty confident had we come earlier our experience would have been better read more

Having only been for beer once before, my husband and I decided to try a late lunch on a Sunday. Today actually, for reference as this review can't wait and I certainly hope the to bring some things to the attention to whomever is making the decisions here. Crab cakes were spectacular. An absolute delight. Great beer selection and greeting when we walked in the door. Now the service...a bit to be improved. You introduce service as a team, yet we didn't get service as a team. For instance, our meals sat in the window for no fewer than 10 minutes as four servers didn't do anything about it. At this time there were 3 tables besides ours. Our primary server printed individual checks for a party of 3, collected payment, cashed out all without ever looking for food that had been ready for long enough for me, the customer to notice it was dying in the window. My husbands medium 'steak' came out nearly well done and was so far from a filet, he actually questioned the server. With 30+ years of restaurant experience, and 12 of those working directly with cutting beef in a steakhouse, it was a pretty valid question. (Not much fun trying to cut through poor quality meet with a butter knife either) My son's chicken was of poor quality and overcooked. Smothered in sauce to hide that it was not a great choice. My fries with fish and chips were cold. Like oil dripping onto the plate cold, but when I asked for a substitute, I was offered to fry them again? Um, no thanks..I asked for a salad. Oh, but not before a plate was presented to me to turn over those fries. So yea, District 13, I think you have a great idea, but you need to work on your food quality and service. Our server didn't take off the steak that my husband didn't eat. Yes, he ate his sides, so charge him for that, but not a bad piece of meat. She frankly just handed over a check without even the offer of dessert or another beer. If you have teams of servers, hold them accountable for watching out for their teammate. They clearly failed their serving teammate today when our food sat for so long. You have an open kitchen concept, so there should be some awareness the customers can see everything, including their food that was taking a little long in the first place. Hopefully you can take this constructive criticism to do some teaching and infuse a culture of pride in the food that your staff is serving. It should be hot. It should be higher quality than some cut of meat you can claim to be a filet, when it's not even close. Best of luck! read more

WRONG This place sucks, the service has to be possibly the worst you will ever experience. Honestly better food at a Wendy's and without all the waiting. We ordered drinks and they bring 2, five minutes later the 3rd and 20mins later the 4th. So now the table finally has the drinks but wait where are the waters, we ordered food and over a hr to get very poorly cooked food. There is so much more bad but I already waisted 2.5hrs there for a burnt burger and I don't want to give this dive another minute of my time. read more

Not sure where to start. Today was my first time and wanted to try Sunday Brunch. Was greeted with the statement if you want Breakfast you have 20 minutes to order. Over an hour later the food came. During our over an hour wait, had to ask for refill on drinks. Our server never came back to check on us or apologize for the extended wait or anything. Was about to get up and leave and the food came. Eggs were burned on the edges. Ordered toast it came several minutes later. My wife's French toast was greasy and did not taste good. Never brought coffee or jelly that was requested. When complained to our server, was told busiest day ever. I could almost forgive this if there was any offer for anything. Nope, for this wonderful experience they took $40. Please do not waste your time or money. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

If you're jumpy about people not wearing masks, then this is NOT where you want to dine in! The owner or manager was walking around without a mask - cleaning off tables, greeting people... There were several people who came in without a mask and nothing was said to them. I don't remember seeing a sign that a mask was required on the front door. The food was good! The fish and chips and the byo pasta. The menu is somewhat misleading on the pricing for the pasta (pasta is extra no matter which pasta you get) but it is a very large portion. I went with six other people and service was nice but super slow, I understand short staffed but food for six and no apps took over an hour. Some of the staff was clearly talking ill about my table and it was obvious as they pointed and stared at us. First time here and was totally impressed. I'm not usually a big Brussels sprout fan but the appetizer is amazing! Can't wait to come back and eat them again. Also enjoyed the Nashville hot chicken pasta and Texas Brisket. Have heard great things about the whisky burger so want to try that next time I come out. We had a large party of 23 people here today all with special dietary needs. The District 13 staff handled it all with the utmost grace -- Jack the server / bartender was fantastic! The atmosphere was great - the place was wonderfully decorated for Halloween! The food was delicious too. The entire group all had special orders due to following low carb diets -- the food was hot, fresh, and all orders were prepared correctly! I had the chicken caprese sandwich which was delicious - the pesto sauce and mozzarella were fantastic. I also split an order of the lettuce wraps with chicken -- the peanut sauce was so good. This restaurant offers call ahead seating which is very nice to limit the wait time. There were 3 waitresses working and they all shared each table to ensure that all customers were helped in a timely manner. The Brussels Sprout Appetizer was huge. Kinda thin and light bun that is a perfect combo with the bourbon sauce, sautéed onions and bacon!! Fried green tomatoes, spot on! Had the smoked bourbon and the pour was very generous for $10 and the wood smoked covered glass it came in....the finishing touch to a 5* review!! Got the whiskey bacon burger came with house made chips surprisingly not overly salty and the simply grilled salmon which had a risotto included and we got broccoli as the side. First time trying the restaurant and we are so pleased. The food was delicious, we both got burgers. The decor inside is pretty neat, especially the vault keg wall. We are in awe of this delicious restaurant in an unexpected location. The bar. The bar. The bar. These guys work hard to serve interesting yet delicious drinks. Service was spot on attentive. We have an 8 and a 12 year old and both enjoyed their meals (miracle!). Even dessert was an unexpected surprise. I enjoyed the meatloaf served on a bed of mashed potatoes with fresh green beans.
