Let's just say that if you come to Columbus you must give Tommy's Diner a try. It's the nostalgia for us. My husband decided this is where we will go to for some coffee and breakfast. The place is so cute. I love about it. I had a ham and cheese omelet and my husband got the hotcakes with bacon. The coffee was flowing. Our server was awesome. She made sure our cups stayed full. My only issue was my toast was cold with the butter on it. But it was still edible. And my husband did not care for the hotcakes. There was something about the texture that did not sit well with him. So he ate my toast. Overall it was ok. We will go back I am sure. There are definitely more pluses than minuses.

There will likely be a wait when you arrive but I promise its worth it. It feels so homey in here and all the staff are fantastic. There are so many options on the menu. The food comes out quickly and is so delicious. We ordered the steak and eggs and the meatloaf split. So so good. I adore brown gravy and this did not disappoint!

Saw this place in Triple D, so I had to give it a try. The Greek lasagne they had in the show was not available, but the baklava cheesecake was. They also had an Italian beef as a special, and as a Chicago guy, I was really looking forward to it. Well, apparently Tommy's never been to Chicago. Don't get me wrong, it was a tasty sandwich, but not at all what a Chicago Italian beef is. Shredded beef rather than sliced, banana peppers rather than giardiniera, had cheese rather than as jus, and the bread was a pressed sandwich rather like a Cuban rather than an Italian roll. Came with fries that were nothing special, like you would get from Orida in the frozen section of the supermarket. We also had the turkey club, which was very well done on 3 layers, and their sweet potato fries which were outstanding. Then there was the baklava cheesecake. Holy moly was that good! Worth the price of admission. Came in on a Wednesday at 1:00 and the place was packed. Sat at the bar, which surprisingly had enough leg room for my 6'6" frame. Waitress was fast and friendly. It appeared everyone on the staff was enjoying their job, which is a big deal to me in this piss poor age of customer service. The place is rather small, but decorated nicely with a ton of memorabilia. I don't think more than 6" of any wall was left on covered with something.

Finally made it to Tommy's Diner had to wait but good things come to those who wait. It may have started in 1989 but I felt like I was in the 60's what an atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the specials. I had the corn beef w/swiss on rye and a cup of chilli and French fries and gravy, wonderful is all I can say.

I ordered the Pecan Crusted Chicken salad which was listed on the special board. It was amazing! The chicken was crispy, tender, and steaming hot. It was also a generous portion of chicken. This salad puts the same named salad from O'Charley's to shame. My husband enjoyed his omelette. Our server was attentive to all of our dining needs. The restaurant was crowded and somewhat loud because of all the patrons. Every seat was occupied in the restaurant. We will definitely come back.

Been awhile since I've been here. Still quite busy, but I got seated immediately! Even found a place to park in their lot just to the East of the restaurant! Counters and booths, walls covered in decades of memorabilia. Busy diner atmosphere, lots of activity and talking. A beautiful spring day led me to have a club sandwich, fries and a Coke. Service was fast and cordial. The food was great, the serving size was excellent ( I brought some home. If you're looking for a laid back meal this is probably wrong for you. But if you're looking for good food in a comfortable but fast paced place with lots of history you won't go wrong here.

I typically do a search online to seek out the best this or that and my sister was coming to visit so I wanted to know the best diner in Columbus, and Tommy's popped up. I was really excited to dine here. I know this is a Columbus staple and I've heard other people talk about it. It's a quirky little place. The decor is nice and what I've come to expect from mom and pop eateries. Unfortunately that's about where the experience end. Our server was a young lady. She didn't tell us what her name was. She was a little bit rude and offputting, but being it was a birthday celebration my sister and I decided to make the best of it. I asked the girl what the diner was known for and she said she didn't know but she would ask. I don't think she actually asked anybody because she never disclosed or suggested any particular meal that we should try. I opted for the Belgian waffle aside of bacon and a scrambled egg and my sister got the French toast aside of bacon and scrambled egg. I will admit that the Belgian waffle was was fluffy and had a decent texture. The bacon was not cooked enough to my liking, and it had an off taste to it. Nonetheless, the dining experience wasn't as pleasant as I was hoping for it to be neither our meals were photo worthy, which was very disappointing as always please visit your local dining areas and support small business. Unfortunately, I think Tommy's will be a one and done situation for me which is sad because we know that I love a great brunch spot!

Fun breakfast / lunch spot! Its always packed - you can grab a seat at the counter for quick service. Good selection of different stuff on the menu no matter what you are in the mood for.

Stopped here as it's a DDD. The place was packed with a wait. We got a shrimp basket with fries and slaw, and an order of steak and eggs. I don't usually like Cole slaw but this one was good with a sweet taste. We ordered Baklava Cheesecake to go which was definitely an unusual mix but was delicious. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The check was brought with our order which I kinda appreciate because I hate waiting for the check. The service could have been better as we were waiting with our food and had no silverware, waitresses were running all over there were just so many people.

