Great burger! I had the Hatch burger w/ pepper jack cheese. Fresh, crisp salad stuff and a terrific low heat from the chilis. Highly recommended! Not busy at lunch but a good value and quick service. read more

Stopped by Byrne's during an OSU football game for a drink and was pleasantly surprised. The inside is much bigger than it appears from the outside. They have a decent amount of parking spots just adjacent to the building. There is a large bar top and several different seating options (booths, high top tables, regular tables). There are multiple TV's throughout, and two dart boards in the back. On game days, they offer a $4 20oz draft Coors Light -- enough said! I also ordered the spicy pork wontons to-go. I'm generally a fan of spicy food, but these were hot with a capital H, so beware. Otherwise, the atmosphere was fun and they had some cool decor on the walls all contributing to the Irish vibes. My favorite neighborhood bar. I can't rave enough about this place. Dive bar with live music, darts and delicious food. I've tried a handful of items on the menu and they are all great. Servings are huge as well. The wontons are impeccable, salads are fresh and huge. Wings great, apps great and then having granddads pizza connected is really the cherry on top. read more

We visited the pub on Friday night where the ambiance was brewing with life. The bar service was quick with drinks and went around keeping the tables clean. The food I would recommend is the sauerkraut balls as those were extremely tasty especially with the sauce that it comes with. They had a live band playing which was good music. All in all a great experience. read more

The food is actually quite good at Byrne's Pub. The ingredients are quality, the portions are large and everything is tasty. I've been going with friends to their Monday night trivia for the last couple months. The trivia play is deep the have 12 or more teams every Monday I've been. It's a great time. There are 6 rounds of three trivia questions and two bonus type questions one at the midway one at the end. The only bad part is waiting for food trivia night can be long. Everyone arrives about the same time and orders about the same time. So I am sure their kitchen gets slammed. I'll definitely be back! read more

4 Stars / 4 Reasons. It's a fun, low-key neighborhood bar. Food and drink prices are reasonable. They have a good sized food menu. Pizza and subs are available from Grandad's next door. I wouldn't call it a pub, nope it's more of a casual neighborhood bar that attracts a solid crowd of Gen X'ers with some Millennials and Boomers in the mix. Byrne's is a full service bar and they can make most any drink you might want. Their food menu is pretty solid and their prices are reasonable too. If you were to ask be for recommendations on what to eat I'd tell you to get the Hot Italian, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Fish and Chips or some of those Spicy Thai Chili Wings (tastes like General Tsos). Don't forget to try their tots too. Another awesome thing is that Grandad's Pizza is right next door and they offer a solid pie that would probably remind you of Donatos. Order from the bartender or your server and they'll bring it over to you. If you're a casual type of person looking for a good place to watch a game, enjoy some quiet time during the early afternoon or to listen to some live music on select evenings. Amazing food; ordered the steak quesadilla and steak fries. The ambiance was very loud and caters to sports fans. The service was good but there were no servers the night so it did take a little longer. Would definitely take food to go in the future. There was a questionable remark made by one of the male bartenders but the women were great! read more

Byrnes is a terrific neighborhood pub. Great food and regulars. While they do have Grandads right next door, don't sleep on the food they provide there. It's super good. I've gotten a variety of things but I really enjoy the pub sub (standard Italian sub) and the chicken & dumplings. They have a lot of options actually. The pours are usually quite heavy (never a bad thing lol) and they typically have bands on weekends. Trivia and darts throughout the week. It's a bar I frequent and will continue to do so! read more

This is a great local place. We went there to watch the football games. It's a sports bar, but it's family owned and the family actively works as the staff which is pretty cool. The quesadilla was decent - I ate the entire thing but I'd suggest getting the pizza from next door. It's called, Grandads pizza and they serve it at the pub, so you don't have to actually go next door to get it! I tried my first Reuben and I was HOOKED! I have never had one in my life and after eating the Reuben at Byrnes, I ended up making them at home! The chicken quesadilla was nothing special, but of course, I ate the whole thing! It was really good when dipped in the salsa, sour cream, and guac! read more

