Stayed at the Canopy and wanted a late night bite to eat. We come down to the convention center all the time for volleyball tournaments and didn't even know this place existed! It is our type of bar... Small and just a nice little place to hang out. Bartender was super friendly and service was great. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it was so fresh and delicious. My husband ordered a Smashburger and thought it was really good. This is an adorable pub in downtown Columbus. It is in a skinny corner building like one you would think of being in England. Seat yourself, they have a bar, high-tops, tables, and a some outdoor seating available. The staff are friendly and attentive. We ordered the loaded buffalo chicken sweet potato fries and the philly cheesesteak. The fries were delicious and not too spicy. They have create your own cheesesteaks, where you choose the meat, cheese, and toppings. It was really yummy. I enjoyed the Flatiron Tavern because of the history and was closed briefly before it came back in business. I had the Patty Melt with Cheddar with Onion Pedals awhich was worth paying a little more than getting Lays chips and a Diet Coke. One person at my table had the Italian Sausage which was a little spicy and onion pedals, while two others had the Smash Burger with cheese and Fries. I enjoyed my Patty Melt and Onion Pedals with horseradish sauce. Next time, I will get The Flatiron Cuban sandwich and Onion Pedals and they have their own Philly sandwiches too. Located on Nationwide Dr near the convention center, there is a shared parking lot in the back. The building is long and skinny, seating is a premium. There is not enough space to accommodate large groups, and you can't combine tables because of fire code in the space available. There is 1 round table that seats 5, a handful of rectangle tables that seat 4, 3 top tables near the bar, and seating along the bar. There is also limited seating outside. We arrived around 11 and there was a lot of available seating. Initially the bartender assisted us and she was friendly and accommodating. However, she forgot ours and several tables drink orders and when the waiter took over, he had to rush around to catch up. Both were super pleasant and helpful, just seemed a bit overwhelmed even tho the place was more empty than full. We ordered a build your own cheesesteak and the blue line blackened burger. Both were cooked well and really delicious. The burger was juicy and flavorful, the blue cheese sauce was yummy. The fries were good, but the star was the tater tots. I came here specifically to try the cheesesteak because everyone raved about it and I.... just do not get it. It tasted like boiled unseasoned beef and didn't have nearly enough cheese and the bread was crumbly and lacking taste. Even the side of onion petals was burnt (not crispy, I mean burnt and they tasted like carbon). At least the server was nice and the playlist was good. We won't be coming back however. read more

Came here before a concert (we're out of towners) and made a reservation, which was unnecessary but was reassuring. There were great happy houe specials; I believe my well vodka cranberry was $4.50, and many of the apps were discounted. We had the marinara sticks, which were piping hot, melty, and seasoned well. The vibe is very much a total dive bar (complimentary!!!!!) and I am a fan of anyplace where you can see your food grilled before your eyes... it's kind of like foreplay. I loved the way you can customize the cheesesteaks. I got the ribeye with cheddar cheese sauce (definitely not spray cheese), mushrooms, bell peppers, and banana peppers. It is probably in my top 5 cheesesteaks of all time. Fries were salty and crispy but not oily. If I lived here I'd be a regular. If you're fortunate enough to be local, please go! Ketchup came in packets on the side so I could put as much or as little as I wanted to my desire. Caesar salad 2/5 - This was a little sad and can skip. The lettuce leaves were really chopped up, croutons weren't the greatest and caesar dressing was nothing special. I liked that the dressing came on the side though! Sauce was not just basic sour cream and was really good paired with. My husband got the blue cheese burger and he really liked it as well. Made things very easy for us as we sat a different tables. The food was outstanding. I had their Blue Line Burger. It was very well prepared and very filling. For 14 bucks, it was well worth it. Others had everything from a different type of burger to phillys. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I felt like the pricing here was actually very good compared to other locations of similar quality food.
