Filthy Gatsby Martini with surprise lemon peel lol

They have a rooftop in Powell and it's new and clean and a very unique experience in Powell. Only positive things I can really say. They over crowded our section when seated. Plenty of open spots around the roof but seated us in between two tables that were on top of each other. The guy next to my wife only ordered coffee and just stared at waitresses the whole time through his sunglasses on a cloudy day and made it awkward. This was at 6pm. Managers need to space people out. Come on. Our foul for not asking for a move, but come on if the floor is open why crowd us? Food, under-portioned and over priced. Hopefully the South Beach prices will calm down eventually but I think that's the allure of joint the COhatch is you get happy hour deals. Our drinks were not the greatest. They put lemon in my dirty martini that they charge you extra to make dirty... one blue cheese olive, one pickle one onion...per individual piece. I didn't know this so I had to send my 1st drink back because what I got was just water clear grey goose and vermouth and 4 unstuffed olives. Wife's sunshine mojito was an unmuddled giant glass of sour mix. Wine list looked good and I should have gone with my instincts and snagged a bottle to begin and the night probably would have gone completely different. I will be back to test this theory. Food took 30 min. It was probably just an off night but it did kill the vibe so we left after one drink and one plate.

The long awaited Lani Rooftop on top of the Co-Hatch building is finally here! Went during the official opening night. It was packed! Saw guest turned away who didn't want to wait around for a table. Team was very friendly. Tapas style menu so we tried a bunch of things. Disappointed a bunch of things did run out or were altered from the menu. Big wins were the Tuna Tartare, Hummus, & Steak skewers. They had a "flaming" drink but since we were sitting outside you can't order it. Got a chance to meet the owners and management team who listened to our feedback! They seemed very hands-on with the business which is a sign of a future success. Rooftop seating was nice especially if you can snag a seat near the fire pit Parking is limited due so plan ahead. Also make a reservation when you can especially for the rooftop tables.

First and foremost, the place is beautiful. The food was just OK and the service was really not that good. Our waitress I feel was trying, however something as simple as ordering a beer would take 15 to 20 minutes, and we were sitting at a table with a designated waitress. There were a number of times where we ordered and we would not even see our waitress for 15 minutes. And the place is not very big. At one point I ordered a beer and she had assured me two different times over a 10 minute period that it was on its way to only come over and tell me they were out of the beer and they only had warm ones left and if I was willing to take a different beer, which I obviously would have done that 10 minutes prior. Great location, great views, and obviously something that I hope it gets better with time, but it'll be a little bit before I give them another opportunity.

The bar staff are pretty unfriendly and weirdly enough, there is no standing room inside to grab a drink while you wait for a table. Also the music is strange. The hostess was very soft spoken, and didn't seem to be enthused to be there. She reluctantly let 2 of us sit and the other 2 stand. Maybe there was some issue that day that we don't know about? The bar area inside is relatively small, which I think adds an extra layer of coziness. The bartenders didn't acknowledge us at all, and when we finally we able to grab their attention, the female bartender didn't say so much of a hi, but said well did you talk to the hostess. We said yes, she reluctantly made our drinks. The cocktails are gorgeous. But we wanted some shots of dark rum. I kid you not, it was like they were refusing to give us these. It took 20 minutes -we counted- to get this. The food- I grew up in Hawaii, and this by no means is Hawaiian food. With that said, I loved the loaded fries. Everything else, hush puppies, coconut shrimp was just ok. The lobster rangoons were just terrible, they were overwhelmingly lemon-y. My sister had the burger and she said it was really good. A tiki bar should have a welcoming vibe, and this just isn't it. I might give the patio another shot if it's open, but for now this is a pass.

The menu is enormous with so many great options, similar to the cheesecake factory but great food! Their lunch specials are reasonably priced and the options are endless. I've never seen this at any mexican restaurant and they are really tasty so we get it as an appetizer. We haven't had their cocktails but they have a ton to choose from, including margarita flights! The restaurant always appears clean and the decorations are bright and inviting.

My quesabirria tacos were very tasty and the consume was flavorful. I ordered the sangria margarita and asked if it had pineapple as I'm allergic. Our waitress said it didn't, but when I clarified I was asking due to an allergy, she seemed unsure, which wasn't very reassuring. I think the chips & salsa is the same as before. Overall, it seemed that prices were a few dollars higher than Don Tequila was. They removed the booths down the middle of the room so there's more table seating and fewer booths (a more even split between the two now). Lots of sparklers were lit for some drinks and birthdays!

For dinner we split the rigatoni (very popular per our waitress and we can see why - delicious and the short rib was tender and plentiful) and lasagna (special for the night and also quite good)! The pork collar and the tare squash were beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. I requested the sommelier to recommend a wine that would compliment our order and the Domaine de Ferrand Chateauneuf - du- Pape a fine French wine from the Rhone Valley was our selection.
