Located in a strip mall in Gahanna, youre not likely to stumble upon this place. We found it on Yelp and trekked out from Reynoldsburg for a late lunch. Taking advantage of the nice weather, we sat outdoors. There was ample seating indoors and out. The menu is eclectic and stacked, so we had a hard time deciding. Good luck we're trying to find somewhere to park as this is in inside of a consumer Square, and all of the parking spots were filled, I guess the day we came they were very busy. This was our first time here and there was a line we came in and said we needed a table for two. They asked us if we had a reservation. I said no she said it's best that you make a reservation so that was like a bummer. she told me that they had two table tops or we could sit at the bar because there was no tables available so we sat at one of the table tops. It was very loud and overstimulating, but the employees were very nice and pleasant and well dressed. Our waiter explained the menu to us and we ordered chicken wings and flatbread. The flatbread was hard for Me, and all of the toppings were like in the middle of the pizza, but for Ace he loved it. I asked for my wings to be extra crispy. They was not extra crispy and they had a sauce on there. That was very nasty. I didn't eat the wings. The table beside us was very disrespectful because the young man was a little drunk and the young ladies that he were sitting with kept yelling at him and telling him to calm down and told him he was doing too much so it kinda was like overbearing for us we just wanted to leave because he was talking very loud. He was talking very aggressive. He was just obnoxious and I could tell the waiter was getting annoyed as well. We paid for our food and left. I have always loved 101, it's been one of my go-to places. Haven't been to this location in awhile, and my parents were in town so we went. Started with the tots, which were really good, but they weren't loaded, just cheesy and a little sauce on time. We asked for the pork on the side and didn't get it at all. My dad and I ordered brunch- avocado toast for me and the skillet pancake for my dad- and they were both cold. Not warm, mine didn't have any warmth at all. My mom's mac and cheese looked awesome, very warm, and her grilled cheese dip plate was too, and she loved them. I knew I didn't want to eat my meal as-is, and was going to ask them to at least warm it up, but my waitress never came back to check on us for so long that my parents were almost done eating (my dad ate his cold, but ice cold egg was a no-go for me). He had to wave her down to come back to us, and I just decided to not bother and they took it off the bill. She also forgot to refill my coffee, but the manager came over I asked for it from him. He explained that the toppings on the avocado toast make it cold, so I guess be warned. Disappointing visit for sure. read more

Updating my review from a year ago... stopped in to celebrate my birthday. We had made a reservation and we indicated that it was a birthday. Enter the restaurant and told them we had a reservation. I don't think they even checked the reservation to see that there was a designation saying it was a special event because we were not asked if this was a special occasion. A reservation was early 1115 There was not many people in the restaurant, maybe five parties and other people at the bar I expected that but what I didn't expect was how unusually cold it was Our server was pleasant and attentive. There's a huge jug of water on the table, so you do not need to rely on the server for your water. I had ordered iced tea and she would bring refills very quickly to the point I needed to ask for no more refills for fear of not being able to sleep for days For an appetizer, we ordered the loaded tater tots. This is supposed to be one of their signature appetizers. And to be honest, this is what brought my review down to three star. You get a lot of tater tots however they're not loaded -far from it. I know what this appetizer supposed to look like and this is why we came to this restaurant. There was hardly any cheese whatsoever and I think we found three pieces of pork belly and they were tiny there were maybe five sprigs of green onion on top and this was probably the most loaded of any of the ingredients we said something to the server and she responded "oh you should've let me know I could've changed that " well. The problem was she didn't come back until after we had almost 80% finished it. We had eaten most of the evidence we weren't about ready to say please remake this.... We were just disappointed. Now I'm gonna say another thing... In the past two or three times that I've come here other than this time I've had the exact same problem with this appetizer This is supposed to be their signature appetizer. I don't think that they want their signature to be associated with disappointing. As it's been disappointing the past three times and other times I have sent it back. After eating the appetizer, we both ordered salads. My salad was the beet salad and it was excellent. Nice dark greens (spinach, and arugula?). Plenty of beats. The dressing that accompanies it was so good. I asked for a second one which is unusual for me as I don't usually use dressing. I had jumbo shrimp put on it and this is one of the few places that actually used jumbo shrimp. I was very pleased with my salad. My friend ordered the Caesar salad salad with chicken She removed the kale. I don't think she should've done that. The lettuce that was used wasn't deep cream. It was greenish yellow. I almost looked like iceberg lettuce, but I don't think it was. There was no this is really good and it took her a really long time to eat it and I don't think she finished it. I wasn't impressed with what was set down in front of her and to be honest after the bad appetizer and then the salad presentation. I felt guilty about suggesting this restaurant. We eventually finished our meal in our conversation The server came to ask if we want a dessert again nothing about my birthday was referenced and we chose no dessert However, they do have butter cake, which is my new obsession. We are so glad 101 Craft Kitchen extended its participation in Restaurant Week for an additional week! The food was excellent and so delicious. My husband got the Korean BBQ Scotch Egg (so different but very tasty), BBQ glazed meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes, lemon chilli green beans (he normally doesn't like his vegetables, but he said these were so fresh and tasty), and Espresso Martini Pot De Crème. I had the Italian Wedding Soup (very good but did not have the meatballs), Pasta Bolognese (pasta was cooked perfectly and drained properly, so it did not water down the sauce!), and Apple Pie Mousse. I also got one of their mocktails called Brambleberry Tea. I could have easily drunk a couple of those! I forgot mention that they pour some nicely chilled water from a bottle that they leave on the table when you sit down. That is a nice touch for us since that is our choice of beverage when we eat. We were treated so warmly by everyone from the time we walked in until we left. Our server, Tyler, asked if we had been before (and this was our first time), so he welcomed us and asked if we had any questions. He was attentive during our time and even asked my husband if he needed any more sauce for his meatloaf. Marvin, the manager, stopped by to see how our first experience went and wanted to invite us back by gifting us coupons for an appetizer on our next visit. Thank you! After attending a movie at Stoneridge I dropped in to 101 Craft Kitchen for a beer and pretzel. The beer list seemed a little shorter than what I remembered form the last time I visited when it was called 101 Beer Kitchen. However, I still found a tasty hazy ipa. I expected the pretzel to be a large Bavarian style pretzel but it turned out to be 2 dinner roll sized pretzels and some cheese sauce. The pretzels were warm and tasty. The cheese was really thick and served cold. I think it would have benefited from 30 seconds in a microwave, but still had great flavor. Honestly, I probably would have given 101 Craft Kitchen 3 stars, but our bartender was extremely friendly. She took time to discuss what beers were available, offered samples and even talked to me about the movie I went to see. Came in last Sunday for a nice Brunch. We sat at The Bar and Rachelle was very helpful and nice. We have been customers for many years and I've always been effusive promoters of 101 Craft Kitchen. The restaurant has recently introduced substantial changes to their happy hour. While it is good that it has been opened up to offer happy hour, regardless of where One is seated in the restaurant, the changes to a much more limited array of happy hour choices and the increase in the pricing of the drinks is extremely disappointing. This is particularly so when considering that some of the limited wine options that are offered at happy hour our brands that one can buy an entire bottle in the store for the same $9 price being charged for the purported $9 dollar "per glass" happy hour "discount." I will remind 101 management of the old adage.. " Business goes where it's invited and stays where it's well treated." read more

