HUGE seating space! They have room! All the windows, too, letting in all the sunshine. This was my first stop after seeing them pop up while searching for lunch. I opted for Tawouk - a seasoned chicken wrap, served with fries, pickles, and a drink (strawberry passionfruit). Tried it spicy - it's a sneaky heat that hit after I was done, but still dry and not too spicy (for me, if you're spicy adverse, don't do it!) I could eat that chicken all day long. It's seasoned so well, that I just wanted MORE. AND you see the racks of the chicken in the kitchen, over the flame! I have no idea how to explain the sauces - savory, not sweet was another reviewer's words and I agree. Put some on the wrap, some on fries, it all goes together. I dig it. It IS a little pricey - but I left full, and craving more of that chicken, that'll bring me back. read more

I stopped in for a late lunch/ early dinner on a weekday. It was not very crowded. I had never been in before so I was browsing the menu. The guys behind the counter did not offer any help & seemed annoyed when I asked questions. I ended up ordering a tawouk sandwich meal for $21 & a mixed grill meal for $28. The sandwich chicken was dry even with the sauce. They put the chicken, sauces, pickles & fries inside your lavish & grill it. We could not tell the flavor of the pink sauce? The orange sauce was a bit spicy and the white was garlicy toum which I liked the best. The fries are just battered restaurant wholesale fries- nothing special. I actually would have preferred rice. The mixed grill was tasty, but again dry and for $28 you didn't get much. The mango & strawberry drinks were good. They also add a service fee if paying by credit card. I thought this place was going to be the bomb! There is better Lebanese food in town, especially for the price. I don't think I'll be back. read more

I ended waiting the same amount of time maybe more for my meal bc there were lots of people working the kitchen and grill but only 1 person working the register and preparing the orders. Overall i was very full and honestly this meal can be shared for 2 people. A bit pricey but I think cheaper isnt always better. Nice atmosphere. Very clean. Helpful toward customers. Imo the chicken lacked flavor it was ok but not memorable. I expected more flavor and more char. I wouldnt go out of my way like I did this morning to drive there. But If im in the area again Id give it another try. Do not recommend going when they first open. Garlic sauce was solid and the pink sauce was ok. I did not try the spicy sauce. Mango drink was cool. The food was incredible and so was the service but it took a minute to prepare. Also the music was so loud I couldn't hear myself think, so it's not a place I would return to for a casual lunch. Not sure why they seemed so bothered with me and my family choosing their establishment to eat (We saw it on TikTok and was so excited to try it) but $100 later, not sure if we will ever return. I wish I could be more positive BUT after waiting about 20 minutes (at a fast casual restaurant?) the sandwich was lukewarm warm at best although the French fries were hot and tasty. I was very surprised that they did not serve any sugar free beverages. The pita was well toasted but the sandwich for me lacked the flavor I expected. This place has some delicious food. You place your order at the counter and they cook the food right in front of you. It did take about 10 minutes for the food to be prepared/cooked, buts it's definitely worth the wait. At Farooj Abo Al Abed, nothing is pre-cooked, reheated, or microwaved. Every protein starts raw, fresh, and goes straight to the charcoal. That means your order may take a little longer--but that's the secret behind the flavor. Think of it like your own backyard BBQ , except @aboalabed.ohio does the grilling, the flipping, the seasoning , and the saucing!!! Trust me..... This stuff is DELICIOUS . This is the first USA location for what is supposedly a Middle Eastern hotspot (they have 66 locations in several countries). They are so popular that even without a Google profile and barely a webpage, their lines are out of the door. We ourselves waited 90 minutes (dumb, I know, but FOMO) to just order our food (which did arrive within 15 minutes of ordering). The restaurant is very new and they are still working out their kinks, so give them time and bring a lot of patience if you are going there soon-ish. That said, my signature spicy chicken wrap was fresh, however the fries were stale. They have some unique drinks (similar to those at Al-Manakeesh), and some appetizers that I am unfamiliar with, but want to try the next time I go there. read more

There was so much hype in this place, so we had to go and check it out ourselves. We waited more than an hour to order food. The line to place order was literally out of the restaurant. They have few good tables, but since they're packed, good luck on grabbing a table (first come first grab.) When we finally were able to order, I ordered the spicy chicken wrap and fires were stale. I waited another 1/2 hour to get my food. The wrap tasted ok, but the fires tasted stale. I keep hearing that the line is so long because the food is made to order. Well, my fries did not taste fresh. It was just stale fries. For me, it is not worth for me to go back with the long lines to order and get my food, especially when the good is just "ok." read more

