I found this wonderful local breakfast place on yelp and it epitomizes why I use Yelp. It was a beautiful café with great energy, fantastic food, and was very near where I was staying. The service was spectacular and the food items were tasty and I had a great selection of them. The coffee was exactly how I like it and I found a seat in the outdoor Cafe, which pleased me greatly. I highly recommend this place although you will want to get here early on weekends because it filled up very very fast and there was lots of waiting for the exterior seating. I arrived at 9 AM and only had to wait behind two people and was able to get it outside table right away, but very shortly after that the line began forming, and the weight for outdoor tables was quite long. I did realize when I went to the bathroom that there was more seating in other locations which I didn't explore so I will next time. read more

This is my new favorite breakfast spot in town! The setting was very chill and made you want to stay for a while. The staff were patient and friendly with those who took a while to decide which delicious item to order. The food is next level. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delivered to our table quickly. The flavors and textures going on in each dish or drink worked together to make me stop and think how they pulled off something so amazing. I'll be returning to try more of the menu. read more

Love Emmett's so much. The brûlée onto the banana is such a yummy addition to the banana bread. The old north breakfast is a classic, you get a taste of everything. First time visiting Columbus my friend took me here for a quick bite and a drink. I cannot believe the quality of their stuff! We ordered breakfast burritos, their one-handed sandwich, and matcha lattes. All of the things we ordered were perfectly made (one of the best matcha lattes I've had). Just sat down at a table in a hallway that appears to be the locker room hallway. Pretty cool vibe so far as the building itself was once a school i believe. I liked that it was an "order at counter" sale versus a service wait. My wife's only complaint was the unavailability to custom tip. Felt a little forced to tip beyond what we felt was deserving, but what can you do lol. Other than that, the food and the drink we got were amazing. I ordered the Emmett bowl, wifey got the Lox and we shared the Mango smoothie. The lady who brought the food was kind enough to give us an extra plate so we could share what we ordered as it was our first time. We enjoyed the food and cool setup! read more

4.5 stars. I have been to emmets countless times since living in German Village, and the food is always delicious. They have a pretty small indoor dining area, but a beautiful patio to sit at when it's nice out. Their coffee is also pretty good, & they have hot or iced options. It's a little pricey, but competitive price compared to other brunch spots in the area. The service here has been hit-or-miss, but today the servers were very kind! read more

The food at Emmett's is awesome and the aesthetic of the place is beautiful, however the day we went the service was not great. They are first come first serve seating and all of the tables were full. They brought our coffee to us and we were standing in a corner drinking it while waiting for a table to open up. Then our food came before we had anywhere to sit so they had to take it back to the kitchen while we continued to wait for a table. I feel like they need to come up with a better system or limit times at tables because it was a bit worrisome as a guest knowing that everyone who was ordering would also be fighting for a table. read more

They have yummy brunch options like the falafel salad, which was refreshing and filling. The falafel was ever slightly spicy and flavorful. The breakfast burrito, which was stuffed with fluffy eggs and veggies, was also great. The salsa that came with the burrito also enhanced the flavor a lot! If you want a sweet treat, try their banana bread. It was super moist and topped with glazed bananas for extra sweetness. Once you order at the front, they give you a number and bring out the food to you. They also have a side window if you want to order coffee to go! The food is amazing, I have never had a bad thing there. I am a big fan of there breakfast burrito with a side a tater tots. I always come with a friends and my friends always ask to come back. This was my second time flying to Columbus on a red eye in recent months with hours to spare before hotel check in. Emmett's Open Air is my go to cafe for a few reasons... 1. vibes- this place is so vibey. The plants, ample seating both inside the cafe and in the school house hallway. Huge parking lot. 2. breakfast burrito- $14.5 coming from SF I've had too many breakfast burritos to count. There's something special about this scrambled eggs, avocado, monterey jack cheese, deep fried prosciutto & tots, chipotle aioli. (side of fresh salsa). The salsa is bland but I use it to flavor the eggs because this is an egg forward burrito. 1/2 is a whole meal because it is generously stuffed. 3. matcha latte- why is this so good?! Is it the house vanilla?! I'm not sure but I could drink 10. I love Emmett's so much which is why I went there 4 out of 5 days! read more

