Arrived around 2:30pm on a Sunday and was able to be seated in a booth for a party of five. The staff were friendly and service was decent but it did take a bit to get our meals. We ordered the pretzel bites with cheese and the fried banana peppers which were tasty. Our party ordered a few different burgers with fries to which we all agreed were pretty overcooked and underwhelming. The flavor was just lacking unfortunately and the fries were a bit mushy. We started out with drinks and appetizers. The mixed drinks were weak. I wouldn't order a cocktail here again. i would stick with beer. They did offer a free shot to the drinks but it should come not watery. So that was a bummer. Now the appetizers were a hit! Pepperoni chips came in a big basket. Plenty to share among 7 ppl. Wow this place is amazing. I was a little skeptical to go seeing the price of a burger but it was so worth it. I got the junior cheeseburger deluxe with onion straws. Good Burger, but I Miss Papa's Kick So I hit up Son of Thurman with high hopes and mushroom dreams, chasing the ghost of a legend: the Rad Shroom Burger from the Columbus Thurman Café. You know the one--horseradish mayo that slapped your taste buds awake like a Midwestern wake-up call. Unfortunately, the Son doesn't carry on that particular piece of the family legacy. No spicy mayo. No fire-in-your-nose nostalgia. Just me, sadly swirling horseradish with mayo on the side like a saucy alchemist, trying to recreate the magic like I should be in an episode of Breaking Bad. That said--the Mushroom Burger was still solid. Juicy, flavorful, stacked like it had something to prove. I did what I had to do (DIY horseradish remix), and it worked out well enough to make me feel proud and hungry at the same time. Service? Their BLTs are insane. Their burgers are HUGE. Their onions straws were a big hit with our table. I was a fan that they had a full bar as I was on vacation. Their pizza is not great, do not go for that. But that was my fault ordering a pizza at a burger joint. The wait staff is friendly. The inside area is quite dark and has a very factory, unfinished feel to it. The patrons ranged from families with young kids to bikers to teens to cute elderly couples. It really is a place for everyone. The bathrooms were pretty clean. Disappointing is the only word. We took our daughter here for her first time. First the food. My A1 burger was good. I ordered it medium and it came out as medium with some pink on the middle. My daughter ordered the same and it came out with some raw meat in the middle. When we questioned it, the response was that is a real medium. They offered to provide a new one. It took way too long to get the replacement burger out. The replacement burger was weep done, no pink so no ether burger was cooked to order. For our trouble, they took 50% off that burger. Our server was always very friendly through out, however appeared to be spread thin. Unfortunately won't be back for a while. Even with the discount, spent over $50 for burgers chips and fries. Came here for Father's Day. I believe they were short staffed because our time here for four people was around two hours. I understand here the burgers take longer to cook, but we waited 15 minutes before we even got to order fountain drinks. One of the best things I've eaten so far in Ohio. This place is apparently bigger than the Thurman's location. So, more seating, less wait time. On a Saturday at dinner time the wait was about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, due to COVID no one is allowed to wait in the lobby. If you come earlier in the day you can spend your wait time frequenting the shops around the area; they will call you when your table is ready. Some of the tables were pulled out to follow the COVID 6ft guidelines, as well as there being barriers between the booths. The burgers are gigantic! I had the bacon, cheddar, ranch burger. I asked to add jalapenos, which they did. However, just keep in mind they're fresh, not pickled like I suspected. Most of the burgers come with house made chips, a few with fries, onion straws, and one with Cajun fries. Will be back again. read more

I love this place. It's in downtown Delaware which is just one of the cutest towns ever. I love the open air set up they have. It's so pleasant to go in there on a Saturday afternoon when it's nice outside and have a burger and a beer and look out at the people walking by. I will say the food is a bit heavy for me at this point in my life but that isn't their fault - it's just what kind of food it is and that's fine. Bottom Line: Don't think I'd go back. I've been here twice and both times were disappointing. This last time was downright terrible. We sat at the one table in the very front, smashed in in between the front door and the bar. The table was fine because we had young ones w us and they were restless so we were totally isolated. Any other situation, aka no kids, I would have rejected the seating choice. Being totally isolated left us with little to no service. The 3 adults each had a beer and would've ordered another but we were never able to get the attention of our server or any of the people that flitted in and out of the bar area. We ordered appetizers. Only got 2 of the three. No plates to share. No utensils. No condiments. No Chicken Tenders - which was going to be the kids dinner. Thankfully Mom ordered a Flat Bread Pizza as her meal to share w the kids. It seems people come here for the obscene oversized burgers. Believe me, I love an obscene oversized burger but these were Just Big to be Big. When asked how I wanted mine cooked I said Medium Rare - then I was told that I could only get Medium or Well. My Medium was overcooked. The 2 burgers at the table could've been interchangeable. Their toppings do not stand out. Bottom Line: Food is OK but not worth a special trip.
