This is my third year in a row coming to Mazah Mediterranean Eatery for 614 Restaurant Week, and they hands down have the best deals--honestly, even beyond restaurant week. Every time, they serve the most beautiful, FULL plates of food with some of the best-tasting Mediterranean dishes I've ever had. As a vegan, it can be tough to find restaurants that are truly accommodating, but Mazah makes it effortless. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and takes such great care of you, no matter your dietary restrictions. They are genuinely the kindest and most helpful staff I've ever experienced at any local restaurant in Columbus. Being family-run, dining here truly feels like you're part of their family. Another stop I made during this most recent restaurant week was at Mazah Eatery! This one was another fantastic deal where you got 4 dishes for $20! I was in a time crunch and got takeout, and it traveled perfectly back home! The vibes there when picking it up looked awesome, I'll definitely need to go back for an in person dining experience! I'm a big fan of shish tawook & Mazah's is delicious! I love the chargrilled and garlicky flavors; and the tumeric rice goes nicely with it. Ordered DoorDash from here for the first time. The food seemed cheap and not great quality. The portions were small. The Greek salad was barely able to be considered a Greek salad. My coworkers and I came here for dinner. It had good ratings and we were craving Mediterranean and it definitely didn't disappoint. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. The decor was inviting and we were seated in a comfortable end table with half cushioned lounge seats and outer single seats. We ordered the Mazah platter to share with baba ganoush, pickled radish, hummus, and grape rolls with pita. It was delicious. I ordered the chicken shwarma for my main dish and it was well seasoned on top of yellow rice. I also ordered the mango nectar which was too sweet so i diluted it with water. This was my first time at Mazah and it turned out to be a wonderful and pleasant experience. I emailed for reservations and we were seated right away. Two very young girls, one in training took our order. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Bread and Baba chanoush. My entree was the lamb skewers. It came with plenty of yellow rice. Make reservations however we did come during restaurant week. Our server was excellent. They also had light music playing. If you read my reviews I don't like loud music or music that doesn't match what I'm eating. Meaning I don't want to go to an Asian spot and hear RunDmc. Well they did it right. The food was good. It didn't have the bold flavors that I'm accustomed to when eating this style of food. However our server layali saved the day. She was very knowledgeable of the menu. The lentil soup was ok and it was not hot. The chicken had good flavor and was very mosit. The hot sauce was flavorable but not spicy The place is nice. They have a small waiting area and parking can be difficult. The food wasn't memorable but Layalis service was. The was just ok because it didn't have the bold flavors we are used too. read more

Talk about cray cray set of circumstances. We were exploring the University and the hungries hit. Rebounding off a fantastic Mediterranean meal in Detroit, we're looking for quick, simple, tasty and reasonable. Yelp to the rescue. Only one mile away and everything above. If only the parking wasn't so complicated. Small price to pay. When Mrs. E. needed a clarification, the server did so with a smile and a couple of alternatives. She ended up with a very satisfying Chicken Shawarma. I insisted on the Falafel Small Sampler with the side of tahini and the pita. The Beef Shawarma pita pocket was also incredible. Absolutely phenomenal. That is what describes this place. I have tried numerous dishes, and I will say, I have not had something I didn't like. That makes it hard to give Mazah anything less than 5 stars. Not that I want to give less, but to be honest, how many restaurants can you go to and say, "everything is good"? The service is always great, servers ready to assist, point you in a good direction if you're new, check on you like they should. I have never once been disappointed by anyone who waited my table, and yes, I been there many times. The atmosphere is good. It has a nice vibe to it. Mazah looked promising from what I had read online but both service and food were just only OK. We asked to be seated on the covered patio since it felt nice outside on a May Thursday night. It was a cute little area. Two of us had just landed from a flight so we wanted a Dirty Martini. Their Dirty Martini was made with a local Ohio OYO vodka and kalamata olives. When they arrived, they didn't look that appetizing and only came with three olives each even though we asked for extra olives. The kalamata olive brine gave the martini an odd flavor but there was no vodka taste at all in the martini. One could say maybe it means it was really smooth but that's not what we thought. I ordered the Small Sampler with Chicken plus a side of Falafel. Another person in my party ordered the same Small Sampler but vegetarian with Falafel plus a Spinach Triangle. Even though my friend said he wanted it vegetarian, the server still asked if he wanted Chicken so that of course led him to ask questions again to make sure there would not be any meat on his plate. The third person ordered well done Lamb over Salad. Everything looked good at first and I was excited to dig in but we weren't given silverware so one of the guys went to grab roll ups for us. The Chicken and Rice in my Sampler Platter wasn't hot in temperature, the Spinach Triangle was cold to touch, and the Lamb was not well done as requested. The guys sent back their Spinach Triangle and Lamb Skewers. I was hungry so I just ate my food as is. The server was very apologetic and later, someone else brought the food back and let us know they don't microwave their food. That's fine but I'm not sure why she told us that because we hadn't complained about the food being microwaved. The Babaganoush wasn't like any I've ever had before. It was very creamy and didn't taste like grilled eggplant. The Hummus was a tad too creamy for my liking. I did enjoy the Cabbage Salad and the pickled veggies that came with the side of Falafel. The Chicken and Rice lacked flavor and the Falafel was ok. My friend didn't like his Lamb at all and the other guy didn't care for his Sampler Platter. We didn't care for the place. read more

