Wish I had taken a picture before diving in! We ordered the Pancake Platter with blueberry pancakes, a garlic omelet, a Philly steak omelet, and coffee -- everything was delicious. The menu is fun and creative, offering both coffee and beer, and the house cinnamon rolls are absolutely to die for. The restaurant has been around since 1932, and it's easy to see why. The food and service are top-notch, the staff is very friendly, and the warm wood décor gives it a cozy, welcoming feel. Everything came out fresh, hot, and fast. Love this place -- highly recommend!

A gigantic serving of biscuits and gravy with an ala carte scrambled egg

Where the Portions Are Big and the Seating is...Communal Therapy Let me start with this -- the biscuits and gravy didn't just arrive, they made an entrance. I'm talking hugemongus, like "Are you sure this isn't a prop from a food challenge show?" kind of big. Toss in some scrambled eggs and a couple of intimidatingly large bottles of hot sauce (because nothing says "wake up" like sweating through your breakfast), and you're off to the races. I built a deconstructed breakfast bowl for the tribe to-go -- home fries (extra well done like they owed me money), sausage patties, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs. It was like putting together breakfast LEGOs. We also got the cinnamon roll French toast, which is what happens when a cinnamon roll falls in love with a griddle and they make sweet, sticky magic. Add some bacon for balance (and because bacon is love). Now... the seating. Let's just say, privacy took the morning off. No booths. Just a long, zig-zaggy counter that feels like speed dating for breakfast enthusiasts. You want syrup? Gotta make eye contact and negotiate with two strangers and a ketchup bottle first. But the real MVP? The service. Lightning-fast, friendly, and more on top of it than your overachieving coworker with color-coded spreadsheets. They handled our chaos (and calorie count) like absolute pros. Bottom line: if you're hungry, slightly antisocial, and like your breakfast with a side of architectural wonder (seriously, how does that seating even work?), Hamburger Inn is your holy grail.

Under new management for a while now. Love they have upgraded some of the outdoor furniture and brought back the chicken fried steak but it's hard to get out of there for similar items we used to get there for under $15-17 a person. Add tip and it gets pretty pricey. Food is still good but the new pricing will limit us from frequency.

A staple of the historic downtown Delaware...this place gives you the old-school diner vibes . They have amazing cinnamon rolls and breakfast was spot on. Only knocked one star because I had to ask for a refill.

Lyndy did a great job and was friendly. I loved the mushroom burger. I'll come here again. The hamburger is juicy. Great value for price. Diner historical fun. Waffle fries.

Had a Monday off so we visited Hamburger Inn for breakfast. I'd definitely describe this as more of a dive, it's pretty small and unassuming, and dimly lit. The tables are bars kind of in an S shape and the stools are bolted down. When we arrived we were greeted and told to sit wherever, it wasn't very busy so we had no problem finding a spot. I have menu anxiety, so of course I already had decided what to get before arriving so we ordered right away after we got drinks. Service was fast and the prices were cheap. The food was delicious. We had a cinnamon rolled, warmed up. It was so good, well balanced and not overly sweet. For my main I had the bacon ham and cheddar scramble, it was HUGE. Very tasty, I love the style of their fried potatoes, they're like crispy slices. My husband had the lumberjack with over medium eggs, a nice size portion. Delicious pancakes. We really enjoyed our breakfast, I can definitely see why it's packed on the weekends. If you're planning to come try a week day, or be prepared for a wait since there's not a ton of seating.

My daughter and I love this place, it's really nostalgic looking on the inside. We loved the stools and bar seating. It made me think of Woolworths Department Store restaurants. I ordered the Chorizo Jalapeño Burger with 2 beef patties and a Chorizo patty. That was filling and delicious WOW!! My daughter had the Bacon Bleu Burger with 2 patties. She said the flavor was outstanding and her fries were very good. I did get onion rings with my meal and they were crispy and cooked the way I like them. I would be remiss if I didn't tell you the restrooms were clean as well!

