Christina was amazing. Always love Forno but this experience with her was next level!!! She was so sweet and had amazing recommendations. My poor friend had a sore throat & was losing her voice and Christina just came with a hot tea, amazing. She had a bunch of recommendations for someone who was dairy free. She honestly made our experience! The was tasty as ever. We tried the special of Chicken alla vodka and let me tell you... that needs to be on the menu full time because it was AMAZING. I recommend this place to everyone and I always enjoy myself!

Love coming here, for sure a Columbus favorite. Great place to come whether you've been here a while or are just visiting. You need to book a reservation about 2 weeks out if you want to come on the weekends between 5:30-9pm for dinner. Our serve Hailey was very attentive and took good care of us. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Had the bursts and the lobster rotini which was enough food to split between 2. Always great vibes here as it's always popping on a weekend night. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped in for a few drinks while visiting Columbus. Has a quintessential pizza/tequila bar vibe, if that makes any sense. Spicy margarita - refreshing and delicious. What really threw me was the extreme amount of ice my bartender, Ian, added to my drinks. Sir, I know they're only $13 but wowser, it doesn't hurt to actually demonstrate your appreciation for your customers. Take out the ice, and I was probably served about 4 good sips. This trend was upheld with my next cocktail, a Strawberry Basil Collins. It was very wine-forward with the taste - so much so, that it overshadowed any strawberry or basil that, allegedly, were included in the drink. The flavor discrepancy wad eclipsed by, again, the extreme amount of ice. Did I hurt you in a previous life, Ian? Did I pillage your village? Kidnap your first-born? Deny you a loan? I thought we it off nicely :-/ Music was on-point, good energy in the establishment, lovely bar but my apparent past-life transgressions toward my bartender compel me to deduct stars...even though He was the victim of my historical brutality.

I had no idea if they had a kids menu so, you're welcome

I was in town on a 3 PM game day but got a day before Saturday resy for 5:30. I'm an Aggie so, sure, whatever, no harm in Ohio State cheers. Free fries for kids, a kids menu with an $8 cheese pizza and a cool plastic kids cup with cars on it. There's a frozen cocktail on the menu (spin on aviation) and some other delicious cocktails. But they don't offer them to go. The scallops were delicious and the kids pizza was thin crust and also super good. It's a win all around with kids.

Forno is a staple in my friend group. We always come back for the half off pizza and speciality cocktails. The Frosé is especially popular and we love splitting a bunch of pizzas among ourselves. The low lighting makes for a great ambiance at an affordable price! Definitely a favorite in Columbus.

Checked out The Marmont speakeasy in the basement of Forno this weekend. It didn't give me speakeasy vibes so much as it gave me extended bar in the basement vibes, but still lovely. Service was great. Very prompt and attentive. Cocktail menu focused on the classics with a few subtle twists. Food menu was limited but served the purpose. Crispy rice was very good and also enjoyed the prosciutto pizza.

Maybe the BEST pizza we've had. And we're from St Louis, where there's good pizza to be found (not Imos). We were looking for pizza after my last event in the CrossFit Games as a way to celebrate the end of the competition and give our son a reward for sticking with us all weekend. After passing by several places with "Pizza" signs, I chose Forno because of the Yelp reviews. As usual, Yelp has never guided me wrong!! There was a bit of a wait, but it was very short, I think we got lucky. We were seated at a patio table with plenty of space in the front corner of the small patio area. Our server was immediately taking drink orders and chatting with us, she remained very attentive all night. We quickly ordered our pizzas and a roasted beet salad. The salad was great, perfectly roasted beets with arugula and goat cheese (of course!) Then the pizza arrived. It was amazing. Very bright flavors and more seasoning than most pizzas. The meats ( sausage, pepperoni, and prosciutto) were perfectly crispy and delicious. There were several cheeses on the pizza(as it should be!), and it tasted like a perfect blend. Highly recommend this for the pizza, the service and the overall menu that looks fantastic.

