Brassica is one of my absolute favorite fast casual restaurants in the Columbus area. I'd say it's like a tastier, higher quality chipotle that offers unique flavors with a cool ambiance. I love that you can build it yourself and always recommend getting naan on the side. I'd definitely check this place out if you're a fan of Mediterranean food. I somehow missed this on prior trips to Columbus, and I think when it popped up in my search I just didn't believe it was going to be anything special. How many fast food or fast casual Mediterranean spots are there? Tons. But this was right up there with the best of them. A charming brick location in a hip area, this place was steadily busy. The options were many, and the execution of the fast casual concept was excellent; no extra charge for loading up on toppings, but they are categorized so you're picking from a set of pickled vegetables, a set of fresh vegetables, a set of spreads; this "chunking" (in psychology terms) prevents analysis paralysis and makes ordering easy. The result was immensely appealing both in appearance and in taste. I got a fantastic mix of flavors and a nice balanced meal with greens and grains. Every bite was different, and the from the hearty falafel to the lightly charred pita and everything in between, quality was top notch. Ordering fries got me a fresh batch brought to me when they were ready. And it came in at a very reasonable price. "LAS CUCARACHAS!!" -Lengthy review May 27th, 2025 around 8:30pm So let's start with the good: Great ambience, food bar is well organized and appeasing to the eye, friendly young staff members--they even made suggestions on what to purchase based on popularity. Plenty of seating and an outside patio just behind the restaurant. Okay, the not-so good: As I'm approaching the register, I see a stack of chocolate chip cookies... and what else? A roach crawling up the side of them. Stunned by it but not wanting to cause a scene, I guide the staff member's eyes towards thier six-legged friend. She then proceeds to the kitchen to alert others about my discovery. What made the situation unsettling was that everyone stood in disbelief and didn't take any immediate action. She returns with a napkin to throw the cookies away while one grabs the roach and another coworker walks up to the register. As the new staff member is about to ring me up, which I found appauling given what just happened, that's when I saw a SECOND ROACH heading towards my order. I had to call the manager over myself, away from approaching customers. Once I brought it to his attention, the manager did offer an incentive to come back, which I appreciated. He also explained a reason for the infestation would be renovations above the restaurant. It showed some level of accountability, even if the initial response lacked urgency. I'm hoping management takes this seriously and that my next visit [pending] will reflect better cleanliness and attentiveness from the team. This place has 4+ stars. read more

Was visiting town and this was one of the restaurants that really stuck with me. It's healthy, filling, a great value, and incredibly delicious especially for a local chain. I will definitely be seeking out this whenever I am in Columbus or wherever this pops up. The service is a bit slow, at least at this particular location. But with fresh steaming pita directly out the oven, flavor packed and authentic-tasting roasted veggies, hummus, and dips to customize - it's easier to overlook that. The falafel is incredible, and comparable to some really fancy falafel I've tried at nice Mediterranean restaurants over the years. The sauces are addictive, and I found myself having a hard time picking a favorite between the baba ghanoush, hummus, sauces, roasted veggies, and all the other fillings that balance addictiveness and wholesome/healthy ingredients. This is like a higher end Chipotle, but for pita sandwiches. And way better and higher quality. Wish we had this where I lived. read more

I got a little scared because someone said this place was like Chipotle meets Mediterranean food. Chipotle sucks now a days, so I didn't know if the quality of food would be at Chipotle level or if it was just the order process that was similar. Luckily, the food here is leagues above Chipotle, even when it didn't suck. The similarities between this place, Subway, and Chipotle are just the ordering process. Every element in my sandwich was elevated above what I normally get in a pita sandwich. The baba ghanoush was super smokey and creamy. The pickled cabbage was sweet and tangy. The cucumbers and radishes were tasty. The crispy caulilflower and jalapeños were dope. The chicken and sauce were obviously good, but these other elements really blew me away. Lemonade, fries, and chocolate chip cookie were delicious as well. And my wife's salad was great. Throwing lentils in to the salad to pack some protein in is genius. I resisted the urge to get the marinated eggplant as my sandwich was stuffed full of so much stuff, but when I tried a bite of my wife's, I immediately regretted it. The previously posted high marks and reviews posted on Yelp and other platforms is what got me to seek out this location and establishment for a late afternoon lunch while I was wandering around Columbus after a work meeting. I'm from the Bay Area, unfamiliar with the city and I managed to find this EXCELLENT restaurant and had a very satisfying meal here today. I ordered a salad bowl, added the flavorful brisket and essentially everything offered out of the roasted and fresh veggies - highlighted by the babaganoush and the roasted carrots and cauliflower, had them add the house dressing sparingly and by the time the helpful young woman helping me was done walking me through all the wonderful options to add to my meal - I was handed a nicely orchestrated bowl of warm and roasted happiness for under twenty bucks and she was even kind enough to give me one of the chocolate tahini cookies. Great place, great meal and the manager, Max, even came by to check in my me and we had a lovely discussion about the restaurant itself, their local expansion and other nearby affiliated restaurants to consider for dinner and his genuine love and enthusiasm for the owners of this establishment! Exactly the kind of manager most places would benefit from !! He's a keeper IMHO Brassica management ! Great staff, delicious healthy food and a beautiful setting. (likely due to lunch rush hour) The staff were all patient and friendly. It's a build-your-own assembly line style and you pay at the end. I chose the Pita Sandwich with Chicken and various vegetables. I asked for a side of beets and so glad I did. They're perfectly pickled. The Brassica fries are also very well seasoned and the "special sauce" on the side adds a complimentary touch to bring all the flavors together. If there's a line out the door, order online, it's about 10 mins, u can walk past the line and go to check out and your food will be ready after 10 minutes. Conveniently located on N High St in the Short North area of Columbus, this restaurant is a Mediterranean fast casual spot that serves up sandwiches or salads that you can customize to your liking. I am glad that (compared to other recent reviews) the glazed lamb bacon is back for this location only, so in a heartbeat, I opted to try that in a sandwich, customizing with the hummus, house sauce, and some vegetables. I also tried the Brassica fries and falafel, both of which were excellent. Normally fries cost quite a lot but this one was only $2.90 for a sizable portion, served up with their house sauce. They even made it fresh to order. Falafel is 4 pieces for $3.90 so standard pricing, and it was not too dry. Dip it with the house sauce - thank me later. The sandwich is a pita sandwich and is soft and warm. While at first glance the server puts few ingredients in, there are actually a lot of ingredients, perhaps the illusion. I really loved the glazed lamb bacon as it was slightly sweet but still carried forth the lamb taste. I was very stuffed after the sandwich, and getting the fries and falafel locked in enough food for the rest of the day. The servers were friendly and respectful--maybe a weird word to use but I really felt the two gentlemen working this this night were great -- making eye contact, explaining the foods, making sure you had what you needed. There were two of us for dinner on a Thursday night. Both got hummus bowls, one with chicken (very very tasty, great spices) and one with brisket (love!). Some cukes and radishes, along with house sauce (nice garlicky tang). We also ordered fries - made as you order them, so wonderfully fresh and hot. Served with a pita. Excellent!
