Located inside of Jackie O's; a good window that offers "upgraded" snacks. I went with the Wario's quesadilla and fries. Everyone loved the fries I didn't even get to take a picture of it! Recommend the classy sauce which is white truffle bbq. The quesadilla was filled with so much cheese! I felt it weighed like 5 lbs. Be warned, it's a bit messy. You do have to order online but can go to the window to let them know the modifications you can't do on the app. I can't wait to come back and try the brunch. read more

I ordered from my phone then headed to the pickup window when my number was called. Service was efficient. Got the sausage sandwich with no chili crunch, which was quite large in size with a double patty of savory breakfast sausage, hashbrown, egg, and sauce stuffed between a soft bun. Every part of this sandwich was delish! The place was clean and inviting, and I loved the vibe even during their opening hour of business. Multiple levels of indoor and outdoor seating including swings, lots of plants and greenery and lovely artwork decorating the entire patio area, as well as several large screen TVs, with great music playing through the speakers on a Saturday morning near lunch time. Had a great brunch on Jackie O's patio by ordering from Goood Friends. You order using a QR code on their menu, and the food is ready in a very reasonable time (probably about 10 minutes the morning we ordered; we arrived right after they opened at 11). The brunch menu features burgers and similar kinds of sandwiches along with brunch style dishes, like egg sandwiches, French toast with fried chicken, add-ons, loaded fries, and more. Drinks would be ordered inside at the Jackie's bar. We ordered a burger, the chicken sandwich, and the French toast to share. Everything was very well-made and incredibly tasty (and a bit messy-- you pick up the food at their pick up window and it is wrapped up to go, but if you eat on site, you will be eating with plastic forks and knives and paper wrappings as plates). My favorite was the juicy Jackie burger, which features both grilled and crispy onions, pickles, and melted cheese. The chicken sandwich was also pretty good, though the dark meat was a little overly battered for my taste. The French toast was excellent, with touches like miso maple butter, and rosemary, to really elevate it. I'm looking forward to coming back with a bigger group. I'm trying more food. read more

Okay. So we came here off Warios being amazing. And let me just say this did not disappoint. I got the special which was birria pot roast tacos with mashed potatoes. They. We're. So. Good. And the consumme. I drank the whole thing. Admittedly, if they sub the mashed for cheese I think that could be a menu staple and was absolutely delicious. We also tried the roast beef sandwich. The window outside of Jackie O's! There's not much to judge, it blurs between them and Jackie O's, so we will talk about their food. I tried GooodFriends before I tried Wario's. Currently, for me, Wario's dominates this relationship - mainly because they're fast, consistent, and all the sandwiches I have had blew me away. And I can sit down (Clintonville location). My first experience here was the Melt, and I was let down. A nice, soggy bun, and the back half fell out when I picked up the sandwich. It tasted like all meat and a watering of sauce, so it was just meh. And that big, messy sandwich and... one napkin. ONE. NAPKIN. I recently popped back in, tried the Ol Faithful, and it was solid. It definitely won me back - yeah, they have a lot of additions (foie Gra, caviar?) and... why? Maybe someone with more money than myself can explain what they add to a sandwich, but I digress. I haven't had the Spuds at this location, but I am guessing they're as solid here. HOLY SH** Absolutely insane. I ordered the Juicy Jackie, she was wild. The Goood sauce on the burger was tangy but not spicy. The burger was cooked perfectly and just a little messy. A friend also ordered the smashed potato fries with the Classy sauce, a white truffle BBQ. As someone 10000% obsessed with truffle, it is ranked probably my fav fry dipping sauce now. The food is pretty darn good. I met Gwen W here, and luckily is was early enough we both got spots in their lot. I grabbed a booth, and went to the bar for a cocktail. We then perused the food menu on the app. We ordered and paid on the app, then when we got the ready to pick up text, went oufside to the window and was given our orders. I had the Filet-O-Walleye sandwich, which was a nice size. I got the Smashed Spuds (delish), the FarmersOnly.salad (it's potato salad with green beans and I recommend it). I had the opportunity to visit goood Friends for their grand opening this evening at Jackie O's. It's a cloud kitchen inside Jackie Os that serve some smacking burgers and sandwiches. The place was packed at 6 pm on a Friday evening. We found place to sit on the patio but the place was busy for hours. We tried the Juicy Jackie, Ol faithful and the trashy Spuds. The Juicy Jackie burger was juicy and the friend onion gave it great texture. My personal favorite was the Ol Faithful chicken sandwich. It had truffle flavor with a slight heat to it. It's drizzled with some hot honey but not a lot so it balances it out. The loaded spuds were