I'm so happy my son and I stumbled on this place. It's right in downtown Grove City and there is free parking in the back. The place is a bit small. We walked in and asked to be seated by the host in the middle of the restaurant. Our waitress brought out waters from a cute water jug. Everything on the menu looked delicious. My son ordered the biscuits and gravy flight and I ordered the 4 little pig omelette. We both got the potatoes for our sides. They brought out some sweet hush puppies with a sweet sauce that was so yummy. It was a little sweet surprise before our meal came out. My son's dish was so big! It had 3 giant sides biscuits with 2 being savers and one sweet. The other plate had the gravies. He loved his meal. I also enjoyed mine. It had plenty of protein and so flavorful. We both agreed that the potatoes were just ok. All in all we definitely recommend this restaurant: Service was excellent and food was delicious! The little balls of sweet surprise put it on our top list for breakfast spots. read more

I had a really nice experience at Broadway Standard this afternoon. I ordered something on their dinner specials sign, the chicken fried steak very delicious very tender It's hard to get a good chicken fried steak these days. This chicken fried and mashed potatoes are very good. The gravy is not bad. Odd thing to say, but they had the best pepper shaker I've ever used. My neighbors got breakfast. I'm not sure what, but the servings were enormous. It's a comfortable spot, not very big there is outside seating. Tables and benches inside. My server was pleasant and efficient. A small dessert is included with thmeal. I got the banana wafer. eDinner special, but closes at 2:30 every day. Prices are pretty steep. It would have been 5 stars otherwise. This was our second time visiting this restaurant and this time we went for lunch. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with the Pasta corn salad. The chicken salad had peaches and pecans in it which I loved but I did not enjoy the red onions with a fruity chicken salad. The pasta corn salad had tiny ditalini pasta with a few kernels of corn and mayonnaise. It had very little flavor. My husband enjoyed his cheeseburger and side of macaroni and cheese. Our waitress was great. She checked on us multiple times. The restaurant is neat and clean. We were offered a complimentary small dessert of peach or blueberry crisp/crumble or banana pudding. read more

This place is a must try! Everything on the menu sounded amazing. We unfortunately missed breakfast because lunch starts at 11am. But. It was delicious. Just means we have to go back for breakfast another time. The gravy flight looked amazing. I got the BLT. I love me a BLT and this one was next level. The fig spread is an amazing addition. My husband got the catfish Sammy and really enjoyed it. The Mac n cheese was delicious the corn salad was so good. And. Dessert is FREE. The banana pudding and the peach cobbler were both on point. Went back the next day, because the food was sooooo good! The crawfish étouffée was outstanding! I went with the red beans and rice side (along with the corn Mac from the day before) that came with a couple slices of sausage that had great flavor. Based on past experiences, I assumed it wasn't andouille because I've never liked any I've tried in the past. I mentioned it to the owner and he told me they source it from the same place/person they get their crawfish. Really, really good sausage. read more

