My friend told me about stopping by here years ago so I finally decided to come with a friend on a Sunday late morning. You put your name down on the clipboard and they'll let you know when a table is ready. People come in and out and don't linger so we didn't wait long even though they were pretty busy. Staff was nice. Friendly and quick. Helpful with recs from the menu too. The menu is enormous! So many things to choose from that we honestly didn't know what to order. Kind of overwhelming but at least they have enough options for everyone. I tried the fried chicken Benny while my friend got some kind of dish that came with toast, eggs, and grilled veg. The food was decent. It's diner quality so it does the job. Hot, filling, and reasonably priced. I also tried the pistachio rose latte while my friend got a shot of espresso. Not really the thing to order here. Probably will stick with black coffee next time. They take cash, card, and Apple Pay (only at the counter). Parking is chaotic. I grew up close to Grand Day Cafe and hadn't been in years. I met some friends there on a Sunday morning. It was PACKED, like most breakfast places are. We sat outside which was fine for a second until the sun was blazing down. The benches are nailed into the ground so we couldn't scoot them back or move which stunk. The food was good, classic diner breakfast. Their menu is large, with many different types of entrees you cannot find anywhere else. The service isn't the speediness, but they are friendly. I was impressed though it did seem a little slow I am guessing as it was a very busy Sunday breakfast/brunch. I will say that you have to sign in upon arrival if they are busy, don't miss out as I feel it's not clearly marked if you don't know what to do or what you are looking at. Enjoyed our brunch at grand Day. I had the meaty omelette which was packed full of meat. It came with several sides that I don't usually eat, but I did try the hashbrowns. They were very tasty. Came back to Ohio to visit friends and my best friend took me here for brunch. I ordered the country fried steak with eggs and hash alongside white toast (one of my favorite breakfast foods) and it was delicious! Our server was very attentive and made sure to check on us regularly. The restaurant is quite intimate but definitely gets packed quick during brunch time! We came for brunch around 11 and waited about 15 minutes to be seated. I didn't get to try their bubble teas but they all looked really good. Lots of seating with counter, indoor, and outdoor options. Parking, as it was a weekend morning was ample-might be trickier on weekdays. We were greeted by friendly staff and a massive menu. The menu was augmented by specials shown on a large screen TV or via QR code. So many delicious options! Boring traditionalist that I am, I opted for eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast. The others went for more exotic fare, and it took awhile to decide for them, as the menu is so vast! Coffee always refilled promptly. Ice water, too. I HAVE FOUND MY FAVORITE DINER IN COLUMBUS AND IT IS GRAND DAY CAFE. I took my friends and family here now two times and every time we walk out of there with smiles on our faces and full bellies. You truly cannot get a tastier filling breakfast for a better price anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and provides excellent service. The restaurant is a little smaller but it's cozy and super clean and cute. Our favorite is the country fried steak. It is cooked to perfection, comes with eggs and toast and oh my lanta is it delicious. To me it beats Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans. We also loved the pancakes and breakfast burrito. This a cute little diner in Grandview. The service is great. It was just me dining and usually the server is MIA after I get my food. Happened upon Grand Day Cafe on a Thursday, late morning. The restaurant is clean, bright and nicely decorated. While a full dining area the acoustics were perfect for a quiet conversation. The host and server were cheerful and pleasant and very attentive, checking in often. I ordered the Chicken Salad Melt on sourdough, which was grilled to perfection. The chicken salad had great flavor and just the right mix of ingredients. I got chips instead of fries and the presentation was inviting and even included a spig of parsley. Coffee was good and my cup stayed full the entire time. Check out their specials of the day board across from the checkout counter. First time at the Grand Day Cafe! While on my Staycation, I decided to try someplace new for breakfast. This small little diner didn't disappoint. This spot was busy and clean. First off the service was excellent! They were attentive but not too much. The coffee was always full and any requests were quickly taken care of. I honestly haven't had service this attentive in a long time. I ordered the Farmers Breakfast and it was delicious. This is a breakfast and lunch only place. While I haven't eaten lunch here, I can report that breakfast was absolutely top notch. My wife had the mini quiches, a bowl of fruit, and coffee, all three of which she gives two thumbs up to. My son's mango smoothie was the best we've ever tasted. