    Latke with salmon
    Geoff D.

Need to have a quiet yet tasty breakfast meeting near the Convention Center in downtown Columbus? The Guild House is a great option where you can make reservations and choose from a mix of expected standards and creative combos. My latke with salmon was the latter that did not disappoint. If you are super hungry, maybe the pork cheek, potato and two egg hash is a hearty choice and what my dining companion opted for. The coffee was a little too good and plentiful as I had to say no to the offer of a fourth cup just to avoid getting the shakes later today. And I should have gotten the name of our waiter who was attentive without being a nuisance and made good recommendations to get us to our two excellent choices.

I highly recommend this place for a date night. The service was great! They were able to accommodate me at a table even though I had a bar reservation. The food was good. I recommend the carrot cake! It costs around $111 with tip. Come if you enjoy fine dining without it being too fancy. I was dressed casually. Parking is available on the streets.

Great location and nice decor. Service was really wonderful and very attentive. Food was just okay in my opinion. Lobster toast was fine but not really a special dish. I would give this a try for dinner in the future but probably wouldn't return for brunch.

Fantastic dining experience. In town for work and the Guild House was a recommendation. We didn't have a reservation but we were sat right away. Our waitress was fantastic. She was very helpful and willing to answer all our questions. She was extremely attentive to our table and ensured that we got our orders and anything else we needed. We shared a couple of appetizers which were delicious. My dinner was fantastic. Great seafood with a great presentation. I also got one of their desserts which was pretty large and tasted great The atmosphere of the restaurant is very welcoming and comfortable seating. Great job. Will be back.

Overall great meal and great time at guild house. I've been here several times, and this was probably my favorite time here! The food was excellent- we shared the dumplings (must get, absolutely divine), the Brussels sprouts, and the burrata toast (probably my least favorite of the 3 but still good) as starters. I got the Cavatelli with duck confit for my main course - this was lovely. My personal preference would be with fewer tomatoes, but if you're a fan of tomatoes, this dish is wonderful. The sauce was deliciously creamy and the quality of the duck was fantastic. Dessert was the miss for me. I ordered the cherry chocolate Sunday. The ice cream was supposedly dark chocolate, but it still seemed like milk chocolate to me. The cherry flavor was nice, but I found myself wishing I had gotten the carrot or poppy cake (as others at my table did). The ambiance was nice, the seats were comfortable and the noice level was good for a group of 5. Service was 10/10 phenomenal. Our server was wonderful and quite attentive throughout!

One of my favorite restaurants in the Short North, The Guild House does not miss. The modern ambience and excellent service makes this place great for a date night or a special occasion. Their craft cocktails and freshly prepared dishes are fantastic and they'll be sure to have something unique or different that you haven't yet had anywhere else. I highly recommend you come here if you haven't yet been!

Stopped by for a business dinner. Amazing location, the service and food were spot on. The server was excellent he made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant has a SOHO vibe so the decor was on point. The food we ordered was fresh and was amazing hats off to the chef. If ever in Colombus a definite place to stop by and enjoy!!

Beautiful, high end restaurant & a lovely brunch! We went for Valentine's Day & the whole place plus the servers were decked out. They had some special drinks, too. Service was impeccable- food was divine. It's more an expensive place than we normally are able to go to .... But definitely worth it!

Haven't been able to stop thinking about this experience ever since I dined here. Upon walking in, i knew I was in for a treat. The restaurant was beautiful and felt refined without feeling stuffy. I sat at the bar and was greeted by two of the kindness, and helpful bartenders that talked me through the menu and suggestions. I started with the tartare which was absolutely delightful and could eat it every day. For my entree I went for the scallop dish that was beautifully presented and had a light but very balanced flavor. The broccolini I ordered as a side offered an excellent contrast of texture and flavor to the scallops and I highly recommend both dishes! Overall excellent experience! I would love to come back just for the atmosphere at the bar and have a few cocktails and appetizers. If you're not in the area, this place this definitely worth traveling for!

Excellent dinner at the Guild! It was our daughter's birthday and she chose the restaurant. Our party of four arrived a few minutes early, so had a drink at the attached hotel bar in some giant comfy chairs while we waited. A few sips of our drinks and our table was ready! We started with the Brussels sprouts appetizer and sweet potato rolls. The rolls were outstanding! I'd probably skip the Brussels next time. Then the mains: salmon (excellent), halibut (lovely), filet (delicious and deliciously salty and came with a mind blowingly good potato gratin) and the market wagyu beef (excellent, small appetizer size). Sides: hassle back potatoes, fries, broccolini and carrots. All so good! We weren't going to have dessert, but our amazing waitress described the carrot cake and the poppy cake and we were hooked. The carrot cake was so perfect - not a traditional carrot cake but almost a buttery coffee cake. It melted in our mouth. AND, our waitress remembered the birthday and the dessert came with a candle. Festive! It's a lovely restaurant inside. We parked in the garage across the street but this is High Street so allow time for finding parking.