Good food but the amount of dust on these fake plants that are right above the pizza dough and the pizza ingredient station is appalling. I would be embarrassed if I was the manager of this place. Attention to detail anyone!? Absolutely unacceptable. I wonder how many times a chunk of dust has fallen on an uncooked pizza dough that someone inevitably ate. And when the door opens on a windy day, congratulations to the person that gets all of that dust and skin flakes on their pizza.

Solid 3.5 Tim was super sweet and knowledgeable. Informed us of multiple things not listed on the menu (like garlic bread and special margarita). Spicy margarita- 3/5 Garlic bread- 4/5 a cheesy garlic bread. We weren't expecting the cheese, but it was still good. We asked for white balsamic reduction and pesto vinaigrette on the side. Both sauces 5/5 and took the garlic bread up a notch. Vegan white mushroom 3/5- flavor/ sauce was bland. 1/2 Chicken alfredo 1/2 pesto Alfredo 2.5/5- bland. The mushrooms also threw off flavor Pesto- great but lacked sustenance. I'd order again and add chicken and maybe red onion Overall nice ambience, decent food and drinks and conveniently located in the short north. Happy hour and late night specials + speakeasy. I'd say it's worth a visit !

After having been away from Columbus for more than twelve years, I joined a group of colleagues for my first meal back in town at Forno Kitchen + Bar last night. They set up a special menu for my group, provided tasty food, good service, a memorable experience. There was even a speakeasy (or so I was told) downstairs that my colleagues checked out before I arrived for dinner. The menu included an appetizer, salad, and choice of an entree or pizza for each of more than 20 people. For my appetizer, I chose Arancini, which was fried risotto balls, fontina, and San Marzano sauce. The cheese, risotto, and tomato sauce blended so well together to make a wonderful appetizer dish! I then selected a house Italian salad with onion, prosciutto, pepperoncini, olives, ricotta salata, and herb vinaigrette. The salad was good though the pepperoncini was more spicy than usual, which I could have done without, but the rest of the salad was fine. I chose a pizza for my entree and went for the Carne Pizza consisting of Italian sausage, capicola, pepperoni, red onions, mozzarella, and San Marzano tomato. It was wonderful! I ended up with leftovers that I took to my hotel and heated up for another meal. Yum! This Italian restaurant hit home quite well for us. The food was great, and the drinks were as well. I stuck with a soda while some of my colleagues ordered from the nice, drink menu. Everyone was happy with drinks. The biggest challenge was that our large group only had one server, who was very helpful but it was challenging for her to keep up with all of us, and our dishes came out slowly often with us waiting a while for the last person to receive a warm dish before we started eating. There were also some incorrect orders brought out though we figured it out as it happened without an issue. The staff also told us not to give back the silverware used for the first course as we should use it for all three courses due to being short on silverware that evening. We read about the weekday happy hours from 4-6 PM that included half price house cocktails, drafts, glass wine, pizzas, shared items, and bar snacks. There are also half price bottles of wine and champagne on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 PM to 1 AM. While it was hard to hear each other, everyone seemed to have a good time with good company and tasty food. Thanks Forno Kitchen + Bar for a great evening!

    Linguine with clams

Wanted to have a nice dinner with friends after an event, and ended up with a car full of people desperately trying to find a restaurant in Columbus that stays open past 9 pm. Columbus has great food, but apparently the entire city has an early bed time. One of my passengers yelled out "THAT FORNO PLACE LOOKS OPEN" and we all went in blind. The decor and ambience were very nice, somewhat upscale but still cozy and family friendly. The service was incredibly friendly, and made my massive group feel right at home. We put in a giant order and it all came out rather quickly. Everything was very good, and way better than expected for a restaurant essentially picked last minute from thin air. My entire party was thrilled with their food, and while my linguine with clams was very good, the star of the show was this warm burrata appetizer with perfect tomato sauce; 3 were ordered and three disappeared before I even had a chance to snap a picture. The prices were also very reasonable. My only real complaint was that ambient music was a bit too loud, but all-in-all it was a delightful experience and a wonderful surprise.

Nice upscale venue in downtown. Smaller bar area with high top seating. Can be very crowded, so make reservations. Or server was attentive and kept the experience flowing. Happy hour here is one of the best! We did 2 appetizers and 2 pizzas. Took the pizzas home, but when they are half off, why not! Mozzarella sticks were good, nothing special, but the marinara was superb. San marzano tomatoes are used in the pizzas as well. I recommend the prosciutto pizza, light, fresh and a delightful balsamic glaze ties this one together! Great happy hour spot!