This is another one of those places I wish I could pick up and take home with me. We were looking for dinner on our last night in Columbus but we weren't too hungry so my better half came across this place. The appetizer list looked good so we headed over. The space is really welcoming and inviting and overall has a super vibe. Our server was very sweet and super helpful. I started with their house old fashioned, which was very good and at less than $10 a bargain (at least compared to NYC prices). We decided on salads for entrees so thought that a couple of appetizers wouldn't hurt. We had their loaded tater tots and deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were great and the little "flags" of prosciutto sticking out of each were so good. Also, not very heavy at all. The tots were terrific too. If you're used to Ore Ida tots or similar, these are like those on steroids. Big and crisp, with a fluffy inside, they were really tasty. I had the southwestern salad with grilled shrimp as my main and it was a wonderful salad. The shrimp were great. I couldn't finish it as it was so big. We could have split the salad for sure since we had the appetizers. Our delightful server did convince us to try the coconut cream parfait. She said it was light and it wouldn't make us feel too full and she was right. It was really delicious. If this place ever wants to open a location in the Big Apple, I'll be first in line. read more

Love the seasonal menu and beer selection. I have been here several times before and I always get the fried plantains...today they were extra fried. Not to the point of sending them back but it was close. Which is sad because this is one reason for frequent visits. This time I tried their parm fries...they're ok. Maybe salt and vinegar fries. My grilled cheese was...meh. Too much mustard. There was an overwhelmed the Brie and apple. The soup. Hallelujah saved the experience. Just the right amount of spice. The service is always the same and that I like. I do like the vibe or ambiance...I tend to come here after, before or not during a rush. I like my establishments this way. Next time I will stick with the beet salad with chicken or anything but the grilled cheese....the manger was/is very nice and took off the sandwich from my bill. They had an awesome half-price special on drinks and appetizers, which made it easy for our group to relax and enjoy a variety of items. The loaded tots and wings were a hit with everyone, but the standout for me was definitely the Crab & Roasted Artichoke Toast -- so flavorful and unique! Service was solid throughout our visit, and I especially want to give a shoutout to Phil (manager), who helped me out after the fact by quickly sending me a copy of my receipt that I lost while traveling. We picked this for brunch, in part due to the proximity to TJMaxx for an after lunch shopping spree. But the brunch is solid. There were several non-sweet options. Not too bad. Pretty good place to get some food at. I got brown butter potato gnocchi and the ale and cheddar soup. The soup was ok at best, it tasted like melted down cheese. If that's your thing then ok, but I didn't really like it. The gnocchi was amazing on the other hand, had lots of flavor but there was lots of olive oil at the bottom of the bowl. The portion was small but it was listed as a smaller portion dish. The service was slow, even though there wasn't that many people there. This review makes me sad to write since this used to be my spot. I don't know what's happened but this location at least (can't speak for any other, as this is the only one I've gone to) has gone downhill a lot in the past 2 years, but noticeably so in the past year. It's as if they got all new staff in the kitchen overnight. I think management might have changed as well. The wings are never as tasty & crispy as they used to be. The pretzels have come out over baked multiple times. The salads are just ok most of the time, when they used to be my favorite. And the cocktails aren't always well-balanced. I have to say that during this last trip, my food tasted good, but the service & lack of organization of this restaurant left me upset. I finally drove away at 1pm with this order which was supposed to be ready by 12:30. I had pre-ordered the night before so there wouldn't be delays. I was on my lunch break so I parked in the spots for them to bring your food out to you. Just in case they were running late or busy, I showed up at 12:42. They ask me if it could be under a different name because they don't see it (this was my first red flag that they had not even made my order). I sent them a screenshot of my order. At 12:47 they text me saying it "has a few minutes". Right away I text "was it not made? So that I know not to sit here with my gas running". No response whatsoever. 13 minutes later, my food gets brought out. A lot of my issues could have been mitigated easily by communicating with me, let alone even acknowledgement &/or an apology when the food was brought out (which a manager did, making it worse not some 16 year old hostess). 20 minutes later of my gas running, wasting my entire lunch break & being upset that I keep giving this place a chance I'm not sure I'll be back anymore. ** for reference, I worked in the restaurant business for 20 years in every part of it, from bartender, to hostess to management, ect** read more