4.5 rounded down. Service and food were amazing! Knocking it down because we were seated by the front door. It was freezing every time the door opened and everyone waiting for tables were huddled around us. The host even used our table to set her iPad on. Not ideal. I'd still come back because the food and people were great! The hostess is truly amazing at her job.

Cool 50's style diner, good vibes. Service was fast and courteous. Thick cut french toast was on point, fluffy scrambled eggs done right. Decent portions. Dig it!

YUM!!!! Delicious and filling meal! The breakfast club was exactly what I wanted and needed! Portion is large and every bite was so good! Food was brought out quickly and service was delicious! My favorite perk was they had coke too! Restaurant was quaint and so cute inside! I would definitely come again!! Family owned and well done! 10/10!

Out in Columbus for a couples day so I obviously had to find a breakfast spot. I have plenty of things I do whenever I go to an area and want to find their good eats. One thing is always look to see if anywhere has been of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. BANGGG QUITE a few stand outs here: 1.) The country fried steak. Not just coated in a flour and fried. The breading was seasoned unbelievably well and the steak wasn't just a thin pounded cut to where you only get breading 2.) The gravy. Best gravy I've ever had. 3.) The biscuits. PHENOMENAL crunch on the outside and still moist in the middle. 4.) The Hollandaise sauce. Also best I've ever had. Beyond creamy with a slight extra vinegar taste to it 5.) Baklava cheesecake. Need I say more. The inside was set up like a 60s diner and awesome. It was 12:30 when we got there. Able to be seated but still packed. Our waitress was fucking awesome. So fun If you are ever in Columbus do yourself a favor and make it a priority to get the fuck over here

The galaxy-themed decor is such a vibe -- very 70s retro with bright colors, laid-back energy, and a fun but casual feel. My daughter ordered the egg and cheese sandwich, and I love that it comes with avocado. We shared the Big Ol' Pancake, and since the kids couldn't decide on a flavor, our waiter suggested fresh blueberries and chocolate chips on the side so everyone was happy. That kind of flexibility stood out. I ordered the breakfast burger. I was on the fence at first, but the description of the house-made English muffin completely sold me -- and I didn't regret it at all. It came with a side of perfectly roasted potatoes . I also had the cold brew martini sweetened with maple, which was smooth with just the right touch of sweetness. My husband ordered a beer on tap and loved it. He also had the Hermes Loaded Hash and was a fan. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing, and the staff was overly accommodating without making us feel rushed. That says a lot. They also have a private room available to rent for $50, which I'd absolutely consider for a small gathering. This is a casual, easy breakfast spot I'd definitely return to -- especially if I'm in the area or don't mind driving a little out of my way for good food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Charming decor and friendly staff. However, my experience was ruined due to an error on my take out order. I placed an order for three additional meals with an add on order of sausages. Easy, right? I initially thought so, so I wasn't concerned about my order being incorrect. I get home and my order is missing main items like pancakes, french toast, utensils, and it looked as if the order was just slapped together. I call immediately and I explained that I just had an eaten there and then ordered additional takeout and my takeout order was incorrect. The nice young lady apologized and offered to have it remade. Now I accepted that and also stated since I have to come back up there what other compensation can you provide me. She then transfers me to the incredibly Customer Service oriented manager named Juan. I do hope you can sense the sarcasm. As I explained my situation to him stating what items have been missed, what was wrong with the order and what I expected ask a reasonable solution to this situation. He then goes on and asked me several questions over and over again about the takeout meal, I explained to him one more time to which he cut me off, overtalked me, and really wasn't listening to resolve my issue. When he asked again what I ordered I said I already told you. At which point, he cursed and said he did not want to be "a$$ hole" and basically gave me the impression that he was unwilling to fix this situation. So I told him I was going to speak to him in a nicer tone that he was talking to me that I wanted him to remake the meal. I would be there in 10 minutes and I would like it piping hot. To Juan's credit my food was ready once I arrived however, he proceeds to tell me that his waitress and his expediter both checked the order and it was correct when it left. Which wasn't true obviously. As a matter of fact, my friend said she watched the waitress grab the bag and didn't open it and just came to the table. I don't have a reason to go get free food from an establishment where I've already paid and tipped the server. Second of all he indirectly called me a liar to my face, which is poor service in its own right. Thirdly, when I asked what other compensation he was willing to provide me, he just simply smiled and said no he wasn't going to do anything. Juan needs to go back to the beginning of where Customer Service starts in order to be a better front of the house manager, because when your server makes an error, you own it you do not place the blame back on the customer. Juan needs to be retrained on how to actually service people, he does not know how to talk to anyone. He did not know how to de-escalate the situation. I have been in Customer Service for 25 years and 15 of those have been working in an escalation department that was the worst interaction I believe I have ever encountered with a manager to resolve a situation. I mean Wendy's resolved issues better than this. Being that this was my first time coming to Delaney's, it will also be my last time. Because if you treat any customers the way you treated me, is clear he has no respect for the patrons of this establishment.
