The waitress said the beer selection changes every couple of days and we struggled to find a decent beer (Menu pictured). I ordered the blazin chicken sandwich with the house made chips. The chicken breast was juicy and tender and came with cheese, pickles and a sauce. 4.5/5 - so good!! The chips were cold, unsalted and overcooked. I ordered homemade ranch with them, which made them edible. We also got the grilled steak dip sandwich with sweet potato fries (additional $6.65!!). The sandwich was good and the fries were frozen, nothing special. The sandwiches were $16 and $17 which seems overpriced to come with those chips. Fries are an up-charge. Not sure what happened tonight but worst dining experience in 20+ yrs. Over 1 hr 40 mins and no food for party of 7, giving them slack as we were probably classified as "big party". When first sandwich came out it was completely burnt, absolutely could not eat it. they brought it out solo, none of the other 6 meals were even brought out. Asked for check and got an attitude - saying what do you want us to do? We turned off Door Dash and Uber Eats, we are just busy. Maybe that is your problem to begin with? Usually has good food but is apparently what happens when a bar has good food and word is out, can't handle the business. Just another visit So there I was, stepping into the Firehouse Tavern, a place where the walls are decked out in enough firehouse and military memorabilia to make you feel like you've just enlisted or joined the local engine company. Not a good experience at all. Nice small place in the middle of town (which I have typically had good experiences), but that's about where it stops. Waitress was fine, but she really didn't seem to know the menu very well when people asked questions. Nice, but I would have expected a server to be more knowledgeable. We were optimistic as we didn't have a crazy long time to be there, but had plenty of time to have lunch. I only mention this since there were not very m any people in the restaurant. I should have known my luck would run out eventually in getting food quickly. It took at around 40 minutes to make items like chicken tenders, wings, quesadillas, a chicken wrap, and fries. None of this type of food should take more than 15-20 minutes tops, especially with as few people were in the there. We had to get everything into to go boxes which of course weren't even labeled, so we had to open everything to find out which was which. After getting everything, we found that one person's order wasn't even made yet. Fortunately we had multiple driver's she just waited. The food itself was just okay. I wish I would have checked, but my wings were basically without sauce. There were also very small. The chicken wrap was way small for the price, but I will say the mac and cheese was very good. Quesadillas were average. Maybe it was just an off day there, and I really don't like giving 1 star to anywhere, but this time, it just wasn't worth it at all. Today's weather was glorious and this was our first opportunity to "dine outside" on the patio. We were at the Firehouse Tavern - right on the square in Sunbury on a beautiful afternoon. The service was excellent - especially since we were the only ones outside on the patio. Our waitress brought our menus quickly and took our beverage orders - she returned with the beverages pretty quickly and took our orders. We both had the pork tenderloin sandwich - my wife had hers with the house chips that come standard and I ugraded to the hand-cut fries. BOTH the chips and the fries were excellent. When ordering a pork tenderloin, you never know if it will be a traditional (Indiana) style tenderloin that has been pounded very thin and is normally twice the size of the bun or if its going to be a thicker, breaded tenderloin. In this case, it was the thicker, breaded and fried pork tenderloin. AND - it was delicious. I'm usually partial to the more traditional (wide and thin) version but this preparation was EXCELLENT. The pork was moist and was topped with BBQ sauce, an onion ring, and cheddar cheese. Exceptional preparation. I will definitely be back to this restaurant. read more