We came here for brunch on the weekend and it was packed! There's indoor and outdoor seating, an we opted for indoor seating because it was pretty warm out. We got the French toast, risotto balls, and pizza! Everything tasted great, and the servers were quick with water refill and alcoholic drinks.

Do I have to make a reservation for a party of 10-12 people?

Hi Summa! We do have a private room that can hold up to 15 people, or a larger room that can hold up to 30 people. We also rent out the blue side of our restaurant for parties up to 65 people as well. Our rates for these rooms vary based on the day… Read more

It's so creative, and the drinks are really the stellar stand out here. However, the atmosphere of those drinks is what gives me pause when thinking about coming back. The limited table situation, tiny cramped space, and loud music means that it doesn't feel particularly relaxing. People are constantly brushing up against you (even at 5PM), and holding a conversation at a normal distance is nearly impossible. NOTE: This place is covered in dust. No shade to the ownership as it doesn't appear to be anywhere near food prep areas (it's on the decor, on/around shelving, all over the faux plants, etc.), but if you're someone who's sensitive to dust, this is probably not a good fit. PROS: -I loooooooove how they've done their drink menu. As someone who is still exploring the potential of cocktails, their nerdy "chart" that places all of their drinks on a sweet/bitter and alcohol-forward/approachable visual chart is SUCH a help. As such, everything I ordered was absolutely amazing for me. I knew exactly what to expect from a drink because of its position on the chart, and it delivered. -Their drinks are really unique. Aqua faba? Fat washed alcohols? Lollipops or toasted marshmallows as garnishes? Super cool. Don't let some of the weirder descriptions creep you out of trying them. -All of their drinks were delicious. Everything I ordered was exactly as described. I often go places where the taste is barely related to its namesake, but they were entirely on-point here. CONS: -I'm not sure if someone called off that night as other reviewers are in love with the service, but our service was really really slow. No real rapport with the staff; just stating the name of a drink as they rushed past and then they were off to try to clean a table or take someone else's order. The drinks they made were great, but this isn't somewhere we'd go if we were in a hurry. -The pictures do not accurately convey how small this place is. Like, it's small. I'd guess less than 1000 square feet. My apartment is bigger by a lot. This isn't necessarily an issue, but it means people pile up quickly as they wait for seating (there's like 4/5 tables and then bar seating). The human walkways are small enough that the bartenders and other guests will brush against you a lot - even while seated. -I get the vibe they were going for here, but with the smaller space, I think a lot of the potential decor options had to "go" in order to fit more humans. It's giving me hardcore The Hearth Room (in Cincinnati) vibes, and I think it could honestly pull it off if it simply had more space. The "relaxed, sophisticated bourbon bar" doesn't quite come through as well when things are so focused on simply fitting in more bodies. -It's loud AF. Like, really, really loud. Between all the people and the blasting pop music, it required leaning into someone's ear in order to speak at normal volumes. We'd regularly have to pause the conversation if something in the music was building to a drop. This is not a place I'd take someone I wasn't very very comfortable with because it really requires being in someone's space to talk. -There's a single all-gender toilet here for everyone in the establishment. It's basically a revolving door of people in and out of it. The door auto-closes, however, so it's really difficult to figure out if it's open or not. There was usually a queue of people waiting in front of the door.

