My friend and I came back to use our Welo giftcards for dinner! The place was moderately packed for a Wednesday evening, but we got seated pretty quickly. Our server was friendly and very helpful, she kept things flowing smoothly. I tried the muscles and fries with a cran & vodka while my friend built her own veggie pizza. Everything was delicious! My only issue was how hot it was inside because they kept the door to their outdoor patio open :/. There were fans on and I think AC too, but what's the point of that when 80+ degree heat is coming in from the patio? read more

I decided to check out Grandview Cafe because I'm moving to Grandview in a couple months and wanted to check out the local businesses and it was so cute! The ambiance is super local and warm which I love in a pub type restaurant and the food was delicious as well. The only downside was that we had a reservation booked but when we walked in there was a "seat yourself sign" and we couldn't find a table for 15 minutes. It's okay if it's only walk ins but we expected to have a table reserved with our reservation. Overall great place and I will be back! read more

Brunch the meal where ne'erdowells mingle with the church crowd so both can judge one another. I didn't have time for either. Slid into a booth at the back rather than take advantage of the patio on a nice day. Ordered my coffee. "Do you need cream or sugar?" "Noir" I quipped. The waitress didn't dig my vibe. We were seated at the bar and the service went downhill from there. We ordered drinks and finally we were able to order a brunch item. When we received our order from a young man he only had one napkin and utensils for one person. He said sorry we out of these items. The lady next to me provided a rolled up napkin and utensils that were never used. Other orders coming out of the kitchen came out with the proper items after us. There was never a check back and we finally stopped a bar back to close out our account which was never entered. The food was only average and the service and atmosphere was only fair! read more

Food quality has gone exceptionally downhill. Ordered food here and my wings weren't sauced, mac n cheese was gross/no longer quality and the Caesar salad was noticeably not as nice as well. Unfortunate since this was such a go to spot, but I won't be back :( read more

I recently got to Grandview cafe. This was a great experience, we were seated up stairs very nice if you was having a party. I got the breakfast burrito which was very good. However the Chicken and biscuits was even better, It came house made biscuits with a country gravey, and buttermilk fried chicken, topped with bacon crumbles and a hot honey. I got the hot honey on the side in case it was very hot, however it was very good and I ended up using it all. Great place and had clean restrooms. read more

We attended a wedding welcome reception in the upstairs room. Two bartenders did a fabulous job of handling drinks and the crowd. Also had a massive charcuterie tray for the appetizer. Service was amazing and the view off the patio was quite nice. read more

I ordered this on Uber eats... I got the wings special two for 14 and it comes with celery. I didn't get the breaded and these wings are fire. The presentation was beautiful. A service was quick. About 30 minutes. Will definitely put this on my list of places to go. read more

