Thai Donut

Located in German Village, Bendi Wok N' Bar is a great spot if you're in the mood for Asian fusion or Thai! All of their dishes are authentic and taste delicious! Their service is awesome and the atmosphere is cute & initiate which makes it a go to spot for a date or dinner with a small group of friends. You definitely need to add this place to your list to go to if it's not already!

Really not a fan. Ordered take out and wasn't really satisfied. The portion sizes are pretty small for the price and the taste is a little bland. My order also didn't come with a fork in the bag.

Drunken Noodle with shrimp

I was on a business trip and craving Thai food, so I came here after seeing all the great reviews. Honestly, I left pretty disappointed. I started with the summer rolls, which came out super cold--almost like they'd been sitting in the fridge for a while. For my main, I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp. There were only four shrimp in the whole dish, and the flavor was way too sweet. I've had drunken noodles plenty of times before, and they're definitely not supposed to taste like dessert. The one good thing I'll say is the service was great--the server was really friendly and accommodating.

This place is AMAZING!! The decore is very beautiful, brilliant red lanterns hanging from the ceiling, pretty decore on the walls and a good selection of seating choices! The menu had a lot of really good looking dishes and I chose 'Sticky Noodles with Pork' each bite was full of flavor and scrumptious texture. From the flopmy noodles and tender egg to the crispy Garlic and crisp fresh carrot garnish; I thoroughly enjoyed each mouthful! I sat at the bar and the bartender took amazing care of me, checking in often to make sure the meal was what I hopped for and he was an excellent conversationalist! what a treat this place is, I'll definitely be retiring with friends in the future to share in this exquisite dining experience!

No. Skip this one. Bendi wok has been on my list of places to try for a while. I was so disappointed w my experience, specifically the food. The service was good and the wait time to actually get our food was speedy. BUT the food was a miss. The gyoza was the one thing that i did enjoy. However. The steak and peppers dish was so mid. I genuinely counted 6 pieces of steak. Good thing i was not paying the bill bc that was not worth it. All i had on my plate was rice after 6 bites. Then the sticky noodles were so bland... so i had 2 entrees that were a complete miss during my visit... which to me is an indicator that i should not come back. It's a cute restaurant tho so if you're into more of a back drop for a photo instead of the food, this will be your spot.

General Tso's Chicken

Bendi Wok is a great option if you are near the German village area. Occasionally may require a reservation (mainly on weekend evenings as it was pretty busy when we went on a Friday night). I always get the General Tsos and it is so good! The chicken isn't overly breaded and you get more of the meat. Our server recommended the messy fries and they were amazing!! They had Hunter x Hunter playing on the TV when I was there and could not stop staring at the TV haha. The decor is very cute and they have a few booths if you prefer to not sit at a table!

So Crab Rangoon

Food was amazingly tasty and different than most Asian restaurants. I ordered the spring rolls and drunken noodles. My friend ordered Crab Rangoon and it was the best I've ever had. Perfectly fried and filling was plentiful. The spring rolls delicious and Drunken noodles were a bit spicy for me however my husband with enjoy them very much. Our Server was good and very friendly. Atmosphere was very Japanese oriented.

First time back to Bendi Wok in quite awhile! The restaurant was deserted when we showed up for dinner at 5pm, but every table was full when we left after 6:30! Service was slow to start, it was 5 minutes before we even got menus, but another server took over towards the end and checked on us very frequently. They've changed their cocktail menu, I didn't notice low alcohol or higher alcohol drinks like they used to have. They also really don't have any mocktail options that don't have CBD in them. Portion size was better this time around, I really enjoyed my cashew chicken!

Crab Rangoon

First I will say don't expect expedient service. We received our appetizer before even getting our drinks. The crab Rangoon was meh. It wasn't bad it just wasn't something you would come back for at $2.50 per Rangoon. We got the Pad Thai and Singapore noodles, both were good but the chicken in the Singapore was tough. The bathrooms looked like a rehabbed trap house.

Got the singapore noodles and summer rolls. Both were very tastey. The summer rolls had a good amount of shrimp and are served cold, they are not fried and just as delicious, served w a peanut sauce, i like peanuts but if you are allergic you can get a substitite. The singapore noodles were tastey. It is a thai street food trendy style small restuarant. I will be back to try other dishes, my dinner was pleasantly satisfying, like I was full but not lethargic feeling, satisfied and could still hit a walk after. I am sure other street food there is more down n dirty but I enjoyed my meal and added chicken as protein, you can go veggie if that is your thing.