just okay for me. they lacked seasoning and very dry / almost stale and no one likes dry potatoes Overall loved the ambiance for a Friday night where you can grab some great beers and enjoy some burgers on the patio. Goood Friends' menu looks like a heart attack... and that's a compliment. After consuming some adult beverages onsite at Jackie O's, the brunch items were a must-get. The biscuit had good texture but lacked a little in flavor. Fortunately the butter and jam were able to pick up the slack. The McGooodGriddle and Sausage breakfast Sandwich were both greasy, meaty, fatty, carby pieces of work... and that's a compliment. I'm a huge fan of Wario's, so as soon as I heard about the Goood Friends concept opening up at Jackie-O's (another place I visit frequently), my taste buds started clamoring. The walk up window is in the patio area, and the menu and payment is entirely virtual by scanning a QR code. The current sandwich options include a mushroom beef burger, fried bologna, hot fried chicken, roast beef, fried walleye, and beefsteak. Sides include smashed spuds (Wario's), spuds with a bunch of toppings/sauce, elote and a salad. I tried the 'Warby's Melt' -- roast beef, wario wiz, horsey sauce, warby's sauce, and crispy onions, and a side of elote. It was a bit pricy ($22 total) but the sides are meant to be shared. They shoot you a text when the food is ready, and mine was done in under 5 minutes. My sandwich was alright, but not as good as I expected. It also has a pretty potent horseradish flavor, so if that's not your thing, beware. I think I was hoping for it to be on par with Wario's tried and true steak sandwich, but it didn't live up to that hype. The elote was pepperoni roll flavored which seemed a bit odd. And it was somewhat hard to eat, on the cob but cut into several chunks that left me unable to eat it without digging in with my hands. Overall, I think my expectations were set a bit too high for my first go at Goood Friends. That said, I find myself at Jackie-O's pretty frequently, so I'm bound to give it another shot. read more

Serving up your menu in the comfort of someone else's brick and mortar establishment seems to be the current trend, so a friend and I met for a Friday happy hour to check out Goood Friends had to offer. I had some high hopes, since these GF owners were already putting up some really good cheesesteaks - legit Philly style. The bar area is nice. It's pretty long, and looked to seat several patrons. There's TVs around, too, so I'd be game for watching football here. Their ordering and pick-up window's on the outside wall of Jackie O's, so you have to go outside to order and pick up your food. Obviously a great bonus on hot summer nights. I ordered their Beefsteak to eat in-house and got the Juicy Jackie burger to go. I really liked their Beefsteak, nice thick red and yellow tomato slices. I got the added bacon slices; those could have been cooked a bit crisper so the entire strips wouldn't come out on my first bite. Really that's my only suggestion for that sammie. My Juicy Jackie was meant for the next day, see how their leftovers game stacked up, and it was oh sooo GOOOD!! The two mushroom blended beef patties were very juicy - I'm always a fan of edible fungus - and the accompanied toppings were spot-on. I'm a sucker for anything onions - cooked/caramelized/lightly battered, so next time I may just have to ask for extras on that. I also liked that the sauces were a compliment, not overwhelming to hide possible deficits. Oh my word. Get here ASAP! Goood Friends is the food window at Jackie O's brewery. Despite being attached to the brewery, Goood Friends is a destination unto its own! Jackie O's is fun and cool, but it's really the food from Goood Friends that keeps me coming back. For any of my fellow anxious pals who shy away from trying new places because they don't know how the ordering system works: you order online via the QR codes posted throughout the brewery (or via their website) and pick the food up from the window on the (very cool and vibey) patio. The ordering system is super easy and convenient as they text you when your order is ready. Everything is packaged up and ready to go, so you're not standing around outside for too long (in other words, don't let cold weather deter you: you only need spend a grand total of 20 seconds outside, and the food is WELL worth it). Your order is conveniently packaged so that you can either dine in at the brewery or carry it out. The food here is playful, creative, and joyful. Maybe a weird way to describe food, but it's just true. You'll know what I mean once you take a bite. Everything is unspeakably delicious. It's like bar food that studied abroad but isn't pretentious about it. Their Juicy Jackie (burger), Old Faithful (spicy chicken sandwich), and Snackwrap (buffalo chicken Caesar wrap) are the stuff of dreams. If you're unsure where to start, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but I always recommend those 3 items to newbies-- and they're always a hit! We tried this place because they've been bombarding social media about their BRUNCH menu so we decided to give em a go. Upon arrival kinda got the feeling that the Jackie O staff felt INCONVENIENCED about questions regarding who, what, when, where, and how