Stopped in on a Thursday for lunch. We were seated right away, and service remained friendly and prompt. I ordered the HOE Benny with HOE fries, which had chorizo and a Tex Mex flair. My coworker raved about the smoked chicken salad sandwich - she love the flavor and amount of chicken. I think large groups would be difficult to seat her, especially on the weekends. Our booth could have fit 6, but more of the tables were for 4 and didn't look easy to move. read more

Hangover Easy has been one of our go-to breakfast spots for years. It's a classic diner in the heart of a college town, and the atmosphere has an electric, fun college vibe that fits the setting perfectly. The chicken and waffles are consistently excellent and are one of the main reasons we keep coming back. I'd normally give this place five stars, but this last visit did feel like a few balls got dropped. They appear to have switched to a different coffee creamer that tasted artificial and ruined their coffee for us, and our server was a bit inattentive, forgetting a few of our requests. That said, this has consistently been a fantastic breakfast spot over the years, and one off visit isn't enough to change that. If you're looking for a casual, reliable breakfast with great food, Hangover Easy is absolutely worth a visit. read more

Very delicious and classic breakfast right near campus, always a favorite of mine Service was awesome and it was a quiet morning but it's super fun and cute inside with the decor My boyfriend ordered an omelette (something verde?) and enjoyed it! I got the sausage skillet which has been my go to since college, it's very flavorful and a big portion, I couldn't even finish it on this time. We each got a biscuit with our breakfast which was quite hefty and dense, not exactly a traditional biscuit and a little thick and drier for my taste but certainly not bad. A lovely visit before walking campus! read more

The Garden Party was a delicious omelette with sautéed mushroom, arugula, tomato, pickled red onion, and swiss. I chose sourdough as my toast. We ordered for pickup, so I can't speak to the service or ambiance! Unfortunately, they did forget to include the orange juice and we pre-paid online:( read more

Skip the common restaurant chains and visit this local spot for brunch. It's walking distance from the OSU Wexner Medical Center. Service was fast and friendly in a clean, fun atmosphere. They had so many great choices. It was really hard to pick just one menu item. The chicken was crispy and juicy and buffalo sauce was not overwhelming. The waffle was cooked just right and extra delicious with a side of stewed cinnamon apples. read more

Omelet was well-proportioned vegetables were fresh, and overall taste was . Price was very fair. Sweet potato tots were ample, crispy on the outside and gooey and soft on the inside. Not sure what the sauce was that was included (in photo above) but it was too sweet for my liking. Quick delivery, packaged properly, so I'm assuming the service is good Highly recommend to anyone with a hankering for healthy, fresh breakfast staples. read more

Great experience at HangOverEasy! Our waitress Kylie was awesome! Attentive and helpful in suggesting places to visit on our short getaway. The area was a little deserted as it was Thanksgiving weekend and Ohio was playing at The Big House, but that worked out in our favor as there was no wait and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Food was great! I got the season Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll pancakes. They're topped with a cinnamon cream cheese and were great as is - no syrup necessary. We ordered Trillionaire Bacon. I was worried I wouldn't like it because it was fairly thick cut and looked fatty, but looks are deceiving because it was delicious! Would definitely be back if we're ever in the area again. Ask for Kylie! read more

This place can get crowded during prime brunch hours in fall and spring when the bulk of students are on campus. But to their credit, the staff keeps things moving, and you can get in and out in a reasonable time. For this trip, I baconed myself to bliss by having the Hog's Wash cocktail (bourbon, syrup, candied bacon... and maybe a splash of ginger) and then their The Road Not Bacon burger with two huge pieces of black pepper candied bacon. I liked both but I the cocktail was actually the greater of two goods in this case. I wish the burger had more bacon jam or some other condiment to "wet it up" a bit. My wife's chicken and waffles was darned good, too. Similar to my offerings, the waffle was good, but the chicken was that much better. And it's not a trip to HOE if you don't get a buttermilk biscuit. Those things at the Olde Town East location are addictive. The one's on campus didn't quite measure up this time. read more

My review isn't about the food or service, it's about the inconsiderate people that sit at at their table an hour after they've finished eating on their phones when we've been waiting 2 hrs for a table and we're quoted 45 min fit a wait time read more