Panang Bang Shrimp

If I could go back I would get the Panang Curry 1000 times over but sadly I choice the Singapore Noodles that was recommended from the staff member. The Singapore noodles tasted like unseasoned thin spaghetti so I was a bit disappointed. The waiter wasn't really enthusiastic to help with suggestions but gave a suggestion that I shouldn't have taken. The crowd pleaser in my opinion was the Panang Curry! So glad my friend let me try it! The crab Rangoon was okay but not my favorite and the Shrimp appetizer was good because it had the same coconut curry sauce as the Panang dish. My husband got the drunken noodles and they were also just okay. The place had a nice vibe and I may go back but only for that curry!

Jen T.

Wish there were more than 5 stars to give! Food is always awesome - the green curry is the best. You cant go wrong with the menu. Staff is always great and service is usually pretty quick. Love the bright decor.

Interior decor. Cute restaurant but very small interior.

This restaurant is just okay. The host seated me and my friend at a window but the table was above a vent. At first it was okay because it was a cold day but then it got really hot. The food is honestly forgettable. The egg rolls tasted like the may have been frozen and just deep fried. They definitely weren't made in the kitchen. My Dan Dan Noodles were underwhelming. I've just had better. My friend ordered the mango sticky rice. I tried it but it reminded me of cream of wheat. Overall I'm okay never going back.

Their visual chart is a…read moregodsend for cocktail explorers, and all of the drinks came out delicious and exactly as described. It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

I'm sure some of them are batched, but they don't taste like they are. Service was excellent, as always. Endlessly knowledgeable. Small place, but never feels crowded even when full.

Pair a stop either before or after to one of German Village's great restaurants and you're in for a special, albeit pricey night. In addition to fantastic drinks, Lawbird offers cocktail tasting classes from time to time which are a fun way to get sauced early in the day. And you will get sauced. If the owners keep up the good thing they have going - this will become an iconic establishment in the city. I hope they do. I've been more than 20 times so far and never get bored. Cheers!

I have a few qualms about their…read morereservation time limit (which, I will admit, are almost entirely based on the fact I want to try MORE of what they're offering), but I readily recommend this place to people as one of the coolest cocktail bars in town. Cocktail vibe is more "laid-back friends talking over creative drinks" than sultry, romantic date spot. Tons of natural light means this cocktail bar has had some of my *favorite* cocktail bar photos I've ever taken. It's so pretty in here. NOTES: -During pop-ups, walk-ins are near-impossible on weekends and not likely on weekdays. Make a reservation if you want to make sure you'll have a spot. -No dedicated parking lot. 3-hour-limit free residential parking all around Law Bird, though. We generally have to walk 2 or 3 blocks from parking to Law Bird. Be aware this is German Village, and you're looking at cobblestone sidewalks for high heel and accessibility purposes. -Law Bird mostly has small party seating. If you have a larger group you want to seat during a pop-up, make SURE to get that reservation in early. They have the single 8-person table. -They have snackies and food. Portion sizes are small (despite what the prices may suggest), though, so this is not generally a place to eat a full meal. All of the food is super flavorful, though, so definitely a great snack to add on. PROS: -Keeping things fresh, they regularly host cute seasonal events, new drinks, and pop-up events. In recent memory, I know they've done a Cherry Blossom one, a Spooky Halloween one, and a Christmas one. -They go ALL OUT for their pop-ups. It isn't just a brand new, professionally-printed menu (no pieces of paper with 4 seasonal drinks here). It's also all of their interior decor, bathroom decorations, bartop decorations, and more. Ceiling decor too! They get all up in there. It's really fun to see the space transformed constantly. -Between the new menus and the constantly-new decorations of their space, I love regularly popping into Law Bird. -I LOVE the creativity of the menus, and I LOVE that they offer cocktail classes. (I haven't taken one yet, but I'm excited to!) The menu has unique drinks, served with unique garnishes. They have a few "sugar cocktails", but for the most part, Law Bird drinks tend to be complex and spirit-forward. -Their "themed" bathrooms (even with their own themed music playlists) make me happy. They have two unisex, single room restrooms. CONS: -If you come during a pop-up with a smaller group, they will enforce their reservation time limit of 1.5 hours. This isn't necessarily the end of the world, but the times when they enforce their limits is when they have more customers waiting - and tend to be when the place is at capacity. When they're at-capacity, the bar staff and service staff is a lot busier, with drink service taking longer and servers checking in a lot less. This means we usually only have had the chance to place 2 drink orders during that 1.5 hour time limit before they ask us to leave. This can be rough (to try most of the drinks on a limited time menu) unless you're sharing drinks with your tablemates. If you still want to continue your evening with your friends after that 1.5 hour limit, Antiques on High, Daily Growler, and Cobra are easily walkable from here. -During their pop-ups on weekends, time between placing a drink order and receiving the drink has usually been around 15 to 20 minutes. Not the end of the world as you get to socialize with friends, but again, with the time limit, that can be a bit rough.

That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.