By no means am i saying this will be a life changing visit for you. The parking will not be the smoothest part or your visit. I will say, this is definitely a must stop for me whenever I'm in the city. I usually arrive in town late so it works perfectly for me to be able to get some quality food after hrs. I've been here about 5x. Ironically i always get the same area parking spot. The service is always top notch. My waiters have always been very welcoming and attentive. No matter how busy they were. It's not the biggest space but it is exactly what you would expect from neighborhood bar. Why come if u don't want to quarantine. The menu is not very big but it is very well balanced. Why did the girl cross the road (and the river and drive 10 miles)? Cause she was craving that amazing Gerber Chicken with roasted carrots and mash, and an app of the steamed mussels. But we arrived and were handed a crumpled paper menu that looked like Roosters had violated it. We were informed they opted to ditch their tried and loved classics- to be a more pedestrian, casual crowd friendly menu and end their elevated pub feel. Enjoy the road to mediocrity. I sure wish Yelp had half stars.... This trip in wasnt a four star but it also wasnt a three. It was more a 3.5/3.75 And if wasnt for the excellent server it would of been more a 2. Why? 1) Parking is a bit challenging. Grandview is super popular and this location doesnt have a dedicated lot, so you need to find street parking. We did a couple of loops and found some metered spaces. Came in. It was seat yourself. The inside was decorated nicely. Great AC. We chose to sit outside. 2) They need to invest in more umbrellas. Not every table had a dedicated umbrella so our location was toasty. Our server was Maggie. She had a great personality, that is what raised the trip from a 2 to a 3.5-3.75 due to her great personality I ordered a salmon entree. My son ordered the fish and chips. The salmon comes on top of orzo with roasted carrots and Brussel sprouts. It was supposed to have a salad of spinach and field greens. That was confusing as those were sautéed and mixed in with the orzo - not really a salad. That was disappointing. Then there was some type of vinegarette used. Way, way too much. Everything was doused in it and swimming in it. However the salmon was a great portion size and cooked nicely. Son's fish and chips were also disappointing. First the fries were served cold. They must of sat for a bit before they came to the table. He didnt eat them. I tasted them. They were definitely cold. The fish---the breading of the fish was nice and crunchy, good texture/flavor but usually fish and chips are a few pieces and this looked like a square filet that should of been a sandwich. So he asked for a bun and made it a sandwich. No problem, they were happy to oblige. However, after sitting in the sun with non umbrella we felt like the tartar sauce was turning. He tried to eat it but just wasnt agreeing with him. Leaving, we decided if we would ever return we would just get burgers or drinks. Since I dont eat burgers anymore, this is probably not the place for me We used to live in Grandview and 20- 15 yrs ago came here a lot. I do miss the old menu from those days: they had flaming cheese and grape leaves. This seems like its a complete different vibe and ownership. Things change. I get it. However Maggie... Second time to grandview cafe for brunch. Ordered the chefs omelet which had chicken, bell peppers and onions. When it arrived it was extremely bland and didn't taste or look like a typical omlette. Almost like the egg part was bought in from a store and the stuffing was leftover bits from the week. I mentioned this to the server and she said that the chefs typically underseason food to meet a variety of people's taste. Service was good. Attentive and helpful. Ambiance is a typical downtown bar. Love this place. I have been a long time regular here. It's funny, I even met my fiancé here, just didn't know it at the time. Between the two of us, we have had nearly everything on the menu. Everything is good here but they have THE BEST Cesar Salad in the city. Hands down! Perfect cut romaine, chunky provolone, fresh bacon bits and great Cesar dressing. On the menu we've had; Artichoke spinach dip (was Ok) Buffalo dip Chicken wrap Turkey club (they changed it, still good) Pizza French Onion Soup Muscles and fries Wings All the burgers Fish and chips (excellent) Gerber chicken (very good) and recently just had brunch; Chefs omelette Bacon Side of eggs French Toast Always good service. Always. Excellent patio out back! We just sat upstairs for the first time, it's very cute and a little different feel. They have trivia nights, the bar is great to sit at, and they have a great musical playlist! Whoever picks it's is good. Parking is across the street, behind by Round 2 or street for free. Visited on a Friday afternoon. This was my first visit to this restaurant. It is seat yourself. My friend and I opted to sit at the bar since there were no open tables. Bartender was friendly. Started off my order with a a beer. They have a good selection of domestic and craft beers. Since it was early in the day I opted for Barley's Brewing Blood Thirst Wheat. This beer is light and fruity. For my meal there were a couple options I considered. The club sandwich and blackened chicken wrap were the final contenders, and I went with the chicken wrap. I added sweet potato fries. Sides are a separate cost from the sandwiches. My sandwich arrived in little time, but my friend waited longer for a burger. The wrap was delicious. The flavors really popped. The sweet potato fries were just okay and not worth the extra expense. Overall the food, drinks and service were good. I may visit again to try the club sandwich. read more

Great spot for lunch! This is a favorite of our daughter, so we stopped in during a quick visit. We started with Balboa chips and Dip - served steaming hot in an iron skillet. So good! I had a Caesar and prosciutto salad with salmon / the crispy prosciutto added a little crunch and savory to the salad and the salmon was cooked perfectly. Hubs had the Diner burger with an egg added on ("I was planning on only eating half but it was so good I ate the whole thing"). And daughter had the blackened chicken wrap -- which she apparently orders all the time because she loves it so much! Our waitress was attentive. We came to Grandview cafe to try their brunch with a group of friends. The mimosa deal is $15 for a bottle w/ OJ. Pretty good! The drinks otherwise are a tad pricey for this type of place. The food was good! We split the wings with their white BBQ sauce which was phenomenal. I'm not sure what it was. Tasted like a creamy ranch and horseradish mix to me. I ordered a side ceaser but was not impressed. There were like two FLAKES of prosciutto. I wouldn't have cared, but it made the salad seems as if there was a little bit of protein in it if you didn't want to add meat as well, but you would definitely need to add meat as the two flake were very small. The service was friendly and our waitress helped us change the tv channels a couple of times to catch different games. I would come back for brunch when the patio is open! read more

Stopped in to Grandview Cafe on a Saturday before heading to the Ohio State game! It was fairly busy throughout but not so crazy you couldn't get a spot at the bar/table (small wait). The atmosphere was fun for a game day and they offer plenty of TVs which is nice! They also have a game day deals menu to order from and a brunch special on mimosas. Unfortunately they were out of many beers/cider and the flavor selection of seltzers was limited. I ordered their Apple Cider Spritz cocktail twice and the first time it was great, the second time it was a totally different drink and not so great. The service was also pretty slow and we frequently had to try and flag our waitress down to put in a new order (and when we would she'd talk to two people at our table and disappear). I know they were busy but it was so slow and infrequent it actually prevented me from ordering food. My friends got the chicken tenders and Gameday burger though and said they were great, and my past experiences/visits the food has always been decent!
