It was the first time at HydeOut Kitchen for my friend and I. He had the Kale salad and I had the Smash Burger with Fries. His salad was great and I enjoyed my Smash Burger with no mayo while the fries were different with some of them you can scoop it with ketchup. We share the warm pretzel bites with nacho cheese. My friend took a bite of the decadent carrot cake. Great service overall. The server gave us extra drinks because she may forgot to get our drinks. The Ambiance was very dark, but nice. I will be going back to HydeOut Kitchen again soon and will try their pizza or wings. They are closed on Mondays. read more

I love a good smash burger, and this one was delicious! Perfectly cooked and great flavor! I do wish it would have come with a side, burger and fries go together and I didn't want to pay an extra $5 for a very small side. Also I'm not a big fan that they but a 16% gratuity on ALL checks (not just large parties) then give you an option for additional tip. My service was awful, I was one of 4 tables and 3 people at the bar, the other tables already had their food and it still took almost 10 mins for them to come over and greet me. Of course they have no incentive because they are automatically getting a 16% tip. I did not feel welcome, I felt more like I was burden on the waitress... Really not a fan of how this business is run, they need to hire more staff. Good burger but I won't be returning. read more

I'm elated to have a new go to brunch spot in Columbus! I went on a Sunday morning and learned that it's typically busy but it wasn't very crowded the day I went, lucky me! Service was friendly and the food was delicious (as you can clearly imagine by the pictures attached). Both the honey garlic and lemon pepper wings were to die for! Seasoned well, the sauce on the honey garlic was a perfect blend of sweet and savory. As for the French toast, they were crisp around the edges and fluffy or soft in the middle (but cooked thoroughly). I would absolutely order my entire meal all over again. However, with this promise I'm excited to try more on the menu because I can almost bet there's not one disappointing dish on the menu. All props to the chefs! They also serve a variety of drinks given it's also a bar. I was satisfied with my lemon drop and we actually ordered two mimosa kits because we were having a blast. Great music playing in the background. Not too loud where you can't hear the people you're with but also loud enough to sing along without judgement! I cannot wait to go back!! Thank you HydeOut! I'm disappointed this is Black owned. This place constantly demeans Black women well certain ones, acting like tearing people down makes them bigger. In my experience I witnessed them fire a single mother like it's nothing with no thought or compassion for something extremely petty. In my experience it seems like he struggles with communicating and always needs someone else to speak for him (co owner) who is actually the level headed one. Cussing at employees using words like "stupid" when referring to women.... Black women at that as if he has zero home training or maybe just hates women. It can be hostile if you let it... but I certainly did not. There's no respect, and that's exactly why everybody who worked there left. This is not the type of Black business anybody should support. Spend your money elsewhere...but the food is "OK" can be bland at times. read more

We stopped in before a show at The Riffe on a Saturday evening and they were busy! We found a table and didn't have to wait long for service. The quality of food was excellent. My husband ordered the fish & chips. Everything was cooked and seasoned well. The chips were different, thinly sliced with crispy edges - delicious. I had the kale salad with grilled chicken. To be honest, I avoided this place for a long time because it seemed like a five joint with cheap beer and shitty food. I was wrong. Excellent beer selection and a really awesome pepperoni pizza for $6. Happy hour has some nice deals! It seems like they've spruced up the place on the inside recently so I'll recommend checking this out as a happy hour spot. read more

I love how they've upgraded the tables and refreshed the look from when it was Lola's and Downtown Tavern. It seems to be a fun placed to be on a Friday or Saturday night. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly and delicious. The fries are amazing for dipping in the tartar sauce. My partner enjoyed his smashburger as well. The ranch was also really good. Had high hopes for this place as it looks very inviting from the outside. It is incredibly cold on the inside and the service is very slow. The wait staff was short with other customers and inattentive, favoring conversation with friends and coworkers over attending to their tables. The food was okay, it was classic bar food as expected. The chili was thin and mostly tomato. They also only had 2 spoons in the restaurant so members of our party had to share. Other entrees (kale salad, buffalo chicken quesadilla, smash burger were nothing to write home about but we had no complaints). We ended up having to stand up and find a staff member to get the check after a long wait. We don't anticipate making a return trip. read more
