I'm a hard-core Minnesota Vikings fan and while I was traveling in the Columbus area for work for a few weeks I went to vikings.com and found the local Vikings chapter here in Columbus, which led me to fenders. Fiess is normally alive music club, but on Viking game days, they become the ultimate Ohio Viking bar. Erik and the local Ohio purple people eaters club doing amazing job of transforming the place into your Vikings home away from home. They do the SKOL chant and they sing the fight song whenever the Vikings score. They give away prizes during commercials. They have a 50-50 raffle. It's like you're at the stadium. The staff is super friendly and very attentive, even though the bar was packed. Never missed a beat when your drink is empty or if you needed some food. The food is just OK. It could definitely be better in my opinion. I had the sliders and the beef just had no seasoning or flavor on it, but it was still OK. They do allow you to bring in outside food and there is a pizza joint next-door That had very good pizza as I got to try a piece of somebody's. I personally would recommend getting the pizza from next-door over the food inside. My only sort of gripe is that I wish the TVs were bigger and newer and brighter. Since the place is not typically a sports bar, I sort of get it. But they definitely need bigger TVs. Still totally watchable they just feel really small in the big space. read more

Fender's is always the perfect spot for an amazing night!! It's an awesome, convenient location to everything!! The vibes as soon as you walk in are fantastic! Awesome place with great prices and the food is pretty good. The wings and fries are very tasty and cooked to perfection. The place has an great vibe. We especially like their live music it brings in a great group of people. The drinks are good and decently priced. The servers are efficient and friendly. It's our favorite neighborhood sports bar. My husband and I have enjoyed some great date nights. They also have pool and several tv's showing various sports I do like how the have the sound turned down. The bar area is pretty spacious with a large circular bar with the servers bar tender's in the center. The employees seem to have a good vibe and seem to work well together. I have to add that the sound system is decent which makes the bands sound good. read more

I've been coming to Fenders almost every Friday and I believe it's time to give my review. This place have different bands scheduled every Friday and Saturday. It's a cozy place but perfect for live bands. The bartenders are always busy but very attentive, nice and professional. The owner (Jerome) is very friendly/professional who always welcomes everyone. If I could leave zero stars I would. My sisters and niece were here last night at this establishment. We were blatantly ignored by the bar staff!!!! Being African american and living in a predominantly Caucasian based area of Worthington/Westerville we have frequented many bars where there were no or few blacks and still felt welcomed and were treated fairly(you see I said fairly) because we are not looking for better than treatment, just the same treatment as non minority patrons. OK went here tonight my buddies band was playing. Fantastic turn out the band was phenomenal. So many friends turned out to get out and have a good time tonight listen to some great music have some great drinks. The ladies at the bar took care of us while we're attentive to our needs and provide a great service. Of course we tip them well just a great kick ass time tonight to get out of the January blahs. Tonight was one of those nights that you would wish every night could be like. Great Time you should stop up here if you're in the area or live local. Kinda empty on a weeknight... but this is Polaris area. The drinks were delicious and unreal. Under $5 for one cocktail? You could get tore up here for very little money. I'll be honest, I've never come into Kicks solely to drink. It's only been for Mikey's Late Night...which is amazing pizza and well worth it to drink here anyway! From what I have seen of the bar, you will find it sort of empty and Cheers-like neighborhood bar on the weekdays, but the weekends are loud and incredibly noisy, often with a live band. I prefer weekdays myself. The bartenders seem super nice and from what I can tell, prices are very reasonable. They don't have a specialty drink menu per se...they have a few mixed drinks written above the bar that you can choose from. Give it a try. Very close to Polaris and ample parking (and AWESOME pizza!). read more