Headed to Byrnes on a weeknight after the music level at Woodlands was deafening. I was with friends I hadn't seen in awhile so we wanted to catch up and quickly learned that Woodlands wouldn't be the right place. They suggested we walk over to Byrnes. I had never heard of it but I was up for it. We walked in and the vibe was so much better!! Super chill. You could tell you were around lots of down to Earth folks. There were many sipping at drinks and catching up like us and then lots playing darts and other games. There was music, but nothing loud at all. I really appreciated the vibe! We sat at a booth and after a little while we figured we should go to the bar and ask for some help. Soon after, Brian came over. He was quickly able to get us drinks. I love that they have the Platform rotating sour on the menu since that's always my go to. This particular time it was Death by Disco, so I ordered that. Brian soon brought our drinks out and we chatted with him. It turns out that he and his brothers have owned this bar for over 20 years! I was very impressed! We sat at our booth through another round just catching up and having fun! When we went to go cash out, we found out that Brian got our first round on the house. How AWESOME is that?! All in all, I cannot say enough good things about the atmosphere here at Byrnes. And the owners obviously know how to treat their customers...hence why they've been in business so long! I'd love to go back soon and get some grub next time! I will for sure be back! read more

Solid dive bar with a fabulous local feel. This spot is located right off third avenue next to Grandad's Pizza. They have a little parking lot to the right of the building and a nice patio out front facing the street. When you walk in, it's everything you want in a dive bar. It's dimly lit, outdated, and full of locals... the kind that remind you of hanging out with your drunk uncle (aka your favorite uncle). The drinks are cheap, they often have live music as entertainment, and its overall a truly great, chill spot. If this is your type of vibe, you'll love it. We had an impromptu visit of 10 of us. 7 of our guest had developmental disabilities. Our waitress was so kind and patient with our entire group. Food was slower than most restaurants but in their defense they only had one cook and we surprised them on a Sunday early afternoon! Good came out great. My specific sandwich was over cooked. The waitress corrected my tab, and as I was leaving the cook took it upon himself to make me a new sandwich to go! Will definitely be coming back. read more

Went yesterday to hear our local folk singer Bill Cohen sing some tunes! Another gentleman played banjo along with him. The sing along was fun and Byrne Pub was the perfect place to host the event. We have come here for St. Patrick's Day for years but will think twice before coming again. The new and slightly smaller tent was fine and food choices out there were tasty. However, the $20 cover charge was ridiculous. I sweared I paid $10 in 2017 and the bands were the same ones. Why the steep increase? I realize this day is a busy one but the ladies room was horrible too. I'm only giving three stars because the regular staff is great and way cool having Leo come and sing the Irish national anthem at the end of the evening. read more

Onion rings. That's it. That's the post. It's hard to resist coming here for a pizza and beer, but on the days when I've mustered up the courage to do so, I get the onion rings and the wings. Super duper bonus that they let your order flats only! The wings are saucy and the onion rings are crispy. It's your vision of a townie dive bar. Clearly local patrons, no nonsense, quick service. I visited Byrne's Pub for the first time last week for a friend's birthday. Not exactly my kind of place, but I do see its merits including its live music, overall laid back atmosphere and location next to Grandad's Pizza. Once the bluegrass band started playing, it felt like I was transported into a dive bar in the Appalachian Mountains. A unique experience for me. A little out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. The interior is a bit dingy, as is the restroom which uses a shower curtain as a makeshift stall. That threw me off just a little. I was there on a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded. Service was on point. I can't speak too much on the food as I ate beforehand. Beer selection was a little disappointing to me and average at best. This is more of a Yuengling and Bud light kind of bar. There are a few craft brews on draft, but not many. I may come back to check out another bluegrass band. The live music is the bar's main attraction. read more

