I've been here several times, but I'm writing this review after my most recent visit with my mom. We came in for a drink or two and some lunch as a break from moving apartments, and everything was just fantastic. I had a burger and waffle fries, which were both cooked perfectly and the fries were seasoned in a way I absolutely love. Mom had the Wedge Salad, sub bleu cheese dressing, with an added rosemary chicken breast, which was DIRT cheap to put on and delicious. We both also split an order of 5 wings extra crispy, which were cooked exactly how we'd hoped. Mom is very particular about her sauces/dressings, so the fact that she said A: the bleu was great and B: the buffalo was the best buffalo sauce she's had out in years is nothing to scoff at. In terms of service, Aubrey did a great job, she was attentive, refilling waters whenever possible, and making sure we were happy. Drinks were cheap and well made. .... If you're looking for cute friendly server or bartender to tell you how amazing you are this is not that place for you. However this is a great place for some depending on what you like. I will first start off with the food everything I've been told from other people the food was amazing at this place so I had to come here to try it out this place place. I had an impossible Burger and one of the best impossible burgers I've ever had it was amazing that I got the food so quickly even though the bar was packed full of people. The service was pretty interesting because it's very difficult to understand how the food works if you've never been here before. I set at the table for a while had no idea you have to go to the bar to order food. But when I did it took a minute because everybody's really focused on their job and nothing wrong with that and they were focused on what they were doing here and they were kind and had good demeanor. So Josh did do a good job! This place gives you a Cleveland vibe makes you feel like you're at the bar in the stadium of a football team a great place to go if you want a stadium like atmosphere it'll try to come here thinking you can have a quiet one-on-one conversation with someone but a great place to high five another fan or banter the opposing team. The technology is slightly behind so no tap to pay option here if you're trying to use your smartphone. I don't even know if they had Wi-Fi I didn't see it so if you left technology bars probably not the spot. But this place is a great place to go see a big game like a playoff game or any big sports game TVs are everywhere except the center of the bar for most people order food so if you do that you will be able to watch the game well. Parking is a big challenge probably the biggest reason why I won't be here often. The bathrooms were clean I even saw a marble sink countertop. So this is a mixed bag of reviews really 3.4 stars this bar has plenty of business and people so I'm sure it doesn't need my review to tip the scale on new business. I really like this place and they have good food and company and drinks. I got a whole big pizza for myself because it was sounding good to me, then I ate about half of it because it was too good but I got too full to go on. But it made for amazing leftovers! Came here to watch the Rose Bowl game with some friends. Great atmosphere! Our pizza came out in a timely manner, and it was great! Only comment I would make is we were only able to find a seat in their outdoor enclosed patio area, and the heater broke so it was freezing! But overall great experience! GO BUCKS! read more

I went to this bar last weekend for the Ohio State vs. MSU game and it was a great time. I went with a couple of friends and one of them drove so there is parking on streets nearby. We ended up in the basement area of the bar which had more room since it was a busy game day. The basement was darker, but still a good vibe. The service was great and the drinks aren't overpriced. We got their Buffalo chicken pizza and it was amazzinnngggg. I would definitely go back there to watch another game. My experience was great! read more

This place is pretty neat. Major Irish vibes, with green-painted walls and decor to match. They have decent seating throughout, with spots that all face the TV's. There is also a wrap-around patio with 4-top tables on the outside. When we went (7/2/21), we were informed that there are no waiters, instead you order everything at the bar and take it back to your seats. Honestly, I wish more pubs operated like this as it is super easy. We got the mac and cheese bites as an appetizer, which were pretty good. Although, the ranch that came with it was pretty runny so it made a bit of a mess trying to dip and eat. We sat inside and watched a game for a bit, and all of the bartenders were pretty nice. The only downside is that it was a bit pricey. Example, the mac and cheese bites were $8.99 and we got 7 'bites'. The drinks were also a bit more pricey than to be expected. My SO got a 'High Noon' that was ~$7.50. Regardless, given its location we will be back, but lower prices would be appreciated! read more