I had the Frogs Eyes and they made the eggs perfectly (runny yoke and no burnt edges) Fantastic! The sausage gravy tasted very good and the biscuit was fluffy. I wish there was a bit more gravy as the biscuit was big. I really enjoyed the food. It is a cute restaurant in University area and I saw much more then just students so I think locals frequent there also. Our server was very friendly and helpful with me when I paid using my phone. We laughed since it was my first time using the drop pay feature. I really had a great time there! read more

I've been craving pancakes so I decided to drop into HangOverEasy. It looked like the place was pretty full but thankfully the bar seating was open. I sat down and it didn't take long for a server to drop by and give me a menu. Straight away I ordered a black coffee. Honestly my first cup was pretty lukewarm but had good flavor. I ended up having 3 cups and the second 2 cups were good temp. While I was sitting there a different server asked if anyone at the bar would like the Bloody Mary she made. I thought that was pretty nice even though I passed. For breakfast I got my pancakes and a side of sausage. The pancakes were a double stack. They were fluffy and tasty. Really hit the spot. The sausage was one huge patty that had a nice hint of spice to it. I was very happy with my breakfast. Also I found my server to be very pleasant and twice I remarked she had read my mind bringing me things I had just opened my mouth to ask for. Gotta love that! read more

This was such a great diner experience in Columbus! The location itself was a bit on the small side, which resulted in a wait but once we got in service was fast. The food was fantastic and the coffee was piping hot which was helpful on the chilly day we went. Definitely recommend if you're in the area! read more

Small and busy college breakfast spot. Found this spot passing through town. Food was average. Service was good. Fast and friendly. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was like fried chicken tenders with buffalo type sauce. I personally did not care for the waffles underneath. They got a bit too soggy with the hot chicken sauce and juices placed on top. I personality could not handle the heat on the chicken. Needed ranch. Should have asked for the sauce on the side. The chicken fried steak was ok. Eggs were cooked and served as ordered. The drink was the highlight. Their menu was entertaining with the creative food options listed. The walls were covered with cool and amusing jokes and wall art as well. We parked on the street. read more

Country breakfast delicious. Was welcomed in and got seated right away for a party of 3. I ordered a CBH Hoemade corned beef. Delicious really good and recommended. I don't eat pork but had a lot of great options on their menu. Ordered a Vietnamese coffee with my breakfast definitely needed for my morning. They got country music playing and enjoyed our breakfast. read more

The burrito was so bland it actually tasted like nothing. Chicken strip was also not great but at least had a little flavor.

First timer: the atmosphere was super fun with lots of references to the acronym of their name. The food was great, service was quick and friendly. Not pictured, my friend's chicken and waffles. I loved what I got, but the chicken and waffles were so freaking good! Can't go wrong with anything here. read more

First lemme preface this by saying that this place is perfect for what it is: a greasy spoon breakfast place on a college campus. You get a lot of food for the money you spend and it's a great meeting place for breakfast (the morning after) and/or for brunch (when you sleep in). The service was ok, not great, just ok. The food was as you would expect, but keep in mind that they've got HOE-fries on the menu so don't expect a lot of gentility. They're a bunch of hard working people trying to keep up with gangs of people falling in the place with great regularity. Besides they give you the good hot coffee with both regularity and abundance. If you're by yourself I'd suggest sitting at the bar because it's quite the convivial environment that's just perfect for groups. A very likable place, just be ready for the energy that it provides. read more

My group dined in and had a good experience. The food was very good and the bloody mary was amazing. Our waitress Hannah did an excellent job, she was very friendly and had great service. However, the chef was very rude. Someone in my group sent back their meal since they didn't take out cheese in their omelette when they requested no cheese due to an allergy. The chef came out and argued with her about it, which was very uncomfortable. Even with this experience, I intend to be back. read more

We stumbled in this spot on Friday around noon. It was pretty packed and there was about a 15 minute wait. This place has so much character! And the menu options are pretty much endless. It's been awhile since I've been to Hang Over Easy, but came on a Sunday around 1, parking was a bit annoying but there was no wait at the restaurant. I ordered a coffee and Bloody Mary for drinks. They were good, but I had to practically beg for refills of my water and coffee. Got the breakfast tacos with guac added forizo and my boyfriend got the avocado toast. Both so yummy, really filling. Just wasn't thrilled with the ambiance, and the service was really poor. Like I mentioned, I had to wave the waitress over to get more coffee, then again later for water, maybe it was the end of her shift but she did not care about checking on us. Good food though, just not my favorite place anymore. read more