Kicks is a little off the path of chain restaurants by Polaris, but it is definitely worth going to if you are in the area. I met friends here on a Saturday night at 8. There were plenty of seats at the bar and a good amount of empty tables open. Honestly, I thought it looked empty for a Saturday night at first. About an hour and a half later, I noticed that people were standing everywhere with no seats at the bar or tables. There was a large crowd by 10. The bartenders were awesome. They were all very attentive. As soon as I finished my long island, they asked if I wanted another. My friends were never without a drink or waiting to be served. They knew all the drinks/shots we asked for without hesitation. With the large crowd, I was VERY impressed. And of course, Mikey's Late Night Slice is inside. You walk up, place your order and pick up your food when it is ready. Mikey's is fantastic, so make sure to grab a slice of pizza. The crowd is definitely older, which is the only downside. Definitely a 40+ kind of place. They had modern music playing really loud though. There was a mix of rock, hip-hop, rap, pop and alternative. This bar has become the Sunday home of Minnesota Vikings fans. They accommodate the many dozens of us who show up every weekend with such professionalism. The menu is basic but done well. There is BBQ and standard American bar fare. Food can take a while to come out from the kitchen. The drinks are so reasonably priced, it's an awesome place to hang out for many hours at a time. They have enough TVs so you have a good view no matter where you are. The staff have always been so attentive to our needs. We love coming here each week! read more

Now called Kicks, it's a great place to come with friends for the "bar" night out. Nothing fancy here, but there are three pool tables, some flat screens around (too high for real watching), and they have live music all the time. It's a fun bar for you and your friends, so I advise against this being on a list for a date, unless you're going for the music, which would be a big plus. My wife was so impressed with her experience that she's been scouring the website for upcoming bands to see. I can't comment on food but they have it and if you are able to get a 6-pack bucket of beer for $13, it's a pretty good deal. read more

This review is tough because Jerome the owner has invested his money into the Vikings Club and he is so nice and real. Unfortunately the staff has not. They never smile, thank you, or really give a shit. Oblivious bartenders that would rather group and talk or eat as a team than make tips serving drinks. Jerome is a truly great guy that really should be rewarded for the great owner he is. and it's tough to see the fan club attendance dropping because of the bartenders thinking they are too cool or hot. Now that Jerome has taken ownership of the place it's really changing its image for the better! Not only do they offer consistently good live music several days each week, but the draft selection and kitchen have been vastly improved! The bar staff is friendly and attentive and the owner will go out of his way to make your experience a great one. There is still plenty of bike parking but the atmosphere is friendly to everyone. Don't be fooled, 3 of those stars are because there's a Mikey's LNS in here. They do have a great ($1) happy hour to grab some beers with your pie. It gets really loud here though, like almost too loud. There are a lot of TVs but the loud live music in that small a space makes it hard to concentrate on the game. The barstaff also knows a lot of the people that come here daily, so if you're not a regular, expect to wait and stand around while they finish their conversation, update each other on the kids, chit chat about the weather, and then, OOHH, notice that someone else at the bar would like a drink. I mean, I always give 100% tip on a $1 beer and I still couldn't get regular service. Did I mention there's Mikey's LNS though? It wasn't quite as good as the original location, but it did the job. I will never go to Fenders again. After the way the owner handled a situation it is obvious that he only cares about his guy friends. Certainly not the safety of female patrons. I really dislike this place. It is dirty and run down. There was a dog running around inside last time I was there with about 6 other people. Both times in past year I have gone I had to order food from cottage inn in the same shopping center. The only saving grace is when Tom Cline plays there. The most awful food I've ever eaten. The brisket was 100% fat and the chicken was reheated. We were served one drink and our food, then the server never came back. We finally had to ask for our bill and when we pointed out that the brisket was all fat she said 'oh, sorry about that. What's your last name so I can get your bill?' Terrible terrible service. I've been to Kick's a couple of times, and really like this bar. It's not overly crowded, but definitely enough people to have a good time. They have live music, which means dancing - which is what I love. It's hard to find a bar where you can dance around the Polaris area. Drinks are very reasonably priced, and the bartenders are friendly and attentive. There is typically a cover, but it's pretty standard - $5. And, of course, you can grab a piece of Late Night Slice pizza inside! read more

This is probably my LEAST favorite bar in the lewiscenter area. I went in for a beer and the bartender Brittany was LESS than thrilled to serve me, she didn't speak to me except to ask if I wanted to open a tab or not. I ordered a bud light draft and it was room temperature and had a metal taste to it. I drink bud light draft enough to know when it's not right and when I told her she didn't say a word so I ordered a beer in a bottle, she brought it without apologizing or even attempting to fix it gave me the amount of my new beer and went and sat at the other end of the bar to eat and talk to a male customer. When you are in a service position your role is to serve your customers the best you can and to attempt to fix issues that arise to prevent bad reviews and a bad time for your customer. You NEVER know what someone is going through. Will tell everyone at Chase and surrounding businesses not to give their money to this establishment.
