Our first visit to Joya's was actually Plan B after discovering another restaurant we planned to visit wasn't open on Tuesdays. Plan B worked out pretty well! We told the woman at the register that it was our first visit, and she was very helpful. She told us the Joya's Breakfast Sandwich was their most popular sandwich, so we both ordered one. It comes on a pav-tato roll with bacon, cheesy eggs, chutneys and chives. I thought it was excellent. It has a distinctive flavor and a little bit of a kick. Cindy noticed the heat more than I did, but she really liked the sandwich and especially loved the pav-tato roll. Everything tasted fresh, the portion size was great for brunch, and we both finished the whole thing. I had the Rose Mocha. The rose was pretty subtle to me, but it was a very good mocha regardless. Cindy had coffee and said it was excellent. Joya's is small and cozy, and it stayed busy during our visit around 11 AM. There were usually three or four people in line at the register, but service was quick. Our drinks arrived within a couple of minutes and the sandwiches in about 5-7 minutes. I also got a kick out of the self-serve water station: sparkling H2O is "fancy water," iced H2O is "cold water, very sad," and ambient H2O is "just water, kinda mid." Little touches like that give the place personality. The prices may be a little more than some places, but the portions were good, everything tasted fresh, and the quality made it feel worthwhile. Stunned!! Have been meaning to try out Joya's for a long time, and finally got around to it. We had a bit of a wait, but for how busy it was, they are quite efficient! One of the servers came around with samples of their new drink, which was Oaxacan inspired tea and such a phenomenal first experience. I could have had a gallon of the drink! I ordered the Kati Roll and the chicken sandwich for my husband to go. The Kati roll is the best savory meal I've had in months! The first bite made my eyes go round with how flavorful it was. It had a bit of sweetness that balanced with the other flavors so beautifully. The chicken sandwich was also a 10/10 from my husband, despite being eaten an hour after ordering. Though, if we had to pick one, we'd say the Kati roll would win. We were seated almost immediately after ordering. Despite how busy it was, it didn't feel over-crowded. They told us about 45 min for our food, since they were so busy and backed up, but our food arrived not even 20 minutes later. Also, everyone we interacted with was so kind and pleasant! 09/13/26: Today was my first time at Joya's and it was well worth the wait!! Food: 10/10 ! We ordered two Kathi Rolls, one Bengali Chap Cheese, two Cafe de Ollas, one Egg Chop, one crispy treat, and one carrot oatmeal cookie. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! The flavors were not overpowering and we could tell the recipe and combination of the flavors were well thought out!! Ambience: it's a cute cafe - very inviting atmosphere although a little small. Service: incredible! The line outside was long and it was a hot day - one of the wait staff came out to give us free samples of one of their drinks. They also have an outside cold water station. The staff were very informative and helpful with the menu, and were on top of their game with bringing food out and cleaning tables along with maintaining friendly vibe! Kept hearing great things about this place, and it doesn't seem to be just hype. But the limited hours and location kept me away- it's just not handy for me. And when I did happen to be nearby it was always packed. Today I got there at 1030 on a weekday, and while it was half-full inside and out there was no line. Service was excellent start to finish, with several people checking on me at various points. I got the kathi roll and a milk tea. Came up pretty quick. The milk tea was good, fairly subtle, a good accompaniment to food and refreshing on a hot day. The kathi roll was outstanding. Smelled great, tasted great, looked great. Plenty for me at lunch. A nice blend of flavors and textures; I looked forward to each bite, and each was a little different. Meat, onions, sauce, and more. Yum! Wrapped nicely and, though a bit soft towards the end, not messy. There are a lot of other things I want to try. Price is reasonable for the quantity and quality. Atmosphere is great, inside and out. One minor complaint: the bar stools aren't comfy, and could use a foot rest along the bar. There's one on the stool itself but it's awkward; I just used the empty stool next to me to rest a foot. There are several tables inside and out, lots of light, and nice decor. Street parking was a little busy, again late morning on a weekday- fairly typical for Worthington. I found a spot in front of the church, and there are city lots nearby. Somehow in a cell service deadzone for me, but CoHatch is right next door and has wifi... I wish this would have been a 5 star review (which I hardly give) because I like having something so different as an option. The pros: -food came out fast -interesting & fun flavors -you have to order first to be able to get a table outside - great vibes & atmosphere -the patio sitting -really like the long counter sitting option -beautiful