The blue light does not mix well with their menus.

My first experience with Huli was during the pandemic- delivered food when I was craving chicken and rice. I've gone back in person a few times, and I repeatedly find myself consuming their chicken and rice. It's simple and delicious. Served with a simple salad and macaroni salad - it's not over the top (but no tuna, I crave that in tiki bars' macaroni salad!) The mixed drinks are varied. Some have the flavors that kick you in the teeth. The other knock you off your chair. They have variety here, but I think the use of orgeat is to the point of over-use. Plain and simple, I've enjoyed coming here. Summer - the back bar is awesome (when the weather is nice). The issue's I've had - the service and food can vary wildly. Sometimes, they're checking in on you, refilling your drinks, grabbing another mixed drink, your food comes out hot and fresh. Another time, you feel like you have to physically jump in front of your server, or be loud to get someone's attention (not rudely loud, just "excuse me? Excuse me?" as they fly by - and it's a narrow space, so you're not yelling across the bar. They just have some rough edges still as they evolve. They clearly have the passion and the theme down, it's just those little "extra" things that every restaurant goes through in their journey of highs and lows. It isn't going to stop us from coming back, but it does knock it down a peg on the "oh, we haven't been there recently" to "it's been some time, let's see how they have improved."

We really wanted to love this place but unfortunately we had some disappointing factors. In short, the service was extremely disappointing and rude. They were not apologetic about the mistakes. It was very over priced for average food. The waitress missed a main dish ordered. We requested the item to be removed due to being brought out late/forgotten. The manager removed the item and another item but added a gratuity charge, that was not on the original receipt. The manager stated this is because of our party of 6. But it ended up costing more than the original reciept. We tried a lot of items; coconut shrimp, pineapple bbq wings, tiki fries, aloha bowl, and a lobster roll. My favorites were the tiki fries and aloha bowl. The drinks were ok, as well. They were out of some of the options and also out of a beer on draft and did not communicate that until after ordered. Tried the category 5 and painkiller. On top of this, we noted we were celebrating a 21st birthday when making the reservation but there were no fun celebrations. Will not be returning.

Huli Huli is such a cool tiki bar spot! The spam bao buns were absolutely delicious; the tiki fries were LOADED and so addicting to nibble on and the bang bang broccoli is seriously tasty! The tiki drinks are so fun and there's so many options! There's plenty of non-alcoholic options as well! Go check them out the next time you're needing a tropical vibe!

We had an amazing time last night for dinner I love the Hawaiian vibes. Our server and food was all outstanding!! The music was really nice too. They have a whole cocktail menu too. I got the Aloha bowl and my husband got the Spam bowl. Super good!! I want to come back!!

I no longer love this place. Boyf and I went to have a lobster roll on a Saturday afternoon. We got a parking spot right out front. There was no one at the hostess stand, and I tried to make eye contact with the ladies behind the bar but to no avail. I suggested we go to the patio bar, and we did. We sat and were ignored. Then a guy saw us and I smiled. This is how he greeted us: Did you check in with the hostess? This should have been our cue to leave. We said there was no hostess. He said nothing. We finally got menus and he took our order. No friendliness at all. We split an order of lobster rolls and fries. I had a Painkiller. Boyf said The Walrus' same entree is much better. Plus they have sweet potato fries. There was another bartender who was friendly so that helped a bit. We paid our check and went elsewhere for drinks. Let me point out that they were not busy, with only a few tables and a few people at the back bar. No one at the front bar. And seriously, why do we need to check in to sit at the bar?

As one of the long standing restaurants in Powell, this place definitely caters mainly to locals. However, I have heard it draws a cocktail enthusiasts crowd from all over Columbus. I find their drinks whimsical and fun, but always a tad sweet for my taste. They do wash down nicely with some of their tapas-like foods. The fact that even their entrees are served in disposable containers makes you feel like you're never really having your main meal here lol. It feels more like a happy hour, before dinner drinks place. I can also see families having a quick dinner before or after a sporting or school event. Mostly, I think this is an adult restaurant. The food is decent, although nothing extremely extraordinary. The Bang bang broccoli is quite yummy though, & having Spam on the menu definitely gives them some Polynesian street creds. I do also like the idea that something like this exists in a mainly homogenized, American fare, suburban town center. It is convenient if you are antiquing or visiting in Powell. I just don't know if it's worth a drive or special planning to come to.

Lets start with this place has a great patio out back to enjoy for last bit of summer. Started of with the Fries which are tossed in a tiki dry rub topped with pork, bang bang sauce and pineapple salsa. These were so good I kept going in for one more bite, then they were gone. Last was the Kale pork sandwich, slow cooked pulled pork on a toasted brioche bun. With lettuce, tomato and of course bang bang sauce. I opted for the Mac salad which was a great side to the rich pork sandwich. Overall very good a little pricey for me.

Made the drive from Mansfield to visit! So happy we didn't did! Great Tiki Lounge! Wonderful atmosphere and decor. We opened with classic Tiki drinks while reviewing their menu. A Painkiller, Mai Tai, and Port Light to start lunchtime fun. Our drinks were superbly crafted and delicious! For our meals , my wife ordered their Huli Burger (no bun), mom their Buffalo Mochiko Chicken, and I the Huli Salad with Grilled Shrimp. If there was a down-check it was the size of the salad, on the plus side was the six good size shrimp on it! Looking forward to a return visit!!