My friend and I ordered a sandwich that had pesto mayonnaise on it and requested that the mayonnaise be put on the side. We were told that nothing could be modified on the sandwich because they're pre-made, possibly being made the day before! We also ordered the green beans which were beyond tough. I don't think I've ever ordered a sandwich that had mayonnaise with it that the mayonnaise could not be put on the side. And the fact that these sandwiches were made the day before possibly not actually put together but the mayonnaise was already on them, was more than a little disturbing. I've been to 101 before, but I don't think I would go again. And I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

My husband and I had a reservation today at 1, got there about 10mins early and we were immediately seated, greeted and given water and a big jug that had more water in it. Cute jug and the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Our server then greeted us and we asked a few questions about the menu items we didn't see on the brunch menu. Had the artichoke crab toast for an appetizer and it was amazing. My husband got the schnitzel abs I got the pecan honey chicken both entrees were amazing and portion sizes were on point. We had a very interesting experience at 101 Craft Kitchen on Wednesday. We were excited to visit in person, as it's one of our favorite spots to order from on DoorDash. When we arrived, it was Restaurant Week and the restaurant was half empty. We asked the hostess if we could be seated for two at the bar. She told us it would be a 20-minute wait--despite the bar also being half empty. We paused to talk among ourselves, then asked her again if we could at least sit at the bar, have a drink, and wait. It felt as if they were going to turn our business away entirely. She said, "Let me check," and added that it had been a stressful week due to volume--again, while the restaurant remained visibly under capacity. She returned and told us we could sit at the bar and have a drink, which we appreciated. The main bartender who greeted us was excellent--very friendly and attentive. We ordered a drink and began to settle in. A few minutes later, another individual (who turned out to be the manager) approached us and asked if we were ready to order. We said we weren't quite ready, but asked if we could order from the regular menu instead of the fixed-price Restaurant Week menu. He replied bluntly: "No, only the Restaurant Week menu is available." That was disappointing, as we were hoping to order more than what was included in the limited menu--ultimately spending more and supporting the restaurant. Shortly after, the original bartender returned and asked how we were doing. We let him know we'd decided to head out, as we couldn't order what we had come for. He looked confused and said, "You can order off the regular menu--who told you otherwise?" We pointed to the man who had just spoken with us, and he replied, "That's the manager." So in a span of 20 minutes, we went from nearly being turned away from a half-empty restaurant, to being denied a seat at a half-empty bar, to being told we could only order from a fixed menu--only to have all of that contradicted by the staff themselves. It was a completely odd and disjointed experience. I suspect this may have been the result of an understaffed or overwhelmed kitchen. We truly enjoy their food and still plan to continue ordering takeout, but this visit gave off a strange and unwelcoming vibe. I hope others weren't turned off during Restaurant Week and that management takes steps to address these clear signs of operational dysfunction. read more

Had a great experience today at 101 Beer Kitchen. The atmosphere is so beautiful and they have such a unique menu that changes with the seasons which I really liked. I just checked online to give you guys more information on my food and what I ordered is not on their website but was on their menu in the restaurant. My food was good but I do not think that I would get that particular dish again as it was just not for me. I got brunch with gravy and corn bread underneath it. I wish I could give a more accurate description. The gravy was very good but I wasn't a big fan of the dish overall. I have to still give high stars for this restaurant as it is very good. This was our first time to this location. Greeters were friendly and our way to our booth was easy. It seemed like the aisle was wider than the one on Polar's Parkway. My husband and son's 101 burgers, ordered "medium" were fairly pink. Hmm, maybe next time they need to specify a temperature or say "not pink". Our server was hard working and I was impressed with how the manager greeted each table. We even saw her serving and cleaning tables and sweeping the floor.