to order from GOODFRIENDS. There are some QR code menus on the table that gives you access to an online menu. Nevertheless when you open the menu if the kitchen is not ready to serve an item it will say OUT OF STOCK. From here you've got to guess if it's available to order again by REFRESHING THE PAGE. We wouldn't have known this until we were informed this by a bartender or barista who had an attitude that we were even asking the question and had to disseminate this information. We waited refreshing for about 20 mins until their kitchen adjusted their computer system and FINALLY had the items we wanted to order IN STOCK. You do everything on your smartphone with a credit card, order, the kitchen and pickup window attached to the building but outside of Jackie O's will text you with your order, you go back outside pick up your food and bring it in to eat. Again it's 20 degrees outside and this was our first time here so we didn't know this. If you're not PROACTIVE upon arrival then I can envision folks coming in thinking they're going to get an attentive waitress or something and putting in a food order and instead just sitting there hungry but probably not thirsty because Jackie O's seems to only care if you've got your drinks. Any food issues or ordering issues you best to bring it up outside at the pickup window with GoodFriends because Jackie O's is laissez faire on the food. We ordered Chicken Biscuit Sandwiches, the poutine brunch spuds, and biscuits and sausage gravy: Sausage Gravy and Biscuits: I'm a guy that enjoys seasoned food and salt but the sausage gravy was WAY TOO SALTY almost to the point it kind of ruined the dish. If they could've cut the salt by adding more cream or something to the gravy it would've been awesome. The BISCUITS here are AMAZING. Theyre HUGE brick sized scratch made biscuits and they give you two with an order of sausage gravy and biscuits. Chicken Sandwich: The biscuits are huge that when split in half hold up to the weight of this sandwich well. The chicken seemed to be maybe a pounded out chicken thigh that was moist and juicy with a good crunch and texture on the breading and coating. The cheese was either white cheddar or Gouda and the bacon here is tasty and unique. The sauce was great on this sandwich as well. Me and the wife split the sandwich and each half was about the size of our respective hands. ITS THAT BIG! Poutine: WOWZERS. This dish STOLE THE SHOW! This place is an offset or sister restaurant of Warios so if you've had their potatoes then you know they have a cooking method where they're smashed yet crunchy and crispy. This is awesome as it makes for an awesome base for the mornaise or hollandaise sauce they use with the seasoning that'll have you licking your fingers. The bacon was nice and crispy and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection to our liking. This was a HUGE DISH and we spit this as well as all the dishes they definitely give you your moneys worth. We'll be back to try some other things on their menu off of their dinner menu. The spicy chicken sandwich only got a couple bites as it was waaaaay overcooked. Glad I ordered a small salad and some fries. Unless you like your salad swimming in dressing order it on the side. I tried good friends this fall and just now getting to reviewing. I tried 3 different sandwiches and the trashy spuds. I wanted to try the vegetarian sandwich but they were all out, so I tried some other things instead. The bologna sandwich was my favorite-- I know, strange. I typically would never eat bologna but someone else ordered it and I got to try it. It was definitely reminiscent of a hotdog with thickly sliced bologna on the inside. The flavors were there and I enjoyed each bite! The chicken sandwich was pretty good-- the chicken stuck out of both sides and was super crispy. Maybe slightly too crispy? I pulled off the edge pieces and ate them alone. The hot honey-esque sauce and pickles were too my liking but could have been more plentiful to counteract the crispiness of the sandwich. The roast beef was my least favorite. It honestly just had way too much roast beef and other than that the only component was a horseradish sauce, which all dripped to the back portion leaving the front just... meaty. Too big to really take a bite and I wasn't a huge fan. The trashy spuds were tasty, crispy, and a nice size portion. I would order them again if I was in a loaded fries type of mood. The walk up window is actually also really high off of the ground which seems like an accessibility issue for some folks in the community. We got there 45 minutes before closing time, everyone in my party ordered food and I submitted my online order 2 minutes after everyone else - and oops, ordering was disabled for the night. I asked why, and they said because "they ran out of buns." What if I don't even care about the bun, or want to order something like fries that doesn't even need have a bun? Doesn't matter, kitchen was entirely closed for any orders. It's not that fun watching everyone else eat (and no other food options in the area). My kids took me to an early brunch today at Good Friends. They are located in the same building as Jack O's on 171 N 4th St. From my understanding Good Friends is owned by the same owner of Warios.. Never had