My uncle introduced us to a First Watch on a trip to Colorado last year. We don't have First Watch near us in Buffalo so we keep an eye open for them on trips. This stop didn't disappoint. The rustic farmhouse feel is so authentic. The locations and bright and welcoming.... And then there is the food... We started with the blueberry lemon cornbread to share. It's a First Watch staple, and the butter takes it to the next level. I had the new barbacoa breakfast tacos... and they came with a side of black beans. They were delicious. The perfect amount of filling, fresh avocado on top. Such a filling and healthy start to the day. My husband had the Floridian French Toast. So much fruit on top he couldn't even finish it all. We will definitely be watching for a First Watch on our next adventure. Also to note, there was a large line to get in when we got there, but everyone was seated quickly. I have reviewed many many First Watch locations. The one thing I can say is wow are they consistent! The food is great, the service is friendly and you know what to expect when you walk in during a busy breakfast time. I always find that if the service is great, so is the vibe. It was a busy day when we went in but we were still taken care of efficiently and not forgotten which has happened in other food establishments. I highly recommend their seasonal offerings (pumpkin in this case). The donut holes were so great and my friend writes in to First Watch every year asking if they can please extend their pumpkin pancake offering through November ;) It was great catching up with my bestie here, in her neck of the woods. I wonder what other locations I'll make it to in the future :D read more

My idea of breakfast is a breakfast bar on the way out the door or talking to a speaker at a drive thru. I have been cured of that now. Friendly greeting at the door, shown to seats at the counter, more friendly faces, fast drink order then time to peruse the menu. Didn't take me long. Saw the chicken hash and stopped. Cojita cheese was the clincher. And it was delicious too. Place was a little loud but it was packed so lots of fun conversations taking place. No more hurried breakfasts! read more

I love First Watch. I feel I need to preface this review by simply stating this. I enjoy the upscale diner experience I feel it offers and the idea that this is a brunch/breakfast/lunch restaurant. The servers are always quick to greet the table with coffee, which I love and offer suggestions based on taste. This morning I chose to try the lemon blueberry cornbread, biscuits with turkey sausage gravy and butter grits. The gravy and biscuits were great, I didn't feel the need to add any spices and the biscuits were beautifully fluffy. The grits were good, I'm a grits snob BTW. They were swimming in butter which I did not like at all. There was no need for that. They should be good enough to stand on their own without being overpowered by the taste of butter. The lemon blueberry cornbread was good but I couldn't find any hint of lemon in it whatsoever. The cornbread was sweet, but again there is a huge ice cream scoop of butter on top, not necessary at all. Overall it was a great breakfast with a lot of tasty notes. I will order the grits again BUT I will order them without the added butter next time. I will NOT order the cornbread again, it just didn't hit. The gravy and biscuits will be on rotation for me. The place was obviously packed on a Saturday at 10a. You can call ahead and get your name on the list which is likely your best bet if you don't want to wait for 30 minutes to be seated. Lots of parking but I had to park over at the Lowe's across the street due to everybody and their mothers out getting brunch. No big deal. It's well worth it once you're being dined! read more

Our server was nice enough I guess, but we felt rushed despite his saying "no rush" when bringing the bill (hate that) and the restaurant not being busy. The urgency felt meh. First Watch: What's up with the half-cup coffee pours? We are big coffee drinkers. We said it more than once and had to keep asking for more. Don't make it weird. Just keep eyes on your table and check in or ask if there's anything we need before having us wave you down for more coffee. That tiny carafe isn't bottomless and 3 people ordered coffee. No, it's not a dealbreaker, but it just felt weird how much conversation we had to have about it. Not sure I will go out of my way to come to this location. I came with two guests on a Thursday around 10 am. It was very crowded but not filled to capacity. I had less than a 5 minute wait. Weekends are really crowded, I suggest checking-in online to avoid a long wait. After being seated I ordered two regular coffees ($3.79) and one Watermelon Wakeup ($5.49). You could taste the watermelon. My food order was the Steelcut Oatmeal ($8.99) (900-1130 CAL).It came with fresh berries, sliced banana, pecans, low fat milk, brown sugar and a freshly baked blueberry muffin. I mean freshly baked and delicious. My guests had the Lemon Ricotta pancakes ($11.99) and the Avocado Toast ($12.49). Both the food and service was great. There is outdoor seating with ample parking. Decided to try out the purple haze (cause it's pretty). It's definitely nice to look at but I still prefer the kale tonic in terms of taste. Purple haze is more on the sour side and tastes like lemonade. The smoked salmon Benedict is the only savory dish I always order. The poached egg and hollandaise sauce balance out the saltiness in smoked salmon and paired perfectly with the toast. Would definitely recommend this! read more

I got the farmhouse hash with scrambled eggs, and truly enjoyed it; one of the best things I've ever eaten! The homemade jam that came with the bread was fantastic! The fruit was OK, but the star of the dish was definitely the main course! We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11am, and had to wait about 30-45 minutes to get seated, which was a bummer, but it was OK because we got to catch up! The waiting area is small, so we had to stand outside. Not ideal for mid-January in Ohio, but we both had warm coats. All the staff and servers were so kind and friendly! The bathrooms are clean and very nicely stocked and decorated. My bill, with tip, only water, only this main dish, was about $17-$18. Would recommend! read more

Came here for brunch on a Saturday when we were in the area. Now I feel like we've really been missing out all this time! Definitely the best breakfast/brunch we've had since moving here. My hubby ordered the brisket hash with toast (instead of tortillas), and I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes with fresh strawberries and lemon curd. The brisket hash was amazing. So many flavors that complemented each other. My pancakes were nice and fluffy and the strawberries and lemon curd added a nice bright flavor to them. There's no need to add butter or syrup. The service and ambience was great. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes! Something to take note of is that they have nutritional information for everything on their website. For those on a sodium restriction (like myself), take a look at the menu beforehand and make note of the dishes that have less sodium. A lot of the food on their menu has over 3000 mg of sodium. The menu was interesting and diverse. The coffee was very good, which is always a plus. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked very appealing. One of our group would have liked more bacon on his BLT, but my breakfast sandwich was delicious and, hallelujah, the egg was soft and perfect. What is really impressive is the staffing.
