If you're a Chicago Bears fan, this bar is for you. If you're not, double check the NFL schedule and visit anyway. They have fun giveaways and an enthusiastic crowd during games. Any drink you order costs from $2-5 and they offer a mug club--$20 for the mug that includes a free beer, then $5 for every refill forever. Mostly domestics and a couple local IPAs. All food is between $5-10, with the Italian sub being $5 and absolutely massive. You get your money's worth and beyond here. Can't wait to visit again. read more

My Bar 161 - Italian sub - Bars Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

My Bar 161 is a strip mall sports bar. I hate the sound of that so it made me leery of this. The location isn't that bad. It's the fact that it's in a strip mall. That doesn't exactly equal atmosphere. I thought to give it a try. It's located by a constantly changing restaurant and a seedy carryout. The atmosphere was like a dive bar with laid back regulars. It wasn't sterile as it might have expected to be. They aren't just a bar but also serve food. It's amazing but people have seemed to like it. The beer selection is okay. It's mostly the whatever light. They do have a few local brands. I would think about coming to My Bar 161 again, and then come to my senses. It's not that awful but it's not what you would call hipster. The regulars are an interesting, scary bunch. read more

My Bar 161 - Inside - Bars Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

As a world traveler and a connoisseur Stromboli I feel compelled to share my experience at this Mecca of Boli. From the shores of the Amalfi coast to the cross roads of 161 an sawmill its like Nazzareno Romano himself has laid his hands and knowledge upon this slice of Italy on the outskirts of Dublin Ohio. Sophia who could be a distant relative of Romano himself hand tossed the dough, adding the freshest mozzarella and farm grown sausage into a A purely delectable dough. To say my mouth was watering would be a understatement. As my taste buds danced with delight I was reminded of the old Italian word Squisito!!! Cold beer and great food makes for a wonderful and delightful experience!!! . read more

My Bar 161 - a plate of pizza and a bowl of sauce - Bars Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

This place is a hidden Gem. It's very roomy inside, has flat screens all around the bar and plenty of projectors to show any amount of games you might want to watch. Inside is nicely decorated and the employees are always nice. They also have a fairly nice (but small) heated smoking patio. Here is what I don't understand about this place, I've been there twice on weeknights now... and both times it was almost completely empty. I haven't been able to put my finger on it. The prices are fair for the area, the atmosphere is nicer than some of the hole in the wall's in the area. It's not as commercial as franchised places like BW3's, but a similar feel. I think with some good advertising, maybe some team sponsorship deals, and concentrating on getting repeat customers, this place could be a really good spot. read more

The owner is the fucking best!!!! Service is great, chill nice relaxed vibe, highly recommend 10/10

I have read mixed reviews of this establishment so I must be clear I HAVE ONLY ORDER FOOD FROM AMAZON NOW!!! I ordered a Stromboli with mushrooms, banana pepper, pepperoni and sausage. This was one of the most amazing Stromboli I have had in Columbus, OH. The visual was EXACTLY as it was on their menu (when do you ever get that!). It smelled so amazing, my friend who does not eat pork was so pressured he needed to leave. The crust was a crispy outer layer with a soft cEnter dough. The taste.... oh the taste .... The veggies had a fresh crunch yet tenderness that gave the texture of fresh vegetables from the garden. The dipping sauce (2 serving cups )were a great balance of sweet tomatoes and spice, combined with herbal essence. Do you know what real Italian sauce is without just burying flavor in garlic?? So... try it! I know you hear me... or is that you (reading aloud?) read more

Outstanding! I don't know what the other lady was talking about when she says the regulars here are scary, they all seemed pretty down to earth and friendly to me. I really don't love sports bars, because I don't follow sports, but I really like this place. The bartenders know what they're doing and the pizza is delicious. Laid back, easy going, fun little joint! read more

In April 2016, my wife was assaulted at My Bar by an obviously over-served patron. The guest was so intoxicated that he shoved me into my wife, who fell off her bar stool and suffered a concussion when her head plummeted to the concrete floor. I already asked for assistance from the bartender to intervene prior to this event, but he refused. When I and the Columbus prosecutor's office went to seek the video of the incident, we were informed the tapes of the night (and, actually, the entire year) were "accidentally" erased. The bartenders refused to cooperate with the prosecutor's office and the case was unfortunately closed. We were left with $7K in medical bills, and Chris Hale, the owner (whom we considered as a family friend for several years) refused any responsibility of the event on behalf of his business interests. The bar is now up for sale. As a regular, I can attest that the Hales stopped caring about this establishment after opening Hale's Ales in Hilliard aa it shows in the bar food and staff. After years of patronizing this establishment, we will never, ever, return. I advise anyone that values their safety, number one, and a decent bar experience, number two, to avoid this place as much as possible. read more