Stopped in for an early weekday brunch and a bloody mary after a concert the night before. The top-shelf "local" bloody mary was pretty great (and fairly priced) but could have used more than a half-stick of celery as an add-in. But worth ordering. I had their "Hoebennie" (HOE-Hang Over Easy?). Okay to good but not great. The avocado was fresh and the best part of the meal. The eggs were "medium" rather than poached for some reason (TBF, it says that in the item description). The chorizo was okay. Side potatoes not bad. Service fairly friendly. Prices reasonable. So not the best brunch I've ever had, but not the worst by any means. The atmosphere/vibe of the place is solid. read more

Food was good, except I wish it was warmer/hot--biscuit wasn't cooked all the way. The server didn't look like she was happy. You can definitely tell when a person is in a good mood versus bad mood. It shows ALL in their face. Our daughter goes to school at Ohio State and we have been wanting to try this place forever . We could never get in!!! Now we know why!!! There were four of us for breakfast early on a Sunday morning. No problem getting in. The atmosphere is wonderful, so bright and friendly. The wait staff was very attentive. We all absolutely loved what we ate! When the bill came I was pleasantly surprised; I felt as though we had all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and it was absolutely worth what we paid for!! I decided to chicken and waffles. They look so good when I see them. The most disappointing thing I've had. The chicken is so overdone and so hard can barely eat it. The waffle is nothing fancy. I paid $14 for this. And it was one of the most disappointing experiences because I expected them to actually be good. I read the reviews and a lot of people like them, but my chicken is so overdone. I really can't even eat it. I would not waste your money on this place. read more

The last time I went to Hang Over Easy on The Ohio State University campus, they served Pepsi products. Very happy that now they serve Craft made Sodas. Very happy with the Chicken and Waffles with HOE Fries and my friend and coach had the Avocado Toast with HOE Fries. Best Chicken and Waffles that I ever had. He enjoyed the Avocado Toast and both of us loved the HOE Fries, their version of potatoes. My drink was Cola Zero, the hand crafted soda and he got great coffee. I have had their food in the past and very pleased. This last time wasn't as good. Portion size was smaller, cost was higher, it still was tasty. My cousin and I came in today for brunch. I think this place would be a great fit for people who are drinking or drunk because you wouldn't care about the quality or the taste of the food you're eating! They're too expensive and short staffed and the food and drinks are disappointing as well as disgusting. Ordered a Vietnamese cold brew and it tasted nothing like it's supposed to taste it was worse than a regular iced coffee. The Philly cheesesteak omelette was basically thick slices of meat shoved into an egg that literally tasted like liver bits which I had to push to the side because it was inedible. The toast was dripping in butter and the food overall was greasy. The cinnamon roll French toast was extremely greasy and barely tasted of bread pudding. The pinky promise drink barely tasted of alcohol and it was extremely sweet. Definitely not worth the hype! read more

So I found my new Breakfast / Diner to eat at when going to OSU . Breakfast was really good the egg selection, pancakes, French toast all sounded delicious and what we ordered was. I stopped by here while walking around, and boy, was it a good decision. We got in right before the breakfast rush.,the menu is a barcode scanner on the table. It didn't take long for the server to take our drinks order, followed by food, and even that came out pretty fast. The potatoes were so good I could have enjoyed that alone, lol. We wanted someplace to start the day off right! I'm a brunch girl, so taking me anywhere that entails brunch will always make me happy! After looking for places in the area, we found this unique spot! Their concept was greasy spoon and hair of the dog to start your day off and fend off that hangover. We loved it here! When you walk in, there are a million things to see. The walls are COVERED in all sorts of random things. We enjoyed checking it all out. Our waitress was so incredibly kind! She was quick to bring us our drinks and our food was pretty quick too. All of the drinks were perfectly made. They have a cocktail list to choose from, or you can order one of your own favorites. The food...holy moly! The food was amazing. Everything was homemade! You definitely want to grab the biscuits when you come! I chose a more traditional breakfast with sunnyside up eggs and extra crispy bacon. The home fries were so delicious! My travel mate chose chicken fried steak with gravy. I had never had it so I got a taste. It definitely wasn't my thing. But it was gobbled up quickly! We both agreed that the biscuits were delicious. Guess I have already said that though. We left with very full bellies and a smile on our faces. We absolutely would come back. If you are in Columbus, COME HERE!! read more
