We had a large party meet for an early dinner here. I am from out of town visiting relatives and was so impressed with how cute this restaurant is, the extensive "something for everyone" menu and the efficient counter ordering system and friendly staff who were eager to please. Our party tried a variety of dishes from All American Burger, Ruben Sandwich, Prime Rib French Dip and grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich. Sides selected ranged from fries, fruit and Mac & cheese. Food was brought to our table promptly. I had the prime rib french dip and meat was tender and plentiful; dipped in the beefy aujus which was perfect not too salty. I chased my sandwich down with some perfectly executed crispy fries. No to go boxes here as everyone finished their dishes. This was our first visit to this place. The gentleman who greeted us when we came through the door explained the dining concept to us: one side was a self-serve and the other side with the bar was full-service. Since there were a number of couples waiting for the full service side we opted for the former. We ordered and paid at the counter. I ordered the grilled chicken breast with a sweet potato and steamed broccoli while my husband ordered the grilled salmon with sweet potato and opted for a caesar salad in lieu of a second side. The grilled chicken breast was moist and well seasoned but it essentially was naked. It could have used a nice sauce like a bearnaise or some kind of salsa (maybe chutney) to jazz it up. The sweet potato was embarrassingly small. The broccoli was crisp tender but again was bereft of any sauce or just melted butter to make it yummy. My husband's entree was tasty but essentially was pretty bare. His salad was decent though. This restaurant must understand that the eye eats as well as the stomach because when the entrees arrived at our table the plates were rather underwhelming. We also ordered coffees and the gentlemen at the front said he would make a pot of fresh coffee. (He never did). The coffee we were served was old. Apparently, coffee isn't a big draw at this place. The best part was the gluten-free brownie and ice cream at the end. All in all, the place is nice and clean. The food is decent but there is room for improvement. This was the second time dining at Surve. We would go more but it's always busy and they don't take reservations. I met a friend after work at 4:30 and we sat in the bar area, which has several high tops and bar seating, a nice, comfortable ambiance The service was immediate and very attentive. The server told us the chicken is local, fresh and organic. She also said all their dressings and sauces are made in-house. The beers are between $3-5 and the cocktails are $10-12, which is so reasonable for drinks. I ordered the buffalo chicken sliders which came with 1 side. Stopped in on a busy Friday night. We took first seat available which was their counter order/table side delivery option. I got a lent special of grilled mahi mahi with brussel sprouts and Mac and cheese on the side. So delicious! Perfectly cooked fish, and the Brussels were well seasoned. The Mac and cheese was ok, it definitely wasn't bad - just not the shining star of the meal. My family got burgers (highly rated too) and a buffalo chicken sandwich. All fantastic. The manager on duty at dinner time made good on a problem with the size of the sweet potato that was my granddaughters. He also opened up for other comments and I shared 2 comments on my dinner. I was expecting more from the reviews, the people are nice the place is beautiful but the food was not that up to par. The only thing good was the salmon but that had multiple bones in it. The brussel sprouts weren't cooked enough and not prepped, the coleslaw had so much vinegar and was so watery I could barely eat it, I put a ton of salt and pepper on it. My bfs burger he enjoyed because how much can you mess that up? And some fries. Probably won't be back but it was a good try, and the gf options are just basic food options like baked potato but not until 4, proteins and such nothing too spectacular and of course salads that you add protein to. Arrived around 3 PM on a Saturday for a party of 2. A few other patrons in the restaurant but otherwise not very busy. We were quickly greeted and explained how the setup works. One side (near the door) you place your order at the counter, grab your food, and seat yourself. The other side has a few tables and a bar top that's tended by a waitress. We chose to sit at the bar top and again were quickly greeted by the bartender. She got us menus and took our drink orders. We both had the caesar salad and fries. The place was very clean, beautifully lit and felt good to be in. The food was delicious with even who I'm assuming was the manager checked in to ensure everything was okay. I am writing to express my disappointment with the lack of accessibility at Surve. My child has a disability and requires a straw to drink. Unfortunately, this establishment does not keep straws on site, even for medical accommodations. I support eco-friendly initiatives, but they should not come at the cost of basic accessibility. I attempted to contact management privately via their website to resolve this, but received no reply. We will not be returning or recommending this restaurant unless they implement inclusive practices. read more

Food was outstanding presented well and a pleasant staff eager to help. The medium rare was well done but that is hard to get right. Most weird was you have to bring your own straw. It's no fun to get a face full of ice cubes in order to take a drink. I like to use a straw to drink from below the ice. I requested a straw and was told "we don't have straws" in a smug manner as if somehow they have fixed a problem. I don't usually carry straws or do I know anyone who might. read more

We love to explore new places and happened to be in the area shopping (outlet Mall) Anyone in the area should definitely drive a couple miles down to visit this delicious place!! We had a great experience at Surve! We're local to the area and had driven by a bunch of times - it always smelled so good when we passed by and we knew we had to give it a try. We stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. The place is bright and welcoming and our bartender was so friendly. We had the cheese curds for an appetizer. I think I could have eaten two more plates of them - they were so delicious! For our mains I had the chicken salad sandwich and my husband had the cheeseburger. We both enjoyed our meals and had a really lovely time. We look forward to visiting Surve again soon. read more