Been here many times and loved it. Tonight, not so much. Mushroom Swiss Burger was way over done and pretty bland in my opinion, especially @ $15.00. Onion Rings lacked flavor. The wings were OK, but the celery that came with it (actually 10 minutes later) was slimy and covered with something "brownish". The service was slow and refills were non existent. I think if you get seated in the back room they forget about you and it takes forever to get service or attention. We started off with pretzeI hoses which were ok. I've ate here several times and most of the time it's good! My favorite thing is their traditional garlic Parmesan wings. They never disappoint. I've tried the gyro, it's okay.. I actually prefer the gyro salad! I ordered a burger once online and when I brought it home it wasn't what I had ordered. It was missing all the toppings that was in the description on the menu. But i should've checked the bag before leaving. The fish n chips are just meh. I wouldn't recommend them. The service is actually pretty bad. I tend to go during the day before they get busy with the bar. But one time, we walked in and seated ourselves, nobody came to the table. I ended up having to go up and get my own menu and order our drinks. But after that the waitress checked on us frequently. The atmosphere is cool. There's a lot to look at. We ordered takeout tonight and got burgers, wings, and a chicken, tender basket. Most likely I would've given restaurant a 4 to 5, but on the chicken, tender basket there was about eight fries. So just attention to detail. It also has been nice if the hamburgers would've come with fries, but they came with potato chips that pretty much no one eats. Edit: I'm not sure what has happened to one of our favorite places. We visited on a Friday night and it was certainly not like it has been in the past. I understand it's a "tavern", but it was so loud I could hardly have a conversation with my wife sitting next to me. They had the music playing so loud that others had to scream to talk to one another. I was happy to leave after dinner and my ears thanked me. It was like walking outside after a loud concert. Plus side, was sat immediately, food was good as well as service. Unfortunately, probably losing a loyal visitor. Over a year ago..... We have been here a few times and it's always been worth the 40 minutes drive north. We were super lucky to snag a seat outside on the sidewalk last night and the weather was beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Stopped here after a long day of shopping at Tanger Outlet. There was no hostess so we sat our selves but a waitress appeared immediately. She took our drink orders and promptly brought them out and then we all ordered food. I got chili, wings, and a burger, my dad got a burger, my one sister got a BLT, and the other got the teriyaki lettuce wraps. Portion size is great, could barely finish my food and my dad didn't finish his. Sisters both finished their entrees and absolutely loved them. My one sister said the chips were a little burnt but other than that, great. The lettuce wraps were an appetizer but plenty enough for a meal. The burger was cooked perfect and you could tell it wasn't some frozen patty. I also substituted sweet potato fries and they were amazing, especially the cinnamon sugar dipping sauce it came with, to die for. Prices were great, service was great, food was great, definitely found a new go to after the mall and outlets. read more

Visited here with my husband and a few friends a few months back. Had a great time! The place seems pretty small, so we went to the back, which has a nice, quiet and secluded room (which would be great for parties). We didn't order food, only a few pitchers, which were a great deal! Although, I've heard the food is good so we'll have to venture back again. The ambiance in the front of the place seemed dark and kind of divey and the back seemed more like ... basic bar-esque. The service was good, they checked on us frequently even though we were in an entirely separate room, which I could see could turn into an out-of-sight-out-of-mind kind of thing, but it didn't! read more

She totally got our beer order wrong (& she never did bring them, the bartender gave them to our table a full 10 min. after we ordered them at 5:05 pm) & we had to repeat our food requests to her multiple times as she kept asking what we had just said!!! They were forever getting my burger to me and the fries were stone cold! My wife's fish and chips NEVER CAME out. My burger was to be medium and came out too done along with the cold fries! Our waitress apologized several times and asked if we wanted to speak with the Manager which we said yes we did. He or she never came out to see us. Absolutely terrible and we will not be back. It was very small, more like a side salad, with a handful of "chips" created by overcooking gyro meat until it was almost inedible. I was really disappointed because I've had much better food here in the past. Don't know if it was just a glitch or just due to the fact they were so busy maybe they were overwhelmed in the kitchen. This was my first time coming here and the food was good but the service was terrible. Me and my boyfriend order our drink and was still looking over the menu. The lady came over and we order the food and before the food showed up we were running low on drinks. She didn't ask us if we needed and refill and didn't even bring us a new one when we ask. Friendly server, cool atmosphere, but the food was so bad I can't give more than one star. I came with my father in law, wife, and two boys - when the food came out it all looked great, but the devil is always in the details. My father-in-law got the fish and chips - it was a good sized piece of fish and was a whole filet (i.e., thin on one end and thick on the other). He started on the thin end and it tasted fine, when he tried to cut a piece off of the thicker end he realized that it was frozen solid. My only guess is that they use frozen fish and didnt take time to thaw it before throwing it in the deep fryer so while the thin end and batter cooked the thicker part of the fish stayed frozen - so, so gross. I got the reuben sandwich. It looked great, but you could tell from the lukewarm corned beef but nuclear hot sauerkraut that it had been made, then microwaved. The microwave made the bread chewy and limp. My boys got the kids sliders. They came out like hockey pucks and the inside of the burgers was a really strange browning red. Not red like they were undercooked, more like they were very low quality meat and possibly frozen before being cooked. My wife got the burger. It came out looking magazine ready but again the patty was so dry it was incredibly disappointing. I'm all for supporting small businesses especially on the tail end of a pandemic, but charging high prices for such low quality food doesn't fly regardless of the circumstances. Had it just been one dish I would have liked to try again, but to have every dish that came out be so bad its simply not worth the return trip. read more
