Pepperoni pizza + banana peppers & sausage

-- My go-to bar for food that actually delivers. Club 185 | German Village | Columbus, OH I came for the beer cheese fries and forgot how to leave. Club 185 has officially made the jump from "solid first visit" to "they know my fry toppings" status. This place feels like one of the few bars in Columbus that isn't chasing hype -- it's just good, consistently. If you're new, start with the beer cheese fries. $10.50 normally or $7.50 during happy hour (Mon-Fri, 4-7pm). Fresh-cut fries loaded with pot roast, jalapeños, onions, and a rich beer cheese sauce that somehow works every time. It's not just a side -- it's a gateway dish. I rotate through the sliders often, but my regulars are the meatloaf and pot roast. The meat is tender, the buns are soft, and the portioning is perfect for bar food that won't leave you feeling greasy or let down. They also have a daily specials menu that's worth skimming. I've caught the hot dog day (2 for $7.50), shrimp po' boys, turkey Reubens, and even Sunday lasagna with toast and salad. Some dishes shine more than others, but they all feel like they belong. Want a sleeper hit? Try their pizza. You can customize the toppings and split it with friends. I'm partial to pepperoni, sausage, and banana peppers. Crust has a nice chew and the sauce leans tangy -- a surprisingly strong move from a bar menu. Ambience-wise, think: low lighting, warm wood tones, cozy booths, a working payphone in the back, and a staff that knows when to chat and when to let you vibe. Whether you're solo or with a group, it always feels like there's space for you. Bonus: if you're not a beer person, they keep Ace Pineapple Cider on tap -- and that's a small but deeply appreciated detail. TL;DR: Club 185 is reliable, unpretentious, and quietly excellent. It's the kind of place that remembers your face, your order, and how you like your jalapeños. Highly recommend -- especially if you're tired of food that looks good on Instagram but forgets to taste good in real life.

Triple cheeseburger, no mayo... about $9 HEAVENLY.

We were on a bike ride thru downtown on a Saturday early evening. A local periodical had listed the 185 as a late night spot for food so we decided to hit em up before darkness fell. We asked the waiter what was the 195 known for and without hesitation he stated that the burgers were the flagship of the restaurant! He also said that it would be a choice the would not be wrong. Well, he must be a descendant of Nostradamus. Good Lord what a burger! Let me rephrase...it's something the Lord made. Delightfully juicy, beautifully composed. I tasted all components with every heavenly bite! And let's not forget the fries...simply wonderful! Hand cut and fried perfectly...not too crispy /dry interior and not too greasy/creamy/mushy! Do yourself a favor and put a weekly visit to one of the coolest spots in Columbus! Put Club 185 on your calendar! You'll be glad you did!

Great neighborhood bar and grill. Came here with my adult son and husband. The bartenders are attentive and make great cocktails. The portabella soup is hands down one of my most favorite soups, ever!

Club 185 absolutely rocks. The burgers are the closest thing you'll find to In-N-Out this side of the Mississippi. The French onion dip with house-made chips is a must, and the open-faced veggie sandwich is surprisingly great. Don't skip the salad--it comes loaded with hard-boiled eggs and crisp green beans. Truly delicious. The beer cheese soup hits the spot (still need to try the chili), and the house cabernet is way better than you'd expect from a neighborhood spot. Yes, it's crowded, but for good reason. Not everything is perfect--the tacos aren't their strong suit--and it is loud and often packed-but the meatloaf (hold the sauce) is my husband's favorite, and the Italian sub? Wow. Worth coming back for.

Club 185 is known for their burgers so that's exactly what I got! We came here with a group of 6 as soon as they opened Saturday, which we didn't know they weren't open for lunch so we had to walk around a bit until it hit 5pm. The burger was delicious! We ordered the cheese curds which were good too but a smaller portion size. The chips and dip weren't our cup of tea :( We felt the chips were super bland and didn't have any salt and seasoning on them. The place got packed and there was a wait already at 5:30.

We had the best time here. Service was amazing and I was especially impressed because they were very busy (Friday at 12:30pm). But drinks were flowing and food was fresh and hot. Everyone looked happy in the place! We had the wedge salad and I had the cheeseburger and fries which were so good. One of the best burgers I've had. And their prices were very reasonable, especially in today's restaurant madness of $20+ for almost anything anywhere. The Guinness was yummy of course. And they have family Lasagna night on Sundays! So I will be back!!! Highly recommend!

We stopped for an early dinner. Enjoyed the cheese curds - different from any I've had. Almost like a light tempura batter. They're served with honey mustard which is not the right flavor combo. The veggie quesadilla has a good amount of fresh veggies. Very tasty. The salsa was a bit dry. My table mate had the Philly steak and egg sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very filling. The fries are shoestring style and had great potato taste. There were a lot of customers between 4:30-5 and only one server until 5p. They have good happy hour specials on food and drinks. The ambience gives hip corner neighborhood bar.

It was surprisingly a nice visit to this little bar/restaurant. The food was good. Hubby loved his Rueben sandwich. The service was very good, too. Friendly and quick!

Great neighborhood bar in German Village! Not a trendy place at all but where a lot of cool people hang out to drink and eat and not really a dive bar but has old school atmosphere. Great place for happy hour to hang with friends after work. They have a few TVs around but not many. That way you can focus on your friends or make new friends. Great menu with a variety of foods to choose from. They also have decent pours, a few drafts and of course my PBR along with several other beers in cans and bottles. Parkin is available on street and it can be tricky. But the effort is worth it to checkout the CBus landmark. Stop in and have fun. Cheers.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

The bartenders clearly care about the drinks, and it shows in the freshness of their ingredients, how they pour, and even the pre-chilled drinkware. Every drink is made with intention, and even when I order a "classic", it's clear it's made with attention to detail. All of this while being on-par or cheaper with most of the Short North bars. Astoundingly cheaper than any of the rooftop locales. Seating is plentiful. You order at the bar and take your drink to sit wherever you'd like. Most of the seating/decor looks like it's from IKEA, but it's clean, modern, and comfy, and it's great for enjoying your drinks as you converse with friends. Denmark's vibe is very heavily "enjoyed high-end, balanced flavors in the company with friends and people you love to talk to". This is not a place to come to "pregame" for later activities. If you're on your own adventure, they have a small bookshelf full of cocktail nerdery (not just recipe books) including balance points for temperature and ice for perfect cocktail flavors. There's some really cool cocktail knowledge books to read here. It can feel a bit pretentious, but if you want balanced, unique flavors (no sugar bombs here) made by people who treat cocktail crafting like an art, Denmark is one of the few places in town you can find it.
