After a fun night out, my friends and I were looking for a wonderful place to eat. Suggesting Delaney's was a no brainer due to the incredible reviews, and my wanting to try it. Charming decor and friendly staff. However, my experience was ruined due to an error on my take out order. I placed an order for three additional meals with an add on order of sausages. Easy, right? I initially thought so, so I wasn't concerned about my order being incorrect. I get home and my order is missing main items like pancakes, french toast, utensils, and it looked as if the order was just slapped together. I call immediately and I explained that I just had an eaten there and then ordered additional takeout and my takeout order was incorrect. The nice young lady apologized and offered to have it remade. Now I accepted that and also stated since I have to come back up there what other compensation can you provide me. She then transfers me to the incredibly Customer Service oriented manager named Juan. I do hope you can sense the sarcasm. As I explained my situation to him stating what items have been missed, what was wrong with the order and what I expected ask a reasonable solution to this situation. He then goes on and asked me several questions over and over again about the takeout meal, I explained to him one more time to which he cut me off, overtalked me, and really wasn't listening to resolve my issue. When he asked again what I ordered I said I already told you. At which point, he cursed and said he did not want to be "a$$ hole" and basically gave me the impression that he was unwilling to fix this situation. So I told him I was going to speak to him in a nicer tone that he was talking to me that I wanted him to remake the meal. I would be there in 10 minutes and I would like it piping hot. To Juan's credit my food was ready once I arrived however, he proceeds to tell me that his waitress and his expediter both checked the order and it was correct when it left. Which wasn't true obviously. As a matter of fact, my friend said she watched the waitress grab the bag and didn't open it and just came to the table. I don't have a reason to go get free food from an establishment where I've already paid and tipped the server. Second of all he indirectly called me a liar to my face, which is poor service in its own right. Thirdly, when I asked what other compensation he was willing to provide me, he just simply smiled and said no he wasn't going to do anything. Juan needs to go back to the beginning of where Customer Service starts in order to be a better front of the house manager, because when your server makes an error, you own it you do not place the blame back on the customer. Juan needs to be retrained on how to actually service people, he does not know how to talk to anyone. He did not know how to de-escalate the situation. I have been in Customer Service for 25 years and 15 of those have been working in an escalation department that was the worst interaction I believe I have ever encountered with a manager to resolve a situation. I mean Wendy's resolved issues better than this. Being that this was my first time coming to Delaney's, it will also be my last time. Because if you treat any customers the way you treated me, is clear he has no respect for the patrons of this establishment. read more

Nice breakfast at Delaney's. Got it at 1pm on a weekday. Quite a few customers, but not too crowded. I got the Hoosier Pork Tenderloin breakfast. The tenderloin is huge and tender, deep fried and cooked just right. My eggs were perfect, cooked as I asked. My biscuit was good, a little crispier would have made it great. The hash browns were very good, cooked well. The sausage gravy tasted a little chemically to me. I'm glad I got it on the side. My server was professional, attentive, and polite. Walking into Delaney's it's very clean and the staff and the atmosphere is very inviting. Our server Michelle was prompt and quick on the refills. I had the corn beef hash eggs over easy with rye toast, a diner classic corn beef made in house, they nailed it. My wife had the Country Biscuit Breakfast very good really liked the shredded hash browns. They have nice portfolio of restaurants around Columbus, hopefully they expand to other parts of Ohio. read more