If you're looking for the quintessential neighborhood bar, this is it! So lucky it's my "local" as I live in the neighborhood. TBH I don't drink much so my bar-going days have super slowed down, but I will come for (or takeout) the food here allll day long! Pizza is crazy good (I'm looking at you, Spicy Italiano pizza), Turkey burger, 50/50 sliders and cheese curds are all amazing. It's a fun spot for watching sports or just hanging with friends. I give 3 stars because the bartenders are great and the drinks are cheap. But it has to be one of the noisiest bars I have ever been to. The women scream and the guys are so drunk and into sports that they scream like banshees when a big play happens. Unfortunately it's the only bar within walking distance so I deal with it. Zeno's is a great, classic neighborhood bar. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is the perfect spot to watch a sporting event or just grab a beer with friends. They have a large menu with a wide variety of options. We started with the jalapeño poppers which came out piping hot and were beyond delicious - would definitely recommend these! If you're looking for a classic, neighborhood bar then look no further, Zeno's is definitely your jam. This place is accurately described as a dive bar and happens to be right in the heart of the Victorian Village off Third Ave. I usually visit after a fun trip to Harrison's. They are only a block apart from each other and the two bars make for a fun evening out. When you walk into Zeno's it immediately screams old school. There's a long wooden bar down the left side of the building, there's a ton of booths and tables, it's even split level! Televisions line the top of the bar and there's a pool table in the back towards the restrooms. I've never eaten here but I've definitely thrown back a few beverages. The prices are comparable to other spots in the area and the bartenders keep them coming. The music is also always on point. All in all, I have a fun time here and I bet you will too! read more

I had coworkers order my some BBQ wings from here during lunch and when I received my meal, my wings dang near had no BBQ sauce. I was pissed and upset. I don't know why this place only has 3.5 stars on here. This is hands down my favorite local bar in all of Columbus. I always make it a point to stop in when I'm in town visiting (however rare that currently is with covid). This bar is dark, has the perfect feel to watch football on Sunday or hit the touchtunes on a Saturday night. They have removed the pool tables to add extra seating space to social distance. If it's nice outside they also installed a patio space earlier this year! Perk- they have they're own parking lot in the back which is great for when 3rd is filled. There is also another bar located in the basement of Zeno's called Dicks Dive. It used to be the Zeno's rental space until it was sold to be redone and actually used more! I'll miss the gross basement as I had a moving away party there as a final hurrah and it was probably one of the last parties ever down there. It's always order at the bar for food and drinks. The drafts change for the season and they support local beers as they always have CBC on tap and I just noticed they added a Saucy Brew Works tap for the new brewery that went in a block away! I'd you're hungry I highly suggest the pizza. The regular cheese and pep is really good. read more

Zeno's is a bar that has some cheaper but poor beer selection. I still would never make this my regular hangout. There's the option to play pool if there's not such a crowd. It's so packed on weekends. The patrons on Saturday night were mostly bros with few unattached ladies. It also has a cool Pac-Man machine. This is especially fun to play when wasted, or simply watching others try. The floor setup is pretty bad. There's a lower and narrow floor that runs along the bar, and there's the higher level that features the pool tables. It makes it really hard to make it from the entrance to the bathrooms in the back. The Saturday night we went, there was literally a wall of people grinding or chillaxing. I could not move without being elbowed and walked into. The nights and weekends though still seem the best time to go, because it's downright dead at other times. If you come at night on the weekends you might hate it. There's literally no room to move and everyone's crowding the bar. The highest praise I'll bestow upon Zeno's is that they finally seem to be enforcing the smoking ban. I had not noticed that horrible smell, and people were actually going outside to smoke. There are still too many bars that are better to make this a regular stop. read more