bathroom w/ thoughtful accommodations -the guy at the counter w/ lip piercings was friendly & had recommendations, but some of the other staff came off as less friendly & overall they're all young. The cons: -it's a bit expensive for what it is -the cocktail was lacking all the flavors it mentioned (& a bit on the weak side) -they don't have their real menu up online to see what they offer (almost half the menu is missing) -not a patio that you can enjoy taking a while on (there is high demand for those tables & there are people that will stand outside waiting for you to get up which was uncomfortable). Saw the chef who owns this restaurant on the Food Network TV show 24 in 24. It seems like there is always a line around the corner but don't be too intimidated. It does go fast (15-20mins). It does seem like most people are ordering the drinks or togo. They have this fermented chai which I did not try but the sweet chai was great. Ordering was quick at the register and they were able to seat us inside. The food also came out relatively fast. Please note on Saturdays during the summer. The farmers market is going on from 8am to 12pm and it is very busy in the area. Parking is going to be 3-4 blocks away. The restaurant is also located in what I would call the downtown shopping market area of Worthington so it is already pretty bustling! The food was delicious and innovative. The tacos had a great crisp, and the cheese was super flavorful. They is also was a sweetness in the meat. The breakfast sandwich had very soft texture and some sweetness. Wow, the food here is absolutely amazing!! The space is small and the lines are long. After ordering, i think it took about 30 minutes for my order to be ready. The prices are a little steep but for the quality of food, i would still come back probably. I wish there was online ordering to mitigate the wait, especially with a baby. We ordered the Bobby's Breakfast Sandwich and the Kati Roll. The flavors meld so beautifully together and just makes you want to keep coming back for more. Saw this place on Triple D, so had to give it a try. Came in on a Thursday at noon. Heard the place is small and often has a line out the door. Biggest problem was finding parking. Drove through several lots with others prowling as well. Ended up finding street parking right in front of of the joint. Line was not out the door, which was delightful since it was only 4 degrees out, but my butt was just inside right up against the door. By the time I got to place my order, a spot opened at the counter to enjoy the meal. This place is as much of a coffee house as it is a restaurant. I saw 4 taps and was hoping for an IPA, but they were for coffee and teas. Got a Diet Coke instead. Had the Smashburger and the fried rice to take out. The burger was one of the most awesome burgers I have ever had. I don't know what they put in it, but it was just downright delicious. I cannot say enough good about this restaurant. I stopped here for coffee a few days ago and I have to say, its my favorite place to get a cup of coffee. It is just so smooth and creamy. Delicious. After hearing many amazing things about Joya's, my friends and I decided to check this place out for brunch. When we entered, there was a long line where you order and pay for your food. They will give you a table card number and bring the food out to you. I decided to get the SamBurger, their take on a cheeseburger, and a Thai Tea. The Thai Tea was pretty standard and tasted great. I thought that the SamBurger was alright, as I thought it tasted like a regular cheeseburger with a little kick. Worth the wait! The staff work efficiently to get through the lines that form around busy hours. Recently announced they are open until 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We've visited Joya's several times, and once we figured out our go-to orders, the food has been consistently excellent. Some popular items didn't totally hit the mark for us: the Joya's Fried Rice--a huge hit with our friends--was just okay, and the chicken pieces felt pretty average. The double crunch tacos were good, but nothing to write home about. On the other hand, the Joya's Breakfast Sandwich was a solid choice for me, and my daughter absolutely loved it. For brunch today I decided to check out Joya's. It is located on a cute strip of business in downtown Worthington. I visited Joya's on a particularly nice day so I was happy to see they had a handful of tables set up to dine outside. Inside you place your order at a counter and a server brings it out to you. The lady working the counter was friendly and complimented my shirt (good way to get a bigger tip from me lol.) I ordered the breakfast sandwich and a regular coffee. The coffee and water were both self served. I found the coffee pretty tasty. The breakfast sandwich came out surprisingly fast. The sandwich came with Pav-tato roll, bacon, cheesy eggs, chutneys, and chives. The egg was nice and fluffy and the bread tasted very fresh. The bacon really added to the sandwich as well. My only gripe is I would have liked a tad more of the spread on the sandwich. Overall it was quite nice. I also appreciated when I was ready to leave a woman behind the counter offered