I know it's the peak of Summer but the temperature inside the restaurant was freezing, I'm talking uncomfortably cold. The hostess asked what we wanted to drink before we could even sit down and then proceeded to come back after what felt like 60 seconds to take our order which made my teenager anxious. We ordered a pancake in addition to the omelet and both were mediocre and nothing memorable. The omelet toppings did taste fresh but there was an overwhelming amount of american cheese inside. I had dropped off my son's truck to get it worked on, and decided to stop by and grab some breakfast at Delaney's. I really enjoyed the style of this diner, such a throwback to old school clientele, and had such a nostalgic feel to it. I remember my dad taking my brother and I to spots like this in Oklahoma growing up, and thought it was just right to take my son here and not just enjoy some quality time with my son, but to enjoy some breakfast. Now we didn't order anything fancy, honestly, I wasn't really hungry, so I ordered the Avocado toast, and my son had the oatmeal bowl. To be honest, I really like how simple this food was, but in all truth, how really delicious it was too. The eggs were cooked just how I like them, the fresh taste of the avocado was on point. My son enjoyed his oatmeal and brown sugar. The young man waiting our table (Logan), was a good kid, quick to take our order, quick on the coffee, and extremely polite. No doubt the manager knows, that kid is a keeper. The establishment was very clean, and just had a clean shine to it. My wife and I have eaten at Delaney's in Groveport many times and usually have a good experience, but today was very different. My wife found a hair in her food after taking only one bite. Our waitress handled it professionally and apologized right away, saying she would get the manager. The manager never came to our table. Instead, we were given a $7.50 discount, but no one offered to remake her meal or make things right. That's basic customer service, and it didn't happen. I still paid my bill and left a 30% tip because the issue wasn't the waitress, she did her job. The problem was management. Based on how this was handled, we won't be returning, and I'll be sharing this experience with others. Customers deserve better than being ignored. read more

WOW! First time in Groveport. Cute little town with lots of charm. And apparently some of the best breakfast offerings I've ever had! Delaney's was recommended to me by some family who live here in Ohio. Glad I gave it a shot. This place looks small from the outside, but definitely has a good bit of space inside. Lots of seating. Vintage diner vibes, but clean. Our waitress was such a sweetheart! Checking up on us regularly and topping off my coffee every time she passed. This place probably gets busy, and for good reason. The food is just as great as the service. The Indy 500 blew my mind. I was not expecting such a huge pork tenderloin. The thing barely fit on the plate and was smothered in sausage gravy. The thing was so big they had to put my potatoes on a separate plate. The "quality over quantity" rule doesn't apply here. Their huge plates of food are just as delicious as they look. Now the best part- how affordable it is. $13 for this massive breakfast that I finished for dinner too. This one meal kept me full all day and the left overs were enough to eat again! Now, maybe Im biased because I'm visiting from out of state. But this is both the best and cheapest breakfast meal I've ever had. read more

I ordered the corned beef hash and braised eggs. It was very good. Eggs were cooked just the way I like them. My husband had an omelette and it had a good amount of meat and cheese. He was happy! Ainsleigh was our waitress and she checked on us several times and refilled our drinks. This was the first time we went to Delaney's and we were pleased with how clean the restaurant was compared to other diners. The restaurant was quiet which made it easy to share a conversation. Odd building, as Delaney's entrance is around back (there's no door facing Main Street). And the parking "lot" is an odd shape, not visible from the road, and no signage is posted how to get to it. Just beware. Inside is pretty spacious with lots of tables and a small bar area for diner-style stool seating. The menu is the same as the other Delaney's. This time round, I got a Veggie Delight Omelette with egg whites and added sausage. Swapped the hash browns for a slice of their French toast - the waitress gal said it was a fav. Yes, I agree, their thick and fluffy French toast was fantastic. Nothing new-age or showy, just down-home American food at its best. The hash browns were also nicely seasoned. The omelette was very good, not to mention filling. I picked provolone for the cheese which went great with the sausage and veggies - a deconstructed Philly Cheesesteak double the protein, minus the bun. Great addition to Groveport! read more

