They added turkey sausage
Anna H.

I am a fan. First time here was a week ago Saturday for an early (8:30) breakfast with a friend. It was already busy, but we were pointed to 2 counter stools. The owner/manager (not sure) was great at seating people as soon as they walked in. It is small, with several tables for 2 or 4, along with counter space. We did have to wait a bit too long for coffee and for our orders to be taken. The food made up for it. I love that they serve turkey sausage, so I had that with my French toast and eggs. It was a good meal. I look forward to returning.

Stav is still pushing out great Diner food. We popped in at 1245 on a Saturday (they close at 130pm) and it was packed. Ten minutes after we were seated there was a line out the door. Lots of staff but Stav was on the grill solo. It did take a bit for food prep, but no matter. Huge menu. Drop by when you are in 43209.

Bacon Egg and Breakfast Meat, Egg & Cheese on Toast

Stav's has to be my absolute favorite breakfast spot in town. The people are amazing . The food is more than amazing. I can truly say I never had a bad meal here. All the food is made to order. Today I had the Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich with a side order of hash browns with onions. Which was 10/10. I also enjoy the pancakes so I got a short stack on the side. Which was phenomenal. I got a chance to talk with the cook Pete who was funny and very attentive. The waitress all made sure I had what I needed for my late breakfast. They all serve you with a smile. The restaurant is always clean and just an overall great dining experience. If you have tried this hidden gym in the city! Look no further and find sometime to go!!! Definitely a 10/10 experience food and service!

What an adorable little diner! Little is the key word, but it still meets its purpose with friendly service and great food! Parking is a challenge but there are some available spots in the back. We highly recommend and we will go back!

We had breakfast at Stav's Diner this morning. I had a western omelette with hash browns, rye toast, and coffee. My wife enjoyed two eggs, hash browns, crispy bacon, and challah toast. Our meal was delicious! The friendly, attentive staff at Stav's never disappoint. What a great way to start a Friday!

What's the seating like? Are there tables as well as lcounter seating?

Yes, there are tables (primarily 2-tops) in addition to counter seating. There is seating for 3, and 4 can be accommodated, but anything larger would be more challenging.

The focus on the beer was mostly on lagers, which I love. Only negative: the man pouring the taps there one of the nights has no clue what he was talking about. I asked him the difference between two of the bocks they had on tap (a helles bock and a maibock...debately the same style, if not very similar) and he said "how strong the Belgian yeasts are" in a very confident tone. I told him I had never heard of bocks being made with Belgian yeasts, and he said it's "a Cincinatti thing". I got a taste of the beer, and there were no phenolics (for non beer nerds: it had no Belgian flavors) so I ordered one and didn't argue.

We hit up several breweries on a recent trip to Columbus, and Hoster was my favorite beer of the trip. It was just well made, good tasting beer - nothing crazy. To top it off, there's bottomless self-serve popcorn and a vintage jukebox topped with a bowl of free quarters to play your favorite selctions from the decades. The collections of artifacts from Hoster's storied histories, make the walk to the bathroom like a visit to a mini-museum. I loved the homey decor and selection of tables, barstools, and comfy chairs. This place was somewhat family friendly, but it's not a huge space, so it's not great for tots that like to run around. I believe there might have been soooome seasonal outdoor seating, but nothing crazy. Lots of parking and easily accessible. The bartender was super welcoming, friendly, and generous! We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and it wasn't super busy - that was welcomed! Hoster is worth a visit if you're ever in the area. Their brews rival the big names in the area.

It's a freestanding building, remodeled from something else. I had assumed it would be tucked into one of the little strips in Bexley, but it's just east of the main retail area. Parking lot and street parking. Super friendly service, and fast; food was up in five minutes. I had figured it would be a better choice than fast food, which was my other option, and it was indeed better, and just as fast. I wasn't super hungry, so I got the purple latkes and the elote, two apps. The latkes were excellent. Crisp but soft inside, tasty. Served with sour cream and applesauce. Good applesauce, not just a little cup of Mott's. Sprinkled with scallions. The elote was good, not great. Corn is out of season, of course. The flavor was decent although the cheese and all the seasoning kind of slid off in my hands. A little messy. Again, to be expected. But I had hoped for a little more favor. They do have assorted hot sauces all around the dining area. I also had a Horchata, small but heavily spiced and flavorful. The main drawback is the price. Two fairly small apps and a drink, for $30. It's good stuff though, but it's not some place I can eat very often. But for breakfast or brunch, or occasional other stops, it is a good choice.

I wish I could say it was worth the wait. We ordered the "award winning" breakfast tacos, the Nutella pancake balls with bacon, and two orange juices. The bill came to nearly $50 and then we were asked for a tip. That last part stung a little, considering the service model is essentially counter-order takeout style. A friendly staff member directed us to grab a menu, decide what we wanted, and then come tell her. We did sit down and have our food brought to us, but it still felt more like a fast-casual setup than one that warrants a tip prompt. The restaurant itself is pleasant, clean, open, and airy with a nice patio out front. No complaints there. The food, however, was underwhelming. The breakfast tacos, supposedly the star of the show, were bland across the board and fell apart almost immediately. Three small tacos for $20 is a tough sell when there's nothing memorable about them. The Nutella pancake balls were decent but forgettable. The real highlight? The bacon, but that's not exactly a high bar. As for the orange juice, it comes pre-made and refrigerated near the register, which felt a little out of place for a spot with this kind of reputation. I genuinely don't understand the hype around the food here. The price point would be justified if the flavors delivered, but they simply don't. The staff were kind and the space is lovely, I just can't recommend making a special trip for the menu.

It was my turn, dining alone but nothing about a table for one at Scotty's is lonely. The staff are immediately welcoming and every customer is every employee's charge. Four different people helped me or just checked in. The Gina breakfast combos have lots to offer for breakfast. But I was thrilled this 9:30 am to be assured the whole menu was available. I was looking for something less common and was excited to see potato latkes with sour cream and apple sauce as an option. That would have been great but then the waitress (Salome maybe) said, "Do you like corned beef?" The Schmoozer is 3 enormous latkes with thinly shaved and lightly grilled corn beef on top with an over easy egg atop that. Seriously, I can declare victory for finding something I'd never had before. Never would have found it without the nudge. Had to cut myself off with all the coffee offers. Just a great vibe.
