Typical local Pub. The wings were delicious! Order the house salad with the bacon vinaigrette! So good and the first Time I've ever heard of it! The loaded sweet potato fries were TOO DIE FOR!!!! Very nice little bar. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and they accept the yelp coupon you get when you check in. Cons: The dude working the bar did not know his alcohol lol. I asked if they had Uncle Nearest and he was like I have no idea what that is. Then I saw they had Elijah Craig, he made me a drink of Elijah Crain and Coke. As i'm drinking, he comes back and says, "I was ringing you up for your new drink and saw that it was $25 for a 2ounce pour!" Shocked I said please give me a Jack and Coke, which ended up being $6. Listen, my bottle of of Elijah Craig was roughly $25 if that. I hate they dont put drink prices on menus anymore. I hate they do this. Additionally, I had a coupon for 15% off thanks to yelp! Visited flatiron tavern while visiting a friend in Columbus and now come every time I visit! While the spot might seem unassuming tucked in their location, it's one of those places that make you feel like a local rather than an out of Townes. I really felt at home in the space and the staff was incredibly friendly to chat with. This is a great spot to start, end, or all the in between of you night within Columbus as it has a great walkable location near hotels here, which also allows you to have a late night scene. When I see a restaurant on Yelp with 4.5 stars I expect something special! Unfortunately that didn't happen! I enjoyed the food and ate here twice during a conference at the convention Center last week. One dinner meal and one lunch meal. For the price paid, the food and selection was good but not anything out of the park. Ambience was comfortable with what appeared to be a fresh remodel to a historical building. I had the Firehouse Chicken Sandwich sided with potato chips and not French fries at $13.50. Due to a dairy allergy, I had to delete the pepper jack cheese. The Brioche bun sandwich had some heat but not overbearing. Typical brew pub fare. Service was prompt and friendly. Solid 3.5 star experience but I must have better food or value to give 4 stars. What a great little bar and really cool that it's in a historic flatiron building (built in 1910)! Randomly stopped here because I had to go to the bathroom during a bike ride lol. We ended up stopping for drinks and some food because it was around dinner time anyway. I ordered a sour on draft called the midnight Martian (from platform beer company) and it was super tasty, not too tart. My husband got the house cab that he thought was too sweet. For food the Buffalo chicken sweet potato fry appetizer is incredible. Awesome combo of spicy and savory and sweet. Mac & cheese was also delicious. Just got a small side of this but wishing we got the appetizer size. It's elbow macaroni so it looks like Kraft but the taste is definitely not! Such good cheese with the sprinkle of parmesan yum. The cucumber salad was also good though it was not enough tomatoes and too many onions. The wings were okay. We got the Cajun dry rub and I didn't care for the seasoning. Wasn't spiced/spicy enough. The chicken was very fried and I realize now that I prefer baked/grilled instead. The ranch it came with was delicious. Menu said celery but we got carrots which isn't too big of a deal but I prefer celery over carrots. read more

On day 2, we had an unpleasant experience at another place, left there, tried to order delivery. That failed. This was our first visit here to the flatiron tavern and we were pretty impressed. It's a standard local bar with a nice kitchen setup. Lot's of options for bourbon and beers on tap. Their menu looked fantastic and we sampled a few items to get a feel for their offerings. The onion petals were fantastic and their french fries were nice and crisp and cooked well. Adrienne ended up getting their spicy burger and she said the spice level was perfect, not too hot. The burger was cooked well and the toppings were great. I got the steak cheesesteak and it was pretty good. Pretty standard for this area and a TON of cheese. The beer selection was great and I ended up having a few down their list. Stopped in for the first time just over a week ago. It was close to our hotel and reviews were good. I had the House salad and tater tots and my daughter had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries. Salad was small, more like a side salad, ranch dressing was weak and the tots were ok. $12 for a side size salad! The grilled chicken sandwich was especially thin and not worth the price tag. TL;DR: Avoid for large groups and don't expect a true "reservation." I'd never been to Columbus before but was in town for a conference. I saw this place was nearby the convention center and it looked like potentially an excellent place for a group of us to go for lunch. I made a reservation for 16 several days in advance but when we arrived at the set time, the wait staff seemed caught off guard, didn't actually have any tables reserved, and only at that time did they disclose that we couldn't all actually sit together because of the narrow setup of the restaurant. We all still had a fun time getting to know one another in small groups but it was disappointing to not have the full group experience as we intended. Food was about average -- nothing to write home about. I had the chicken Caesar salad and the dressing was more vinaigrette than true Caesar. read more

Fries were crispy and done just right; the house made cherry pepper aioli was our favorite, with the horseradish mayo a close second. Another tasty app we got was pickle eggs.
