Mediocrity at all levels of dining is rampant today. We found a beautiful exception to that scourge at the Pearl in Dublin, Ohio. We love to have drinks and dinner at the bar ever since we met Patrick, Kyle, and Lindsay. We love the atmosphere and the food is the best part. The magic of seeing the cocktails being prepared is part of the fun. Never a dull moment. I have eaten at The Pearl before in downtown Columbus. This was my first visit to the Dublin location. I walked in since this was close to where I was staying in Dublin. It was pretty busy but I was seated very quickly by the host. It took awhile before my server came to the table and eventually I got water and I was then able to order a cocktail that was done right. The vibe here is pretty cool and not overly loud but definitely not quiet. I started with 1/2 a dozen oysters and 3 of them pretty much tasted bad. The other three were ok. Half from Nova Scotia and half from Massachusetts. I will not be getting oysters here again. For my entree I hit the hammer steak and it was very good and prepared to my request. My biggest regret is Cameron Mitchell restaurants seafood is usually out of the park good. Not so much this visit. read more

My family and I had an absolutely fantastic time here. This was all of our first times coming here and it did not disappoint. The moment you walk in the place just exudes class and it's very clean. The Host and our server were very friendly and attentive, they broke the menu down for us very nicely since we haven't been. The food was phenomenal, the clam chowder was the one of the best I have ever had in my life. I had fish and chips, the fish was Lake Erie perch which I am a big fan of and it was fried perfectly and the coleslaw was amazing, I am very particular about my coleslaw and they knocked it out of the park. Then my mother and I split a cinnamon role and my mother said, "That has to be sinful because nothing can be that good." So if you haven't been to pearl yet, you must stop by! read more

The Pearl never disappoints! It was a seafood themed visit for me this time. The Harbor salad is one of my all time faves. Great portion of seafood and lovely light vinaigrette. The scallops main were cooked perfectly and love a cup of clam chowder as a bookmark. Such a lovely and bright spot in Dublin and service was great, as always. Visited this restaurant with a dear friend who highly recommended it. She was spot on. Everything was delicious and fantastic. My friend ordered the Harbor salad and said it was delicious. I ordered the Arctic Char which was just what I wanted and imagined. Pureed cauliflower with a balsamic glaze that was amazing. We could hardly finish our meals, but we did. We didn't have room for dessert, but it was likely due to the three appetizers that we couldn't resist. There, I admitted it, THREE appetizers. Devils on Horseback, Spoon Bread and Parmesan Baked Clams. Each got better with every bite. PLUS entrees and drinks? We nailed it! Even better? Our server, Chelsea H., was so attentive and quickly refilled our water glasses which I appreciate more than I can explain. Needed to keep hydrated!!! Thank you, Chelsea! Use to love The Pearl for amazing seafood and great happy hour. The last few times I've gone for dinner it has been mediocre at best. The scallop dish I got last night was the final straw, will not be returning to this restaurant unless forced by a group celebration. Scallops tasted flat and lacked flavor, old, fishy, like they've been sitting out. The entire time I ate them, was debating in my head if should. Was worried about food poisoning. Fortunately did not get sick. Server recommended them which should have been my first clue, don't they want to push food that is going bad. My family and I dined at The Pearl Dublin on December 23rd to celebrate my cousin's birthday while she was visiting from Montreal. While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined. read more