Byrne's is a dive bar that is best to visit on St. Patrick's Day or other big holiday. I have problems with some of the service. They usually charge a cover. It's all of the time, even when they have the traditional Irish bands who aren't really good. Some of the bartenders suck, and it can be really slow. It has a food menu but that's not why you're here. It has mostly bar food but there are some healthier options. The veggie wrap is $7. It's probably the healthiest thing you can put in your mouth here. The rest of the menu is mostly fryer shit you're better off avoiding. It has a good happy hour. It lasts from 11 to 7. The bar area is nice but beyond that it gets icky. It's also pretty nasty in the bathrooms. The men's room features a shower curtain as a door for a stall. I wouldn't recommend using the toilets. The best option is to piss outside the bar. It really smells bad in there and the curtain is usually soaked. You should practice your ability to hold it before coming here. It has a pretty nice beer selection. They also allow food from Grandad's Pizza. The St. Patrick's Day festival is the best time to come here. It can get pretty crazy for that. They have darts and pool tables, and it's popular with sports fans and those not trying to be cool. I recommend Byrne's for a St. Patrick's celebration. It's an Irish bar of course. You have to go to an authentic bar like this and not Flanagan's or some bullshit bar like that. read more

Kind of stinky, but you'll have that after the smoking ban. Byrne's is a great neighborhood bar, and one of the best places to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!!! It's a beer place. Get a Guiness, it's fitting. Or Jamison on the rocks, you'll be very much respected. Leave your designer jeans at home. If you wear anything too nice, you might get some nasty, judgmental stares. It's almost like the worse you dress the more popular you are. Hmm, I kind of dig that! If you're hungry, they do have the free popcorn machine. Bet even better, they are connected to Grandad's Pizza! Hooray! Order a slice or a whole pie for your group...or yourself on your way out. I recommend anything with added banana peppers. read more

Thank God for Columbus's no-smoking laws! It used to be near-impossible to literally breathe in Byrnes, but now one can at least inhale properly, though the smoke of decades past is firmly embedded in the very fabric of the building! For some reason, I personally never connected with Byrnes, probably because I'm not much of a beer drinker, but a lot of my friends are- and they certainly appreciate the large number of imported brews available on tap. Byrne's doesn't serve food, but patrons are allowed to bring in pizza from neighboring Grandad's Pizza (which is great, by thte way!) and have popcorn free for the taking, so at least there's something to sop up the booze. Byrne's is a Grandview favorite and is definitely a happening place on St. Patties day. But it's not "trendy" happening, like many of the bars along nearby Grandview Avenue. It's more of a casual happening. The clientele are a little younger than at the places that I go, but the twenty-somethings that frequent Byrnes definitely keep it real. read more

Byrne's Pub would be highly rated in just about location, in any city, because it captures all things a day/night tavern needs to offer its large patron base. Food is really delicious and served in American proportions (sizeable helping). The inside atmosphere is married well with a long bar starting as you enter the front door, to a split of a very large room by a wall dividing right and left. The left side has ample table seating because there is often live music on good, adequate stage many nights. So right side, music is playing in background. Left side - you're seeing live entertainment. There is an outdoor patio that seats about 30 or so peeps. Parking is trickier but if you know the Grandview neighborhood, street parking works. And a walk to Byrne's is, up to now in April 2022, safe in the neighborhood. You might find a spot on-sight if you circle around enough times. YES! I made it to Byrne's for a Meetup Gathering to celebrate a friend's birthday. We all met around 6 on a Friday evening, thus we were still able to grab a few table before the regulars started settling in. Nothing showy or ornate. Wooden tables and chairs. A small stage area for live music. I was unable to stay long enough to hear the band start up (looks like there's some form of entertainment or karaoke every night of the week). We were all pretty hungry, and noticed a piece of paper that said to order Grandad's at the bar. The one bar attendant was polite, took our order and started a separate tab for pizza so we could figure it out later. Parking isn't really an issue. There are a few spots right in front of Byrne's.