Came on a weekday for dinner and the restaurant was packed. We ordered several starters and a couple mains to share. The corn chowder was way too salty and not hot enough for a soup. The brussel sprouts were drenched. For our mains, we tried the scallops and the duck cavatelli. Our server was thoughtful and had pre-split our entrees onto plates to share. The scallops were not bad but the pasta was once again way too salty. The sauce was also soup like rather than normal sauciness. The duck also tasted gamey/ not fresh. Was really excited to try one of Cameron's restaurants but left disappointed. Our server Lacey was great though.

Came here for my birthday, but it wasn't my first time! This place is always packed, but the experience is still the same. They gave me a little birthday card which was a nice touch made the place seem intimate. We got the oysters again because they were so good last time. I wish there was 4 to keep it even! We also tried the burrata appetizer good but could use a pinch of salt. For Dinner I got the filet medium rare it comes with potatoes au gratin again could use a bit of salt. my husband got the Joyce farms chicken and he really enjoyed that said it was different! They had truffle fries and the fries were perfectly cooked! For dessert we got the ice cream Sunday which was a good size for 2 people to share! Love the cherry component which the chocolate! 10/10 again!

Pretty loud and hard to hear, but that vibe is OK for a boil place to me. Only waited about 15 minutes. Two adults, two elementary kids. I like Lees of all the boil places because they have good options for non seafood people too. Both kids found wings, chicken fettuccini, etc. Started with the hushpuppies, about 12 smallish sized but a perfect starter for 4 people. Came with ketchup, I wish they would do a remoulade option. My wife and I split the duo (snow crab, shrimp) and I decided to add a LB of blue crab. Medium homemade juice sauce (always....it's sooo damn good). Snow crab was really good this time, snappy not bendy like some places. knuckles sweet and not overly briny. Perfectly cooked and came apart and out easily. Shrimp were just a tad overcooked but not much. Potatoes were perfect. We sub +1 tater for the egg. Corn is never good at these places. :) gotta do those fresh not frozen to get it right. The blue crab had good flavor. However, crazy overcooked which made getting meat out damn near impossible. Stringy instead of in chunks and stuck totally to the shell. I mostly gave up. My biggest complaint is they have ZERO typical utensils. No crackers/pickers/hammers/etc. I managed to cut myself trying to get into a snow crab large claw, and the lack of pickers made the blue crab impossible to eat. I'm bringing my own next time....serious. Finished with the fried oreos which were a perfect finish to the meal. 6 oreos for $6 was a great price.

Food was good, my only complaint was the amount of sauce, they held back on the sauce I could've boughten the extra sauce but wasn't looking for it to be drenched, but looking for alittle more love in the boil, especially since it was a lot of food and I had to take some home and reheat it. Other than that a great place, nice people good food!

They have decorated the lounge area nicely for the holidays to give a warm feeling. My issue is with whoever was managing the kitchen that day. The event had chicken tenders and fries which were served for the kids, but they had run out. There was no sign that this option is for kids only, so unsurprisingly adults had taken these food items as well. Some of the kids do not eat anything else, so a few moms had asked if these items were going to be refilled. One of the staff members was really nice and said he would check, which then brought the chef out himself to say there were actually no more to be served, but he would fry a few for us. That was very kind of him, so we waited near the table for him. Ten minutes later we are approached by a man saying "sorry, no more food will be coming out." It had no context, so we said yes, we are aware, but a chef said he would bring a few out for us, to which he replied "listen, this was a freebie itself, there was only tenders for a 20 kid count... the buffet has already been discounted...it's in the contract... etc." I was like taken aback... 1) I'm not the host of the event, so I have no idea why a contract is being brought up to me who is just a guest attending, it was super unprofessional and unnecessary, 2) I did not demand any more food to be brought out, it was offered to us, and 3) I did not need this condescending attitude from this man, all he had to say is "I know the chef said he would make a few, but we are not able to offer more tenders." That right there would have been perfectly fine and that is no problem, because if you can't, you can't. He definitely put a negative vibe over something so simplistic just by the way of his attitude during a beautiful event. Shame!
