This spot was open late, which I really appreciated, and I was warmly welcomed even after 9 PM. Ana, who helped me, was patient and kind--definitely 5 stars for service. I had a hard time deciding what to order; the burger seemed popular, but I went with the fried chicken. Presentation was beautiful but ....For my taste, both the chicken and the pickled fries were a bit too salty, and the cocktail didn't quite hit the mark for me. I ended up taking the meal home because I really don't like wasting food--might repurpose the chicken for breakfast. Overall, I do wonder if the owners regularly taste the food themselves; it would be great if the balance of flavors was revisited. The space and service are lovely, and with a few tweaks, the food could really shine.

This is a little hole in the wall bar/restaurant with maybe 10 bar seats and 6 tables. The staff work their butts off. They are all very nice and attentive. Everything here is amazing. Wide selection of specialty drinks and the food options are fantastic. The espresso martini is delish. I got the wontons, pickle dusted fries, and confit wings. All of the food is 100/10. I will be dreaming about the wontons for months. The chili oil they come in is something I constantly need in my life. I heard they rotate their menu, so if you wanna try the wontons get there soon!

Food was delicious! Service was awesome and speedy! And the ambiance is low lit cozy bar! Loved everything!

Great environment and ambience. The margaritas are phenomenal! Ana's margarita is the perfect mix of fresh and tangy. The spicy margarita milk punch is delightful, highly recommended. The service is great. Very friendly and attentive.

Loved the decor and ambience of Rosebuds. We sat at the bar and the bartender (Ana?) was very friendly and attentive. Ana's margarita was too notch. We tried the feta dip, really cheesy burger, grilled cheese and pickle dusted fries. All were amazing. Ana also let us sample Pistachio Chellini (not on the menu). Will definitely be back!

The first disappointing Josh Dalton "incubator." Described as a "bougie dive bar," I was looking forward to great drinks and elevated pub food. Drinks- FANTASTIC (as always) with solid standards and innovative new takes Atmosphere- same layout as before (Cove) with a green neon sign behind the bar, giving the whole darkened place an eerie (?creepy) green glow. Service- responsive and friendly Food- The feta dip is an old standard and remains tasty with a good flavor. It is served with warm, fluffy pita wedges. The rest of the meal was a "swing and a miss." My wife's lemon pepper steak was overcooked and poorly seasoned; she left over most of it. My "cheesy burger" was on the smallish side, sitting in a little lake of molten cheese served on a fresh out of the oven plate." My server warned me to avoid touching it, which was ridiculous since the burger (cut in half) was sitting in the cheese lake a few millimeters above the hot plate. POORLY executed/thought out. I shouldn't have to risk 2nd degree burns to eat a burger, which was average and $15 or so--a better option twice as good and half as much right around the corner @ The Hamburger Inn. Our friend's fried baloney sandwich was left 1/2 over, and she said it was "ok." I expected more for four people, drinks, one app, and four mains @ $125 for pub food. This place could be SO much better. I hope they rethink and improve their offerings.

Have to say this has become one of our favorites for casual dining with amazing food. Drove to…read moredowntown Delaware and found easy parking on the street (there are also nearby lots). Backstretch is super casual (given Ohio Wesleyan is nearby - its almost a college/town bar) but great to come in a sit at the bar or one of their booths. It isnt big, maybe 15-20 bar stools and 12 booths and 1-2 tables. This time we picked a booth and a great server (Jacobi) helped us right away. Fun part of backstretch is the staff. Servers are friendly, you can watch the cooks prepare your food, and they have a full bar. Note they dont have many draft beer options, but servers tried hard to get us something we liked. Food here is fresh off the grill and tastes like home cooked food - from their Reuben(which was amazing) to Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (has kick but so good) - you cant go wrong. This time we added Tots, Mac and Cheese, and the Deviled eggs (most sandwiches are served with a deviled egg - tasty). We also tried Jacobi recommendation of Hencock Tots - wing sauce - cheese and bacon. Should have just made that my meal. Amazing. They dont take reservations but unless there is an event in downtown, you can usually walk in for dinner. This was our third visit in 60 days! Ready to go back - thanks Jacobi for a fun night and see you all soon.

    G & R Tavern - Infamous Fried Bologna Sandwich

I've been coming here for 40 years... it was good then, it's nostalgic bliss now. I know it sounds…read morecliche, but they have the best fried bologna sandwich. Not everyone's thing but it's definitely MY thing. Staff is friendly and moves quickly if you can find a seat. This place fills up. Truely an American treasure.

Holy Bologna! A Waldo Wonder at G & R Tavern"…read more Let me tell you about the day I took a bite out of fame -- fried bologna fame, that is. Nestled in the tiny town of Waldo, Ohio (yes, it is real, and no, we did not lose him), sits a local legend: G & R Tavern. If you have never heard of it, allow me to enlighten you -- and if you have, then you already know what kind of glorious, greasy magic I am talking about. Now, I came for one reason: the iconic fried bologna sandwich. This is not your sad, thin, floppy lunchroom bologna -- no sir. This is a thick-cut slab of love, griddled to golden perfection, with just enough char to let you know it means business. Slapped onto a soft bun with cheese and pickles, it is a blue-collar burger's funky cousin -- and I was here for it. On the side? Beer-battered onion rings that crunched like a symphony and made me seriously consider writing them a love letter. They were crispy, golden, and dangerously addictive -- I could have eaten a basket the size of Waldo. My wife, being a bologna skeptic (bless her heart), played it safe with a burger and fries. And I gotta say, for a place known for its bologna, the burger held its own. Juicy, well-seasoned, and stacked just right. The fries were hot, crispy, and ready to be stolen off her plate -- which, yes, I did. Now, let us talk about the decor -- because walking into G & R is like stepping into your great-aunt's basement rec room circa 1973. Think of wood paneling, lace curtains, neon beer signs, and maybe a deer head or two wondering how it all came to this. It is cozy, kitschy, and charming in that "we're not trying to impress you, we're just being ourselves" kind of way. And honestly? I loved it. But fair warning to the modern folks: this place is proudly, unapologetically cash only. No credit cards, no Apple Pay, no crypto, no tapping your phone and hoping for the best. It is old-school -- like Bologna. So come prepared with those greenbacks, or you might be washing dishes in the back next to someone's Uncle Larry. In a world of Instagrammable cafes and overpriced avocado toast, G & R Tavern is a refreshingly humble, meat-loving time machine. Come hungry, bring cash, and leave with a belly full of bologna and a heart full of small-town Ohio charm. Until next time... I am Brian, remember to Take the Trip -- your Next Adventure is waiting.
