This place is absolutely divine. For a scratch restaurant, I expected higher prices. Thought it was very reasonable. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. You never quite know what bar service will be, since they often have to get house drinks and sometimes serve other tables. She was great! Tons of great draft beer selections and even a cider. My plate of crab and artichoke eggs Benedict looked like I had licked it clean. Promise, I didn't! The arugula salad with the Benedict was perfect. I have been giving them shit for months over the removal of black garlic Caesar salad. It's back! The menu change is here, so we popped in for caesers (with Parmesan crusted chicken), and I nabbed the lemon pepper chicken sandwich, and some ale and cheddar soup. I feel they're on the upswing, again. The sandwich was delicious (although messy! I always trim it up), and the ladies loved their Caesars. And the ale and cheddar soup is a staple for cold weather. Got the dip duo to start, guacamole and pimento cheese with tortillas Delicious, especially the guacamole I got an amazing salmon entree cooked in parchment with turmeric rice, onions and peppers.... Walked into a warm welcome from the hostess and we asked for a table for 5. We got sat within 5 min on a Saturday night. The place is a little dark but cozy, fireplace was ripping and set the tone. We wanted to grab a quick bite before top golf. The food was good, we got the Mac and cheese, salmon, Cuban and an order of the tots. The only thing that was so/ so was the tots, everyone agreed we wouldn't order those again. Everything was solid, the Cuban was really good just wish the bread was pressed and "crispy" on the outside (if we are getting picky) the salmon was great with gnocchi, Brussel sprouts and a thick sauce of some sort. I booked us for Friday night on Valentine's weekend. It was busy, but we were shown right to our seat, given cold water, and waited in by a knowledgeable staff. We ordered some tots first and they were good. Very filling. Almost too much! I had determined to try the special and it was good. It was a very earthy, homey meal that I appreciated for what it was. We started with the Potato Croquettes, Brown Butter Gnocchi, and Lemon Chili Green Beans; the croquettes were generously sized and easy to share, the gnocchi leaned salty, and the green beans were tough. Went here to enjoy brunch for Mother's Day. Upon arriving the staff told us they were not offering their full brunch menu, but a very limited version of it. Seriously? One of the biggest days people go out for brunch and you don't offer the full brunch? They even opened an hour earlier than normal for the holiday. They proceeded to tell us it was advertised on their website and it was not. Did it ruin the day, no, but very disappointed on such a stupid decision the staff said was from corporate. I've always been a fan of 101 beer kitchen great brunch options as well as dinner and now they've made it even better by offering a fantastic happy hour. Half off of cocktails and snacks and bar bites and three dollars off beer there's something for everyone. I personally have gotten the old-fashioned because I'm a big fan and this one is pretty standard. Nothing fancy but the price is fantastic. we got the tater tots which are always fabulous - some of my favorite tater tots I've had- as well as the Mexican corn dip. We both wished that there was more corn in the dip. It's definitely more feta heavy but give it a good stir and that helps quite a bit. The bigger space and the staff being accommodating was appreciated. I have never had bad service or a bad meal at any 101 locations. It's such a treat to get one of their entrees, especially if it is seasonal. The Crispy Lemon Chicken with Potatoes & Pesto Green Beans is phenomenal. The Mac and cheese was maybe a little too bland , but it worked! I the stars of the evening were the pierogis and the plantains. Great flavor profiles on both of the dishes. Service was good, our waiter was kind of running around but someone who was probably the manager made sure everything came out fast and we had drinks quickly which was appreciated. I loved sitting by their fireplace, it was such a nice touch (maybe a little worrisome because my daughter had the wiggles) too! I took a friend of mine to 101 for her birthday. They are known for a farm to table menu that changes with the seasons. Don't let the name fool you, 101 is an underwhelming name for such a fantastic restaurant. My friend totally loved it. We tried the corn dip for an appetizer and it was delicious. We both tried the New York Strip steak and it was so tender and delicious. The arugula salad was equally amazing and the potatoes were also very good. Our server was super nice and very attentive. We come here often for happy hour because there's not many other choices around. Bar stools are uncomfortable and bar area is always freezing (bathrooms are even worse). Draft beer choices are just ok but at least they're 50% off. My wine pou,r on the other hand, was a joke! We mentioned to the bar tender if they were 6oz pours & she said she just fills it to the line. I have no idea what line she was talking about... there wasn't one on my glass. This is not the first time I've gotten wine here (even after happy hour) & it's always terrible. We ended up leaving & going somewhere else for another glass of wine after our apps. The pizza & poutine were lacking in flavor, but a nice size. The fries need more salt (This is never a problem for me elsewhere). I was lucky enough to attend a client party with food catered by these people. It was OUTSTANDING. Were there dates in the hummus? And those slightly sweet chicken wings. I had forgotten how much I like beer cheese. Everything was labeled. I should have paid more attention. There was great stuff that i had no clue what it was except yummy. Maybe it was the cranberry spritzs. And sadly, I was too polite to overload my plate. But I did grab 2 of those wings to go. First visit and had such a wonderful experience. The food is amazing! We decided to try 101. Plenty of parking and upon check in wait time was only about 20-25 mins on Monday around 7pm. I would recommend reservations for dinner moving forward (just in case). It's a great space and loved the sound of all the options on the Summer menu options. We surprisingly both went for a variation of the Mac n Cheese! We started our meal with the 101 DEVILED EGGS ($8.95) - Crispy Prosciutto, Fried Capers & Smoked Paprika. I am a big fan of the crispy prosciutto which i first thought was bacon. The fabulous HOUSEMADE MACARONI & CHEESE ($12.95) comes with a Six-Cheese Mornay Sauce, Mini Rigatoni & Toasted Breadcrumbs (as described in the menu). My partner had his Mac n Cheese topped with SRIRACHA SLAB BACON (+ $8.95). This is a favorite from staff recommendations. I had the my Mac n Cheese with the PARMESAN BREADED CHICKEN (+ $6.50). Definitely recommend and the parm was a perfect addition to the dish. We decided we couldn't pass on dessert and went with the BOURBON PEACH BUTTER CAKE ($6.75). The Bourbon Peach Sauce was perfect and the Vanilla Ice Cream & Mint made the dessert. So very good food and made for a nice dinner out. And special shout out to Mark S., he is awesome server!
