I'm very disappointed in how I was treated. The sign on the door says they close at 230. We get there at 2 expected to be seated to eat and they say they are only taking to go orders. Clearly there was a couple sitting there waiting to get food and it was after 2. I feel very discriminated against because they were Caucasian. I will not be back! read more

I've driven by this diner on Schrock Road a number of times since I work around the corner. Today was my first meal at The Pancake House. Couldn't decide between breakfast for lunch or a turkey club sandwich. Chose the breakfast. Make your own omelet with hash browns and a side of 3 pancakes. I got filled right away with all three. Not many booths inside but they do have a counter with individual seats. Service from my waitress was great and friendly. I will certainly return for another lunch meal. I think the pancake house is my favorite small diner in Columbus! It is super tiny and sometimes you have to wait for a table but it is worth it. There is not a lot of parking so sometimes you have to park in the parking lot over to the left of it but that's okay. I have not tried anything that I didn't like at this restaurant. My favorite is the corned beef hash with 2 eggs any style and hash browns. It is definitely my go to. You can always substitute toast that also comes with it for a pancake and sometimes I do. My step sister ordered the Churro pancake our last visit, their delicious buttermilk pancake deep fried, topped with tres leches drizzle, and dusted with cinnamon and powdered sugar. This was our first visit to The Pancake House. It's small and we had a little wait, but not too long. My husband ordered the Buckwheat pancakes with a side of sausage links. I ordered the Chorizo with eggs meal which comes with hash browns and choice of toast, french toast, or buttermilk pancakes. I opted for pancakes (because, Pancake House!). The Chorizo and eggs are flavorful, cooked with onion and tomatoes. I really liked them. The hash browns were ok, could have been a little more crispy. The buttermilk pancakes were good, two large pancakes- it was a lot of food. My husband enjoyed his buckwheat pancakes, three large pancakes that filled the plate, again a lot of food. First time here on a Saturday morning. I met a friend and we had to wait about 15-20 for a table, but we were able to sit while waiting. There are only a few parking spaces, so you'll most likely have to park over in the shopping center lot. The place is really small, with tables, booths, and a counter. We used to get breakfast to go a few times a year over the past 10 years. We usually got the cinnamon roll pancakes which were excellent because the brown sugar mixture was baked into the pancakes. We were craving buckeye pancakes and decided to try those for the first time and would love to have another alternative over George's Beechwold for them. Well, we watched them put the pancakes together and were very disappointed to see the chocolate and peanut butter chips are just dumped in a pile on top of the stack. So these are plain pancakes with a pile of chips. Nothing in every bite like pretty much every other place that serves chocolate chip pancakes. The other problem with this is the pancakes on their own (which we've never had without add in/ons) are bad. I don't know if it's the mix they use or they are picking up other food on the grill or what but we had to drown it in syrup to make them edible. This place is what a diner should be. Ownership is on site, they are kind, skilled and care. I am hooked on the cornmeal pancakes, but I've not had a miss ever. This was our first time coming to a Pancake House, and the reason I'm giving it four stars is because we sat in a booth that was just across from the front door, and it was twenty degrees outside, so BRRR! The décor was die-hard Buckeye"ish" with bright red curtains. I thought the spatula curtain brackets were unique. Now for the food: I like corned beef hash, and not many places have this, so I ordered the eggs, corned beef hash, and potatoes, and it came with a side of French toast. The meal was perfectly cooked, and the portion was more than enough for me. I even had to take the French toast home. The workers were very attentive and energetic, always asking if they could top off my husband's coffee. They even asked if he wanted to take a cup to-go! Veggie omelette with hash browns and side of buttermilk pancakes. So very good. Hash browns cooked perfectly crisp. Tons of veggies and cheddar. The pancakes rocked. Not like chain establishments where the pancakes are HUGE. You get three and it's the nice equivalent as 1.5 which is a balanced side. My husband got the works omelette with the side of French Toast. Smart. 3 half slices. About a 10-15 min wait checking in around 11ish am. Would do it again. Five booths. One table and the bar. Small enough to manage and keep the establishment hopping. This was my first time back in a while, I ordered the steak and eggs, and a churro pancake. I asked for my steak medium, it showed up well done, but the kitchens was so behind I didn't dare send it back and risk having to wait 20 minutes or more for an appropriately cooked steak (I understand this is not a steak house). I would like to compliment them in the churro pancake however, they manage to match the taste and texture of a traditional churro, but translate it in to pancake form. So very well done. Ok the food baseline is great anyway but let me tell you about these new churro pancakes. I like churros. These were next level. I don't even know how to explain it. It was a pancake but it was perfectly fried and just enough of the cinnamon/sugar and icing stuff. They gave this to us after we ate our whole meals and we were SO full (great portions) but we wanted to order 5 more, each, anyway. The is the "best" breakfast I've had while living in OH. In my personal opinion, the food and service supersedes IHOP. Although it's a small diner, the service is superb and turn around is very quickly because of their amazing service. Boyfriend and I stopped in for the first time for breakfast. This is a small place with counter seating and like 8 tables. They are OSU fans with several wall hangings and curtains with spatulas. Pamela was our server and she was sweet and very attentive to our table. I ordered hash browns with mushrooms & onions and a fruit cup with grapes, bananas & blueberries. My BF ordered french toast, 2 sausage patties & hash browns with onions. Our food was fresh and made to order. I tasted the french toast and it was very good.
