They operate on an "honor system" where you have to pay attention to who is in line in front of you and if a table opens up. I ordered a grilled chilled cheese to be safe because I suspected the quality of other items would be questionable. Unfortunately, the grilled cheese is made with one single slice of Kraft American Singles. Not even real cheese and it wasn't fully melted. The fries are frozen crinkle cut fries, also somehow cold. The bacon was gross, tastes dry and just low quality, like microwave kind? I tried my son's kid waffle which was surprisingly decent. Hash-browns were okay just unseasoned. Overall would not recommend if you're looking for quality ingredients but if you're looking for a greasy spoon you're in business. The staff was nice, probably the only positive for me. read more

The restaurant was busy when we arrived so we had to wait for about 10 mins for a table. We received our food in about 20 mins after they were ordered. The waiter brought us glasses of water and I may have ordered orange juice too. I ordered the pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. The pancakes were topped with some butter and ai added syrup too. They tasted fluffy and delicious. The scrambled eggs and bacon were well cooked and tasted good. My friend's son ordered a breakfast sandwich and my friend ordered the eggs benedict. Busy at 1130am on a weekday, not quite full but by noon there was a short line. It's a classic little diner, in appearance, atmosphere, and menu. I got sausage gravy and biscuits, of course. There are lots of other enticing things on the menu, but that's my favorite and often a good indicator of how they do things. A big bowl of gravy, just enough to cover everything to my satisfaction. Fluffy biscuits, split and buttered. The gravy is probably canned, but it's a higher end product, with lots of sausage and a bit of pepperiness. Thick and flavorful. Not a healthy meal but a hearty and filling one, and though I was full I was a bit sad it was all gone. Service was great. I sat at the counter and could watch the cooks and waitresses hustling. Efficient chaos, everyone knowing what they're doing. Lots of regulars, clearly, and they were greeted with familiarity, but newbies got sweetness too. Prices are great. Get here when you can. I was staying at a hotel whose "breakfast" consisted of a bunch of bread products, so I decided to go out for a real breakfast. I looked at the Yelp app and Jenny's got good reviews, so I decided to try it -- especially because I love little diners. I went there late on a Tuesday morning, and all the regular tables were taken. The counter had some space, but I don't like sitting there, so I waited. I did find it a little disconcerting that nobody greeted me (or subsequent customers) on arrival; I actually felt kind of ignored and considered leaving. But, I figured it would take a while to find somewhere else, so I stayed. And while I was waiting, I struck up conversations with some of the other customers, which was pleasant. When I was finally seated, I needed a little time to look at the menu. The service was a little slow, and I continued to feel somewhat ignored. Phenomenal from start to finish!! We got there and there was a short wait--no waitlist, this place operates on an honor system and so it felt like a classic diner right away. We talked to some regulars and they raved about it so we knew we'd be in for a treat. Jenny, the owner, took our order and was as sweet as can be. We got the country fried steak and Reuben omelette. Stopped here at 1pm a few weeks ago. The delay in the review was I have been trying to figure out how to word my review. Here it goes: The place was busy. At arrival there were three spots open. One booth in the back. One at the counter. A third was the very first booth. They sat the people in front of us in the back booth. That made sense. We were asked if we wanted a counter seat but the person I was with was handicapped and over 80; sitting on a stool with her having full blown Parkinson's we didn't feel comfortable doing. For some reason they didn't clean the front booth nor were we ever offered it. We waited and waited. Waited some more. Nothing. It was like we were punished for not taking the counter. Lol. After waiting ten minutes we left and went to another nearby spot. Sorry Jenny's. The food: since we left we didnt dine here that day, but during previous dining experiences, we found food here very good. Typical diner style. Nothing incredibly healthy but all items we have had previously have been very tasty. Not sure why the one booth wasn't bussed nor offered to us- after a ten minute wait it left a bad taste in our mouth. Always drove by it and never had a chance to get inside until now. Jenny's has such a classic style of an old school diner but with a modern twist. I went near New Years so they still had it decorated for the holidays which made it feel super cozy. Now it is a bit of a smaller place but honestly it felt more like you were hanging with family than on top of each other. Everyone in the restaurant was super friendly and that comes from the staff providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted right away with very friendly staff. I loved that they had turkey bacon as I don't eat pork. I ended up getting the BLT and it was delicious! My friend loves going to diners and suggested this spot since they're new. They have a tiny parking lot but you can find lots of street parking. They were slammed! We waited less than 2 minutes for a table though. But there were constantly people waiting to get seated. Service is quick and staff are pretty attentive. We both got their hot coffee to start. Nothing special but just wanted some caffeine. For food, I got corned beef hash while my friend ordered French toast and added blueberries on top with a side of eggs and sausage. Delicious! Jenny's Diner is everything you want in a neighborhood breakfast spot: Amazing staff, delicious food, fast service and convenient location. Don't be intimidated if you see people waiting for a table when you stop in, the line moves fast. We've never waited more than 15 minutes for a table. Their chef is so fast and he gets food on the table soon after you order. This keeps the tables moving and the line short. My go to is the spinach scramble with home fries. But sometimes I mix it up - and on these days- my other fave is the Chilaquiles. Trust me on this- this the best Chilaquiles in town. Jenny's green sauce and refried beans are to die for. My hubby's go to varies- but he's been loving the country fried steak with sausage gravy lately. Oh and if they have a pumpkin pancake on the menu- GET IT. We stop in for breakfast most Saturday mornings and always look forward to seeing who is there. So many of us are regulars that it feels like a family and we are visiting Jenny's house for breakfast. This was my first time visiting Jenny's Diner. For fellow first time visitors, parking is very limited in their lot, but street parking is available on Beechwold. The diner is first come, first serve. There are booth and counter seats. Despite being a new place they recreated a traditional diner feel. My friend and I were seated at two counter seats after a 15 minute wait. Our server was friendly and provided quick service. I opted for the Jiffy Cakes since cornmeal pancakes are one of my favorite breakfast items. I also opted for over easy eggs. Both items tasted great. The pancakes were especially good. Prices at the restaurant were reasonable. Overall I enjoyed my visit. A few other menu items caught my eye, so I will need to make more visits in the future. read more

