Another perfect Cameron Mitchell experience! Stopped in here a few weeks back for a work dinner and was amazed as always with the CM brand. We were seated in the event room which gave our work dinner a great vibe and allowed us to have a great conversation. Our server was very friendly and attentive as well. Dinner itself was delicious, had the sea bass which I heavily recommend. We also ordered several apps (not pictured) all of which I enjoyed as well. I am so please I decided to come to this restaurant, I can't wait to come back. The service was exceptional, and the restaurant is classy but not elegant enough to make you feel you are underdressed. The food was good and well presented, our server was kind enough to give us half portion of the fries for our baby and charged us only half price which was an accommodation that I wasn't expecting (nice touch). Service: Jamie was a phenomenal waitress and whenever I return I'll be requesting her without doubt. Attentive, even pouring the water pitcher for me when she had no obligation to. She was pleasant to talk to and our conversations were long and far from dull. Ambiance/Atmosphere: inside is beautiful. Dimly lit, but well lit where it counts and a beautiful bar with seating throughout the restaurant to match. This is definitely a great date night spot. Food: The burger was incredible. May be the best in the Columbus area when it comes to sit down dining. Juicy, flavorful, great topping, and a perfect sesame seeded bun this was a highlight. I enjoyed that you could taste the cheese in each bite rather than most burgers having a dull tasting cheese. This is a must order when dining. French Dip was delicious. Incredibly tender beef and packed too. Most French dips and steak sandwiches in general are stingy on their fillings, but not this one. The Aju was well flavored, but could maybe be a bit stronger. It did pair very nicely with the sandwich especially the great baguette that was crunchy, but soft in the middle and not overly bready. You could tell the beef was meant to be the highlight as any French dip should. The creamy horseradish let me down. It paired well with the sandwich, but it was heavily lacking a horse radish flavoring and was more sour cream heavy. As someone who is a big fan of strong horse radish this was a let down. I'd recommend ordering a side of raw horseradish to mix in. I'd recommend this dish without doubt. The Shanghai Sea Bass was great. Tender, flaky, well seasoned sitting on a bed of sticky rice that sits in a pool of ginger garlic broth. The executive chef recommended this highly as their number one dish and I can say it came to compete. Immediately you're hit with the strong fragrant Asian flavors when placed in front of you and each bite is a reminder of those flavors all pulling together in a delicious dish. It is a stronger dish, but as someone who loves strong flavors in their food this is a must recommend. Sticky toffee pudding is an off menu specialty that is delicious. Tender date sponge with a very good, but not overly sweet toffee sauce. This warm cake paired with the cold vanilla ice cream was a delight. I'd highly recommend if you can get your hands on it. read more

We went to Hudson 28 yesterday for Father's Day brunch, and as always, they did not disappoint! We've dined here several times, and every visit is consistently wonderful. The service was great ,friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food? Absolutely fantastic. It's not your typical brunch spot; the way they present each plate makes the whole experience feel extra special. I ordered the beef hash with two perfectly poached eggs, the eggs were cooked just right, and the beef was incredibly tender with a light, flavorful glaze. It also came with a side of nacho chips, which was a fun and tasty touch. My husband got the quiche with a side of arugula ;so fresh and delicious! Everything on the plate was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We finished with a lemon donut for dessert , so good! I wish I had remembered to take a picture, but it was too tempting to wait! Highly recommend Hudson if you're looking to make your brunch feel like a little something extra. Shame on you Hudson 29! My 82 year old mother is sitting here telling me about their lunch experience from last week. I'm appalled that you charged them for their food...one woman ordered a hamburger and received a cheeseburger instead. She has food allergies. When she asked for it to be corrected, they took her plate and did not return with her meal for 45 minutes, after the other two diners had finished their meals. And the other two meals were supposedly "lunch" portions of a dinner menu item, but were lacking all of the ingredients and were charged the dinner price!!! I think you took advantage of a couple nice older ladies. You won't be on my list anymore. read more

I have been to Hudson 29 three times. The first two visits were quite good but my most recent was terrible. I wanted to bring my spouse here because she enjoys crispy chicken sandwiches. On this occasion we decided to share one. It was terrible. It was so salty and overcooked we couldn't finish eating it. Too bad it spoiled our outing. read more

I've tried this Hudson 29 multiple times, and each time it's been just ok, or had distinct ups and downs. Positives include great ambiance in their outdoor patio area and at the bar, which also serves really excellent if somewhat pricey cocktails. The issue has always arisen with food and full service in the dining room. The food has tended to be mediocre. For instance, on this recent visit, we ordered the queso and guac, and the queso came out cold, like it had already started to congeal again instead of being nicely melted. My daughter ordered a kids rigatoni meal, and both the pasta and the cheese roll were rather bland (I sampled them both and did not just take her word for it). I ordered the BELT, which while not bad, tasted rather heavy and overly salty, especially when paired with super salted fries as well. Our service was also very slow, though friendly once it started. We waited over 10 minutes for anyone to greet us and offer us drinks, and after the entrées came out, our server was gone for so long that we joked he had left for the day. I have had similar experiences each time I have visited, especially with subpar or simply uninterested service. I think this location has great potential, and I have had great experiences at the one in upper Arlington. I would absolutely come back and sit at the bar and enjoy a couple happy hour cocktails and good company with friends, but I don't think I will be seeking out opportunities to dine here for a full meal. read more

