Had an amazing time at Opa's on a Saturday night. A little crowded but we got a table right at 5:30 pm. The beer and bourbon selection was excellent. I've never seen a bourbon wall like this before. And they had a 2nd bar upstairs if you just wanted a drink!! I got the Greek gyro and it was delicious, wow!! My spouse got the lamp chops and they were so good too. Really wanted to like this place. Best bourbon selection in the larger Columbus area. The food is good, kind of an odd pairing with high end bourbon, but it's good family fare. The service has been hit or miss. First time in the server kept going back to the kitchen to figure out the bourbon flight I picked. Not the biggest issue, but you'd think they'd be more prepared to handle bourbon requests. The second time I sat at the bar and waited ten minutes before leaving when nobody would serve me (place wasn't crowded, the two bartenders just ignored me). Last interaction was to reach out asking if they had a certain bottle in stock. I thought it was a harmless request, asking a bourbon bar if they planned on getting a certain bourbon. Stopped to see the "large bourbon collection" that people talked about!! We were blown away by the number of bourbons they had and the knowledge of our bartender, Brandi. My friend in Delaware recommend this place for both the Greek food, and the bourbon selection. Boyf and I went on a Sat. night, but early enough we got 2 of the remaining bar seats. The staff was great, especially the bartender, who was just the right level of snarky. I had the Perfect Manhattan (actually two). Boyf sampled bourbons he had never had before. We went on Wednesday nite for a late dinner. We aren't too familiar with Delaware's parking options and had a hard time, but we found a spot. This is a nice hip, relaxing place with outdoor seating. We sat inside and amazed at all the bourbon selection! The waiter was very engaging and discussed some. We got an appetizer and it was huge. There were three of us and it would have been enough for four. The drinks were good, and we had two rounds. Came here for the first time with friends. Food came out pretty fast. The gyros were good. But this pasta dish was absolutely terrifying. I have no idea how you could look at this dish and think "Yup, that looks great I'll serve that to a customer". The person who ordered it took a few bites and surrendered. THE WORST part was our waitress. Holy moly.. This lady was extremely rude. We had 6 people at the table. 3 couples. So we wanted 3 separate check. Rocket science right? This waitress said "that's not easy to do" and insisted we paid on one check..she was extremely frustrated that we were asking a simple request. We still tipped her very well in the end. Then she brought the 4 gentlemen their appetizer and literally put her back slightly towards us without any acknowledgement. For starters I want to say that the staff was absolutely amazing! We came in and it was super quite and my kids had a full blow melt down. (Couldn't sit at a high top because of other child needing a high chair) not only was our waitress super kind and giving us time and being so quite and polite. I stopped in OPA Grill on Saturday in the middle of the afternoon for a late lunch. The place was not very busy, but not empty, with a couple of tables and half-a-dozen drinkers at the bar. We were seated quickly, but after that the service declined. My wife asked for a water and I ordered a draft beer. Her water came fast, but my beer took 15 minutes and was not very cold. we gave our server our order when she brought my drink because we wanted to get things moving. She took it, but seemed annoyed. Our food arrived after another wait, and our server left the check at the same time which we found a bit pushy. My wife asked for her water to be refilled, but that never happened. I ordered the spicy chicken argos with sweet potato fries. It wasn't spicy, but it was oily, and was just dumped on top of a small pile of rice and another pile of hummus. Everything ended up all mixed together as one big mess. The fries were good, but not vet hot. My wife ordered the felafel platter. She said that the falafel was good, and the salad looked fresh, but her regular fries were cold. Then she asked the server for a side of hummus - who serves felafel and pita without hummus? The waitress looked totally annoyed again, and stopped back over with the hummus and a revised check. I was considering another beer and perhaps a shared desert, but after that happened we were done. We finished up and I looked at the check to find an additional meal on it. I asked her to take it off, and rather than apologize, she gave us attitude about how busy she was. The extra meal belonged to the next table, so back to the computer to create two new checks - very efficient. Adding to the poor service - which I understand can happen at any place on occasion - the food was less than great, and the place could have been cleaner. I had the falafel pita. It's about $7 for only the pita. The pita comes with hummus, mostly lettuce, and with a few onions. It only had three falafel. That is ridiculously skimpy for a pita. It tasted okay but it wasn't anything great. The fries are the best side. It's about $10 for a combo. They also have a happy hour. It has some deals on the food. The bar service is kind of slow. It was pretty empty for lunch. They might get busier later. It has typical greasy fast Greek food. It's cheaper than classier places, but it also tastes cheaper. Always enjoy Opa's! I'm a huge fan of the chicken kopanisti gyro, but everything I've tried is really good. I've been coming for years and have never had a bad meal. The dipping sauce that comes with the fried pickles is wonderful. The owner is extremely friendly and welcoming and always makes an effort to come say hi for a couple of minutes.