I stumbled upon this place & couldn't have had a better experience. The bartender Tiffany was so attentive & accommodating. Also ran into the owners Tiffany & Paul. They were the nicest people ever. I was just looking for a drink & found a family. Thank you so much! read more

My Bar 161 - Thanks for the hospitality! Go Bucks! - Bars Near Me - Columbus, Ohio

We drive by My Bar 161 often and keep meaning to go in; we finally did on a Thursday, mid-afternoon/early evening. The happy hour isn't the best, but the location, atmosphere (low key), and employees are worth going back. The location is accessible, but they aren't able to have signage by the street so you do have to look for it since it's in a plaza. The bar is larger inside than it looks on the outside and it has more TVs than you can imagine. Each TV is playing something different, so if you're looking for a specific game (international or stateside), then they will have it I'm sure! When we walked into the bar there were only a few people around the bar. They were older, but friendly. The bartender was very nice! She introduced herself and asked if it was our first time there - we said "yes". She welcomed us, asked us our names, and chatted with us for a few minutes. When the father of the owner came into the bar, she brought him over to introduce us and he then chatted with us for a few minutes (found out they're opening another bar off of Fishinger soon). When another bartender came in for work, they brought her over and introduced us to her! I was so impressed! They remembered our names throughout the time we were there and made sure to make us feel welcomed. We did get food (appetizers and a meal). They weren't amazing, but they were good for bar food. They make some of their items in house (e.g., spinach artichoke dip). As time went by (we spent about 3 hours there), more people started coming in; by the time we left, the bar stools were almost full (not many sitting at the tables throughout the bar though). In the end, I would certainly go back. The drinks were good (can't really mess up a whiskey and coke...) and reasonably priced (tall was about $3.50) They have different specials each night... Wednesdays are trivia night (7 p.m.?) and Thursdays are Karaoke night (and 1/2 off appetizers after 10 p.m.). I would recommend checking it out. read more

LOVE this spot!!! Some friends meet up here for every Saints game that doesn't make it on tv. They reserve a corner for us; ever so often we get sound too. It's always a good time! The service is usually pretty good. There is usually a crowd without it being crowded....so that might slow the staff down a smidgen. Food is fantastic. Strombolli and funnel fries with caramel dipping sauce are my favorites. Their burgers are big and juicy. I am satisfied with their beer list...the variety is better than you'd expect. They have a full bar. Prices are fair, for sure. read more

I've been here twice now... Neither time with express intent. However, I have no regrets. One time I came by on Christmas Eve or something. A friend and I were looking for something 'close' and we drove all the way out to 161 from North Arlington before we found a place that was open. The second visit was chosen by the birthday girl. My Bar might surprise you with the interior. It is nicer than most strip mall bars. But, at the end of the day, it's still a strip mall bar off Sawmill Road, amirite!?! Inexpensive drinks, clean, spacious, good service. The waitresses are cute if you're into that kind of thing. read more

I don't know that we ever knew My Bar had food until we found an Entertainment Book coupon. One of my work sites is close by, and we stopped here after a work event. Definitely a low-key type of place, at least while we were there. All kinds of sports events on the many TVs, and there is a definite neighborhood sports-bar/dive-bar feel. Our server was initially a bit standoffish, but warmed up as we ordered more drinks and food. They have a few taps, with one or two local/Ohio beers. The food - wings, pepperoni rolls, stromboli, calzones, subs, etc. - was decent. We had wings and subs, BBQ wings and an Italian sub for me. The spouse and I were pleasantly surprised, and would certainly come back if we were up in the area and craving subs or wings. read more

Cool bar. Workers are friendly. Chill place and not too over crowded. Only reason I gave it four stars is because there's not a lot to do there. read more

We had Jody as a bartender and she served our drinks well but when it came time for all of our tabs she completely messed them up and refused to fix them. Completely unprofessional. I will not be going back. read more

Love My Bar 161. Great bar food, always friendly, owners are awesome. Live music in Fridays is mellow and fun. Highly recommend

