Continues to deteriorate. When we came here in 2007-2010 the menu was spot on, food was always good, hot and service was fantastic. Since they opened the Worthington location it's like he has forgotten about this location. The menu is subpar, the food is even worse and service leaves a lot to be desired. We watched the staff ask a customer to move tables so they could accommodate a large group, which he did willingly, but when he got to the other table, the little light wasn't working, and he was obviously working on some paperwork and a map, and the waiter didn't even offer to get a light that worked.So I gave him ours. Then and only then did the waiter get the hint. Salad came and the level of dressing was basically non existent. We ordered lettuce wraps, crab rangoon, spring rolls, and 14oz strip. I sound like complain, complain complain.But it really was not that good. The spring rolls were great. Crab rangoon had to be sent back because I believe the crab was bad. The lettuce wraps were so dry and tasteless it's almost unbelievable. I'm gonna take it home and add some spice to it and eat it later. I don't know what kind of rub you're putting on the steak, but it made it so sweet that it was almost inedible. The potatoes that came with the steak have really great flavor but they're old so they're really dry inside. And unfortunately, the level of weight staff here isnt what it used to be. Am I expecting better?Absolutely?This is Jason's for goodness sakes, and it's just not as good as it used to be. We tried it a few times over the past six years.And this will probably be our last time. The first time I went to J Liu I wasn't very impressed. I came back a couple of times and I will say they have definitely improved in terms of the food. Service has always been great and I appreciate the parking lot they have, but there's plenty of free parking options all around. It's interesting considering they have Asian food to American to Italian. I've only ever tried the Asian and it's not bad. It's overpriced in my opinion, but the atmosphere is nice. I've eaten here a few times now and it's always great service for my carry out. I ordered the fried rice lunch portion. It came with 3 protein choices. I got double shrimp and chicken. Their happy hour is amazing! Great drink specials and so much yummy food. We ordered almost one of everything but our favorite was the avocado and the dumplings. Decided to try for my husbands and I anniversary. The restaurant was empty on a Saturday night but we did have an early reservation right around the time the restaurant opened. The staff were nice and friendly. The lighting in the restaurant was dim, but nice. Staff dressed up for Halloween and music played in the background. Now on to the food... The dumplings were great! We ordered two orders. We had the dragon roll, the shrimp could have been crunchier , husband wasn't a fan of how chewy the texture was. Still good. The Mongolian beef and white rice were seasoned good, nice size portion. You can choose from white rice or fried rice. Can't go wrong with cheesecake! Everything was great! Last Sunday we tried something new. (My husband went there around Christmas time with coworkers.) Very good. Cute place, very small and quaint with a relaxing feel. We ordered the Brussel sprouts for an appetizer and Omgoodness were they so good!! Amazing!! My husband had the hot and sour soup but I didn't try it. He said it was good. What a great little restaurant in downtown Dublin, Ohio. The building has lots of charm and is a cozy, quite restaurant. I love the Mongolian Beef at this place. This dish comes with tenderloin, scallions, onion and crispy rice noodles with a delicious spicy brown sauce. I also recommend getting the fried rice with this. It's a small up charge for the fried rice, but worth every penny. There is limited parking around the restaurant but there is a big parking lot located just behind the restaurant. My pad Thai is "extra vegetables". There are hardly any veggies as all and they're all massively overcooked and mushy. Everything we ordered lacked freshness but had really good flavors. This is a GREAT location, gorgeous patio, and I love having an ethnic food option in Dublin (even though they still have all the Dublin classics on the menu too god forbid the people of Dublin skip chicken parm on a night out). I think another issue is they basically have two menus, Asian and Dublin, I think they need to pick a single menu and go with it. The Asian side is great if they freshen everything up. I went here for dinner with my husband on Friday night. The J Liu in Dublin was booked, so we opted for a reservation here as it was wide open. I ordered a cocktail that had strawberry purée (can't remember the name), it was awful! It tasted like straight liquor. My husband ordered a happy hour lemonade drink and also said his was very strong. That is after the server told him it can only be ordered at the bar?! Ha! We asked if we can have it if we paid full price and sure enough the drink showed up. We had the crab Rangoon which was very very good! We also both ordered a cup of lobster bisque soup which was very good despite not having much of any lobster chunks in it. For our entrees my husband ordered the chicken parm and I ordered their salmon. When I tell you the food was bland! My