The ambiance is beautiful, and it's a great spot for drinks. The food, however, was pretty mediocre. We did the Omakase experience, and it was just okay. For $90 per person, I was surprised they served miso soup that tasted like something you'd get at Benihana. Even more disappointing was the main course: teriyaki chicken. For an Omakase experience at that price point, I expected something much more creative and elevated. Honestly, I've had better teriyaki chicken from Panda Express. When Panda Express is winning the teriyaki chicken battle against a $90 Omakase, we've got a problem! The standout dish was the lobster skewers--they were excellent and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, I'd come back for the cocktails and atmosphere, but not for the food. read more

Great experience at stories on high a few weeks back. Came with a friend from out of town who suggested it. I didn't even realize it was there! No reservation but we were able to get a table on a Thursday. Nice cocktail selection, prices are a bit high but I think a lot of cocktail places in Columbus are a bit steep. Their menu was themed for the furry convention that was going on which was pretty fun and cute. We got some food, which are all pretty small, more like apps and tapas to share. My friend got the confit wings, and I got the lions mane mushrooms. They were delicious, if not just a bit expensive. So the food and drinks I'd say were 4-stars, but the view, ambiance and service were all excellent. Definitely worth checking out and enjoying a fancy night out. read more

Came in on Halloween to check out the view and for a quick drink. We were helped quickly and really enjoyed our drinks! Keep in mind this is a pricier than average bar but considering it's in a hotel and is a rooftop with an awesome view we would still say the value is worth it. Don't skip out on Stories on High. On the first glance, one might think its a simple hotel bar. That would be incredibly wrong. Instead, there is a great ambiance, an excellent view of the city, and a combo indoor/outdoor area that is perfect for all seasons. The staff is incredible, thoughtful, kind, and focused. We may have went more than once and always had a positive experience. The food and drinks were equally good - we tried so many things and the hands-down favorite were the sliders. They aren't huge, so if you're hungry these will only be a snack, but I promise, it's a great snack. Can't wait to go back! read more

Oh what a delightful night we had. First time last night and we were very very impressed. The ambiance was unbelievable. It's set on 28th floor. The unbelievable view was breathtaking. We sat close to the window. When you make reservations they asked for credit card which is fine. We got $20 discount in valet parking. Paid $10 in downtown. It's at the roof of Hilton. We had wings for appetizers during restaurant week. It's was so crispy. We had 6 wings each. The main entrees were beef Bulgoki and chicken teriyaki with special rice. We both loved our orders. Perfect portions and we added lobster tail sticks since it's part of anniversary menu. Pretty good for $18. Well seasoned and grilled perfectly. Had fortune cookie cheesecake for desserts and nice presentation. Overall this is probably the best resto we've been during RW. If you join next time I told my wife to come 2x or 3x within a week. Yes that good. I will book a little later like 9 pm or so for better ambiance and lighting . I'm sure it's gorgeous plus music starts at 8pm. See you next time. read more

It is beautiful bar if you're looking for a special treat. The views are beautiful at sunset and they have additional patios for different views of the city. We enjoyed their drinks and NA options. We ordered the steak frites and spicy tuna apps. I'd recommend asking for fresh wasabi - makes the flavors really pop. We had a miscommunication with the orders with an onion allergy. They all had chives which my partner wasn't able to eat, but the staff was accommodating and comped it for us. The steak frites was a good tartar, but it's not my preference. It's a bit heavy with the hash brown and over salted for my taste. It could use something acidic to balance. read more

I experienced the most excellent customer service from the front of house to our server. We're staying in the hotel and staff suggested we go up and give Stories a look. We opted for dessert first and then a few appetizers. I ordered the raspberry cheesecake, it came out resembling a fortune cookie which immediately made me smile. It wasn't anything special but was good. The waygu spring rolls were honestly disappointing, the meat was tender but lacked flavor; the honey mustard dipping sauce was delicious. The spinach artichoke wontons tasted like something from the Trader Joe's freezer section but again the dipping sauce was the highlight. I recommend going for the view if you aren't staying in the hotel as the view is top tier. read more

