This little hole in the wall diner was packed Sunday morning and for good reason! I was quickly greeted by a kind hostess who handed me a buzzer to wait for a table. About 15 minutes later we were sat at a booth and quickly again greeted by our waitress. She was incredible, keeping us topped up on coffee and water throughout the whole meal. We all ended up ordering the Olympic mama bowl which was phenomenal! I talked my husband into splitting a pancake with me and it was delicious as well. Great diner with friendly workers!! As soon as I walked in, I felt very welcomed. We checked in with the host for a table and there was a little wait but I love that they give you a buzzer to let you know when the table is ready. The food tasted good but the pancakes were what stood out the most to me. They are big and fluffy and you can taste the vanilla! Holy moly what a fantastic breakfast place. And reading the menu, I am sure it is a wonderful lunch place and simply a marvelous place to have dinner. This was our first stop after I had a bit of minor surgery in the Columbus area. I couldn't have asked for a better location to relax, unwind, and enjoy one of the most flavorful meals. I think I've ever had. My wife and I were both able to enjoy the euro omelette with the addition of spinach. Everything had such tremendous flavor, the portions were generous, and it seemed our coffee cup could never run dry before they were there to refill it again with some of the best coffee I've had in a while. We had a moment to speak with one of the owners, and she shared with us both she and her husband were the proud owners of this wonderful restaurant. We wanted to let her know that our experience was fabulous and that we couldn't wait to come back for another trip. Oh, I'm not going to schedule another surgery, I believe we'll just make a special trip to enjoy another fine dining experience at this wonderful establishment. We were visiting the area and had no idea where to go for breakfast. Our hotel desk associate suggested Olympic Diner as it is a local favorite. The interior is ...... well, like a diner, just not one of those ones that looks like an old airstream. We didn't expect anything more than that.... As it is a diner. Looked like a scene from Corner Gas really. We ordered our typical breakfast, 2 eggs over medium, bacon, hash browns and rye toast. Nothing special, but everything was very good as though we had cooked it at home.... But no cleanup. Our server was attentive and friendly. You could tell that she's made many friends with the customers. Total for breakfast including tip was $20. Can't beat that. And, I don't care for chain restaurants when I can eat local. read more

I may have eaten here twice this week. It's that good. And the service is great. Smiling, happy servers. And the owner typically checks in and thanks us for our business. I had the #6 breakfast platter with smoked sausage. Their waffles are also very good. And the cod Sandwich is popular with my group. The corned beef hash is different than what you might be used to with large slices of corned beef, bell peppers and onions. Very lean. I'm a fan and will be back. read more

Great diner with most of the typical American diner foods. I got the Corned Beef Hash with eggs and toast. The Hash is not your typical offering. It is not at all crisp, the cubed potatoes are cooked until they are almost mashed potatoes, and the corned beef is pieces of thin slices. Weird, but somehow it works. The whole mess was very warm and comforting on a cold Winter day. The staff are super friendly, and you can tell they also really like each other. They laugh and smile and kid each other constantly. The kitchen staff got an order wrong, and the waitress noticed immediately. She laughingly told him he was going to get "a Knuckle Sandwich for Lunch." read more

Son had chocolate chip pancakes with side of bacon and I had a traditional breakfast--eggs, sausage links, potatoes and toast. Friendly service and great food at a reasonable price. I saw a few people with complaints that it wasn't the traditional kind of corned beef hash that they are used to so it wasn't for them. To put it bluntly, if you're looking for a place that serves the corned beef hash that comes in a can and served off the griddle then it's probably not for you. This is legit fresh corned beef sliced up and chunked up and fried up with eggs and potatoes and onions. It's delicious. My husband got the mama bowl and loved it. We went for a late Sunday breakfast only to realize they serve breakfast all day! The food was excellent! The ham in my #2 Breakfast Special was VERY good! She had the Feta & Spinach omelette & loved it! We sat at the counter & were waited on quickly. The service was great! Friendly & fast. The place is decent sized done in standard diner fashion. In August 2023 I gave a GREAT review of Olympic and became a regular at the diner- eating there 4-5 times a month when I'm not on the road. Sadly, this morning was my last visit there! I'm not sure if they've had a staff change, or they've just gotten too busy to be concerned. 3 of my last 4 visits netted less than quality food and many of the staff being too busy. This morning I ordered my "usual" (scrambled eggs, 2 biscuits and 2 sausage patties). The server (who I know has been there awhile) came over and said "Anything to drink?" and came back with coffee and water, set the menu on the table and walked away. When she came back I said, "I'll have my usual, it's a 'mini' but with just scrambled, 2 sausage patties and 2 bicsuits, with no butter..." Her response, "No potatoes" Me: "No thanks. And they usually just ring it up as a Mini." She seemed rather annoyed with me. About 5-10 minutes later she came over with my plate, scrambled eggs and 2 BURNT sausage patties, ... and said "Your biscuits will be up in a minute.."and walked away. She came back in a couple minutes with the biscuits, filled my coffee and walked away... The patties were OBVIOUSLY burnt, and my plate was the ONLY plate she was carrying when she came to my table. I would've expected her to say, "Oh no! Looks like these patties are a bit overdone! Let me get these replaced for you!" I sat there, looking at my plate for 5-10 minutes, but couldn't bring myself to try to eat it. I left my food untouched and put $15 on the table and walked out! This is the first time in the 2 years I've been going to Olympic where I felt like they DIDN'T want me there! It's sad that my "usual" spot will no longer be the OLYMPIC DINER. read more