Saw this place on Good Morning Columbus and having moved here from Arkansas wanted to try it out. So, to start you off they bring out complimentary apple fritters with the very best apple butter you have ever tried. My wife ordered the Georgia on my mind. Thick French toast with bourbon brown sugar Georgia peaches, ice cream and candied pecans. As amazing as it sounds and looks. I tried the omelet with mushrooms, onions and spinach with provolone cheese. Both ours came with grits and home fries. The grits are outstanding and the home fries come out hot and not greasy! I ordered the biscuit because there was leftover apple butter. Coffee was good and as they have some good stuff for lunch we will be back soon! What a great new restaurant we have here in Grove City. We were greeted warmly and seated. The seating is wood chairs and benches. Plenty of room on the tables. Nice and clean. Our waitress, Elizabeth, greeted us with complimentary apple fritters with apple butter. Yum! She was wonderful!! We came for breakfast and ordered at the recommendation of fellow diners sitting next to us, an omelet and the biscuit flight. In my omelet I ordered onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and gouda cheese. The veggies were cut up small which I appreciated so that they were cooked tender. The omelet was a good size (3 eggs) and took half home. You got to choose two sides and I chose home fries (which were cooked perfectly with the skins on and not greasy) and fresh fruit (tasted in season!). My husband, in addition to the biscuit flight, ordered scrambled eggs and sausage. They make everything from scratch (except the french fries) and that was the best sausage. The owner puts his own seasonings in. YUM! In the biscuit flight you get three different biscuits (a fruit one, cheesy one, and regular) and you choose three gravies from country, sausage, chorizo, and chocolate (a southern tradition). He chose everything except the country. We liked them all. The chocolate one was different (not bad), the chorizo was a little spicy (like chorizo is so it didn't burn your mouth), and the sausage one was our favorite because we loved the spices he used. The food is as good. They have some very unique items you can't get anywhere else. For breakfast you get complimentary apple fritters and homemade apple butter, they are really good! Their fried bologna Sammy and red beans and rice are some of my favorite for lunch. Plus you get a free dessert. Banana pudding the waitresses are all friendly & so nice. Dining Room had standard tables with chairs, half booth / half chair tables, and a barstool / dining counter set up inside with seasonal patio seating outside. There is an open concept kitchen that you can best see into from the counter seating. The interior is cozy and intimate as one would expect from a small mom and pop venue. What we had: Fried Green Tomatoes: Lightly coated with a well seasoned flour batter and deep fried crispy on the outside and soft - almost- on the inside. The slices of tomato were thick as advertised but the rock hard core was not removed or scored to soften it and as such was nearly impossible to cut and had a mouth feel similar to chewing wood. Some slices were fried golden brown and others were extremely dark brown- almost black. While nothing tasted burnt, it was not visually appealing by any stretch of the imagination. They were served over a bed of baby greens. The house ranch atop was very tasty and made the greens a great salad vs. just being there to hide the oil drain off from the fried items. I would consider ordering these again if I could be sure the rock hard tomato cores were addressed and if not- I would have to put this on my list of "you tried hard but not quite," and keep searching for a place that can get this dish right. Crawfish Étouffée: I was seriously looking forward to this one. When the item arrived it was in a TINY cup and only later did I realize this came in two sizes of cup and bowl. I assume I got the cup version because it was maybe 5 ounces tops. The crawfish was almost mushy. I have never had crawfish overcooked that much so I was surprised and confused. The flavor was spot on - nicely spiced but not too hot - and the gravy was appropriately thick and creamy so I gave the mush factor a pass but heads up if you are a traditionalist and want a meatier texture from your seafood. The rice that this was served on was so overcooked and water logged that I had to go back and look at the menu photo to make sure it was not grits that it was served on and I had somehow lost mind and thought it was rice. I ate the crawfish and gravy and left the rest behind and considering the rice is 2/3 of this tiny serving- this became a very expensive choice for me to make. Macaroni and Cheese: I have had all kinds of M&C in my life. I have seen all styles of pasta with all kinds of sauce all from over the planet; I have made all variations for scores of people in my lifetime. My obit will probably quote how much I love any pasta with any cheese so - that being said - it is super safe to say I am pretty open to any version you can throw at me. This version did not do it for me whatsoever. The spiral noodles were cooked perfectly and a visually appealing option for this side that was served stone cold. Yeah, I was shocked too - stone from the fridge cold. The rest of my meal was warm to hot (depending on the dish) so I was taken back by how cold this was. Further confusion ensued when I tried to find the cheese sauce. If there was any, it had long since drained off the noodles and wallowed in the bottom of the cooking vessel and never made it to my ramekin. Red Beans and Rice: Nice, buttery soft but not mushy beans served over appropriately cooked rice that was all perfectly seasoned. Three slices of sausage were nearly stacked along the rim of the ramekin. Double cheese: Two average sized burgers with American cheese on an average bun with your average toppings. The fries were crisp on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. Nicely seasoned without being too much one way or the other. All said - it was nothing more and nothing less than an average burger so no surprises on this dish. Apple Cobbler: Everyone has their own take on this and some folks use a bunch of cinnamon in their recipe. This place is one of those. If you like that generous amount of fall spice in your cobbler you are going to adore this treat; if you prefer to taste your apples and have it balanced with the cinnamon and accompanying spices that go into your cobbler - pass on this. Sides & dessert are about a 3 oz (less than 2 tablespoons) so even though they are included they felt more like a sample. In summary - Atmosphere- cute and cozy with loud music so it is hard to talk to your guests without shouting at them. Food: Quality is lacking in preparation and temperature and hopefully will be addressed as the business gets more feedback. Service : Friendly, fast, efficient, and engaging. They are still new and learning, or maybe this was just not their day and I caught them at a bad time, so I will return at a later date and see if they have improved. No a big fan. Lots of people seem to like it but we went on a Thursday at about 11. Not packed but service was slow. Waited 30 minutes for the meal. Biscuits were dry and the gravy was not what we thought as southern. Fried Bologna was Burt. Pancakes were flat like they needed some baking soda, collard greens were dry. Will not be going back. Wife actually ended up in the hospital a short time later but I hope it wasn't from the food. read more

Went to the restaurant for Sunday breakfast. Service was a bit slow as they looked understaffed and also had issues with their handhelds so had to revert to paper. First set of utensils had food on it. Asked for new ones. Beverages were delivered and the servers hair came close to dipping into the drinks. However they corrected that quickly. Food was good. I would go back to try some of the different items and see if the experience improved. It's worth another try as Grove City needs restaurants that aren't chains read more