The host was great! Loved her. The food is super duper mid. The bulgogi bowl was not even the traditional thin sliced bulgogi cut of meat and the sauce was sorely lacking! Both in quantity and taste. The drinks are okay, pricy for Ohio I guess but I'm used to it being from Cali (not a flex, more of a shame). The restaurant itself is a beautiful space, very elegant but also an upbeat/chill vibe. Music was pretty cute. The rooftop was really pretty and overall a nice vibe. Only giving 2 stars b/c the food was cold as hell when it came out and it wasn't even good nor was it prepared correctly. Also, the service was kind of shitty. There were hella servers they just never seemed to make it out to the rooftop patio for some reason or another. Stories on High has an amazing ambiance. The low lighting, candle lit table, and panoramic view gives upscale date night. If you want to be seated by the window for a better view, you have to make a reservation, but you'll have to put a card down and will be charged if you don't make it. Service here was solid. Our waitress was very nice and took care of us. She knew when to come check on us and when to leave us be. For the most part, the food here was really good. The scallop crudo was bright and had excellent complimentary flavors. The fried pork belly in the guacamole was really good. I liked how they paired it with crispy wonton chips. The chicken skewers were ok, not super exciting. I also splurged on the Wagyu nigiri with shaved truffle and the salmon nigiri. They did not skimp out on the truffle, but based on the marbling and texture of the beef, I doubt it was Japanese A5 Wagyu. Though, that was not claimed. It only said Wagyu nigiri. Lastly, the salmon tasted a little fishy to me. Luckily, I didn't have any issues after. Overall, the vibes were great. I'd come back for the views, drinks, and small plates, but maybe not the sushi. read more

I'm happy to update my review for Stories on High. After my first not so great visit, the general manager reached out and asked if we would be willing to come back and give them another shot. I was a little hesitant but agreed. I'm so glad our second time there was so much better than the first. We decided to sit on the patio and enjoy one of the last few nice nights before it becomes unbearably cold. Our waiter was attentive, we got our drinks and food fairly quick. I decided to stay away from the chicken this time and instead got the spring rolls, wagyu skewers, duck skewers, and artichoke wantons. My favorite was the wantons, followed by the spring rolls and skewers. All in all I'm glad we went back and the experience this time was great. read more

You can't beat the sunset views from Stories on High! Reserve a high top by the bar, you'll have unobstructed views. The patio is going to be beautiful in the summer, but the indoor area is spacious. If you're not staying at the hotel, there's still plenty of nearby garages to park at. The menu is Japanese fusion style tapas, I couldn't recommend the wagyu sliders more! Portion sizes are small, but it's ideal for ordering multiple plates. For my birthday celebration I was craving a city vibe with a good view and thought this was a great option for that! It's also mostly indoors so not too cold at night while there is also an outdoor area if you want to enjoy the breeze as well. Their complementary valet service was nice since finding parking is not the easiest downtown. It's located in the Hilton hotel but you need to go downstairs to the restaurant area in order to get to the elevators that lead you to the lounge bar on the top floor. Their cocktails are pricey but pretty good. There's a variety of selections and they had some really interesting drinks like the Rainmaker, which had whiskey with lotus root foam, and Cat Power, which was sweet and fruity, and came with a fuzzy cat headband! We also enjoyed food like the corn ribs, which were small handheld elotes, the wagyu beef tartare, and the spicy tuna on top of crispy rice and kimchi masago mayo. The portions are small, more like tapas, so it definitely is more of a place for drinks than food. For my birthday they gave a choice for complementary dessert or drink so I picked the cheesecake. It was super fun to crack open the fortune cookie shell and definitely enjoyed the creamy and slightly fluffy cheesecake inside. Our server was really nice and made sure we had everything we needed. It does get a little loud around the bar at times but still would be a great place to stop by for drinks on a fun night out! read more

This was one of my favorite rooftop experiences in Columbus! The view of Columbus has been completely outmatched by the other rooftops throughout the city. The staff were very friendly & attentive! The sliders were probably my favorite! They were the most flavorful, cooked perfectly & the bread was even warm when it came out! I was not the biggest fan of the fry like potatoes that came out with the steak frites, but, the steak was very good. I would absolutely come back for the steak & the sliders! OK, wow! I went to Stories during their first week open (not entirely certain how I managed to be that on top of things, but that's another Story). I went over with my Yelp Bestie and we really enjoyed our experience! This visit, we did not try the food menu, but really enjoyed both the atmosphere and the cocktails. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and the products, which was very much appreciated. I had the Cat Power because it contained Midori, which I love, and cat ears, which were photographed and immediately donned. The drink was very good and I enjoyed wearing the cat ears. The glass was oddly shaped, but I think that is to accommodate the aforementioned ears. I also tried an espresso martini, which was smooth and had a great coffee flavor. Fun fact, this is also available as a mocktail for those who would prefer. The space is just so nice! There are floor to ceiling windows around 3 sides, and 2 rooftop patios with additional seating and a firepit. You should definitely make a reservation, and come summer, you'll be able to reserve outdoor tables as well. The views of the city at night are a lot of fun. Note that the prices skew a little high, but I think this is a really nice Night Out restaurant, and I already have reservations for another visit! read more
