My mother quit cooking years ago and this became one of my parents' breakfast spots. Every week my dad would pick up 2-3 orders of hash browns with onions for my mom to have as part of her breakfast. I've been a few times to see what the fuss is about. It's mainly a self serve place as in you place your order at a kiosk, pay for it, sit at a table, and pick up your order when it's ready. But for those who want to pay with cash, people who haven't been here before, or those who want a person to take their order, there is a live person! I have to say I do like the hash browns (hold the onions) because the aren't too greasy, taste like potatoes, and have a mixture of crispy and non-crispy pieces. I was impressed with the service when the person pulling together my order asked me to come over and let him know if the bacon was too crispy for my taste. I was in the area and looking for a quick bite I stopped here, even tho Yelppies giving only 3 stars, but my experience is 5/5 When I first walked in, I don't see anyone at the counter, but two people in front of me and they ordering on the iPad display on the counter, so I'm thinking maybe that's how they do it here. When is my turn, I never been here before, it took me a little time to play around the iPad and look over the menu, now my eyesight is not very good when it come closer, I have to take my glasses off, and get closer. A lady came out, her name is Sofia, she was so kind, she took off the iPad and hand it to me, so I can read it more easily. I told her I never been there before, so I'm just reading over the menu, she asked if I have any questions, really friendly. After I ordered, I don't know how it work here, so I wait on the side, until they call my name or should I go sit down, I wasn't sure. We lost power at 4:30 on Friday and by Sunday were informed it wouldn't be restored until midnight Sunday night so we needed a place to go for awhile. Enter City Egg! Our breakfast was excellent but what stood out was the manager's attitude. He was empathetic to our situation, took great care of us and told us to stay as long as we wanted and charge our phones and laptops. We came to City Egg on a Sunday morning and there was plenty of room to sit. It's a kiosk order system, so we placed our order on the little ipad and took a seat. They have a seperate area where the drinks and food come out. They call your name when your drinks and food come out and you walk up to the counter and grab it yourself. The food came out quick and was hot. We got the Wisconsin scrambler and the create your own skillet. The food was really good, but the portion size on the Wisconsin scrambler seemed lackluster for the price. There's better breakfast places in the area, but it's still good for the staples. read more

First time I've ever been to this restaurant. It was 1:30pm (ish), but the parking lot was empty. That should've been a red flag. The hostess was very nice. I ordered a biscuit with an egg, cheese and turkey sausage. I was very hungry. I did not hear my name called, so another customer let me know that my food was on the counter. The biscuit was burned, tasted burnt and was very dry. The sausage was overcooked. There was very little cheese. The egg was cooked as if requested. The coffee was horrible. I'll admit the ordering setup is a bit strange. When you enter you are met with kiosks to order, which strangely dubbed me as "V" when asked for my name without a way to change it out. The options were also interesting as the seasonal beverages are only available hot so I had to search around a bit for an iced Caramel coffee which was quite a deal. The drink and food come out separate windows which was also unexpected. The silky cinnamon roll stack of pancakes was exceptionally filling. The friendly staff seem a bit rebellious against the mostly automated format of the restaurant and we're constantly looking for ways to interact with customers and spruce up the dining room area. I went to City Egg just before 9am today and there was hardly anyone there, which made ordering a breeze. Upon entering, I immediately noticed that everything was very clean. There are paper menus on the wall, a large menu hanging from the ceiling, and a menu in the ordering kiosk, so it was very straightforward. I ordered the breakfast quinoa bowl with egg whites and no feta cheese. It didn't take long to receive my order; however, I was saddened at how little food the dish contained. The ingredients all tasted great and mixed well together - I just wasn't full by the end of it. What bothered me the most was the attitude of an employee. Someone in my group thought he ordered orange juice, so he asked an employee about it. Without stopping to help, she very rudely said "Just order another one" while walking away. I actually quite liked this place based on my first visit. I liked that you walk in and place your own order on some iPads so you can take your time and review the options. They had a good number of breakfast options and also some lunch ones. I was easily able to substitute out the pork sausage for turkey sausage on a breakfast sandwich. After ordering you take a seat and wait for your name to be called. The place was actually pretty slow that Tuesday morning but that was perfect because I had planned to work on my laptop. They have free wifi which worked great. I was able to sit and work for about 2 hours easily. Much quieter than working at a Coffee shop. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good, could have used a little more salt and pepper on the egg. The iced latte was good too, comparable to other coffee shops. I would deff come back here again. It's fine? I ordered pick up via their website, which worked well, but there was very little indication of where to pick up online orders if you aren't a DoorDash driver. Luckily one of the servers caught me looking confused and was able to give me my food. The food itself was good; the eggs were cooked perfectly and while I'm usually not a huge fan of pancakes, these were fluffy and pretty good. It seems like they have food ready pretty quickly even during a Sunday brunch rush, so keep that in mind if you're more than maybe a five minute drive away. On the other hand, I was not a fan of the restaurant atmosphere at all. They have order kiosks, not cashiers, so the ordering area feels like checking in at an airport terminal, which is not how I want my brunch to start. They do have some outside seating, but it's in a parking lot by a busy road. I tried City Egg this past Thursday morning with some friends while staying in the area. It's a cool concept, walk in and order from a kiosk with a tablet computer. You then wait until your name comes up on the screen to pick up your order. This doesn't seem very inviting as you're missing the human touch but the staff making drinks and food were very friendly so it made up. The food was good. I had the Awesome Avocado omelette with fruit cup and toast. I wouldn't say I was blown away as it was fairly basic and lacking seasoning but not bad. This is my first visit here! They have a nice patio setup outside, but I'm choosing to sit inside. I don't like sharing my food with the outside. The outside and inside is very clean. This is a self-serve type restaurant, meaning, they have kiosk set up to place your order, no worries they have an attendant there to assist with any questions and adjustments to your order. The food was really good and it came out pretty fast. You have to go up to the counter to get it, but your name is on a screen when it is ready. This was a very interesting place. When you walk in there are 3 kiosks to order from. Since the place is so new there was a lot of confusion from people who don't know how to use the machines. I paid cash and there was only one register so I did have to wait a bit on that. You put your name in the kiosk and a screen comes up with your name at the drink station and the kitchen indicating when your order is ready. That part wasn't confusing at all, and works great. I ordered the moose and my fiancé ordered the city scrambler. You have your choice of sides and I got fruit, it was all fresh and tasty. I was told the green one had the least sugar and calories. It tastes like apple juice. My only recommendation would be to toast the bread a little longer because my avocado "toast" seemed to just be bread. Also, don't expect actual avocado slices. It was more like guacamole. Surprisingly very good! I would probably lean more toward 3.5 stars but only because it's a fast-casual type restaurant. You order at a kiosk type ordering station but there was an employee to walk you through everything. I ordered a southwest omelet and crispy hash browns and fruit. So we gave this place another shot this morning and I'm truly disappointed that we did. I ordered the avocado sriracha toast and my friend a handheld sandwich with turkey sausage.
