The Railhouse in East Market is a great place to come and have a drink. You can come and get food from the East Market which has a variety of different types of food. The drinks at Railhouse are always good. Yesterday, I went with a group of friends to play trivia. They have trivia every Wednesday evening at 6:45 pm. Every team gets a buzzer and the game gets pretty competitive due to the amazing host Matt. Will definitely be back. Railhouse has a really awesome vibe and I found out yesterday they have a popcorn machine.

Came here for lunch at one of the booths and ate in the Railhouse ordering amazing cocktails with the best service. I had a Bloody Mary and it was only $6 and absolutely delicious! This is the best seating in the market and so nice that you can order your food from an outside vendor and come here to enjoy the great seating!

I've visited the Railhouse twice now. Once during happy hour and once on a Friday night during the summer. The interior is pretty cool with brick walls and high ceilings. The exterior has a wraparound balcony with seating. During happy hour they have specials on local spirits which I think is pretty cool-- I'd love to see more of this around town. Local businesses should support each other! When I visited during happy hour, the cocktail I had was ok but not incredible. We also waited quite a long time for the bartender to greet us. When we walked in, there wasn't any staff in the bar for several minutes. It was dead and there was only one person in the bar, but they said there hadn't been any staff present for a few. I'm taking this with a grain of salt because there was only one person working when she eventually did come back and it's obviously got to be difficult to even take a restroom break when you're the only one working. She was nice, but by the time we left another employee had arrived and I still had to walk up to the bar to cash out. Since it's the only place in the East Market to sit down comfortably and hang while you eat your goodies from other vendors, I'll probably return at some point. I don't think I would go out of my way to head over.

The other reviews nailed it. It is such a cool space but seems like an afterthought. Way understaffed (one bartender) and only four cocktail options on the menu. Everything else on the menu is the basics...beer, wine, canned stuff (ie White Claw). Has a lot of potential, but at least needs better music and additional staffing.

Love the high ceilings, brick walls, and industrial look and feel of this space. Considering East Market is surrounded by the brick houses of Old Towne East, the space has been utilized to its fullest, with a great wrap-around deck off The Railhouse. There's big screen TVs around - great for catching some World Cup games. I like how this bar and cocktail space is at one end of the building, so people can get food and sit down, order a drink, and be out of the way of people roaming the food stalls.

This place looks fabulous. The ambiance is nice. Decor is nice. All high seating. No booth. The bar looks nice. You can bring food in. That's nice. Drinks are a little expensive. They're can be watered down a little services. Excellent. However it's just a maybe for me. I just say that because I wasn't really wild and a lot of times when you go you know during happy hour time a lot of the other taverns inside the East market are closed. So if you want food you will really have a limited choice. Drink wise it is a full bar. You going to pay a little bit more for your drink but that's understandable because of the location but it wasn't something that I just felt like man I got to get back there for happy hour or man. That's a group of people go for cocktails. If we're in that area I could see that parking is easy but walk up is easy. They're awesome. Other options around that area that prices are about the same as well. So it's a maybe for me but you will get a good ambiance good decor in great service. If you don't like high chair seating, it can be uncomfortable. If you want more of a booth or a soft chair. Just know that going in but it's a maybe for me

Patio overlooking what will be a new brewery pub.

Well, coffee bar closes around 1PM, and they flip it to bar time until closing. We were warmly greeted by the bartender (not sure if part owner since there may be a few according to the menu's gratitudes). This bar is chic with a dark academia presence. I didn't take a lot of pics, since I was one of a few ppl there. However, they lean into the Lion theme beautifully. This place is manly, while have a soft essence... who doesn't love chandeliers. On to the offerings, it's a small menu, that appears to be seasonal... small menus means you're able to perfect things ;) My husband and I ordered a snack plate, with 'Spressy and Double Entendre on the side. Snack plate was served in gold dish: roasted salted cashews, toasted buffalo ranch corn, salted caramel chocolate covered popcorn. An elegant nod to beer nuts. I was a stereotypical millennial and ordered a 'Spressy: vanilla vodka, coffee, cacao, tonka; a little morning pick me up, but at night. Fantastic pull, smooth. My husband ordered Double Entendre: bourbon, pistachio, cacao; pistachio-y old fashioned. Bourbon is NOT my drink of choice, but I can tell you the prep showed great attention to detail; beautifully crafted clean, square shaved side, ice cube to perfectly chill the drink. As stated, this place is beautifully chic, with elevated drinks. The demasque wallpaper and gold accents are definitely my vibe. I look forward to returning and trying their coffee offerings.

That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.

I asked him the difference between two of the bocks they had on tap (a helles bock and a maibock...debately the same style, if not very similar) and he said "how strong the Belgian yeasts are" in a very confident tone. I told him I had never heard of bocks being made with Belgian yeasts, and he said it's "a Cincinatti thing". We hit up several breweries on a recent trip to Columbus, and Hoster was my favorite beer of the trip. It was just well made, good tasting beer - nothing crazy. To top it off, there's bottomless self-serve popcorn and a vintage jukebox topped with a bowl of free quarters to play your favorite selctions from the decades. The collections of artifacts from Hoster's storied histories, make the walk to the bathroom like a visit to a mini-museum. I loved the homey decor and selection of tables, barstools, and comfy chairs. This place was somewhat family friendly, but it's not a huge space, so it's not great for tots that like to run around. I believe there might have been soooome seasonal outdoor seating, but nothing crazy. Lots of parking and easily accessible. The bartender was super welcoming, friendly, and generous!