goodness! I never reach for the salt and pepper but had to. The broccoli was under cooked, the salmon although cooked nice had absolutely no flavor. The coconut rice was alright, one bit had flavor and the next didn't. My husband wasn't impressed with the chicken parm and again it was very bland, he ate his though. Service was ok, maybe it was the fact that we didn't order Asian food here? Today was my first time having food from this restaurant. My husband eats here from time to time with clients. Today, He brought me home a Poké bowl. I ordered the salmon poké thinking it was raw. When my husband brought it home, it was cooked. I don't eat cooked salmon, and my husband was under the impression it was raw because the menu does not denote cooked. I called in asking if they could do any kind of raw fish instead, and they said their tuna is raw. They agreed to make me a new bowl with tuna, which I really did not expect, but was so nice of them! I've been coming here regularly since it opened as Jason's bac. We have always loved the food, service and atmosphere. One of my favorite dishes of any restaurant in Columbus is their spicy chicken, an excellent take on the traditional general tso's chicken. I almost forgot about this place. Tucked away in the trendy Bridge Park area of old Dublin, is one of the OG's in Asian fusion cuisine. Unlike their Worthington restaurant, this location has a more humble facade. A small unassuming building next to the new Fox in the Snow. I've gone to dinner here before and was never really that impressed. It's always been decent, but nothing memorable in atmosphere or food flavor. The menu is also a little bit confusing to me because it offers classic Asian dishes along with confusing things like Chicken Parmesan? There's an obvious identity complex here lol. Anyway, our friends decided to go for a happy hour birthday celebration here, and I have to say I was surprisingly impressed!! I think mainly for the HH value this place brings. And I think the secret's out. The place was packed on this particular Thursday evening. Their happy hour had a great selection for each price point category, especially the food. My favorite was their lettuce wraps. The portion size was large enough for two people. Everything came out fresh and very flavorful too. My second favorite was their brussels sprouts, which had a nut topping that added a lot of texture. The crab rangoon and sushi rolls were good too. Unfortunately, the entrée was the only disappointment. Very underwhelming and bland. The fried rice was just missing that high heat wok fire, & definitely missing alot of seasoning. However, our polite and friendly waiter made up for anything lacking. He was attentive, but not overwhelmingly so. The ambiance was also intimate enough for conversation but also lively enough where our large party didn't need to be hushed. I had been wanting to try this place knowing it was a Dublin staple and I really enjoyed our experience. The restaurant itself is outdated, and if you are seated at one of the free standing tables they are very tightly packed together, but luckily we got a booth. They have an excellent wine menu and we got a great bottle of red. We started with an order of the dynamite roll and I think this may have been the best sushi I've ever had. My fiancé and I split the chicken pad tai and the chicken Parmesan. I personally liked the chicken Parmesan better but both were delicious. They were also severely under staffed but our waitress was excellent and worked her tail off so that we wouldn't be able to tell. I would come back here for sure, especially to try more of that delicious sushi. read more

J Liu is a great place if you're looking for good quality Asian cuisine. It's a nicer restaurant so the menu is a little pricier, but also not overly priced. They offer a wide range of Asian dishes like poke, fish, sushi, and Thai. They also have some Italian pasta dishes on the menu as well. As far as drinks go, they have a good selection of wines, beer, and also a craft cocktail list. I ordered the spicy margarita and they do not hold back on the spice. It was a little too much for my liking. Their sushi and potstickers are very good and make for delicious appetizers that are easy to share with the table. The tuna poke bowl on the entree menu was the highlight for me, it was amazing. The tuna was so fresh and really just made the bowl. I ordered mine with rice but you can also choose to order it with greens. It was served with avocado, mango salsa, edamame, etc. - all which added to the great flavor & texture of this bowl. The service was spectacular, our server was very attentive and made sure we were always taken care of. The owner even checked on us at one point to make sure everything was to our liking. Parking can be a bit of a pain if you're going to the Dublin location as their lot isn't that big and they tend to stay pretty busy. But overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be going back in the future! read more