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict. Our server was really on top of it; I never had to ask for refills. Their breakfast burritos are killer and very filling. This little brunch spot is located in a somewhat run down strip mall off of 5th and Northwestern. But don't let the looks deceive you as the food is pretty good. I went for breakfast around 9 am on a Sunday and our party of 3 was seated right away. I looked at the menu ahead of time, and chose this restaurant in particular because of the wide variety. They have QR codes on each table to scan for the menu, but there is still just something I miss about being able to flip through an actual menu. Especially at diner type restaurants that often include lots of pictures. Oh well, not a deal breaker. The service was quick, and we were brought waters right away. I also got a black coffee but thought it was below average and tasted a bit burnt (which sometimes happens in the glass coffee pots that have been overheated). I ended up settling on the breakfast bowl, which has a hashbrown base with spinach and quinoa, topped with two eggs, peppers, tomatos and onions, cheese, and avocado. Protein choices include chorizo, turkey sausage or more vegetables. I chose the turkey sausage and was glad I did. The bowl itself was really good but the only thing that could have made it better is some sort of crema or other sauce to top it off. I ended up using ketchup and it did the job. My friends got a side of pancakes with their order, and they looked fluffy and delicious. Overall, Grand Day Cafe was exactly what we were expecting. read more

The first time I ordered here was on a whim from Grubhub. The crabcake benedict (unfortunately not currently available) was too tempting to resist. Not to any fault of the restaurant or the driver, but due to an event near my apartment, I received my food very late. I only mention this because, despite being delivered a fairly long time after it was made, the crabcake benedict and home fries were SO incredibly delicious. I knew from that order that I just had to try in person and it would be even better served fresh. Our first visit was this week, and we can't wait to go back. The interior is clean and charming, like a Bob Evan's but cozier and with less of a chain feel. There's some lovely outdoor seating as well. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we entered, and our server was such a doll. I didn't catch her name, but the young waitress with curly hair is so sweet and helpful. There was plenty of booth and chair seating and at least 2 available high chairs. All the food we tried was delicious and perfectly portioned, in my opinion. Grand Day Cafe has some wonderful comfort food yet unique options, such as the various egg benedict combinations, the breakfast shish kebab, and other rotating menu items. Kentucky Hot Brown - The perfect texture with delicious thick turkey and Texas toast. I wish it came with a bit more Hollandaise sauce, but I'm sure I can ask for more next time. Tastes perfect with the Frank's Red Hot available on the table. Highly, highly recommend. Breakfast Lasagna - Not our favorite, but still very good. Very filling and hearty with layered textures. Their gravy is delicious, comparable to Tutor's but less peppery. Strawberry Plaintain Crepe - Delicious!! The plantain inside is a little thin for the size of the crepe, but it is delicious regardless. Great for a light breakfast or perhaps a shared dessert, depending on how full you are. Pistachio Rose Cappuccino - I am not a huge coffee person, but I absolutely loved this. After my first sip, I said to my partner, "This is perfect." The sweetness and flavor intensity were just right without being too strong in any direction. The pistachio and rose bits gave it a pleasant little crunch and complimented the texture well. I haven't had coffee this good in a long time. From our first in-person visit, Grand Day Cafe seems like a great spot for a date, a family breakfast, friend meet-up, or even a solo cafe study outside. The default weekend breakfast place for me. Wait times in Columbus for breakfast are outrageous at times, but Grand Day Cafe consistently has fast service no matter how full they are. That makes in and out quick and wait times short. Now food. I've had a lot of things on this menu and definitely have some favorites, but I'll just go with what I had today: NY strip and eggs breakfast. Now guys this ain't USDA Prime steak. And if you're expecting that for a $16 meal, you're asking too much. However, I did enjoy it and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Eggs over medium, nothing crazy here, just some eggs. Hash browns Grand Day style (ham, cheese, onions and peppers), with a little ketchup they were perfect. Coffee is pretty good too. There are plenty of places for upscale (and more expensive) options in Columbus. This isn't one of them, but in no way is it a bad thing. For what you pay and the fast service, it's pretty damn good. I always forget about this place, but really do love it! it's tucked into a little shopping plaza at the corner of 5th and Northwest, so there is decent parking. The food here is always hot and fast. They have a good sized menu, with some fun twists - a variety of Benedicts, interesting toppings, etc. Some of my favorites are the Guacamole Burger (turkey burger option) and the scrambled eggs with feta and grilled veggies. So good! I love the egg option for a non-sweet breakfast that is not the same old greek omelet that you get anywhere. This last visit, I had a spinach benedict, which was very nice, and an apple cinnamon pancake, which had big chunks of real apple in it, so was awesome!