Let's start with a shout-out to the hostesses--they were polite, efficient, and kept the check-in process moving swiftly. Only two couples ahead of us, yet I felt like I was auditioning for a role in a sitcom where personal space doesn't exist. But hey, nothing bonds you faster with strangers than a shared awkward entrance! Once we made it through the gauntlet, a very sharply dressed gentleman whisked us away to our table. He waited patiently as we got settled and then swooped in to clear the table dressings with the grace of a seasoned pro. Our server Jordan was a delight, introducing herself and offering to fetch us something beyond water. We kicked off with the sweet potato roll. Let me tell you, this was the sushi of my dreams--tempura sweet potato, avocado, and cream cheese rolled into one heavenly bite. If my taste buds could high-five, they would have. Next up, cheese-stuffed butter rolls. Yes, you read that right. Butter and cheese, together at last. These rolls were so buttery and cheesy, they should come with a warning: May cause spontaneous joy. They pulled apart to reveal even more cheese in the center. Glorious. I went with the roasted chicken salad, which was as delicious as it was healthy. My husband dove into the blackened fish sandwich, declaring it full of flavor. The fries, though, were a bit of a letdown--skinny and cold, as if they'd just returned from a polar expedition. A side of roasted corn and avocado stole the show with its fresh tomatoes and mystery cheese. It was so good we wished we'd ordered two. If salads could give TED Talks, this one would have received a standing ovation. Our only gripe? No one mentioned the specials. Sat outside in the nice enclosed patio area. To start we did Chicken meatballs and chips and dips, both amazing! Meatballs were tossed in sweet chili bbq sauce. Chips were hot and crisp and the guac was fresh! The rolls were so cheesy and SO DELICIOUS. Will be a staple anytime we visit a Hudson location. Over the years, the restaurant has been consistently good. We've been there so many times and for an upscale neighborhood restaurant, it's perfect. The ambiance is neighborly and the staff is always attentive. This visit was bittersweet, it was my going away dinner with friends since I'm moving across the country. The staff was excellent. Our server asked if we were celebrating and we mentioned why we were there. She left us be and quietly filled our waters and interrupted at the most appropriate time without disturbing the flow of conversation The sea bass was fabulous. One of the issues I have with ordering bass out is the filleting, always done well here. The board was good too with the meat fresh, as well as the cheese. I always love the hot jelly, which was tasty I highly recommend the restaurant and I will miss it until I come back to Ohio read more

Located in a very nice area of New Albany, just outside Columbus, Hudson 29 offers plenty of ambiance. One can sit inside or out and the service is very good. Excellent food, wonderful atmosphere, and great service, this place serves as a nice option for an upscale experience. I came here three times in one week back in July while traveling for work because the food and service were excellent. Back in town and returned twice this week and was disappointed both times. The French Dip wasn't nearly as good, the espresso martini was off, and tonight's to-go sushi and side of fries with bbq sauce order came with no plasticware, napkins, or the BBQ sauce I requested. My manager took my team and I for my birthday, its only down the street from my office! The ambiance is very cozy/chic inside which felt really nice! We started with the Queso and Guacamole, both dips were great. I ordered the Hudson 29 Cheeseburger medium well and it gave the other cheeseburgers in Columbus a run for their money. It was such high quality and had amazing flavor. They gave me a complimentary birthday piece of Citrus Olive Oil Cake. Which was also delish! I was treated to dinner here on a job interview. The place was about 90% empty on a weekend night. Our waitress was super attentive and checked on us frequently, also knew the menu well. I started with the ahi tuna tartare. I'm beginning to realize that tuna tartare is a synonym for poke, or at least it has been at the last couple of places that I have ordered it. The fish was perfectly fresh and lightly marinated in soy sauce and sesame oil. It was served with crusty/crunchy bread and (quizzically) a deviled egg. For my meal, I ordered the prime rib. I don't order prime rib often, making it difficult to know exactly how well Hudson 29's offering stacks up. I found it wonderfully tender, soft with just the right balance of fat and lean. It was served with au jous, horseradish sauce, and potatoes colcannon. Altogether the meal was a good size for a big dinner if you had a light lunch and you skip dessert afterwards. The price was higher than most dinners I have but was about right for the type/quality of food we had. I'd come back for a business dinner or a special occasion. read more

Yum! Finally stopped by for lunch and I'm so glad we did. The hubby got the trio that comes with the soup, salad, and sandwich. Caesar salad was tasty and fresh, the turkey sandwich was served hot I didn't try it but my husband said it was good, and the soup of the day, potato leek was great as well. I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich with fries! SO delicious. I will definitely be getting this when I come back again.