I must say that this has to be the best brunch in the city, I have eaten at a few places and I have to be honest with myself. They do an awesome job. The service was 10/10. The Pearl never disappoints! Consistently great service and food. The handmade tater tots and fried pickles are must-have starters. If you told me that the tots were handed down from the heavens above, I'd believe you. The crispy, airy breading on the fried pickles defies all logic- never have I ever encountered a more beautiful fried pickle. You really can't go wrong here with the entrees. Whatever you choose, I recommend throwing some oysters on the half shell and a few of the "N'Awlins style" baked oysters in the mix, too. Maybe a shellfish tower if you're feeling fancy and in the mood for a smorgasbord of all things oceanic. Service is always friendly, attentive, and efficient. They really go the extra mile! I usually eat at the Short North location, but recently had a lovely experience at the Dublin location with Julia as our server. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a special night! Also, we were running pretty late for our reservation (and very stressed out about it). When I called the restaurant to inform them, Ryan was super kind and understanding. He said it was all good and that we wouldn't lose our reservation, which reduced our stress levels immensely. A table was ready for us as soon as we arrived. Like all Cameron Mitchell restaurants, this place has a stellar happy hour. The food is consistently spectacular, the service is always stellar, and even the bathrooms are spotless and lovely (odd thing to mention, but true!). I always order the Hanger Steak, and tonight was no exception. However, after enjoying a few martinis, some apps, and oysters, I decided to get it to go -- big mistake! Stopped in for a Friday group happy hour and had a fantastic time. Located in the heart of Dublin/Bridge Park with plenty of easy parking and other restaurants and bars to pop over to. The restaurant itself is upscale without being too fancy so you can come after work or after a day of running errands. Our waitress was accommodating and quick - she did a great job on a busy night with a large group. I ordered the margarita which was refreshing. We also split several appetizers- the chicken wings confit (sauce on the side which was nice to have different sauces and spice levels), devils on horseback (dates wrapped in bacon), tater tots (large and so so good), corn bread (moist with a crispy top), baked oysters and French fries. Disgusting and unacceptable experience at The Pearl. After my family and I paid over a $1,000 bill with a generous tip, the General Manager, Nick Krafft, aggressively accused my sister and cousin of smoking marijuana in the bathroom--with absolutely zero proof. The timing felt calculated, as they conveniently waited until our bill was paid before confronting us. When we asked them to check the cameras and provide evidence, they refused and instead doubled down, claiming they could "smell it on us," despite the fact that none of us smoke. Our table--full of people of color--was clearly targeted for no legitimate reason. This was humiliating, offensive, and completely out of line, especially for a restaurant we've loyally supported for years. We expect accountability and a sincere apology from ownership. Until then, we will never return. read more

Came here on Sunday evening for our anniversary dinner. Since the weather was nice we decided to take advantage of the great patio. We had a lovely view of the bridge at bridge park which we enjoyed. Our server greeted us promptly and was very personable We started with the seafood tower, which made it easy to try a variety of their seafood starters. It came with oysters, shrimp, lump crab meat, and a lobster tail. It was delicious! For our entrees we both got the strip steak medium rare with broccoli. I got the horseradish mash and my partner get the fully loaded baked potato. The steak we cooked perfectly and absolutely amazing! Our only feedback would be the portion of both potatoes were pretty small. Since it was our anniversary they were kind enough to send us home with dessert. A side of butter might be nice next time. My husband ordered the Eggs Benny w sausage gravy for $17. When I said "Would you order it again?" He said "I'd prefer an omelet but they don't offer one." Everyone had something different and everything was delicious. The Dublin location is located next to the river with a side and back patio to enjoy warmer days. We stopped in for brunch, with all of us being extremely happy with our orders. I had the shrimp and grits which was incredible. The creamy grits paired with large, fresh shrimp and kielbasa sausage were covered in a bright tomato-based broth. The chicken and waffles had piping hot fried chicken and a perfectly fluffy waffle with a peach compote and syrup. The huevos rancheros came with a side of tortillas and provided that tex mex flavor we were looking for. The eggs Benny was more of a crossover between eggs benedict and biscuits and gravy than and true benedict, but was delicious and not too heavy nonetheless. The Pearl had lots of options for brunch, with classics like eggs Benedict, omelettes, and chicken with waffles! The chicken had super crispy breading on the outside and tender white meat inside. The waffle was in the softer side so it was easy to cut and I really liked dipping it in the peach compote with lots of small chunks of peach! The Ohio sourced honey was really good to dip the chicken in as well. They also have other lunch options like the grilled cheese, which comes with a side salad, or you could substitute the salad with fries! The fries were super crispy and thick. I had heard great things about the Pearl for years but never managed to visit. That changed on a Thursday afternoon for a 3 person happy hour. Service was excellent, our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Food and drinks came pretty quickly after ordering. I ordered The Cure cocktail - a lovely fruity cocktail with peach, orange, passion fruit, and mint. Others ordered the Mojito and the Sun Will Come Out Amaro. For food we ordered 4 things from the snacks and starters. First were the tater tots (loved them!!!) and smoked whitefish spread which I thought was okay (personal taste). Then we ordered the devils on horseback (a first for me but pretty good) and the garlic shrimp (my favorite dish all night - so good!). I definitely want to come back for brunch someday. read more

By far the best Happy Hour around! Get there when they open at 4:00 so you can get a seat at the bar. Starters, wine and beer are all 1/2 off until 6:00. Everything (I've tried it all) is excellent.