This diner is super cute!! Very classic diner vibes, mismatch mugs, vintage decor, but SO CLEAN! Since this is a newer diner, everything is immaculate. You can tell the staff really takes care of the space as well. I have been waiting to try Jenny's Diner Clintonville since it opened. I was not disappointed. I got the Diner Biggie with 3 hotcakes, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, hash browns, and Cinnamon Toast with butter already spread on it, along with washing it down with a Diet Coke. When customers get coffee or hot drinks, they have different coffee mugs in every shape. The ambiance was great that associates Diners, Coca-Cola, golden celebrities of the past. The service was wonderful and they know some customers by name. The Diner Biggie was delicious and I will not have lunch the meal took great care of my tummy. The food was alright. Typical buttery diner food. Niche parent problem: I'll warn you about what we had an issue with. There is a large television on one wall that is always playing cartoons. My friend and I brought our kids and they were glued to the screen the whole time. When I come to a restaurant, I am there to be present with my family and friends, and the TV made it so that our kids really did not interact with us. I nicely asked if they would change the channel to news or sports or something, but they said no. There were two other booths with kids that also seemed to be having the same problem. If you don't bring kids, or you honestly want a break from your kids then this doesn't apply to you, but it was a bummer for us. read more

Ordered eggs, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Eggs were perfectly cooked. The potatoes are crisped up with no skin on them. Biscuits were grilled with butter on the face of them. The gravy was nice and smooth with minimal pepper on them. This place will certainly be a go to place for people in the area. Jenny and Crystal are going to take this place to another level.
