So-so dining experience here with 3 coworkers last week. Giving 3 stars as the food was decent, but definitely didn't match the price point. Think small portions, frozen fries, nothing spectacular. Moved outside as the first table we chose was sticky (menu was stuck to it) and we were getting a whiff of bathroom odor. The interior in general just did not seem the cleanest. They had an average sized weeknight crowd, not busy, but service was very slow. Our meals came out one at a time, with about 5 minutes in between each. Made me think only one cook was in the back. Then got our bills and noticed gratuity had already been added. I know this is standard for large parties, but for four? Seems a bit overkill. Highly doubt I'll ever return. read more

Update... I went there for an event and sat at the bar for almost 20 minutes. It was dirty and no one ever greeted me! Mind you there were four bartenders... Don't go it's a waste of your time and energy... maybe not your money cause you may not have the opportunity to order anything! read more

The service here is horrible around brunch 11am-5pm , they'll pick and choose who to sever first . If they know another customer, they'll have their food come out first! No matter how long you've been waiting . The bartender is very rude , her mom comes up there while she works and disrespects/ gets violent with the customers. I don't feel comfortable going up there to get food no more . The restaurant also pick and choose who to give good drinks too . Run, don't walk to get the catfish and grits cool atmosphere, good people and the food is sensational.

I live a 5 minute walk away from this place and finally got around to checking it out. It is so good!! The bar is beautiful and looks like a beach. You could play I Spy to see what little details you can find in it. Our service was very attentive and nice. I got the fried shrimp basket and it was the best fried shrimp I've eaten in probably years. I will admit I didn't have high expectations for fried shrimp from a bar, but this shrimp was absolutely delicious. The cook did end up trashing the first batch he made because it wasn't up to his standards which I super appreciated. Not all restaurants will do stuff like that. The drink I had was amazing too. Food was great. We had the shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles. Really tasty. The chairs inside are most uncomfortable but outside chairs are what you want to use. I know to go straight outside. I can't sit comfortably in those inside chairs long enough to finish my food. And the food is good. read more

A solid new addition to King Lincoln! Came in with my hubby and enjoyed quite a bit of the menu, drinks, fried green tomatoes, burger, boneless wings, fries, cookies. The food was good and came out pretty fast, and the fried green tomatoes were DELICIOUS. Check out the bar - one solid acrylic ocean scene with incredible details. Looking forward to watching this place grow and provide an awesome food and entertainment venue in the area. Enjoyed DJ but it was almost 90 outside & AC not working in this "newe" space. Service was good- long island was good. Food was salty- waves of unnecessary salt on both wings & fish sandwich. I couldn't taste lemon nor pepper on wings, just salt. My friend couldn't eat fish sandwich due to amount of salt. Unfortunate. I really wanted to love this spot, but no one wants to consume that much salt, it's unhealthy and not tasty. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The restaurant itself is nice, very new and fresh vibe. They play great music! I love going to a restaurant that plays music I want to just vibe to. When the patio is open in the summer I think it'll be great. The food, however, is another story. Sometimes I wonder why restaurants open without integrity behind their menu. The drink I ordered was $18(!!!) and really sweet. For food we had wings, fries, alligator bites, cheese sticks and onion rings. Everything (besides the alligator bites) tasted like you could have gone to the store, purchased it yourself and made at home and produced the same quality. As someone who loves alligator, these particular alligator bites were super chewy and a tiny portion for the cost. I debated writing this review but with all of the competition that exists in this city, I really hope the owners realize that low quality, low effort food isn't likely to retain customers. read more

I really wanted to love this spot as it is a much needed addition to the neighborhood, but I'm unable to ignore the poor food quality at Waves. My partner and I grabbed dinner here and ordered a few drinks, burgers, wings, and fries. While the fries and drinks were fine, the burger and wings tasted as if they were frozen and reheated. Additionally, the burger patties were thin and flat and requests for our patties to be cooked medium were ignored; the wings also were overly sauced. Overall, I left feeling quite disappointed. Four of us ventured into the wave tonight. The restaurant opened just one week ago. The wave burger was very good unique flavor and filling. Two of us got the boneless wings.