I honestly thought the place had JUST barely opened, it was such a chaotic mess, but looking on reviews here, they've been open for at least 9+ months, which killed the forbearance/ pity I had been feeling. It smelled amazing, so that's a good start, and the dining area is spacious, gorgeously decorated, and clean. Confusing Ordering Walking in, you do end up confused on where to go and what the protocol is. They've taken over the location of a failed build-your-own Chipotle/Piada style restaurant, so there is a long counter with prep work behind it, ending in a register. You are NOT supposed to order at the start of this counter and then watch them assemble your food as you travel along it, and then pay. You are supposed to go straight to order at the register, then take your buzzer to a table to wait for your food. While the register staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English, the transaction felt rushed and like he did not ask questions he should be asking (such as "what drink?" or "what do want on that?") Overpriced/ Mismatch They honestly need to seal the kitchen off with a wall and just switch to a full service restaurant. At this price point (Wound up paying $26+ for a single combo meal) and these wait times, (23 minutes from order to receiving my food) no one wants counter service. The dining space is already pretty enough to seem incongruent with a fast service restaurant. They also emphasize large platter meals, which would also be better as a full service restaurant. They had an oddly high number of employees just hanging around the back, so it would be easy. Most of their business appears to be takeout, likely because of the long wait times. Poorly written menu The menu does that infuriating thing of 1) not describing the food to explain it, and 2) not listing everything that is included. For example, it just says "Mixed Grill" with a picture. Mixed grill of what? And how much am I getting? The picture shows sides, what are the sides? Can I pick the sides? Or "Meat Kabab Meal", no further explanation. Or "Abo Al Abed Bucket, small or large". Zero explanation on what is in this bucket. What is an Aboodi? Does anyone even know? I did end up throwing my wrap away after a bite because it came covered in a creamy sauce that was not listed or mentioned anywhere. Surprise ingredients are not a fun thing. Chaos So, the fire alarm appeared to be on the entire time. Or some sort of shrill, steady tone that no one shut off. The back kitchen door was open, I presume to handle the smoke from their charcoal grills, and it seemed like there were way too many employees, all hanging out outside the back door. They also, for reasons unbeknownst to logic, decided that the Friday night dinner rush was the absolute perfect time to be filming to promotional shots of the food, which they did in the dining room, at the table directly in front of the register, meaning all of their gear, people, wires, giant lights etc. blocked the only way to order. I did see a customer trip on the cords and nearly biff it. They kept dumping the food out and then putting it back in the bucket for a redo shot, and it was very gross. Missing things The fries were hot and crispy, but completely saltless, and I was not given any napkins, nor was there anyplace to get one. I do whish I had had the option to get rice instead of fries. I was pleasantly surprised to learn my meal came with a drink and that I could pick from a wide variety of middle eastern canned pop I had never seen before. But the pop was room temperature, even straight out of the fridge. Verdict: I don't think they're going to last very long unless they adjust to local customers' taste and expectations. Get take out if you get anything here, and ask a ton of questions about what is included. Also, they charge a fee for using your debit card (which is illegal and tends to piss people off. Service fees for credit cards are legal, debit cards are a no-no) So use cash if possible. read more

The food here is so good. First time I went with my husband we got $80 worth of food. It was a lot and it was delicious. This time I went with a friend and we got the Aboodi cup. There wasn't a ton of protein, and more fries. I would still reccomend. read more

Tried their signature chicken which is grilled chicken in a thin pita like wrap. You can see them grilling the chicken kebab style and the meat is tender and smoky. Even though there is chicken in every bite, I feel the price is steep for a chicken wrap. read more

