We arrived fairly close to closing, which can sometimes be risky--some restaurants start cutting corners as the night winds down. Not here. Going to Brassica always makes me laugh because of how little their employees are trained to put in your bowl. They'll grab a tong full of 5 carrots and shake out 2. I'm picturing a handbook where they are told to give no more than a tablespoon of each topping. Last time I went they gave me approximately that much sauce, barely enough to cover the falafel. I love that you can build it yourself and always recommend getting naan on the side. I'd definitely check this place out if you're a fan of Mediterranean food. They even had hot fries which was a nice surprise. I think they're even starting to serve margaritas at some locations, so I'll definitely be back to try those. How many fast food or fast casual Mediterranean spots are there? Tons. But this was right up there with the best of them. A charming brick location in a hip area, this place was steadily busy. The options were many, and the execution of the fast casual concept was excellent; no extra charge for loading up on toppings, but they are categorized so you're picking from a set of pickled vegetables, a set of fresh vegetables, a set of spreads; this "chunking" (in psychology terms) prevents analysis paralysis and makes ordering easy. The result was immensely appealing both in appearance and in taste. I got a fantastic mix of flavors and a nice balanced meal with greens and grains. Every bite was different, and the from the hearty falafel to the lightly charred pita and everything in between, quality was top notch. Ordering fries got me a fresh batch brought to me when they were ready. And it came in at a very reasonable price. Think Cava or Chipotle, but Mediterranean. I built a salad bowl and went half chicken, half brisket (because why choose?) and loaded it up with all the toppings. Every bite was fresh, flavorful, and honestly way better than I expected for a grab-and-go type of place. The brisket especially was super tender and seasoned perfectly. "LAS CUCARACHAS!!" -Lengthy review May 27th, 2025 around 8:30pm So let's start with the good: Great ambience, food bar is well organized and appeasing to the eye, friendly young staff members--they even made suggestions on what to purchase based on popularity. Plenty of seating and an outside patio just behind the restaurant. Okay, the not-so good: As I'm approaching the register, I see a stack of chocolate chip cookies... and what else? A roach crawling up the side of them. Stunned by it but not wanting to cause a scene, I guide the staff member's eyes towards thier six-legged friend. She then proceeds to the kitchen to alert others about my discovery. What made the situation unsettling was that everyone stood in disbelief and didn't take any immediate action. She returns with a napkin to throw the cookies away while one grabs the roach and another coworker walks up to the register. As the new staff member is about to ring me up, which I found appauling given what just happened, that's when I saw a SECOND ROACH heading towards my order. I had to call the manager over myself, away from approaching customers. Once I brought it to his attention, the manager did offer an incentive to come back, which I appreciated. He also explained a reason for the infestation would be renovations above the restaurant. It showed some level of accountability, even if the initial response lacked urgency. I'm hoping management takes this seriously and that my next visit [pending] will reflect better cleanliness and attentiveness from the team. This place has 4+ stars. read more

But with fresh steaming pita directly out the oven, flavor packed and authentic-tasting roasted veggies, hummus, and dips to customize - it's easier to overlook that. The falafel is incredible, and comparable to some really fancy falafel I've tried at nice Mediterranean restaurants over the years. The sauces are addictive, and I found myself having a hard time picking a favorite between the baba ghanoush, hummus, sauces, roasted veggies, and all the other fillings that balance addictiveness and wholesome/healthy ingredients. I got a little scared because someone said this place was like Chipotle meets Mediterranean food. Chipotle sucks now a days, so I didn't know if the quality of food would be at Chipotle level or if it was just the order process that was similar. Luckily, the food here is leagues above Chipotle, even when it didn't suck. The similarities between this place, Subway, and Chipotle are just the ordering process. Every element in my sandwich was elevated above what I normally get in a pita sandwich. The baba ghanoush was super smokey and creamy. The pickled cabbage was sweet and tangy. The cucumbers and radishes were tasty. The crispy caulilflower and jalapeños were dope. The chicken and sauce were obviously good, but these other elements really blew me away. Lemonade, fries, and chocolate chip cookie were delicious as well. And my wife's salad was great. Throwing lentils in to the salad to pack some protein in is genius. I resisted the urge to get the marinated eggplant as my sandwich was stuffed full of so much stuff, but when I tried a bite of my wife's, I immediately regretted it. I don't live in Columbus, but I am really jealous after eating here that we don't have one of these in Madison, WI. Fingers crossed that miraculously happens. read more

Very very delicious, healthy and fresh fast casual Mediterranean influenced meal at a fair price in a swanky looking venue on N High Street ! The previously posted high marks and reviews posted on Yelp and other platforms is what got me to seek out this location and establishment for a late afternoon lunch while I was wandering around Columbus after a work meeting. I'm from the Bay Area, unfamiliar with the city and I managed to find this EXCELLENT restaurant and had a very satisfying meal here today. I ordered a salad bowl, added the flavorful brisket and essentially everything offered out of the roasted and fresh veggies - highlighted by the babaganoush and the roasted carrots and cauliflower, had them add the house dressing sparingly and by the time the helpful young woman helping me was done walking me through all the wonderful options to add to my meal - I was handed a nicely orchestrated bowl of warm and roasted happiness for under twenty bucks and she was even kind enough to give me one of the chocolate tahini cookies. Great place, great meal and the manager, Max, even came by to check in my me and we had a lovely discussion about the restaurant itself, their local expansion and other nearby affiliated restaurants to consider for dinner and his genuine love and enthusiasm for the owners of this establishment! Exactly the kind of manager most places would benefit from !! He's a keeper IMHO Brassica management ! Great staff, delicious healthy food and a beautiful setting. This review is specifically for the Short North location because this is the only location that caters. Love the food so wanted to have Brassica for my son's OSU graduation on Mother's day last week for 20-25 ppl. Several days prior, we scheduled for delivery at 6:45pm on 5/10/26 and at 5:45pm they called and said they ran out of chicken. WHAT? How is food quantity not planned in advance? This has never happened to us with any other catering restaurants. Brassica Short North ruined the whole evening. It was so late to cater from elsewhere, we had to order pizza for our guests. We were so embarrassed and frustrated. They offered to send the veggies and pita and I told them I don't want it. I came in here for lunch. Brassica has such beautiful rustic looking decor from Edison bulbs, wooden tables and iron made chairs. It has large windows for you to people watch or comfy booths for you to sit in. The two ladies working there were very nice. It's kind of like a fancy, pick as you go on your plate, Mediterranean style The food was excellent. The quality of their meats, their veggies, sauces and sides were very delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food. I was nervous that I was running out of time for lunch, but this place was absolutely perfect to grab, and go or dine in quickly.
