This restaurant was sooo good. We loved our waitress, and the restaurant was gorgeous. My coworker and I took this place for a business dinner and we were not disappointed. We ordered the crabcakes, whipped ricotta, bang, bang shrimp, and deviled eggs. On top of drinks and entrées everything was delicious. We will be returning. read more

Astra is a hopping place at the AC Hotel. Nice restaurant and an even better bar with a great outdoor space. I've been here for drinks before but tonight was dinner at the inside bar area. Service is great. Very friendly and attentive. Miriam regularly checked on me for both delivery of my meal as well as any drink needs. The Caesar salad is not traditional as it also had tomatoes. Interesting flavors. For my main course, I got the Steak Frites. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare and properly seasoned. The fries were excellent. Well done. The music is kind of loud as it caters to the bar atmosphere. Lighting is a bit low. It all fits the atmosphere well. Great service, good drinks and food. Lots of great appetizer choices too. read more

3.5 star for the service 3 star for the food 5 star for the vibes and interior design This place is more for wow factors and the vibes, if you are a picky foodie, it might not be a perfect spot. Really in love with its vibes, both indoor dining room with different segments of seatings and outdoor patio tables are amazing. The interior design here is truly unique and artistic. Great for big groups, date night, or even just chilling with friends. Not sure if it's the standard here, but there was never anyone filling our water during the entire dining time after they left 2 bottles of water on the table. Our server is patient and friendly but not on point. They messed up our orders, forgot one order and brought one wrong (we ordered smashed burger but received chicken sandwich). Very surprising that the staff didn't do anything or offer to send in the correct order. The chef of table service for Tomahawk is fun and enjoyable to carry conversations but unfortunately our Tomahawk was overcooked. We loved the presentation for sure though. Their smoked ribs is not "smoked" but boiled and soaked in sauce. The "smoked" part refers to its presentation, but their machine was down, and we were not told, so we basically got the ribs, neither smoked in cooking method nor smoked when it was brought to our table. The donut tree is another one great for eyes and cameras. It comes with little fireworks at the table service. Overall we enjoyed the breeze and atmosphere here. Will come back for relaxation if in town. read more

Celebrated our 21 year anniversary at Astra and it was perfect! From our private booth watching the sunset to the great service and exceptional food, I'll definitely be back. We went on a Tuesday night and it was packed so I highly recommend making a reservation. read more

We went on a Monday night around 9 and had a reservation - the place was packed when we arrived, so reserving in advance seems like a good idea regardless of when you're going. It also guarantees that you'll get a table where you might be able to talk rather than shouting across the loud bar area. The cocktails are fun and seasonal, and the menu has many showstoppers - a table near us had the flaming hanging steak,, which is quite the spectacle. The Mac and cheese is some of the best I've ever had, and cheese seems to be a general specialty - the silver platter cheese fries were also amazing. Make sure to save room for dessert - the flaming donut tree is an experience, and the chocolate cake has a wonderful raspberry cream filling. We will definitely be back. read more

All the food here was TOP NOTCH. Me & my friends went during happy hour and they have the best deals. We got the flatbread, crispy rice, dumplings, & deviled eggs. We had the best server ever! Make sure to ask for Jaden - he made our experience so fun and memorable. He gave us free dessert and some drink samples! We sat outside on the rooftop. It was so cute and had such a good view. The price point and quality of food is unmatched. 1/2 a star off just for the drinks - they weren't our favorite. read more

Reservations recommended as this is a busy hot spot. Astra has beautiful views of the Columbus skyline and sunsets. There is a bar, with some delicious drink options. They have seating and a balcony seating area to go out on. We ordered the potstickers and flatbread pepperoni pizza. The flatbread was really good and is easily shareable. The potstickers were also good but a little on the spicy side. They offer a good weekday happy hour. It was fun to see the different parties enjoying their food with family and friends. read more

The whipped feta dip was really good, but the portion size was small and the ratio was off but overall the presentation was 10 out of 10! Our server Havana was amazing. She was so sweet, welcoming, and helpful!! Will come back to see her :) read more

