Egg white omelette was slimy and wet. In addition, it was way too SALTY. I couldn't even taste the egg. There was so much salt I didn't even finish it. The other person I was with also had an omelette with the same problem. I like that they carry local raised meats but they charged $50. For 1 egg white omelette with nothing else, 1 egg white omelette with cheese, and 3 local small breakfast sausages. Crazy.

Small but cute little brunch spot. You order everything through your phone or their iPad kiosk. I got the cinnamon roll with extra icing, as well as the biscuits & gravy. Both were delicious especially the biscuits & gravy.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now. And I finally made the time to do so. I didn't realize how small it was until I walked it. It was a quiet quaint restaurant. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich, with a side of hash browns . The sandwich was huge . It was pretty tasty. Also I ordered the oatmeal pie latte (cold) which was phenomenal. And I ordered the cheese blintzes which was tasty! I thought the overall experience was okay. I would rate the place at least a solid 7. I definitely would go back to try more menu options. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.

Skillet has been on our list of brunch places to try for quite some time. We finally gave it a go, and had heard that there is usually a wait because the inside is rather small. Well, that is a bit of an understatement -- the inside is very crammed, and there's only about 5 tables. They do have a tiny bar area, but they weren't letting any parties sit there. The wait time was only about 25 minutes when we went. They don't take call aheads or reservations -- just check in on an iPad when you arrive to join the waitlist. They have a rotating menu, and it's quite small -- not like your typical brunch place. They don't have physical menus, so make sure your phone is charged so you can scan the QR code. The online menu is a little goofy on the phone browser because you have to click on each item to read the description, then go back to the home page and select again. The prices are also quite a bit higher than you'll find at most places, which fits with the niche farm to table theme. But $5 for a simple cup of coffee? Hmmm. I guess they have to make up for only being open 3 days a week. We started with cheese blintz for the table -- crepes filled with sheep's milk ricotta and crème Anglaise, topped with blackberries. These were the (only) star of the show and definitely would recommend trying them. My SO tried the biscuits & gravy, touted on the menu as blackened chicken breasts in a peppery veloute over a griddled "cat's head" biscuit topped with scrambled eggs. I'm not sure if it was the veloute or what, but the chicken looked like it came straight from a can and should be served to a cat -- maybe that's how they decided on the "cat's head" biscuit? Do not recommend. I tried the farmhouse ranch cheese burger. It's comes with what appeared to be Lay's kettle chips. The ranch cheese was actually really good, but otherwise the burger was average and not worth the $23 price tag. The others at the table both got the breakfast sando, which had scrambled eggs and cheddar on griddled hot cross buns with a maple mustard. Want to add bacon? You can get 3 slices for $10. The service was a bit lackluster, which I didn't quite understand since they serve so few patrons at a given time. For example, we ordered coffees and had cream and sugar. We had no silverware or anything to mix the coffee with. Eventually, we asked for silverware but they didn't bring it out until we got our meals. Also, it was just all around slow. Lastly, the claustrophobic box of a restaurant had such poor air flow and it was so hot that everyone at our table was sweating by the time we got our food. In fact, it actually felt better outside the restaurant than inside. Overall, pretty disappointing experience at Skillet and definitely won't be back. The only thing salvaging this from a 1 star review are the cheese blintz, which I would get again in a heartbeat, but seeing as we won't be back, that doesn't really matter.

This is one of the best brunches I have had anywhere. Only open Fri / Sat / Sun from 8:30 - 1:30 on a first come first serve basis, the wait is definitely worth it and my wife and I always make a point to get our "Skillet fix" in whenever we are in town or passing through. Service staff are friendly and extremely well trained. Tiny but incredibly charming dining room. Highly recommend - and if the hamburger is on the menu, don't hesitate! It's one of the best anywhere!

Hubby surprised me with brunch out at Skillet in the German Village on a recent Saturday morning - what a treat! There's no room for waiting in this tiny space, but you can go in to join the online waitlist via QR code. Then, you can walk around the neighborhood or wait in your warm car. The wait seemed to go fairly quickly. Skillet's space is quite small and has a rustic, urban feel with exposed brick and a view through to the kitchen. The amazing aroma of breakfast food permeated the space as well as the surrounding neighborhood for several blocks! My companion and I shared the cheesy potatoes. I was expecting crispy fried potatoes with cheese, but they were fingerlings with no crispy edges to be found. That said, they were delicious - the cheese mixture used was absolutely heavenly. We opted for a fried egg on top - a must-have! Our server told us the portions are generous, and boy was she right. Even with sharing a dish, we still brought some leftovers home. We also shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding cake which was scrumptious. The cake was a bit dry on the outside, but the inside was moist and flavorful. A very nice sweet treat for any time. Overall, we were impressed and will be back! I would love it if there was a way to join the waiting list without having to walk into the restaurant and subject diners to an icy blast of cold air, but spring will be coming again soon!