The lady taking our order to the people who were running the food all employees were helpful and friendly! Overall, the ascetic of the cafe was very open, warm, lots of natural light. Service: You order and pay the register and the staff will give you a number. They bring the food to your table when it's ready. The food came out fairly quickly. Ambiance: It's a super chill cafe with food. I came on a Monday afternoon for brunch and there was a good amount of tables. They have a couple tables lined in the hallway. The hallway def felt like a school hallway to me. I ordered the Schiller bowl. It was a super healthy bowl with quinoa, roasted beets, and mushrooms. The hollandaise sauce was enough to make the bowl taste flavorful. It was surprisingly filling as well. Parking: Parking was fairly easy as they have their own parking lot in the front. read more

I would give 3.5 stars if I could but since there are no half options, 3 it is. After hearing such great things about Emmett's, I had pretty high expectations going in. Got there at about noon on a Saturday and they were expectedly busy. They do have a good sized parking lot as well as $5 valet parking though, which was a nice surprise. You go in and order at the counter and then are given a number to take to your table where the food is brought out to you. My friend and I ordered the TK and the lox and their maple sea salt latte spring drink special. The vibe inside is nice and there is ample seating. We ordered and waited for our food, which was brought to us pretty quickly all things considered! I was pretty disappointed in my sandwich though...I don't think they did anything wrong per se I just didn't like the taste. The stone ground mustard was more of a creamy sauce that tasted like there was maybe mayo mixed in? I do not enjoy mayo at all so that was an unwelcome surprise. The egg on the sandwich was kind of hard too and had a weird texture. I think the avocado would have been much better sliced instead of as a guacamole-like spread too. The arugula and focaccia were good at least! Our lattes took a long time to come out...like 10-15 minutes after we got our food. The drink was supposed to have salted maple cream on the top and it didn't either. Maybe that's only if you get it iced but that was not communicated to me. Either way, the drink didn't taste like maple or sea salt at all once it finally arrived so that was disappointing. Maybe I just ordered the wrong things but my experience at this Emmett's Cafe definitely didn't live up to the hype. read more

Emmett's has a great breakfast burrito that I've gotten both times I've visited. It has a mix of eggs, hash browns, some mildly spicy sauce, bacon etc. it's very filling & yummy! Their lattes are and their ambiance is perfect for studying, coffee dates, or work meetings. Plenty of booths, lighting, and space for people to feel comfortable. I'm rating 3/5 for two reasons: 1 being that the service isn't anything special. & 2 because it is PRICEY. Especially for being so close to a college campus full of broke college students. The burrito itself cost $14.50. Definitely don't recommend if you're on a budget. But other than that, the food and coffee has been consistent. A fantastic breakfast/lunch spot, but a bit on the pricey side. They do deliver quality, so you get what you pay for. Almost everything on the menu looked good. I tried The Lox, a bit of a variation as it is on a roll, not a bagel, but it made a great sandwich. This was my second time coming to Emmett's for weekend brunch. The first week, I ordered the avocado toast to go. It was amazing, great flavor, super fresh toppings, as well as amazing focaccia bread. I will say, it's not a crispy "toast" but more of an avocado topped bread. The portion size is also quite large for the price. The second time I went, I ordered the "one handed" breakfast sandwich, and it was DIVINE. The rosemary aioli made the whole sandwich. I am slightly disappointed because I also wanted to order the cold brew smoothie, but was told that they were unable to offer smoothies or juices, so I will be back to try it, hopefully with better luck. The outdoor seating area is also very cute but fills up quickly. I would caution diners that there are quite a few bees in the area! Even sitting inside, I had to catch one in a cup to be released outside. Overall, Emmett's is an adorable cafe, lots of seating options, quick to-go service, and amazing food! read more