I would really like to give this place ZERO stars since we couldn't get service and had to leave without eating. My friend and I were traveling around for the Local Yarn Shop day and she really wanted to stop at Surve. We walked in and there were no directions but one room, with the bar had a sign-Full service here. There was a long Bar on one side of the room and all high top tables on the other. We walked back into the other room and asked the server if we could get service in that room since we are both older and walk with canes. She said sure, they weren't crowded. A few minutes later, after reading the menu we asked another server if we could place our order and she said that room does not have full service, we would have to go up to the counter on the other side of that room and order our food. So we asked to speak to the manager. We explained, very nicely, that we were told we could get service since all the seating in the full service room were high seats and neither of us could get up into them. He told us that this room was not full service and we would have to eat in the bar. I asked if they could move one table into the bar room. He said NO. My friend said, so you won't serve us here in this room?- He said "well that isn't our concept, if you want full service you have to eat in the bar" We left without eating We will tell everyone we know about this experience!! If you are disabled and or elderly and can not eat at a high top table- don't go to Surve. They don't want your business. read more

Quit searching... directly come to this fantastic restaurant. Its located in north portion of Sunbury's town square. Lots of free street parking. You will be welcomed by their staff and made to feel like you are a regular even if its your first time in or haven't been there for a while (like us) . There are two options for seating. One half of the restaurant has a walk up ordering counter and then you go sit. The bar side has 4 full service tables and 10 seats at their bar... (which we always choose to sit at). If you come at night and you will get an amazing bar keep named Amy- who makes a killer margarita. We started with deviled eggs. Omg. Yum. We then ordered the cajan chicken sandwich with Brussels and the hubby added broccoli to his. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and was thick and tender. They use a great bun that didnt over take the sandwich. I added avocado which was super fresh and ripe, plus they gave a generous amount to my sandwich. I was very impressed. We ended the meal with key lime pie. The pie was very good and had probably the best crust I've had since Boca Grande , FL -- where key lime pie rules. read more

We sat at the bar for nearly 15 minutes, no acknowledgement from bartender. The restaurant was modestly busy, but not hectic. We realized being a regular was far more important to the staff. Can not critique the food because we finally left after 15 minutes of being ignored. We work in the service industry, understand being busy. But acknowledge your clients. It goes a long way. I stopped in Surve around 3pm for a late lunch on a Friday. I always prefer to be in the old parts of towns instead of the new retail/fast food stuff, and this place is on the square. It's a nice location if you're out that way, and it's added a few nice looking places since the last time I rode through. Surve is clean and bright, and the gal that welcomed me in was super nice. They have a fast casual counter deal on one side, and a full table-service area and bar on the other. I let them wait on me, and my waitress was a sweetheart. Very attentive, very friendly, and very efficient. I kept it simple with a BLT, but you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the quality of a simple thing like that. The bacon was both crispy and warm - not cold and chewy like a lot of places - the tomato was nice and ripe, the lettuce was crispy, and there you have it. It was a good sandwich. Unfortunately, they were having some kind of issue with the fryers, so I couldn't try their fresh cut fries (or anything else deep fried). I chose the mac-n-cheese instead, and it was pretty good. I noticed that the bar had a draft list and other good stuff, but it was lunchtime and I was on the bike, so I had to pass. I have worked in the area for two years and have eaten at Surve at least once a week. My go to gas always been a fillet, mashed potatoes with gravy, and a Caesar salad. I honestly have never had a bad dinner here. The restaurant is divided in half with one side having a bar and traditional service. The other half is pay when you order and self serve drinks. Stopped by for lunch today while showing my aunt around the area. The place was fairly busy given that it was lunch time, but we found seats at the bar. It had been awhile since I'd eaten here, so I was surprised by the growth of the menu. There's plenty of options for all styles of eating, reasonable prices, and now an extensive drink menu on the back. Our server behind the bar was super sweet and answered all of ours questions. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sliders with Brussels sprouts, while my aunt ordered the chili cheeseburger with Brussels sprouts as well (and no bun). Both of us devoured our meals. The Buffalo chicken dip was very flavorful, but not very spicy. It was fresh and went great with the little corn sliders. The brussels sprouts are my favorite side to get here as well, and they did not disappoint. I high recommend this small place if you're in the area. The Food is always high quality and the prices are very reasonable. The Restaurant has two sides, one for full service dining, and the other for quick-order where you can either eat in or take it to-go. In half of the restaurant, you order at the counter, find a table and they bring your meal out to you, In the other half of the restaurant, they offer full table service. On both of our visits to Surve, we've opted to order at the counter and have our meals brought out to us. The staff is very friendly and professional and our service (both times) was excellent. My wife has tried their salmon and the grilled Rueben. I opted for burgers - both times. The food is also excellent. The dining area is bright and cherry - this is a delighful place to visit.