Hamber Inn is a diner serving all threwmeals. Free street parking and 3 U shaped counters open to the kitchen for the wait staff to serve everyone easily. Each "island" has 13 stools bolted to the floor. Seat yourself when you enter. I saw people shifting left or right to help accommodate groups. The menu made comment to their famous cinnamon rolls My husband began to drool immediately and we ordered one. It was a 2 layered pancake like roll smothered in icing. I could smell the sweetness! He said it was fantastic! The menu offered a wide range of diner food, they had 4 draft beers on tap and milkshakes. But we were there for breakfast. Everything walking past me looked fabulous! My son would love the Lumberjack! Pancakes, eggs, potatoes, meat. I'm excited to come back with him. Hubs ordered the western omlet. 3 eggs, large chunks of ham, plus green pepper and onions and American Cheese. A definite "order again". I indulged in the Gravy Train Omlet. Also 3 eggs, crumbled sausage, American cheese smothered in sausage gravy. The Gravy was heavy with sausage and made with a noticable amount of black pepper just the way I like it!. So good! I would also order this again! Beverages were served in large red cups. The Hamburger Inn sold ads space for local businesses in the cups: smart! My only complaint is that their straws were too short. I had to fish my straw out of the cup to sip my water. First world problems, I know! I recommend visiting this diner and I will return soon!

Just a simple old style burger joint! The burgers were hot, fresh and very flavorful. The fries were like fair fries and they even had malt vinegar to sprinkle on. The best part of the meal was the cinnamon bun for desert.....hands down the best cinnamon bun I have ever had. I can't do justice in words how good these things are. They also serve breakfast and I can tell you that on my next day off I am driving up there just to try their breakfast and have another of those cinnamon buns. Oh, and the staff there is very friendly and very attentive.....Great experience all the way around!

And the building and restaurant has a cool history as being one of the oldest in the state. My server Ian was cool as was the rest of the staff I encounter. It s nice to see younger people with goals who take pride in where they work. He recommended the grilled sirloin which was good: A simple nice grilled steak with great char marks and seasoning. The potato was okay, and I couldn't tell if it was from a box or they peeled them, but they were tasty and a nice large portion. It just needed butter which they brought me. The Caesar salad was very good, and I am picky about both salads and dressings... I could have even eaten more of that! I am glad they are preserving it and its legacy. I am also glad they are open on Monday when many of their competitors in Delaware are NOT! When I first thought of Bunns, I thought of old people, and this clearly contemporary with an updated menu! They even have Jell-O! I wiIll definitely return and recommend it to anyone who asks me for a good place to eat... Much appreciated.

My favourite is the pistachio creme filled croissants, followed closely by the strawberry and cream croissant. They have a wide array of sweet and (I suspect?) savoury bites for your morning breakfast or afternoon pick-me-ups. The decor is nothing to write home about, but it's nice to just sit on the stool, gaze out the window on to the busy streets, and sip your cuppa as you people-watch and munch down on a lovely pastry.

They have house made gelatos, pastries, paninis, many drinks, and more. The girl at the counter was super sweet and answered all my questions and made some recommendations when I asked. We went with an iced sweet mocha, which was pretty good. They also sell pumpkin spice lattes and can basically make anything that's not on the menu either to your liking, which is great. I thought it was great that they offer cappuccinos, etc. Italian style. For food, we tried the cookies and cream gelato (small for $5.50, a bit pricey IMO), veggie panini ($10, totally shareable among two, best served after panini press), strawberry marscapone croissant ($6.50), custard filled donut (bombolino, found it to be extremely dry and custard was dried out too, did not finish), and tiramisu (small for $5, made in house, a staff favorite). I appreciated that they make their gelatos, there were several flavors to choose from and you can try before committing. I wanted a meat panini, but all the meat ones had pork in them, so opted for the veggie one, which was great flavor with the cheeses and pesto. The bombolino donut was a fail and the least liked item, I would not get it again. Perhaps, it was an older batch item? The tiramisu was great! I would head over for a sweet treat when nearby again.