Fortunatly we were too early to notice the drunken dive bar scene or the DJ, mondays at 5pm seems a safe time to go. It was clean and fairly empty except for a few drunks at the bar, totally acceptable or else it would have been too strange. Service was awesome, we came for the Big Dick Allen Challenge since I always love seeing my man test his limits and free food is always great. We were told the owner makes and serves it himself so they had to call him in. Great guy and the burger looked yummy as well as the fries! Now its a 6 pound burger with beef, turkey, bologne and ham along with a pound of chili cheese steak fries, it actually looked quite appealing, unlike the dagwood challenge at the Ohio Deli, which he also made but tasted like crap. Not as great as the Thurmanator or as easy to finish but I'm proud to say my husband was the second EVER to finish the platter since they started the Challenge in 1984! Meaning, the meal is free, along with a picture on the wall of fame and a shirt. Well since only one other person has made it, they didn't actually have wall of fame or shirts made, so this will be sent to us but it was a fun evening. I had a regular burger which was spiced really well and a salad, also pretty good for a dive bar which fresh croutons and housemade balsamic. For a person that can always appreciate a good dive bar, I still have trouble giving this place any credit whatsoever. The occasional shady drifter type character in the corner always lends a bit of character to any dive bar, but the sheer number of them in this place is ludicrous at times. Perhaps that would explain the mysterious odor that covers you like a filthy blanket as soon as you set foot in the door. Seriously, what the hell is that? The only time I've encountered anything that grotesque is when I found a concoction of flat beer,rain water, vomit, and cigarette butts in a trash can behind my house after a party that raged until six in the morning. Perhaps one of the regulars soiled himself and fell asleep at a booth and never wok up? We'll never know, which is a reality that I'm OK with. That being said, the thought of eating in this place is out of the question. A liquid lunch is the only thing that works in a place like this, and after taking in crowd that calls Zeno's home, you can tell that it's a popular choice. It's kind of perplexing how such a scummy bar can be located in one of the most aesthetically pleasing neighborhoods (Victorian Village) in Columbus proper. The drinks here are on the cheap side, but the selection is nothing worth noting. It's hard to fault Zeno's for that- would you trust a mint julep or a dirty martini in a place like this? I think not. The only redeeming factor of this place is it's complete lack of pretense. If you just got laid off from your 3rd shift job manning a blast furnace and are in the mood to drink until you pass out, this is the place to do it. No worries about anyone passing judgment on you for that. Come to think of it, this would be the perfect venue for meeting someone you found on the "Casual Encounters" section of craigslist. Never, ever, ever, have I stopped and said "you know where I want to go hang out? ZENO'S!" I always blame one (or several) of my friends, a few of whom live in the area/walking distance of Zeno's. The guys? As Luke said, Chauch. Choche? Whatever. You know exactly what I mean. Have a lady friend? Hope she doesn't mind every other random dude rubbing up on her. Let her go to the bar by herself? Zeno's is a great neighborhood bar right in the middle of Harrison West/Victorian Village and across from Katalina's. It's definitely a dive, but if you're from the area, you'll definitely run into people you know, and if not, you'll still have a fun time. This isn't usually a stay all night kind of bar. I'm either here to start off the night, or I'm here to end the night, and occasionally, I'll stop in during the week to watch some games, since they have a bunch of TVs. The food here is your pretty average bar food, and I've only had it a handful of times, but it's pretty great when you've been drinking. I was here last night, and the pizza looked pretty tasty. They actually have an event space downstairs that you can rent out, and I've actually been down for a birthday, and we had a great time. There's a separate bar down there as well as more TVs, but be wary of the bathrooms if you're super tall, because you'll definitely need to crouch down in the downstairs ones! Honestly, this bar serves it's purpose of bringing people in the neighborhood together and serving decent draft beers for cheap (they have about 20 on tap). It can be pretty busy on the weekends toward the 11-1 pm range, since it's not very big, and the bar, while lengthy, is pretty narrow. The bartenders are pretty cool and don't put up with much shit, and the place itself has been here forever, so they're obviously doing something right. I'd recommend coming at night though, because it can be pretty boring during the day if there's not a big game on. read more