I love the space - its a bit loud inside but nicely appointed and the patio space is cute. Because it's a popular spot (we went on Saturday late morning), seating is at a premium but we were able to get a seat at a picnic table outside. I was really hoping for a mind-blowing meal, but honestly, it fell short for us. We had a coffee and an ice tea to drink - both nicely average. The hyped breakfast burrito was meh. The best parts were the salsa and dipping sauce sides and the super fluffy eggs. It wasn't very large and had way too much avocado. The tots are really good because of the everything bagel style seasoning, but the bottom of the bowl had a pool of oil which made a lot of them too oily to eat. That blew my mind. Service was ok - friendly but we had to ask for silverware. No biggie. But we were brought 2 forks and no napkins. Maybe I missed where we were supposed to get them ourselves? Some tables didn't have them so it was confusing. All in all, my experience wasn't amazing. I would go back to check out the Understory bar next door because that looks amazing, but I probably won't make a special trip to Emmett's for breakfast. read more

Came to Emmett's Open Air location on a warm Thursday for brunch around 11am. The place was popping despite being a weekday. All the outdoor table were full when we got there but we were able to snatched one before the food came out. We got Schiller bowl, which was amazing. It was a warm quinoa bowl with lots of veggies (zucs, beets, mushrooms etc.) with poached egg and hollandaise sauce on top. The combination between all the ingredients was excellent. I'd definitely get it again. We also got the One-handed sandwich which was a english muffin breakfast sandwich. Despite it being so simple, it was very satisfying. One of my favorite cafes in Columbus, great food and drink and great spot to work or study (they have free wifi if you ask!) There is soooo much seating available inside and outside, pretty much always space even when it's busy. You can head to the Olentangy Trail behind the cafe for a quick walk as well. I got the breakfast burrito (I honestly think it's the best in Columbus), would also recommend the Emmything sandwich. The tater tots are a delicious side too! Parking can be tricky but if there's no spots there's usually street parking available. read more

It was a beautiful day to brunch outside, so my friends & I decided on Emmets Open Air. The place is quite unique since it's a renovated school building - complete with the old lockers and bathrooms. Its' decor is light and airy - lots of natural sunlight floods the main seating area inside. We dined al fresco and found the shade umbrellas helpful. The tables were a bit wobbly and the chairs/benches weren't crazy comfortable, but they were fine. It's a counter service ordering system. Once ordered, you can find your own open seats. The food came out pretty quickly and our servers were pretty nice. There's self serve water both inside and outside for your convenience. The menu had mostly your typical brunch type items...sandwiches, bowls, ect.... We didn't order it this time, but they're pretty famous for their banana bread with caramelized bananas. All the drinks we got were also beautifully presented and delicious. The food is made from fresh quality ingredients and kept simple. All in all, we had a delightful afternoon chatting and enjoying the gorgeous fall weather before touring Understory downstairs. It's a nice coffee date or ladies brunch spot. read more

Been to Emmett's before plenty of times, but not this particular location. I always go to the other one. Although I love the other spot because it's small and cute and has a nice outdoor area, thought this place was cool with the amount of space. Checked it out, went with my usual which is the one handed breakfast sandwich (a delicious and elevated McDonald's egg cheese McMuffin, and I mean this in a good way). Also got a jasmine pearl tea which I've never seen on the menu at the other location (maybe it's there, just never noticed). Although the sandwich tasted the same, it was on the colder side which was disappointing. Then my tea arrived a lot later than my sandwich so that was kind of awkward, but honestly things happen and no big deal. They did refill me up while I was sitting and reading which was great and I really appreciated! This location also got pretty packed and loud. Just something to note compared to the other location. I'd still come back if this location was more convenient for the day, but prefer the other one. read more