Came here for a few drinks on a Saturday night, I really wanted to like this place because its near where I live. The mixed drinks weren't great, couldn't finish the Long Island (tasted DISGUSTING). Waitress was basically nonexistent. Fried pickles and moz sticks were good though. read more

Bartender Jody charged me for someone else's tab she basically said "you'll see her again and she can pay you back." So I was charged an extra almost $5 because of her mistake. She lost my business as well as the friends with me, because she also up charged them by $5. read more

The food was ok. The service.....what service? Took forever to get served. They barely checked on us, even after sitting with empty drinks for at least 10 minutes. We waited for at least 15 minutes to get our checks and had to go ask for them. And it wasn't busy at all. read more

Mmmmm the thought of a chicken parmesean sandwich from My Bar just warms my buttcheeks. Not to mention it's nice having somewhere to go if you live in the Sawmill/161 area, as there is not really any other bars in the immediate area. Nice place. read more

This place used to be my hang out until the new management. Now there seems to be a lot of drama with the bartenders fighting in front of the patrons. The bartenders also seemed to think it was ok to skip songs that I paid good money to hear. read more

Great spot for any occasion. Food / drink specials pretty much every day. Definitely the best bar in the area

The new owner, Paul, is working very hard to make it the best place possible and is very hands on. I suggest coming on in and meeting everyone and everyone is welcome. The bartenders are great and have very fun attitudes. The one pictured name is Jodi, tell her Your a friend of Randall. read more

One star from me and that's only because I HAVE to pick a star. Since they changed owners ,the service sucks, the food REALLY sucks, the pours suck and the sports sucks. Want to watch the Bucks football game on Saturday-go to another place. . When you have to ask to put on the Indians baseball game -not a place I want to spend my money knowing they really aren't interested in sports... Used to be a great place to watch football games... read more

Good local bar. Good friends and great Stromboli! New ownership has done a great job!

Great food! Friendly staff. Had my husbands 50th birthday here. Excellent! Trivia, karaoke, lots of tvs.

If you are looking for a hole in the wall this is a solid spot when on the road. 10 beers on tap and friendly staff. Was a little unimpressed with a local craft offering and poof a flight of others show up! I will be back read more

Love this place... Jodi is the best! She is friendly, accommodating and fun! she is why we stop in! Best calzones and appetizers!

I started coming to My Bar right around the holidays. There is a perfect balance of a sports and neighborhood bar feel.. The locals are nice and friendly and you need only come a few times and everyone knows your name; very "homey". I normally come a couple of times a week and not necessarily the same nights. The times I have been at My Bar, Jodi, was the bartender. She is very sweet, personable and above all extremely professional. She does a great job at making you feel comfortable and that "your order" is the most important one. If Jodi is the standard then My Bar is in great shape with their bartenders!!! read more

It's under new management and the food is very good. Especially the meatball sub and Stromboli.

Came here in here last night to watch overtime of the hockey game. It was a Wednesday night, so it wasnt very busy. The bartender was non-existent when I first got there. However, they had a ton of TVs and it was easy to find a good seat in front of the hockey game. A giant glass of Miller Lite for $3 didnt hurt things, either. I didnt try the food, but heard that its pretty good. read more

My fourth time there.. read many reviews that weren't too friendly, but said they were wrong......... I am done with this place. The bartenders cater to regulars who are grossly overserved.. One bartender Angela, cared more for smoking out back or Keno than any patron's wish. The kitchen cook is seen reading a book in the front of the house, and drinking from a competitor's drink cup, which does not instill confidence. I am not going to return, and I will steer my constituents away from this place which is on it's way out! unless the low-lifes who fill 1/5th of seats will keep it floating...no chance. read more

The owner of this bar is RUDE and arrogant! As I one month breast cancer survivor in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I made the biggest mistake of my life choosing My Bar over the 3,000 plus bars in Columbus to watch the world historic World Series game 1 between the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs! This bar was completely full with people in baseball attire yet this jerk continued to show and have the volume up on a regular Cavs game instead of the World Series because as he vocalized the Cavs were the champs! I am a Cav fans but this was a historical event for the World Series yet this jerk did not turn the sound on until after the team introductions were missed. I looked at my bank statement when I got home and have spent an average of $500 a month at this bar prior to this BUT NEVER AGAIN! He will never get another dime of my hard earn money and I will tell anyone and everybody who will listen how disrespectful this owner is to his patrons!!!!! The servers are always lovely but they are working for an absolute disgusting owner who doesn't honor tradition or take his customers interest at heart! read more