Instead of apologizing for this mistake, Our server emphasized, "Don't worry, I had them sear [the glaze] off." Hearing that surprised me, her steak was over-charred, like the sauce had literally been burned off. Disappointing remedy to a simple mistake, and what a strange way of putting it by our server. What made all of this even worse was the way in which our server Kendall handled this matter. Her attitude got significantly worse following this mishap. She was extremely unapologetic, not offering any apology to either of us. Mind you, I had patiently waited well over 15 minutes with cold fish in front of me for my girlfriend's blackened steak to come out. When my girlfriend had a chance to taste her food, Kendall dropped by to say, "I think we have the best mashed potatoes in the city, what do you think of them?" Blatantly blowing off the fact that my girlfriend's steak was obviously screwed up, and my food had sat for over 15 minutes at the table before hers arrived. As my girlfriend was nearing the end of her food, Kendall stopped by again to add that "We're powering through it." What an odd thing to say to someone who's eating what was clearly a subpar, unsatisfactory plate of food, especially with Kendall being very aware that it was my girlfriend's birthday! I've never in my life been treated in such a passive-aggressive, unapologetic way by a server. Neither of us are one to complain or be rude in a restaurant, both of us having worked in restaurants for years. I'll add that the food on its own would have been fantastic, but the delays had caused it to be cold, and her steak was blackened. I was genuinely left speechless by the way we were treated by Kendall. I also believe that any attempt at a remedy from Kendall could have salvaged this dinner, but her attitude and targeted, passive-aggressive apathy made it so much worse. I'm disappointed leaving this review on what should have been a wonderful dinner a beautiful patio.

All of the staff were knowledgable and gave off pretty cool, chill vibes. Three hours is a long meal, but the pacing was superb. Courses didn't come out like beats on a metronome. Rather, the pacing was changed to meet the waxing and waning excitement for the next plate of an absolutely enormous amount of food. The appetizers came in at a measured pace, the mains slowed, and then deserts were served rapid fire. Between courses, staff might stop by for a quit chat before moving on to the next pressing matter. Lots of staff offered their thoughts on their favorite dishes or suggestions on how a plate my be best enjoyed. The whole experience lacked any pressure or pretense. There were fine dining touches such as replacement of my wife's napkin after she stepped away for a break, but it felt more like eating at a cool friends house than it did eating in the ballroom of a palace. Do you know what I mean? You aren't going to Agni for opulence. You are going for a cool exciting food adventure that you aren't going to get many places and certainly very few in Columbus. We had the Midwest Tasting Menu. 11 courses? Something like that. It was expensive, but I don't even mind it. We loved the "Health Sodas" that were curated by the bartenders. My wife had a coconut, lime, and guava concoction and I had some else that was sweet and fruity and tart. The first few bites of pani puri with spiced ginger and then the "happy meal" and salad course really set the tone of a kitchen that puts out excellent dishes with balanced flavors. For me, the best bite of the night was the Thai noodle salad. It was just a perfect amount of spicy with lots of textures. Mine was served with tofu since I'm not a seafood lover and it was the best tofu preparation I've ever had. My wife's favorite was the "soup and salad" course which is hard to describe, but I agree that it was delicious. The low point of the evening's food for me was in the seafood course. My wife loved her actual seafood, but my vegetarian replacement was a miss. They served it with a piece of baby eggplant that was nearly raw; crunchy and practically inedible. I will forgive them, but I think that one needs to be rethought. The end of the meal had lots of little fun touches. The bill comes in a giant lego minifigure head. The restaurant provides a souvenir menu that lists all the dishes that were tried. There were some curated, store-bought candies for take away. All-in-all, it was just an excellent experience. Do yourself a favor and try it, but go hungry and maybe don't try to eat every bite of every dish so that you aren't hurting by the end of the night.

Seriously, it was amazing. CONS: -No dedicated parking lot. There were decent available spots on a Thursday night at dinner, though. If you're anywhere near German Village, you owe to yourself to give the Old Mohawk a try. Just a couple of blocks north of Schiller Park.

Service was excellent. Prices are pretty darn good. The place was cozy. It was not at all busy at two on a weekday afternoon. It gets busy at peak, of course. I will keep it in mind since I am in the area more.