I went their for lunch it was not too busy at that time. But it took a long time to get my food. The service was great though. They manager gave me a few extra items for my wait. The sandwich is a decent size it tastes really good. I will say I was intrigued by the pink sauce. Because of its color I thought it would taste a little sweet, but it is more on the savory side. We had an absolutely amazing experience at this new Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurant! The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was outstanding from start to finish. The pink sauce deserves its own shoutout -- truly exceptional. They were kind enough to let us sample a lamb shoulder that wasn't even on the menu, and my husband said it was the best lamb he's ever had. The chicken tawook meal was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the eggplant appetizer was insanely good. Even the little details impressed us -- the French fries were delicious and the mango juice was amazing and refreshing. Clean inside, no issues at all. The signature chicken/musahub ($12.99) is delicious! Very very flavorful and filling. The sauces used inside added great taste and avoided a dry sandwich. Unfortunately, since I did an online order, I did not realize that the pink sauce is a separate cost, so did not order it. It was always advertised in their videos with the sandwich, so I thought they came together. Seeing the menu now, the sauce costs $1.50 on its own. That is crazy! Most restaurants give you at least one sauce and charge $0.50 for additional. The place is very pricey overall for the menu items. A meal including a sandwich with fries and drink is $20.99. I cannot see any way to justify an additional $8 for just fries and a drink, since the sandwich a la carte is $12.99. I also ordered a kid's meal for $13.99! It had a juice box, way too many fries, 6 chicken nuggets, and a toy. The toy did not win over my son. I found this to be very overpriced as well. Kid's meals are usually meant to be priced lower due to a smaller amount of food, so unsure why the price was so high. I only ordered because my son had not yet eaten and thought it would be a nice toy for the price. The dollar store type toy did not justify an additional $5+ to the meal. Overall, I would get the musahub again, but would avoid the mediocre fries and anything else really, because way too pricey for the style of food. read more

Went with some friends the other day. The place was brightly lit and very clean. We ordered at the counter and I got a chicken kabab meal with fries and a drink. For a some up charge you can get lemonade and other special drinks which some of my friends did and love it. We found a seat and only had a short wait for our food. I was impressed with the portions and the huge amount of fries! The food was absolutely delicious- fresh -and full of flavor! You can tell the owners take a great deal of pride in the place and came around to check in on us and even offered us free tabbouleh, which was the not only do kind but also delicious. We came here a little before they opened, waited, were a little late opening.... but did they make up for it. Since this was our first time, we ordered more than we could eat - this is our go. We ordered Musahub (signature chicken) and Tawouk meals (with fries). They put the sauces IN your meal and additionally on the side to allow to dipping. Since it was our first time, we were gifted a tabouleh - how nice! As others have mentioned, the food does take some time to get to you. The staff were forever moving - prepping for they day - cooking, chopping, stocking, etc. So, I think the cooking style is different from what we as a society are used to.... with that, this may not be the best choice if you're in a hurry/have a time restrictions. On to the food - both were ordered as meals - which includes a sandwich (actually a wrap), fries, sauce, pickled veggies, and a soft drink - you can upgrade to a fountain juice or tea if you'd like. I was a little concerned with the pink sauce (if anyone was on TikTok a few years ago, you KNOW why); despite the color, this is a savory sauce. The Tawouk comes with fries in the wrap, I prefer it without. The flavor profile for both was amazing - a symphony on your tongue. Everything was so fresh!!! The food was fresh and cooked well, but the flavor fell short--I was hoping for a stronger, more seasoned taste. The dragonfruit strawberry drink was actually pretty tasty, though. One of the best restaurants and our favorite in all of Columbus. Incredible food, very fresh and tons of flavor. The half chicken deal is great for splitting between my fiancé and I. The hummus is great, the tawouk is great, all the sauces are awesome and the fries are incredible. Literally not one bad thing on the whole menu and the staff is incredible. Tamara is the best. Went to this place to have lunch with my bestie. We ordered two chicken wraps with fries and the fountain drink. Nothing extra. The price same up to $50 dollars!!! That was absolutely insane. I already ordered so I paid the total. Sat down and waited for our food to come out. The food was just not good. First the fries were thick crinkle cut, which was not what was advertised on the menu. The menu displayed regular fries. The fries were not even hot as they were just sitting there under a heating lamp. They were not edible ans we threw them away. The Schwarma was terribly dry with no seasoning. The pink sauce is garlic sauce with a little beets in it for color. It was okay but nothing to write home about, too salty for my liking. The only thing that was good was the strawberry and mango fountain drink. The decor was decent, adequate seating. Chairs pretty standard no issue. I just would never return. There are way too many better tasting schwarma spots in Columbus with better pricing. I will not go back that live for that quality of food is absurd. The food was great! The only issue was I ordered three wrap sandwiches and felt like they needed to include more of their sauces. I had three small containers of sauce and feel like it was not enough. Overall, the flavors of the wraps were wonderful. I did not get the fries and drink option as I was not at all interested in that. I think I paid $15 for each wrap and felt it was a fair price.