Warios, but heard a lot of good things...Don't like to venture anywhere near downtown but since my kids said I get to pay for brunch why not!! Ordering is pretty easy. Scan the bar code, view the menu, customize your order and pay. You will get a text message when your order is done and the pick up order for Good friends is right outside. They do have a bar if you like to have some custom drinks. I was in the mood for a Bloody Mary but they were out. Also asked for a Baileys and coffee and they did not have that either. Items we ordered. Loaded spuds - eggs, hollaondaise sauce, some other sauce, bacon, cheese and some spuds that were cooked to happiness. It's a large portion could easily serve up to 4.. Thesausage - they slapped a hash brown in like i do with Mcdonald's Sausage and egg... This was way better... Up the street bagel - Had some minced ribeye some crack sauce (in a good way) . I took a bite and it was The Mcgoodgriddle - My wife and son had this and be prepared to use your hands. Pancake, sausage gravy, hash brown, sausage and egg. They need to change the name to finger licking good. KFC should no longer use that motto they done lost it to this.. My wife also ordered their biscuits and gravy and the gravy was slapping. The biscuits looked like two giant size pieces of cornbread but it wasn't corn bread. Moist and good.. . Overal summary - 9 out of 10! Good Friends breakfast sandwiches are absolutely on steroids! A superlative: I had the best fried chicken sandwich I have ever had at Goood Friends. The chicken was moist, the bacon was premium, there was a maple miso dressing, and the biscuit was substantial. I should say I rarely eat fried chicken nowadays, due to the doctor's warning about fried foods, meat, salt, etc. -- she scolded me and put me on blood pressure and cholesterol pills. But I have had my share of this meal in the past. The need to be mindful about diet also means if I indulge, it needs to be worth it. Otherwise, that intake of everything that will induce regret will do so all the sooner, for the wasted demerit not being offset by pleasure. I also should say I ate next door. The bar, Jackie O's, shares space and has a symbiotic relationship. But Goood and Jackie O's are separate. You order your meal, using a QR code and an app, as has become the modern norm, then you walk 10 seconds outside, up a ramp, to a takeout window (after a 5 minute wait for the victuals to be prepared). My appreciation likely was enhanced by appetite. But my judgment was not impaired. I was hungry. I had run a 9 mile race downtown. This was the closest high rated restaurant to the venue, serving lunch. So that is how I select, relying on Yelp. The bar was crowded at 11am. I infer it was a baby shower or gender reveal (when did that celebration become "a thing?" it is a shame they kill birds by painting them blue or pink or set off fireworks that destroy forests) or something similar, from the two dozen thirty somethings having brought Pamper's disposable diapers in bulk. Outside, another dozen diners were seated. For April, it was a bit nippy, and they had a fire going in a concrete pit. They have a parking lot. We were searching for something to eat on a Saturday night and have wanted to try Goood Friends for a bit now. It did not disappoint. I had the Let's Talk Turkey sandwich which was so yummy! I've never had a sweet potato on a sandwich, but after this I definitely would again. The bread was perfectly toasted, and all the flavors were so good together - green ranch, cranberry mustard, yum! We also got the trashy spuds and those were also really good. Super saucy, but in the best way! The service was also pretty quick, and they package the food well for takeout. Wow. Some of the most unique and delicious brunch food I've had. The portions are HUGE so come prepared. It is not the traditional sit down with a waiter experience (you order on your phone and go to a window to pick it up) but it adds to the vibes. The biscuit was so flaky and buttery and the potato's were perfectly crisp. Come hungry! read more

I love Wario's so why wouldn't I love Goood Friends too?! I've tried everyone sandwich on the menu and my favorites have to be the Juicy Jackie or the After School Snack. Most recently tried the Beefsteak tomato sandwich--if you love tomatoes, this is the sandwich for you! Super fresh tasting. Make sure to add bacon! And as always, get a side of spuds. I wish I could leave a good review because my first experience was great. However, when the system of relies on texts to notify you when your food is ready. The worst possible thing that can happen is for that text to simply never come. Which occurred to me and everyone at my table. We ordered and waited upwards of 30 minutes as we watched people who arrived after us receive their food. Waiting for a text. None came. Eventually I stood up and went to the food pickup window. And it turns out our food has been standing there for 25 minutes. Getting cold and stale. Fries were cold, and sandwich was lukewarm. My first visit was amazing but that experience my second time around really dissapointed me. And made me never want to go there again. If I can't trust the text notification system then why would I pay $14 for a 50% chance to get a cold chicken sandwich? read more