I have been to Mazah many times over the years, and we chose to have lunch there during our last day in Columbus before moving to another state. We just love this place. It's clean and cozy, the staff is super friendly, and the food is always fresh and tasty. I had my favorite: the chicken schwarma with all the fixings, hummus and pita, and the three bean salad. My wife went with falafel, hummus, and a Greek salad. We also took a few sweets from the desert case for the ride to our new home. Everything was great, and we will miss Mazah so much. I came here for Lebanese night, which happens on the first Monday of the month. They have a special menu of traditional Lebanese dishes and our server was great at explaining the offerings and providing recommendations. We ended up over ordering, no surprise, and got kibbeh two ways (raw and baked), a chicken meat pie, and a soup. All were delicious and were a great mix of textures and flavors. The raw kibbeh had a nice texture and much different from beef tartare, which has more of a bite, the kibbeh was smoother as its a finely chopped/ground meat. I wasn't actually sure how to eat it so I took bites mixed with the various veggies and stuff provided, either way it was delicious. The stew was also very homey and satisfying, it tasted like a really good chicken noodle soup. If you're out exploring in Grandview, then you definitely need to stop here. It was our first visit and definitely won't be the last. We came right before Happy Hour ended. It's lasts til 6 Mon thru Saturday. We got sangrias which were liquid cinnamon goodness. Our server Sophia recommended the Dinner for two ( I can't remember what it was called) It was a dinner for $39 which included soup, salad, small plate appetizers ( hummus, baba, bean salad, cabbage salad and falafel), plus the shareable entree. My raving of the food does it no justice!! Best Falafel ( funny I only like 2 other falafels ever and one is by the sister of our server in Dublin Falafel Kitchen) The Baba was Smokey deliciousness and the pita warm pillowy pockets. I went here a couple months ago with my mom for restaurant week and had an amazing experience. We went around 5 and were seated immediately. Our server was so helpful and nice. The restaurant was decorated nice on the inside and had a little out door area that looked so pretty and cozy. I ordered the chicken kebob entree with a salad, pita and babaganoush. My mom got the chicken shawarma entree and everything was delicious. One thing I noticed was that the feta tasted so fresh. It was the best feta I ever tasted. Like dining with family. I came here for a team dinner, and we were treated like we belonged. We ordered family style: a grilled mazah platter and a mujadara salad to share. We thought we had five, but only four showed...and we had soooo much to eat! Man, this a restaurant that does not short you on food. My favorite items in the bunch were the mujadara (wonderful blend of soft and crunchy), lamb (fall-apart tender), falafel (spiced delightfully and needing no sauce). I was a little underwhelmed by the skewers, where I thought the beef was slightly overcooked. All in all, though, we had a delightful meal, we were treated well, and we will be back. read more

Maybe I'm just extra critical of Mediterranean food based on the fact that I live in Detroit and we have some of the best Mediterranean food in the world there. We love Mazah! My favorite of all time is Shish Tawook! It's start with my husband, he is very open about trying something new and I always get only what I have before which was chicken Shawarma and one time he said the Shish Tawook is the first one on the menu it must be good and I ended up ate all his food. It's. So. Good! So full but so light in the same time, very healthy meal. After I ate everything I wouldn't feel guilty at all. Everyone in the restaurant was so nice and kind. We went there a couple times and the service always over the top. The restaurant is always clean even they are busy all the time! Mazah is, in my opinion, one of the staples of Grandview! It consistently serves up delicious Mediterranean food and I often find myself craving it again days later. It sits right on Grandview Ave. but the entrance doesn't directly face the street so keep that in mind. For the food, where do I even start. The pita bread is warm and sooo good by itself. When you pair it with their amazing hummus, it's just incredible. Doesn't really matter what you order, everything seems to be cooked very well. My personal favorites are the kefta kebob and the chicken shawarma. Their rice is also seasoned and delicious. One issue I do have with the food is that it is generally on the salty side. When the rice is already seasoned and the meats are also heavily seasoned, it can become a bit much. Also, I am personally not a fan of pickled veggies but they seem to have a lot of it. That's definitely a personal preference though. For the amount of food Mazah gives, the prices are excellent! The inside of the restaurant has some signs of aging, though still has plenty of sunlight. I would say the service is about average.