OK - my dryer broke, so my wife and I went to the nearby laundry mat to dry clothes at the corner of Roberts and Rome-Hilliard in Hilliard. After I dutifully carried the laundry basket in and helped load the four dryers we used, she unceremoniously told me to leave, "Go get some lunch, I'll be about 40 minutes." I looked at the building and saw Olympic Diner. It was a Saturday, about 1pm. It was busy, which I took as a good sign. I took a place at the counter, rather than tie up a table. The Hostess, noticed me and inquired when I walked-in. When I sat at the counter, someone immediately asked what I wanted to drink. I told them I didn't know, I wanted to look at the menu. I've included pictures of the menu. It was standard diner food, lots of variations on breakfast, sandwiches and burgers. I went a little off the highway and got the fish & chips. The food was perfectly fine. It did not stand out. I had a Pepsi (they had pepsi products) and a cinnamon roll (terrible sweet tooth - only 3 items on dessert menu.) The service was really friendly and fast though the food which was "OK" probably pulled the score down to a three. I likely won't put them on my weekly rotation but if I go back to the laundry mat- I would be fine to go back for a bite. read more

My husband got the Hungry Man Breakfast, I got the Olympic Mama Bowl & both of our meals were 10/10. I also ordered their French toast, 10/10. Our waitress was very nice, checked on us periodically & was very efficient with her service, 10/10. If you're thinking about trying this place definitely give them a try. read more

For a place that is always busy we were lucky to get seated almost immediately. Our server was great and took our order in very short order and returned with our food before we could ever expect it. The eggs and bacon were great and the coffee was hot and flavorful. The big drawback during this visit was the biscuits and gravy. Severed barely warm and the gravy just wasn't good. I can appreciate a good white gravy over biscuits but this wasn't that. It was white gravy with the consistency of paste. It was fairly dry on top of the biscuits and had the consistency of a dry icing rather than gravy. Add to that the gravy wasn't even warm and it was a bad experience. A really good, hot sausage gravy is so much better but so is almost anything. read more

I had a fairly nice experience, not great but nice. My server and the others were friendly and efficient. I had my food very quickly. The food was mostly good. The hash browns were excellent, browned nicely and warm. I had a breakfast meal that gave me toast, eggs, hash browns and three different meats. That was nice to taste three different meats. The serving size was large...enough for two people. The eggs were warm, fresh, tasty and prepared as I asked. The toast was ok, except it came with some kind of margarine in it. Although I do like to see a better bread, this was just normal wheat bread like Wonder. (Do they make wheat bread?) And butter is a better choice for flavor. The meats were ok...nothing special. The ham was the better over the bacon and sausage link. The bacon was just meh. The sausage links were tasty, but actually pretty cold, that was disappointing, but they brought hot ones when I responded to my server when she asked how my food was The place is clean and spacious with comfortable seating. read more

The perfect amount, hot, fresh, quick. The gracious, super friendly host heard that we were revisiting and sent us on our way with homemade puff pastries for our travels, another score! If you read my reviews, then you know I am a creature of habit. So, a frequent return to and a subsequent review of the Olympic Diner in Hilliard should not be a surprise. Having met Ray and his wife, the owners who are always there, I've learned that the meat items offered, including the corn beef hash, comes regularly from an Amish meat market in Detroit because they care just that much about all the food items on their menu to the minutest detail. Food is fresh cooked and service is always on time. And, because there's plenty served, you'll always need a "to go box" when you leave. If you don't like the home cooked food, get off my stool and go to a chain restaurant! I love this place, so I bring the ambience myself! read more