We enjoyed some amazing corned beef hash two days in a row. We liked it so much the first day we had to come back. The service was attentive and amazing. The servers were great with coffee refills and offered us coffees to go. The diner is cute and comfortable although the lighting in the overflow area should be more soft white bulbs than the bright white ones. They are literally my favorite breakfast spot in Columbus. Breakfast food is not my thing but somehow Delaney's has the magic Touch: best waiters, super clean space and top notch chefs. Bummer...was looking forward to lunch yesterday but we had to order To-Go. I think if we had eaten there it may have been better BUT...I ordered a CLUB Sandwich with Fries . I ask for white bread toasted. What I got was white bread with a few lines on it but still very much Bread, soft and soaked in Mayo. Then when I look there were on 12 French Fries. So I called them to let them know I was not very happy the bread was not toasted at all and WHT is up with 12 French Fries for $14.00 I expected more out this place . She said they are Weighing out portions of potato's effective least week and thats how it is now. Thats the reason for 2 stars. Arrived at 11:45 and the place was full. It's obvious this is a very popular place. There are two separate large rooms. The booths line the wall and tables down the center. All 16 paintings say "cafe" "food " or "diner" The floors did need a good sweeping as there was food underneath some of the tables. This makes me believe they are short staffed. The staff is friendly greeting me when I walked in. I only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. I am deaf and I met my server who is hard of hearing. She told me she wanted to learn sign language. So I told her that I teach ASL classes. I ordered the Delaney special which consisted of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and sausage. The sausage was a bit salty but not a game changer. The French toast was excellent! This is a great place for breakfast. They don't rush you like most places. You're a person here, not a number. Thanks for the great service and delicious breakfast. Visited this place during a visit to Columbus. I love mom and pop diners for breakfast the food just hits different. Great food, friendly serving staff and the owner was there. Been driving by this place for a few months and finally decided it was time make it a destination. We came in on a holiday around 11am. They have two dining areas, roughly the same size, separated by a wall. The side with the open kitchen also hasn't a "u" shaped kitchen counter bar, giving it that proper diner feel. We sat at the counter. Our server was super busy yet couldn't of been more attentive, we really like her. We ordered a meat lover's omelette and after being told the corn beef hash had recently been awarded "the best in the city" we ordered that as well. The omelette was huge. Lots of cheese, meat and veggies. The bite I stole had great flavor, I was impressed. My hash was generously sized. It came with a biscuit and two eggs. The corn beef was cut in chunks and was very tender. I was impressed with the corned beef. It was perfectly cooked. Perfectly diced. What I wasn't impressed with were the potatoes. They tasted boiled meaning the sous chef may have boiled them in prep, allowing the line chef to give them a shorter moment on the grill at time of order. They needed more grilling than what they got. They were lacking seasoning as well. It was good but definitely not the best hash in the city, IMO. What looked A-MAZE-ING was the corn beef sandwich that the guy next to me ordered. It rivaled in looks to my fav CB at another restaurant. Actually, the one here may of looked the best, so I guess I will be back to see if their corn beef is the boss of Columbus. Im thinking it might be. read more

I have been hearing nothing but raving reviews about Delaney's diner since moving to Reynoldsburg so we felt like we HAD to try it. I was actually surprised to find its a chain upon arriving. Seems like its a business based in Indy. We felt like the vibes between the menu / food presentation / and storefront didn't match which made for a confusing experience. The food gives classic diner which is awesome, but the interior was made to be very minimal and modern. 3 of the 4 of us got breakfast foods and found they fell short. Its not that it was bad. It just wasn't special -- i could have made it at home myself. We all tried different things from classic breakfast to biscuits and gravy. The fourth of us got a burger sandwich thing with fries. It was by far the best of all our entrees. I would go back to Delaneys only to try their lunch menu items. read more

Suggestion to go by a friend and it was a great experience. I can see why this place is so popular with a wait list the food was great. The atmosphere was very clean and retro at the Reynoldsburg location. I had not been to the Westerville location before. The prices are affordable and the portion sizes were good as well. This was a hopping little diner. They had a line of people when we walked in but the wait wasn't all that long. We went over to Harbor Freight while we were waiting. When our table was ready they sent us a text. The food was yummy and decently priced. We visited for breakfast and ordered the biscuits and gravy. This was one of the fluffiest most flavorful biscuits I have ever had. It was delicious! Our server was attentive and efficient. She was busy but didn't let our cups get empty. Birthday breakfast for Sweetie. I asked if they had anything special, and they suggested a cinnamon roll. Perfect, and it looked great. She got French toast, a big order that she enjoyed part of (just too big) with bacon. I wasn't super hungry; I wanted to try the tenderloin or steak, but didn't want to waste it. Went with sausage gravy and biscuits. Housemade gravy, chock full of sausage. Yum. Not the style I make, grey-brown and heavily seasoned; this was more white, with bits of black pepper. Still yum. With great biscuits. Service was excellent. The place is bright and cheery. Currently (almost November) with a little shelter/airlock on the outside door, good prep for winter. Decent prices.