Awesome spot! Have not been back here since the redo when it used to be lumen, and it is so much better. Everything on their menu looked good, and it is very wide ranging in terms of options. Our server was extremely friendly, and she gave good recommendations. Lots of good options on the drink menu too. I had the silver platter fries as an appetizer, and we split the lobster mac & cheese which was so good (strongly recommend this to any lobster or mac & cheese lovers). My girlfriend and I split the mac & cheese, and it was plenty of food for the two of us with the appetizer. Really upbeat vibes in the restaurant too. We had a later dinner reservation, and the restaurant was still jampacked. Lots of bar space as well. We were seated right up against the window so we had a really cool view of downtown. Cannot wait to come back, great time here! read more

Astra rooftop was an amazing experience when I went for a girls night out in December! We walked in at 5:15 for happy hour and stayed for three hours because it was so enjoyable. First, it wasn't too crowded so the noise was really minimal, which was perfect for talking. Second, our server was INCREDIBLE. Not only was he so funny and warm, but when we were looking over at another table at their boozy mini mint ice creams, he brought us over an order on the house. My friends and I ended up splitting a bunch of appetizers. The crispy rice and deviled eggs were my favorite. I can't wait to go back! read more

Astra rooftop is such a vibe! I came here for a private event and let me tell you the sunset views here are amazing. If you're looking for a rooftop in Columbus I definitely recommend Astra. I didn't get to try their larger menu items but the small bites I had were really good! The bartenders are also cool and made some tasty drinks. I tried a pineapple ginger mocktail which was nice and an espresso martini that was a little strong for my taste. read more

I've visited Astra a few times now and have been consistently impressed. I initially expected "standard" rooftop fare, but the food is actually high quality. The cheese fries are a standout--the sauce is incredibly smooth and rich--and the crispy rice is excellent (it's just as good as Forno's, which makes sense given the connection). The only miss for me was the salad; it arrived in large chunks with a thin layer of dressing, making it messy and difficult to eat without a lot of DIY prep. That said, the service is always top-notch and the space itself is beautiful. Just a heads-up: it gets very loud, and the vibe definitely shifts into a high-energy, club-like atmosphere late at night. read more

**Live Review** I 100% would come back to this restaurant. Our waiter Sam was amazing!!! No complaints on any food ordered. I specifically ordered the Philly Sando bc they ran out of the burger but I'm not upset about it because they the Philly Sando was great! Full of meat and so many fries on the side! My friend ordered the tomahawk steak because it was her birthday and it tasted great. The presentation of the steak was very nice too. Service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly. Overall, the vibe of the restaurant is a lot of fun, perfect for dates, birthday dinners, or friend or family outings. But when I say family I mean 21+ year old family. Nonetheless, I'm planning a date night as I type to come back here. Come check it out. read more

We wanted to check out one of the newer spots in downtown Columbus and it was ok. We went during happy hour so the cocktails, starters and flat breads were half off which is a pretty large happy hour menu if you ask me! Looking back I wish I would have ordered one of the flat breads instead because the Philly Sando was a little underwhelming... it could be my fault since I'm a Philly cheesesteak fanatic and I kept wondering where the cheese wiz was. My husband thought the burger was fine but that the wedge salad was dry. The bang bang shrimp was soggy - I kept waiting for a more crunchy, fried type of bite but they just kept getting soggier. We LOVED the drinks - would definitely come back for happy hour to grab a few drinks but if you were looking for a spot with amazing food for your taste buds I wouldn't be able to suggest this spot. read more

My friends and I took advantage of a 60 degree day and went to Astra for happy hour. They had the patio partially covered, so we were still able to enjoy the rooftop views. The shrimp was my fav, but everything was tasty. Excited to come back once it's warm out! read more

To be honest I made this reservation for Christmas Eve a little last minute, so my expectations were somewhat low. BUT the food was great, the service was really good and the ambiance was perfect! We got there at 5:40 and didn't realize it was happy hour - half off small bites and drinks, which was surprising for a holiday! We got a couple cocktails - pineapple whip (very good), porn Star martini (very good) and a beer. The glasses they use for drinks stood out for their high quality and uniqueness. We got the potstickers (highly recommend) and bang-bang shrimp (average). For dinner we shared the Philly steak sliders, Marguerita pizza and a salad. The sliders and pizza were both very good! We are excited to go back. The rooftop gives a great view of the skyline. It felt like a special experience for a very reasonable price. We're excited to go back. read more