Cocktail vibe is more "laid-back friends talking over creative drinks" than sultry, romantic date spot. Tons of natural light means this cocktail bar has had some of my *favorite* cocktail bar photos I've ever taken. It's so pretty in here. NOTES: -During pop-ups, walk-ins are near-impossible on weekends and not likely on weekdays. Make a reservation if you want to make sure you'll have a spot. -No dedicated parking lot. 3-hour-limit free residential parking all around Law Bird, though. We generally have to walk 2 or 3 blocks from parking to Law Bird. Be aware this is German Village, and you're looking at cobblestone sidewalks for high heel and accessibility purposes. -Law Bird mostly has small party seating. If you have a larger group you want to seat during a pop-up, make SURE to get that reservation in early. They have the single 8-person table. -They have snackies and food. Portion sizes are small (despite what the prices may suggest), though, so this is not generally a place to eat a full meal. All of the food is super flavorful, though, so definitely a great snack to add on. PROS: -Keeping things fresh, they regularly host cute seasonal events, new drinks, and pop-up events. In recent memory, I know they've done a Cherry Blossom one, a Spooky Halloween one, and a Christmas one. -They go ALL OUT for their pop-ups. It isn't just a brand new, professionally-printed menu (no pieces of paper with 4 seasonal drinks here). It's also all of their interior decor, bathroom decorations, bartop decorations, and more. Ceiling decor too! They get all up in there. It's really fun to see the space transformed constantly. -Between the new menus and the constantly-new decorations of their space, I love regularly popping into Law Bird. -I LOVE the creativity of the menus, and I LOVE that they offer cocktail classes. (I haven't taken one yet, but I'm excited to!) The menu has unique drinks, served with unique garnishes. They have a few "sugar cocktails", but for the most part, Law Bird drinks tend to be complex and spirit-forward. -Their "themed" bathrooms (even with their own themed music playlists) make me happy. They have two unisex, single room restrooms. CONS: -If you come during a pop-up with a smaller group, they will enforce their reservation time limit of 1.5 hours. This isn't necessarily the end of the world, but the times when they enforce their limits is when they have more customers waiting - and tend to be when the place is at capacity. When they're at-capacity, the bar staff and service staff is a lot busier, with drink service taking longer and servers checking in a lot less. This means we usually only have had the chance to place 2 drink orders during that 1.5 hour time limit before they ask us to leave. This can be rough (to try most of the drinks on a limited time menu) unless you're sharing drinks with your tablemates. If you still want to continue your evening with your friends after that 1.5 hour limit, Antiques on High, Daily Growler, and Cobra are easily walkable from here. -During their pop-ups on weekends, time between placing a drink order and receiving the drink has usually been around 15 to 20 minutes. Not the end of the world as you get to socialize with friends, but again, with the time limit, that can be a bit rough.

That being said, upon opening the door we were told we couldn't come in without masks. Mine was in my pocket, no problem. I haven't left my home (in Tennessee) often enough since the beginning of the virus for it to become habit to automatically put on a mask when I get out of my vehicle. But 9/10 times I remember before entering a public place. The male bartender just seemed rude in the way he told us to put one one. I had read the raving reviews, and being a Yelp Elite myself I know I can and do trust their reviews above others. So....I was really looking forward to trying something new and enjoy watching a bartender do their thing. The bartender pointed to two framed menus on top of a cooler containing seltzer's and canned drinks, and some glass bottles of pre-made cocktails, I think. I would've appreciated the bartender ask me what I liked, and help me decide, but it was easier for him to point to the sign. Customer service absolutely sucked hippo balls. I asked if I could just order a Knob Creek and Coke in a short glass, and a Blanton's for my hubs. Sure!! What I got was a shot of each in a to-go plastic condiment container with a lid, and two big paper go cups (like Burger King) of ice, and a can of Coke, which I told him never mind I had a soda in the truck. We also got two bags of Cheeto's, to make the sale legal. So....we poured our bourbons over the ice in the paper cups. I drank a few sips of mine, yum, even in paper. My husband was just about to take a sip and noticed something stuck in his ice that looked just like a maggot. He walked back across the street and told/showed the bartender, who vehemently denied it came from the ice because it was a brand new bag. Then I noticed 3 of the maggot looking things in my ice, so I went back in and showed my husband and then the bartender. He told my husband it was probably from the citrus he was cutting on a board near the ice bin. They were frozen INSIDE the ice cubes. I'm upset with myself that I didn't take a picture of it, it was gross. I'm upset that a bartender would try to make it seem like it was nothing. After seeing it all in my ice my husband just asked for our money back, and the bartender said, "But I've already poured another." Ummm, sorry, but no thank you. He did give the refund, but I most assuredly won't give them a second chance when I visit Columbus.