Appetizers a plenty!

Had the coconut shrimp, pot stickers and the bang bang broccoli. All amazing. Mai Tai was the best drink I've had in a while. Strong and pretty!

Underwhelming is the word that comes to mind. The food was fine. Nothing to write home about. I'm glad I tried the shrimp. I really didn't like that they didn't even give us real silverware though. We got one plastic fork. Especially for the price, like cmon?! The service was only ok. No one came by to give us more water. Not super attentive. Drinks were good but overall an underwhelming experience and I would only get a drink if I went back.

We came to Huli Huli in Powell to celebrate my birthday, and it was everything I hoped for and more! The atmosphere is relaxed yet upscale, with a tropical-chic vibe that makes you feel like you're on a quick island getaway. We didn't even need main dishes--our appetizers and drinks stole the show. The Bang Bang Broccoli was crispy, spicy perfection, and the Tiki Fries were so flavorful we cleaned the plate. Every bite was bold, unique, and absolutely delicious. Our server Jacob made the experience even better. He was friendly & professional! He made us feel welcome and celebrated from start to finish. Whether you're stopping in for apps and cocktails or planning a full dinner, Huli Huli is a must. Can't wait to go back!

Had dinner here , been awhile, interesting place if you are looking for something with alittle different decor. You sorta feel like you are some where on a beach with all the exotic drinks . Nice patio , I tried the lobster roll. It was good but for the money I don't know if I would order it again.

This is the BEST Tiki restaurant I've been to in the last year out of 16. The food was delicious. Cooked perfectly. And the tiki cocktails were perfection. Tried a Zombie and 1944 Mai Tai. Never had one better. It gets better. We flew in from California the day before for a concert and football game. We were made to feel like regulars. Everyone was so excited to work there and take care of us. Don't miss the Huli Huli Tiki Lounge.

Between pool table hogging and straight up saying we would not be given a turn even if we put quarters down, and a different regular walking up to us and telling us point blank that the owner/bartenders are racist and do not want us playing rnb or hiphop music on the touch tunes - this place was extremely uncomfortable and had bad vibes. The bartender was seemingly drunk by the end of the night and severely over worked, completely ignoring some of my friends who arrived later. Also she just let the extremely drunk regulars physically climb all over the bar, and kept giving them drinks. If you want creepy old drunk white men to comment on your overpriced darts game this is the place. The owner apparently hates POC so much they refuse to have any rnb or hiphop songs on the Touch Tunes - which I didn't know you could even do. We checked because we wanted to put on some usher but there was like no songs. No modern music either. Just some trash country songs, one in particular stood out to me as a man repeatedly sang how his girl rocks a beer gut. Yes that is a real song that played through without getting skipped. My girlfriend was told "I'm not saying you guys aren't welcome here but it's usually just us after midnight so..." referring to herself and other regulars. Again these people approached us every time. The drinks were cheap, thats all I can say good about this place. I don't drink and my friends each only had 1 drink considering you couldn't flag the bartender down, so we were definitely not drunk nor rowdy. We quite literally kept to ourselves, out of the way, and these people approached us. We were also told "people in Gahanna are just not very welcoming of others...". Excuse me? We are very familiar with the Gahanna area, some of us work/live here. Gahanna is very diverse and has some really cool and NOT racist spots. They were very clearly trying to get us to leave. We came to watch the nuggets v wolves game, and play some darts and pool, but definitely wont be back. And will warn any POC to steer clear of this bar. May as well have a sign saying "Miserable Middle Aged White People Only" on the front if you hate young POC so much.

The place is not big and they usually have large parties coming in, thus fills the space quickly. We started with Tofu chicharron which we were expecting to be crispy - because chicharron means 'crackling pork rinds' but these Tofu were soft a lil disappointed there. We tried the pork sisig, it was okay. It has this mayo topping and there's an overpowering taste of ginger which is not typical of sisig. We enjoyed the grilled pork belly though, marinated enough and it's complimented with soy vinegar dip. The pancit on the other hand was very greasy. The oil was pooling at the bottom of the bowl. Taste was was just okay. It has way too many chinese sausage in it. We completed our meal with Ube Carioca, it is this chewy rice cake that is deep fried with glazed sweetness & that was okay as well. We wanted the mango sago, however they were out. The service was prompt and adequate parking space.

Having a view of the neighborhood pool across the park would be nice though. I love the way they've configured their banquettes allowing you to easily seat two to ten people wherever you'd like. The high ceilings are adorned with fishnets and sails, warmed by the neon glowing accents. The employees all have us a warm greeting and were attentive during our entire visit. You can opt to order with a server or just use the QR code on the tables. We enjoyed the Mai Tai, which though a little on the sweet side, had the correct Orgeat syrup in it for that island vibe. I can't wait to try more of the island cocktails! We ordered the Wahine Salad and the wings with the secret sauce. I'm not sure whether it was the sauce or the fryer, but something about the wings had a strong "fried fish" flavor, which I didn't mind but my significant other detested. The cauliflower wings were absolutely amazing! My only complaint for those was the portion size. $13 for four small florets/ounces of cauliflower, when I could've easily eaten a pound of it. We also opted to try the papaya fries and those were just as impressive. I've spent the last few days craving more of them! I definitely plan to visit again for drinks and order some food for poolside very soon!