Last night, I was celebrating an award a close friend received and we decided to go to Astra. Who would've thought this would be the second highlight of our night! This restaurant, on the 8th floor, as soon as you enter, lets you know you've hit a classy trendy space! We were welcomed so graciously by the staff at the door and seated promptly on the terrace! We were first seated in a very nice bungalow. Forgive me for not having photos. Just let me tell you this, if you're looking to impress on date night, definitely call and reserve this! We were served by Sam who was incredible! He gave us excellent recommendations like the Bang Bang shrimp, dessert, and drink options! We wanted to see the views more, so he promptly reseated us at a 3 top with one of the most amazing views of the city! If you're looking for a place to unwind or windup for a celebration of some sort, add Astra to your list! We got lucky there were seats last night, but I recommend making a reservation. Excellent ambiance. Fair good server. Mediocre blah blah menu. Does cater to all budgets.

made a reservation just for me for my birthday. when i arrived it took roughly 10 mins to get me sat. no problem. the service was amazing. the ladies were very nice, and pretty knowledgeable about the menu. my literal only complaint is that most restaurant tend to give you dessert complimentary for your birthday, or else i wouldn't have ordered it lol. though i really did enjoy it. my steak was cooked to perfection, and i really enjoyed the views and being able to people watch. read more

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I experienced at Astra Rooftop (517 Park St, Columbus) during what was supposed to be a special evening. I had a confirmed reservation at 5:30 PM for three people, secured with a credit card, to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. After paying for parking, we arrived on time and proceeded to the host stand. The host acknowledged us briefly, stating she would be right with us, but then continued an unrelated conversation with her coworker. After waiting approximately five minutes, I asked if we needed to wait longer, and she responded yes--without offering any explanation--and continued her conversation. Several minutes later, we were finally escorted to a table located just a few steps from the elevator, which was not an appropriate setting for a special occasion or any occasio. I politely asked if we could be seated on the patio or at a table with a view, The host refused, stating it was "first come, first serve." This response was confusing, given that we had a reservation secured with a credit card. When I asked for clarification, my question was ignored. At that point, my girlfriend requested to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the manager's response was equally disappointing. He stated that he does not handle reservations and did not attempt to resolve the situation or address our concerns. When we informed him that we would be leaving, we asked for confirmation that our credit card would not be charged. He assured us there would be no charge. I travel extensively for business--approximately eight months out of the year--and have dined at many restaurants, including hotel establishments. I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing customer service experiences I have encountered. The lack of professionalism, attentiveness, and basic courtesy was unacceptable, especially for a venue that presents itself as a premium dining destination. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these service issues to prevent similar experiences for future guests. read more

Our friend invited us to their Grand Opening party. After we got our wristbands and 2 free drink tickets we rode the elevator to the top. The place was beautiful with a bar to the left of the elevator and outdoor seating that had a nice view of downtown. The drinks we got to try was a spicy margarita that was both delicious and refreshing and an expresso martini. They came in the cutest glassware! We also got to sample a few different pizzas, the scallops, a few desserts and the tomahawk steak. All the food was delicious and the pizzas were my favorite! I can't wait to come back when it's normal so I can enjoy this place without the crowd. It was very packed for this invite only event. The place was beautiful and when the sun set, it made the perfect background for epic photos! read more

Tried out a new restaurant for my boyfriend's 30th birthday and honestly, it was so good! Our waiter Brandon was amazing -- super friendly, checked on us often, and gave us all the details about the food, how everything's made, what's popular, and even suggested a few extras to add to our plates and drinks to really take them up a notch. And he nailed it! Everything was delicious. I seriously trust him with my taste buds now The food and cocktails were both so good -- everything had the perfect balance and a little something extra that made it stand out. I got the lobster sandwich and it was a huge portion for just $25. Like, they actually gave a good amount of lobster, not like other places that charge $20 for a tiny roll with barely any meat. The vibe of the place was beautiful too -- it gave major Cabo vacation energy. Super chill but still really put together. Honestly, we need more restaurants like this in Columbus! Can't wait to go back again, next time I'm bringing a whole group. And huge shoutout to Brandon -- he made our night amazing. He really went above and beyond! read more
