I typically like a sweeter old-fashioned, but they use a rye whiskey in theirs, so the Brooklyn was a nice alternative. Our server, Danny was super friendly and very attentive to our needs. It was actually our anniversary that day, so the restaurant gave us a complementary slice of chocolate cake which was to die for. That is the best chocolate cake I've ever eaten. Additionally, the dish was served with only carrots as the root vegetable, whereas in the past it has included a variety of vegetables that really elevated the overall flavor and presentation. I was especially disappointed because this was actually the first time I remembered to take a photo of my meal before digging in. I came in fully intending to finally leave a glowing five-star review based on all of our previous great experiences--but unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to that expectation. This was surprising, especially given how consistently great this dish--and the restaurant overall--has been during our previous visits. We've dined here at least five times this year and even celebrated our son's third birthday here, so this experience felt out of character.