Just had the Sunday brunch buffet that I think we have all missed since Covid. The food was good...but I think what has always set this buffet aside from all the others is the choice options.....you can get "breakfast" food anywhere.....I'm coming for the Asian dishes.....please bring back the Lo Mein, crab Rangoon, shrimp and grits and omelet station. The chicken fingers and fries I understand are for kids probably but I would set those aside from the buffet. I do like the set up in the bigger room. Price was $55 for 2 people....it would be worth that like I said if you bring back more of the lunch options (lo mein, crab, omelet). However, I just didn't understand why our service was a little slow as there was lots of staff people and our waiter was even training a new person. It has a menu of good cocktails. They also have good small plates for happy hour. I had a Royale martini. It's about $7 at happy hour. This was pretty good tasting. It was strong, as it should be. This went well with the small plate that was on special. I had the hummus appetizer. It's about $5 at happy hour. This came with lots of crispy pita bread, which was a generous portion. Food is good. My wife and I recently moved back to Dublin after about 10 years away. We decided to go back to J Liu for dinner. For the most part it was fine. I ordered a Diet Pepsi and my wife had a water. At the end of the meal I asked for the check. It was then I noticed they had charged me $10.50 for the Diet Pepsi. I asked if there was a mistake and she said no that they charged for each refill (I had two). Also each glass was about 80% ice. I think it is pretty crazy to charge for refills in a town where no one else does! Also, if you are going to charge for refills at least you should let the customer know. Pretty unacceptable in my book, so everyone be aware. PS I bought three 12 packs at Giant Eagle for $12. read more

Upon arrival, we were left standing awkwardly at the entrance as there was no one to greet or guide us to a table. First time there and took my oldest boys for a "nice" dinner on a Saturday night. Lots of people have recommended this place to me and mostly as a good date night place but I figured a Dad and Sons place it was tonight. Ordered potstickers and Shanghai Bacon for starters. Then for entrees we ordered Pad Thai and Braised Short Rib. We also ordered the Chop Chop Salad as a second course before the main entrees arrived. I'd say I'm mixed about this place. Prices are generally reasonable but not all items are worth what I got. So here goes: Shanghai Bacon - five thick bacon strips (not the super thick and enormous slab of bacon I've seen at other CBus restaurants that have a straight up bacon appetizer on the menu; just thick bacon) glazed in a sweet and savory sauce covered with sesame seeds and garnished with a red cabbage slaw. The bacon was good. Not fatty. Somewhat smoky and that complimented the glaze well. Chewy and about half way to jerky texture. Overall, pretty well executed. Slaw was tasteless. Maybe it was just because the bacon was so tasty. Potstickers - you get eight and it was nice they offered to make it both ways in one order (i.e. four steamed and four fried). Also garnished withe the same slaw that accompanied the bacon. Overall taste was okay. The filling was lacking in flavor and generally lacking in quantity. And when I heard fried, I thought pan fried like a potsticker. Nope, the fried ones were deep fried. Complete faux pas in my book. Realize I am a dumpling snob and I have had some really good ones. I make some really good ones and these just didn't measure up. Dipping sauce was good but too salty. Needs vinegar. All that said, I know the concept of this restaurant is Asian fusion as opposed to authentic Asian so I'm sure these are made to many peoples' liking. I wouldn't order it again. Chop Chop salad - iceberg lettuce, shredded cheese, bacon crumbles, tomatoes, sunflower seeds, smoked corn, and scallions tossed in ranch dressing. Overall not bad although the smoked corn kind of overwhelmed the rest of the salad but again, not bad taste wise. Biggest complaint is the price for what you get. $7 for an iceberg based salad I could generally make at a buffet seems odd especially when you double that price, you could get the Pad Thai which was well worth it (more on that later). Pad Thai - we ordered the chicken version and you get a lot. And it's good and tasty! Not authentic Pad Thai flavor-wise but that didn't matter. It's a flavorful dish with very tender and generous portions of chicken, rice stick noodles, and eggs (my favorite components). Garnished with some carrots, bean sprouts and scallions. Yo, this one's a keeper and for the money, one of the best values on the menu (granted I've not ordered that many items; but compared to the salad and the starters, very much so). Braised Short Ribs - this one was pretty solid albeit a little small in terms of the overall quantity of food. That said, the short rib itself was decent sized. Very tender. Full of flavor. The au jus was reduced down to almost a runny glaze and that was pretty fantastic as it stuck to everything you dipped in it. The brussel sprouts were cooked well (although I personally would have preferred them to be pan fried a little crispier) and the celery root puree was smooth as buttah. Actually, it was really smooth like whipped cream but I like saying buttah. Buttah. Service was very prompt and friendly. Nice dining room. Pretty people around you too. Nice ambiance too. So, will I be back? Probably. It's a decent place and I do need to give it another shot and try some more items from the menu. read more