me a to-go cup for more coffee without me even having to ask. With the weather being so nice lately, luckily we got some outdoor street seating, which was a treat. They have lots of options including burgers, wings, sandwiches, rice, and noodles, with an Asian twist of course. I'm a big fan of flat rice noodles so the Kway Teow Danny immediately caught my eye. It had a nice smoky flavor and lots of grilled veggies, chicken, and chunks of pork, topped with a poached egg. It was served with two spicy extras, including sliced red chilis and a red chili sauce. I preferred the chilis because it added a much better kick The Joya's fried rice was a good option if you like extra crispy textures, since it had fried pork, what looked like fried chicken?, rice crisps, and peanut chili crisp in it. In terms of sandwich options, the Joya's party melt was a unique one, with a burger style meat and a little bit of cucumber kimchi, onion, and sauces in it. Once you order and pay indoors, they give you an uno card table number and then bring the dishes out to you. The servers are very friendly and quick. I finally got around to trying Joya's and it did not disappoint! The line was out the door but it went pretty quickly and they were able to find us a seat after we ordered! There was a vegetarian/vegan and gluten free menu which was great as I am a vegan! The drinks are also great! I've been wanting to get here since they opened and I finally made it! Now I've been twice in the past few weeks (and I live a solid 30 mins away). 5+++ stars from head to toe with this place! Service, food, patio, bar tables...literally everything has been top tier. I guess I'm surprised to have decent service these days, so I'm overly impressed, especially with a fast/casual spot. The employees genuinely seem happy to be there and answer (alllll) my foodie questions with patience (NOTED!). And the food...YOWZA. The Joyas latte, the special orange coffee I had today, the breakfast tacos, burger, breakfast sandwich, toast in a box, the special hard boiled egg...all insanely delicious and unique. Was looking for a new coffee/breakfast experience while in the area and came across Joya. It sounded like a place full of flavor and that it was. I ordered that Kati Roll which was really tasty, but the star of the show was definitely my friend's Not Pad Thai noodle dish. It was a veggie option , made with tofu. I'm typically not much of a tofu person but it was delicious. The noodles were cooked perfectly and again, so much flavor. I'd definitely come back for them. Having been wanting to make a visit for a while every time I came back to see my folks. The restaurant is Bengali fusion and all the food is delicious! We came when there was a farmers market happening in the neighborhood but service was still very quick and attentive. I got the Bengali chap cheese and also tried my friends kati roll and it was soo good. On the house we were given hush puppies and it was such a nice surprise. The service was very friendly, the ambiance was very downtown, hustle and bustle vibe, it was great but just wasn't for me. It was so flavorful, it was an emotional roller coaster each bite, so many ingredients, but it all came together perfectly, paired with a Joya Iced Latte. If I could give this spot 10 stars I would. This location is nowhere near me but we made the trek over to Worthington to see what all the hype was about and it's DEFINITELY worth the trip. Columbus likes to brag about how they're a "test city" for new and innovative dining and restaurants yet damn near everywhere you look it's chain after chain after chain with the same old same old. JOYA's definitely does NOT fit this mold. They are making dishes that are BOLD, IMAGINATIVE, with FLAVOR PROFILES that are UNMATCHED. Whoever the hell sat down and thought out the menu SNAPPED (in a good way). For example the milk chai tea sample the owner or manager passed out to the folks in line was AWESOME and I'm not even a big tea drinker. The Egg Sandwich BOBBYS WAY, was savory, unctuous, with a hit of sweetness that paired excellently to the overall sandwich in itself. The hash puppies loaded was OFF THE CHAIN! The not so pad Thai had a mix of flavors that were unique and very pleasant to the palate. The crispy Manchurian sandwich was delicious, moist, sauced to the gods yet crispy with an awesome slaw that balanced the sandwich well. The housemade rice crispy sample was spectacular and will never make you want to eat a factory made rice crispy treat ever again! There's a reason there's a line outside this place before it opens...because it's awesome with customer service OUTTA THIS WORLD! Menu is all over the place. I personally don't think Asian fusion and breakfast go together well but that's just me. What is my main critique is the Joyas card membership. There is a pseudo apartheid between the card members and the normies trying this restaurant for the first time. There is not a lot of seating but the counter facing the kitchen and the tables toward the entrance are "reserved" only for Joyas card members. There is no way I can tell to join online but as to why I need a membership to sit at a table and eat overpriced breakfast food is beyond me. One star read more