We sat at the counter and like many other restaurants they are short on staff. Aside from the six groups at the counter our server was taking care of three other tables. Service suffered a bit. Just stopped by for the first time this morning . . . the restaurant was a hot mess! The Greeter's station was filled with cleaning cloths, spray bottles, tissues and the menus were heaped in a pile on a rickety table next to it. Not a great first impression. The Server who greeted us sat us at a small table in the main area. There were two other couples and two guys at the counter. We checked out the menu, and as we waited to be assisted I checked the place out. It was seriously unorganized. The kitchen and serving prep areas are all in plain view. The Serving Prep area had no less than 3 abandoned/used rags just sitting on the counter next to spray bottles (cleaners of some kind?), there was disorganized utensils laying on the counter, the "Employee Only" storage area was in disarray - the shelves were very messy, the floor needed a good sweep. We waited 10 minutes after getting seated - no water, coffee or table set up - she spent her time at the counter chatting with the other server, filling a water pitcher, chatting with the counter guys. She did deliver two plates to one table. The second server retreated to the open "employee only" area and never came out. The cook made eye contact, seemed to understand we were waiting but did nothing. When we got up to leave & had put our coats on, a full 15 minutes after being initially seated, the server came over to say "I've been so busy, can I get you some water?" HORRID Service. According to our waitress this is a recently new restaurant. It was very clean and the service was great! The manager on shift came to make sure we were satisfied with everything. My meal was great but the blueberry pancakes really take the cake! A friend got hash browns as a side and unlike other places these shredded hash browns had flavor! They refuse to properly scramble eggs no matter how much you complain. The cook will not do it. Want well done hash browns? Not happening. I've asked and complained on three occasions. I don't often do reviews but I felt the need to warn others about this restaurant. The service was subpar, the wait was long even though it wasn't busy, but worse than anything was the food. The food was terrible. I couldn't even eat my meal. I never got the chance to voice my concerns onsite because our waitress never checked on us after dropping our meals off. I had a sausage and cheese omelette that was strongly seasoned with something that was a mix of curry, rosemary, and possibly onion powder. Certainly not breakfast seasonings one would expect from this restaurant. In addition, the sausage was not a breakfast sausage but rather a pizza sausage. This same sausage and strange seasoning was present in the sausage gravy as well. The hash browns were soggy and lacked any seasoning. This was the worst breakfast meal I've tasted. I did not eat this meal, it was not edible. We paid and left. What a shame too because this is a cute location and we had heard good things. This place is nestled in old town Groveport, and this was my first visit. What a beautiful place! This is classic old town diner, but very clean and spacious. It is open for breakfast and lunch and you can order both breakfast and lunch anytime. My waitress was super friendly and very helpful with the menu items, we went for breakfast but I chose to get the pasta salvi. It is fettuccine Alfredo that is cooled in a pan and cut into squares, rolled in a breading, and then deep fried. They then put marinara sauce with it. It is outstanding! My friend got the chicken marsala, and was not impressed at all. I have never seen chicken marsala without pasta and he said it was not tasty at all. But my food was amazing. Something else you might need to know is that there is no door in the entire front or sides of the restaurant. It's very awkward to find how to get in and we ended up walking through mulch and landscaping, trying to figure it out. That is a huge negative! But overall I would love to go again. read more

We usually go to Delaney's in Reynoldsburg but decided to try this one as it is closer to our home. I ordered biscuits and gravy and it was lukewarm and congealed. I didn't ask for it to be reheated because the gravy was covering over easy eggs, which were cooked correctly, and I didn't want to make them overdone. My husband ordered the pork sandwich and his food was hot so I think our meals just came out of the kitchen at very different times. I have been to this restaurant many times. The food and service are both excellent. I love their breakfast casserole, but it sells out most weekends because it's so good.
